Sander 3154 Share Posted October 15, 2018 Spring and Summer of 1603Current Leader: Mr. President, Cornelis Tromp The men were done for. They'd been attempting attacks and sabotage actions on the Hanseong people for half a year now, but to no avail, protection was too strict. Sure, they'd managed to light a few farms on fire now and then, but that'd been it. And now the Vinlandish fleet retreated back north, the siege of Hanseong was about over, and the 100 militiamen from Trompsylvania were sitting idle in their wooden camp in the forest. They'd been living off of dire rations, some of them were sick, many of them were bored and just all of them were done with the fight. Neu Brandenburg had lost, it was clear. There'd be nothing they could do about it anymore. At the beginning of spring, they had to make the call, the way home would be doable again now that the snow was melting... Would they retreat? Or would they fight? After the soldiers, all of them, commanders and footmen alike, discussed the matter one night, the answer became clear. When they spotted a Hanseong scout in the distance the next morning, one of them climbed up on the parapet of their camp, frantically waving a white handkerchief... The Trompsylvanian militia would offer white peace to Hanseong, they'd withdraw from the Hanseong conquest of Neu Brandenburg, no demands would be made from either side. Spoiler Protestant LeagueThe Protestant League was founded by the Protestant colonies of Trompsylvania, the West India Company, Neu Brandenburg and Vinland. This league is to preserve peace as best as possible in the American northeast coast. It is not an alliance, nor a single nation. It is an organisation of protestant colonies for mutual benefit and protection.Rules of the Protestant League: 1. No hostile actions can be taken against other members of the league. This rule is only in place while the Pax Protestantes is enacted. 2. Members of the league will respect one anothers landclaims. If a member believes claims might overlap, it will be sorted out in the form of negotiations rather than conflict. 3. Navies belonging to league members are allowed to dock whenever needed in ports of league members. Likewise, armies belonging to league members are allowed to pass through league lands whenever needed. 4. In any foreign policy, league members will always put protestants first, catholics and orthodox second and 'pagans' third. 5. League members can aid eachother if a league member is being attacked by a foreign power and is thus fighting a defensive war. They are not bound to do this, it is optional. 6. League members cannot join one another in offensive wars simply because they are in the league. Individual alliances are required for this. 7. The only religions allowed within the league or to join the league are forms of Protestantism and Reformism. Catholics, Orthodox or orther forms of christianity as well as 'pagan' religions cannot join the league. If a member of the league changes their religion to one not allowed in the league, their membership is ended immediatly by default. 8. They just carried on their day?” “Yes, Marcolo.” “Well that changes things a bit, now doesn’t it?” “... Yes, Marcolo.” That was the brief conversation Marcolo had with his captain, and Marcolo had to think on things. He felt he had a choice, it’s just was the answer he wanted to choose correct? So he then took it upon the council he assembled: the council of pirates or “privateers”. A few spoke and debated like civilized men, till one interjected and said the most important sentence of this meeting: “We’re pirates, ain’t we?” And so it was settled. Marcolo had forgotten that fact but now that he knew it he knew his answer. It was time for war. Those who would give no reaction to a blockade mustn’t struggle during a true battle, correct? That is what Marcolo supposed when he began arming his ship with canons and supplies. That is what he thought when he barked orders to the Brigandiers as they loaded the transport ship, and that is what he will think when he arrives at Spanish shores and bombards them with ammunition. That is not what Antonio thought, though. Antonio knew that those people were already prepared by the time the pirates came into their harbor the first time. They were going to wait the pirates out, not give them what they want. Sadly for these people, the pirates always get what they want. So he wrote up a former declaration of war as quickly as he could and went back to his many other affairs. Those affairs mainly including the market, for he had to build it up much more than it already was. Santiogo was more of a city of trade