Colony History: Rumors of the New World have reached the ears of circles of the French aristocracy. They could not sit idle while other nations reaped the benefits of the land. They decided that they needed to begin their own efforts before the major powers gobbled up what precious territory there was. Some of the more affluent among French society would sponsor many a peasants in their voyage across the Atlantic. They believed that the wealth would flow right into their coffers. Yet, they were unaware of the hardships to come.

Colony Name: Jamestown

Nation of Origin: England

Religion (Catholic, Protestant, or Orthodox): Protestant (Anglican Church)

 

Colony History: The defeat of the Spanish Armada cemented England's place as the supreme naval power in not just Europe, but possibly the entire world. Ser Walter Raleigh's failed colony in Roanoke deterred further attempts at colonization for a time, but in 1600 the young John Smith was granted a charter in the land known as Virginia. Seeking gold, many of those who wished to find their fortune boarded the ships bound for this new colony. However, with the experience of a controller who learned about this in 5th grade Social Studies, the Captain Smith has taken with him several families who will dedicate themselves to farming and providing food for the colony.

Colony Name: Marcolo's Brigands

Nation of Origin: Italy- I mean uh... Venice!

Religion (Catholic, Protestant, or Othordox): Mixed beyond recognition

Colony History: Venetians had set their sights upon the new lands for quite some time, as they realized they could not hold their naval monopoly for much longer if they didn't. As such they sent themselves colonists westward, as well as eastward, to take these new lands. Sadly for them those pesky Italians were not fond of being under Venetian rule, and as such flocked to the Americas in search of a "new Italy". 

Marcolo would be one of them, though a bit different. He not only wanted to reforge their lost nation, but create it in a way that would be better. So with his co-conspirators he committed mutiny a few weeks in.

This did not go easy, of course, but Marcolo set it in such a way that the Italians could escape mostly unscathed, and so they did. Now they were headed to a new land to take what is "rightfully theirs", even though some may say otherwise...

Nation of Origin: Spain

Religion (Catholic, Protestant, or Orthodox): Catholic 

Colony History: Founded by Spanish colonists commissioned by the crown to exploit the vast riches of the new world and begin building a vast Colonial Spanish Empire in the new world Although this colony is currently small, armed with gunpowder and cannons the colonists will soon bring Central America under their grasp.

Nation of Origin: Morocco 

Religion (Catholic, Protestant, or Othordox): Sunni

Colony History: As the Andalusian's were driven out from their land by the crusading Spanish, many found haven in the Kingdom of Morroco. Large populations created urban centers and when the opportunity for a new world to discover was found the Andalusian's decided to venture forth and create new lands for themselves.

Colony Name: Mekishiko

Nation of Origin: Japan

Religion: Shinto

Colony History:  The 1600s were a time of strife within the Japanese archipelago where warlords fought for control of the entirety.  It came to be clear that Tokugawa would win this struggle and unify Japan very soon.  The reactionary Tokugawa shogun prevented the spread of western ideas and committed Japan to remain closed.  A fringe group , ousted by the conservative Tokugawa to a far corner of Japan heard of a new world from Dutch traders.  These men and women sought to embrace a more modern culture and see Japan look outwards instead of closing up.  Seeking to carve out their own legacy abroad in the name of the Emperor, Japanese settlers embarked eastward, towards the rising sun.

Colony Name: Haaretz Chadash

Nation of Origin: Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Western France, and North Africa.

Religion (Catholic, Protestant, or Othordox): Jewish

Colony History: Iberian Jews once expelled from Isabella's Spain, as well as Portugal, fled to North Africa, Morocco, the Ottoman Empire and many more locations. Barbary Ottomans taught many of the refugees their Corsair tactics from which point they took revenge on the Ibero-Catholics, raiding Spanish and Portuguese ships with no mercy. Years later, as they pried maps of a path to the New World (or, Haaretz Chadash), they suggested the idea of colonization to these Old World Jews, as the idea would spread from Synagogue to Synagogue like wildfire.

Nation of Origin: Korea

Religion (Catholic, Protestant, or Othordox): Confucianism

Colony History: The colonist of Hanseong were survivors of the (Now) repelled attack of the Japanese. Having fled during the initial invasion despite its later known failure. The Traders, deserted soldiers and families fled along the commonly used trade routes by westerners, or Europeans. Somewhere along the route whether it was the subtle hand of their ancestors or a miracle through nature itself the winds had forced the small fleet of ships to land on the shores of the new world. Low on supplies, desperate and with no other choice the colonists established themselves a colony, named after the capital of their old home. A man by the name of Pae Seung-Su lead the soldiers to defend and greatly aid in the colonies efforts to establish themselves. Many looked to him as a leader and so he continued the effort of leading his people without dispute.

Colony Name: mina' 'abyad which means White port

Nation of Origin: Syria(ottoman Empire)

Religion (Catholic, Protestant, or Othordox : Islam

Colony History:

The Syrian Muslims longed to explore this new world upon hearing of it, It took 4 years to convince the ottoman sultan to allow them to go to the new world, convincing him that In Islam it requires them to learn and do great things as well as to make sure the "Kaffir" don't overstep their bounds so to speak(wink wink nudge nudge) The Syrians Disliked the turk overlords and found this as a way to start a new and gain a new living. Being hard workers and strong muslims, Mainly merchants and old veterans and poor wanting to try their luck, taking with them books and supplies, they set sail, To start a settlement that in their eyes...would be the New Allepo market of the world.
