High King Edel Silvervein steps forward to speak before the population of Kaz’Ulrah.

“My friends, brothers and sisters, my Dwedmar kin! I stand before you today as the bearer of dark news. A reactionary cabal within our government has seen fit to attempt a coup on the established government, an action which has already cost the life of a noble Dwarf, Dwifur Goldhand! Dwifur was murdered in cold blood by Hamlin Frostbeard for speaking out against the shadowy council’s attempt to usurp the government! This council was NOT made of the legitimate representatives of the seven clans, but a group of puppets and liars attempting to cling to power, save for a few true-blooded leaders, including noble Dwifur. I hereby denounce the elections they are trying to hold and declare them illegal! All loyal Dwarves of Ulrah, stand by your rightful king in these dark times, and do not fall to the treachery and deceit of the traitors involved in the coup.”

“By Yemekar’s Will, We. Shall. Overcome.”

Lord Regent Morug steps forward holding a large stack of documents.

"Ye are not king of anything. First of all ye weren't even coronated yet. Ye do nay wear teh 'oly crown of Kaz'Ulrah. Ye were onleh elected. So ye cannay claim rule ovah teh dwed."

Morug presents a legal document,

"This law 'ere was established before ye were even elected. Anyone can call fer ehn impeachment vote among the clan fathers te remove the ruling monarch. So first of all, the vote itself is nay illegal and clearly stated in the teh constitution"

He cleared his throat and unrolled another piece of parchement,

"Here are teh signatures of all SEVEN clan fathas who signed and voted for yer impeachment. This includes yer own clan Edel. Teh Silverveins do not recognize ye as their king and ye should realize ye are alone in this vandetta. If ye truly cared about Ulrah ye would accept that teh people want anotha king. Accept et, move on. There is nothing illegal about this election. Yer claim te teh throne is the onleh illegal thing.

Ye try te gain te favor of yer people by lying te em lad? Et is sad te see ye go down this path. Ye could 'ave ran again fer teh position and redeemed yer name. But it seems ye are te far gone and ye are not fit to rule. Ye cannot make claims of illegitimacy without anything te back these claims."

"It's quite simple. All dwarves united under Urguan, then the Frostbeards rebelled, then several other dwarven factions emerged being az'adar, holm, and kaz'ulrah, but then several dwarves rebelled from ulrah becoming the confederation, a little while later az'adar merged with holm, but only a little bit, around this time the confederation rejoined ulrah, but not completely. Later Ord was formed and declared war on ulrah with the confederation, but ord disbanded shortly after, except it still exists a little bit, meanwhile the confederation kept on living. About this time az'adar started acting more independently from Holm but then went back to Holm.  Then, the grandaxe clan left ulrah and formed the kingdom of Bogrin. Now the current king of Ulrah was couped on and is declaring the coup illegal. All the meanwhile dozens of clans have come and gone and swapped in between the various factions blurring all lines of loyalty and causing mass confusion

Honestly, it's pretty obvious"

"In essence, Dwed, my point was that it seems to take one wrench in the works for everything to fall into disarray."

Einar Stormbreaker cackles as he hears of the 'royal' announcement, slapping his knee. "Har har har, ye are out of yer fookin' mind, Edel. Teh sky gods might've silenced me last toime, but ye know Ah speak true. Ye clutch onto that fake crown o' yers as a beardlin' does to his toys, little Edel. Oh, wait! - While in deep contemplation about the events that unfolded just recently, Thoak manages to find the time to hear about the recent speech given by Edel and write a formal letter to him with the aid of some nearby dwed.

“ Edel,

It is unfortunate that the time has already come where I must write in a letter to you regarding such matters. You’ve been led astray by dwed who do not or no longer have the best intentions of Kaz’Ulrah in mind. I’ve warned you that if you fight the results of the meeting held between SOVEREIGN Clanlords, a war will ensue and further kinslaying will happen. You’ve lost your support due to your inactions and ignorance on several matters. You put your interests before your kin and the Khazadmar of Kaz’Ulrah. You’ve been filled with deceit and lies of those that want to see the ultimate destruction of our kingdom our ancestors fought for. The Empire of Man is no threat, however through your actions you will eventually make them one and those that filled your head with Khorvad’s whispers will vanish, leaving you and our kin to fall on our blades. You say that you wished to seek advise from me? I will tell you this one thing. Preserve what honor you have left and willfully step down from the throne. Otherwise you will be treaded over like the rest who betrayed us.

Signed,

Thoak Goldhand”