than a place rich with resources, that was for the other colonies. No, Santiogo was on the route that those northerners took if they fretted the northern passage to the mainland too dangerous (though Antonio thought it was quite the opposite). So the logical conclusion was to bolster the market; the more money that exchanges hands the better- for there was a better chance it would end up in the town’s pockets rather than the pirates. WAR DECLARATION Spoiler As of December 26th, 1603, the state formally known as “New Spain” shall heed the demands of Santiogo and its’ Brigands. Those within this state must hand over their land and belongings to that of Santiogo. All who oppose shall be promptly cut down- but those who bend the knee and offer us your life will be granted citizenship of Santiogo. These new citizens shall be granted a small portion of land in which to grow the crop that has been previously grown. They also shall be granted a fair few slaves in which to aid them on this farmland. Not only this but they will receive an ingot’s worth of money to make due with. Summary Spoiler [0 AP] War declared on New Spain! Sander 3154 Share Posted October 16, 2018 Spring and Summer of 1603Current Leader: Mr. President, Cornelis Tromp Spring went by peacefully in the colony of Trompsylvania, the soldiers returned home in May from the war in Hanseong, no deaths, only a few sick men. Their families were delighted to see them again, though were sad the war was lost. Many felt pity for the Neu Brandenburgers and they convinced President Tromp to invite any Neu Brandenburgers that were still alive and didn't want to live under Korean rule, to come to Trompsylvania where they could get their own neighbourhood in Nieuw Rotterdam. As word was caught of a disease ravaging the Haudenosaunee, President Tromp ordered for one of the colony's two doctors to be sent up north with a few men to see if he could cure some of their native friends. Extreme caution is to be taken as not to catch the disease themselves, whatever it may be. ---The Dutch Proposal--- In the midst of summer, President Tromp gets a letter from the outposts at he mouth of the Tjessepieck bay, Dutch ships had been spotted in the distance a few hours earlier and were now approaching the bay, were the ships to be stopped or let into the bay, towards Nieuw Rotterdam? President Tromp ordered for the ships to be let through, ordering for vice President Joris Wasserman to come to his office at once wherever he may be. Towards the evening, the Dutch ships approached New Rotterdam, Tromp leaned on his walking cane, vicepresident Wasserman at his left side, treasury secretary Koopman on his right side. They watched the Dutchmen dock one of their ships, their captain coming forth to greet the men. The five men had dinner that evening, secretary of state Thomas Janssen joining in, and discussed the matter of why the Dutchmen were here with a few ships, carrying about 150 peasants with them as well as a bunch of rifles. It came down to the Dutch Republic wishing to support Trompsylvania, in return for most of the fur the colony produced being shipped to Holland, for free... The next morning, the cabinet of the small colony met in the town hall of New Rotterdam, the weak president Tromp sat silent in front of the gathered men as vice-president Wasserman spoke for him: "My finest gentlemen.. You could've been anywhere in the world today, but you're here with us in New Rotterdam's cabinet. Are you ready, for a cabinet meeting?!” Wasserman called out, he was a popular fellow, a bit of a showman, he'd been quite the cultural figure in his younger days. The gathered men all knocked on the wood of their benches, excited to hear what they were called in for. "The issue on the table... The Dutch government's plan to assume our fur production in exchange for continued support. Secretary Janssen, you have the floor, sir...” For over an hour, a heated debate followed between Secretary Janssen and Secretary Koopman. Eventually Tromp and Wasserman had heard enough, and like usually, they went with their little favourite, Tromp's right hand man: Alexander Koopman, accepting the Dutch proposal. As the meeting was ended, everyone started standing up and leaving, amidst the slight chaos, Thomas Janssen stepped up to Alexander Koopman, prodding him on his chest. "So quick-witted..” "Alas, I admit it..” Koopman squinted. "I bet you'd be quite a lawyer...” "I could get my defendants acquitted..” "Yeah.. Well someone ought to remind you-” "What?” Koopman asked softly with a glare. "You're nothing without Wasserman behind you...” And just as Alexander Koopman was about to say