| THE BATTLE OF CARAS ELDAR |~

Any true druid realizes that the pulse of this world is one of death and rebirth. In the noblest sense, to die to is to be born again, through what you have left behind in those you love, and in your impact on the world.

Some, however, take a more literal approach to this. Life is fleeting, while the cycle is eternal. Embrace infinity.

Changelog:
NOTE: Changes organized based on the battle which took place prior to the change being put into effect.

August 18th, 2018 - Battle of San'Kala
    - Reduced minotaur spawnrates.
    - Reduced titan deployment by one per offensive battle.

September 8th, 2018 - Battle of M'Baku
    - One staff member will now be devoted to overseeing roleplay of September forces.
    - Reduced minotaur spawnrates (again).
    - Reduced unlorethy spawnrates.
    - Disabled PvP for September's forces.

October 6th, 2018 - Battle of Okarn'thilln
    - Increased communication regarding updates directly relevant to victory conditions (players missed broadcast indicating slaying of titans was required to defeat boss). These messages will now be repeated 2-3 times.
    - Temp Kill system updated. Additional communication with remaining playerbase added, to describe temp kill entirely on temp kill protocol activation. Previously, player was given super-item reward, as well as option to either (1) PK, in exchange for additional rewards, or (2) temporarily not play that character for several hours or days. Option (1) changed to include a Regeneration I buff to all team players in the warclaim, roleplayed as 'avenging [fallen player]'. Third option added which can be taken to immediately revive at site of battle in exchange for application of multiple insanities for same time period as option (2). Possibly adjust based on consent predictions.
    - Added 'scorched earth' policy to city attacks. In brief, when a PRO desires their city lose a warclaim, this information will now be provided to defenders at the start of the claim. An additional ET will be contracted to oversee defenders, who may now damage the city (e.g. demolish bridges or homes) when defending the territory. Defenders will receive speed I.
    - Added more clear indicators when the September Prince is using Thulean druidism.

October 13th, 2018 - First Kal'Bogrin Offensive
    - PvP will now be disabled in regions one hour prior to warclaims to avoid September forces harassing defenders.
    - Four Brothers' artifacts disabled in all future events due to concerns of lorebreaking among admins.
    - Increased titan deployment by one per defensive battle.
    - Camps during attacks are now required to be set up collectively, or otherwise within /leb distance.
    - Increased MC representation of player's attacks in the physical world, primarily through explosions, cave-ins, and collapses of generic structures. Provides better bombastic displays.
    - Replaced old five-phase PVE-RP system with new alternating PVP-PVE/RP system. In brief, previously warclaims had consisted of five phases of roleplay mixed with PvE, with September's forces able to RP combat. Now, warclaims consist of five phases alternating between RP, and then PVP-PVE. Increases player involvement as well as prevents sniping of people typing emotes.

October 27th, 2018 - Second Kal'Bogrin Offensive
    - Added communication protocols with leaders of offensives to promote staying past initial victory when fighting boss base.
    - Added spellcasting disruption to large entities fighting boss.
    - Added 'spawn pillars' to city attacks. In brief, cities will now have bedrock pillars within them which have green cloth blocks placed in them. When an area becomes compromised, this cloth will be changed to red. Mobs will only be spawned outside the city, or in these compromised area (except mobs with Deep Strike, such as harpies). Should avoid issues with mobs seemingly appearing out of nowhere.

December 9th, 2018 - Battle of Al-Damashq
    - List of regions the battleground falls in will now be produced prior to warclaim to avoid issues with PvP being enabled or disabled in the wrong regions.
    - Provided background lore to druid LT due to increased concerns of lorebreaking among druid players. Delmodan not currently available for feedback due to external concerns, but A_Keefy and Archipelego contracted for this purpose. Possibly suggest druid players direct questions concerning the lore through them in order to provide trustworthy medium while enabling secrecy.
    - WMDs disabled in all future events due to concerns of lorebreaking among admins.
    - Added changelog to warclaim posts due to concerns of not making changes in response to criticism.

December 29th, 2018 - Battle of Caras Eldar

//Ask FlamboyantRage to provide list of all things ET cannot invoke -- currently: Aengudaemons, Four Brothers' artifacts, dragons, reproducible WMDs (read: can be made without narrow-use macguffin).
//Future eventline modifications -- cannot change now due to unfairness to new players, but reduce RP item rewards and replace with standard MC item rewards (iron, wood, crafting reagents). Will have to contact [Admin] to argue for ET being able to spawn in items, again, or this likely not viable strategy.
//Future eventline modifications -- sit down with and explain to individual groups when the task they are trying to accomplish is almost insurmountable. Repeat this ad nauseum.
//Future eventline modifications -- when !historically notable! group entering into dangerous situation, force rolls to determine if they should fail, or the results of their failure. Do not shy away from providing narrow odds.
//Future eventline modifications -- publicize lore when it appertains to non-dark player magic groups. In case of combination, publicize as well. Hidden lore likely only viable when antagonist uses dark magic.