something, Wasserman opened the door of the room he and Tromp went into. "Koopman!” Alexander Koopman gasped, glancing back. "Daddy's calling...” Thomas Janssen whispered, patting Koopman's shoulder before leaving with an evil grin. Sovereign_of_Solaris 39 Share Posted October 18, 2018 (edited) The Colony of Hanseong With the withdrawal of Trompsylvania, the defeat of Neu Brandenburg and the successful repelling of Vinland, Hanseong stands victorious above all who sought to destroy it. 200 German souls had come to Hanseong from Brandenburg, out of need, out of desperation. There colony had fallen, lost to the winter. Another 100 Men, Women, and children had been captured in the raids. With the enemy defeated Pae Seong-Su saw no need for them to suffer. The two hundred survivors, along with the one hundred prisoners were given citizenship in Hanseong. Food and Shelter, those that could took up any work they knew how. With the nearest threat eliminated the colony could focus on its more distant enemies and more immediate problems. ------------ Population 2,806 - 2 FS Base FS 1 + Farm 2 = 3 1 Farmland 1 Foundry 1 Mine Stone Walls Outpost Barracks (29/45) Army 100 Pikemen 300 Frontiersmen 3 Mortars 6 Light Cannons Navy 2 Frigates 1 Turtle Ship (Unique Carrack) Trade/Foreign Policy Isolationists AP: 12 Barracks construction halts for now (17/45) Construction of a Farm begins (12/40) Edited October 21, 2018 by Sovereign_of_Solaris

Vetren54 368 Share Posted October 21, 2018 Mekishiko Mandate Turn 6 A barbarian incursion looms on the horizon. Governor-General Iyoyushi Tokumaka makes preparations for a surgical strike against the Aztecs to cripple their ability to wage war. An elite unit of samurai, trained in stealth, take towards the rival native army camp. Under the cover of darkness, they carry out acts of sabotage, burning down food stores and the tents the enemy soldiers sleep in to starve out the enemy host and sow mass chaos. They poison the wells and the rivers that the natives drink from with excrement, hoping to spread smallpox to the un-immune natives. Meanwhile, at the capital of New Edo, the entire society is mobilized for war. Men are given a gun and immediately begin drilling for war. Japanese tradition values proficiency in weapons, and so the men will have already been accustomed to war and its burdens. Food reserves are brought inside the walls to ensure that the city can sustain a siege. The city defenses are manned and a series of outer watchtowers are established to provide early warnings. At the first sight of the natives, resources will be brought into the city to deny them to the savages. The newly recruited soldiers, for lack of barracks, are quartered in citizens homes for the greater good of the colony. LONG LIVE THE EMPEROR - BANZAI. Krefarus 65 Author Share Posted October 23, 2018 1604 Spring & Summer are upon us Time moves forward ______________________________________________________ Siege of New Edo Tensions had grown as soon as Japanese settlers landed on Mexican soil. Small exchanges between the settlers and the Native Aztecs had finally reached its peak. A native army of 12,000 had been assembled by the newly crowned Aztec Emperor, Amoxtl to finally wipe these strange foreigners out. The Japanese would not be taken easily. The army was harassed every step of the way, a mysterious fire ravaged the war camp and destroyed food supplies. Men rapidly began to fall sick. Rumors spread across the camp that the gods have cursed this conquest, or the new emperor. Regardless, local vassals are called upon to remedy the food supplies and the army marches west. Finally the day arrives, Aztec forces are spotted only hours away from New Edo. Alarm bells ring and soldiers take up their posts. The proceeding hours are seemingly quiet, nothing but the beating of hearts can be heard. Suddenly rom the treeline the noise of hundred of Aztec ‘Death Whistles’ can be heard. Many of the hastily trained men waver, but their officers order them to hold their ground. The whistles continue as thousands of Aztec rush from the trees towards New Edo, volleys of musket fire cut them down in droves. Arrows whiz towards the walls, muskets fire, and men cry out all while the death whistles ring out. For hours the Aztec onslaught continues, wave after wave is repelled by the defenders. Cannons from the Japanese fleet bombard the field of battle. on both sides the death tolls mount. Amoxtl, realizing New Edo may not be taken with force restrains himself and the tide finally stops. The outer city is rather unsuccessfully put to the torch and the Aztec army encircles the settlement, preparing for a seige.