Aesopian's Guide to Fighting Dieties:

These battle scenarios will take place entirely in the normal world. The September Prince is a unique entity, and a challenge to slay. In the block below, you may read how to combat the September Prince in battle scenarios. Further down, you can read how to slay the September Prince.

The September Prince possesses a divine armor class, and so only takes damage from siege weapons, high-level magic (every five tiers of a magic possessed by the party grants one attack), and artifact weapons (message Aesopian over discord with a screenshot of the weapon at least one day before the event, and he will approve/deny it. You'll likely get only one attack using it). When he attacks a nation, you will be expected to use these tools to damage his Body Integrity. If you can reduce it enough, you will be able to drive him off. If you fail, then the region may be partially, or totally, destroyed.

Attacks led by the September Prince will consist of both PvE elements, in the form of fighting the September Prince's beasts and minions, and roleplay, in the form of emoting for siege weapons, magic, or artifact weapon attacks. Emotes must be spoken in shout. When you have finished emoting, message the staff member overseeing your target that you are launching an attack on them, and what that attack consists of. You do not need to carry artifact items with you in MC, simply sending Aesopian a picture beforehand is adequate.

Note that the Wakefulness attribute of the September Prince is now replaced with Soul Integrity. Soul Integrity begins at 90.0% (+0.1% due to return of one mana seed), and determines his maximum body integrity. Every week, the September Prince regenerates 4.0% of his Body Integrity, up to his current Soul Integrity. His Body Integrity may be harmed during battle scenarios. His Soul Integrity may be damaged by using artifact weapons of particular types, dark magic of a sufficient tier, or by destroying his soul trees. You will be able to find these soul trees scattered throughout the map, identifiable by their green glass leaves and by signs. Attacking one of these trees requires a party of at least four, and is a challenge in-and-of-itself. Details regarding these battles are present in the general September help thread.

The battle for Al-Damashq was a rare victory for the descendants. After the September Prince had been softened by siege fire and a colossal dwarven automaton, the use of a secret Kadarsi superweapon was enough to severely wound the great monster. The prince seems to recognize this, and seeks to recuperate some of his strength. Legend holds that, somewhere deep in the Loftywoods, there rests a mysterious portal to the fae realms. However, the presence of civilization – particularly the city of Caras Eldar – inhibits the connection between the fae and the material world. The city must be purged in order for the September Prince to travel to the fae realms and regenerate.

Summer turns to autumn, autumn turns to winter, winter turns to spring, spring turns to summer, and the whole cycle repeats again, ‘til time’s cruel end.

Ok. Can we be done yet?

Could be! Show up, and fight your heart out. The September Prince is weakened after the Kadarsi battle, so you are in a strong position!

Ascanius wanders the Loftywoods with a troop of men, his journey leading them back to the former capital of the Elves, Caras Eldar.

“See all his glory and power, and know that all your doubts and fears should be vigorously starved. Do not let these elements take you astray from the true path of the Aspects.

Man has scarred this land through the seeds of their own destruction and in all of this, nature finally revolts.

Let’s do this, September.”

A particular druidess, fond of her home within the Loftywoods, hears news of the travelling band of September followers; thus she sends a messenger.

“You do not speak for nature nor the Aspects. Come and face me; challenge me. I will show you when nature truly revolts, and not this malformed chaos that your daemon prince wishes to assert.”

The druidess waited for any indication from the animal messenger.

Put the warclaim on the ******* war server, please, so the lag isnt awful and we dont have region-blocks on PvP.

No, because the war-server isn’t set up to allow players to be able to role-play and certain groups are role-playing during the PvE as to defeat the September Prince.

Then make edits to the war server. The main server is not fit to handle the massive warclaim, as people in the events can attest.

The edits that would be required could potentially cause lag in the war server, the whole point of that server is to be as barebones as possible.

Evar'tir sat up within the branches of the canopy of the Loftywoods, a scouting patrol of Talarehian plated men perched, hidden, amongst the trees with him. They had drawn and knocked recurve warbows, taking aim for the troop of September's forces, though awaiting confirmation. The patrol officer looked to Evar expectantly, though all he was given was a raised, clenched gauntlet to signal a hold on fire.

"Let them come. When they do, we will be ready."

His eyes trailed to follow Ascanius as it headed for Caras, and his scarred visage pulled back into a brief snarl of distain. The 'Ker watched as the forces trudged on, and with a flick of his gauntlet, the patrol started to ascend further into the canopy.

“A man who had to get his powers from a false prophet thinks he knows the way of the Aspects? I could cast you down boy, don’t think for a second you think this is what the Aspects want. The destruction of the city that spreaded their praise to be wiped clean away? That’s counter productive.” The Bone Druid laughed out, a look of ease and calm over his features. “Fight me. Let me show you how easily your weak powers from the prince can be stuffed out of you. Every druid in the order is able to strike you down with ease like the worm you are. In the eyes of the Order and more importantly the Aspects you’re still a failure of a dedicant.” He moved to prepare himself for the battle, he grew tired and irritated of the Prince’s petty and worthless existance.
