The Kingdom of Rihad

TcyIsrl.jpg

Haserick looked at the map of Hamerfell and frowned. Hammerfell was already sparsely controlled by the Redguard and now Skaven had conquered another redguard kingdom. That was most worrying. He needed to do something about this. Simply investing into the economy would not do, he would need an army in order to protect his kingdom and Hammerfell in general. Thus he called Braika to the war room.

When Braika arrived in the war room Haserick pointed to the map. Showing the recent aquisitions of Skaven. This cannot stand. With Skaven conquering even more land they will soon grow stronger and possibly further West. Furthermore, they are oppressig the redguard who live in their territory. Thus we need to prepare an army for either defense or offense. We cannot allow any more of Hamerfall to be conquered by these Imperials.

Haserick’s military commander smiled at this a little gingerly. She had been one of the most prominent figures in court pushing for increased militerization of the kingdom. Whilst her brother was more focused on developing the economy. However, Haserick knew that right now he needed to make sure the army was strong. Because if it was not his kingdom and Hamerfall in general would inevitably fall. Then Haserick said the specific number of troops he wanted and how much of the treasury would be used for this Braika’s smile grew even larger. She truly liked the numbers she heard, especially considering the composition of the army.

Whilst she herself normally preferred heavy infantry she knew a balanced composition of the army was the best option. Soon after she left in order to mobilize the troops her lord demanded.

X=====][  Kingdom of Orsinium  ][=====X

4E 839

GbGso1I.png

In the year 4E 839, King Agrum gro-Kharog demanded the vassalisation of the Breton duchy of Northpoint. To cement his claim, the Grand Army of Orsinium was deployed en masse into Northpoint’s territory. They march directly to Northpoint City and encamp there, where Agrum gives the following speech to his lords, and the invited leaders of local strongholds.

“My father’s conquests took much land from the Breton dukes. Land that in time they will want back. Mark my words, when we are weakened, they shall strike to reclaim their land, and they shall not stop until Orsinium is in ashes once more and our people scattered to the winds. This I cannot allow. For the security of our nation, the Bretons must be cowed. They will either fear us in independence, or serve us as vassals. So it must be that Northpoint must be bent to the Kingdom of Orsinium.”

War and vassalisation aside, missives are sent round across Orsinium for wives for King Agrum. A nasty outbreak of Khnahaten Flu had left his entire household either dead or barren... therefore, Agrum seeks new wives to make new heirs.

Archduchy of Camlorn

The third year of Silus’ rule dawns and already the tides of politics and war were engulfing him again. Following the demands and invasion of the Orsimer into the Archduchy of Northpoint, for whose ruler he has vowed to marry, it was required that the Archduke of Camlorn takes action. Agreeing to the proposed Non Aggression Pacts going with the trade agreements with Northpoint, GIlane and Sentinel, he also additionally counterproposes a formal Alliance not only to Northpoint, but also to the Kingdom of Sentinel. For the latter the strongest argument was, that the Orsimer, as they were marching on Northpoint, would not halt in their crusade and turn South once the Breton Realms fell. And that did indeed include Sentinel.

To show his true intent of securing peace and prosperity in the region, the Archduchy of Camlorn declares war on the Kingdom of Orsinium and immediately a day after the messenger left the realm, the second army of Camlorn crosses the border to claim the Southern reaches of it. Mountains and hills were more than familiar to the Bretons, the advance to be executed carefully. Any Breton towns and villages were to be notified by the advancing troops, to join up against the Orcish suppressors and join in the fight against them, as they continued to raid and plunder their homelands and their people.

The First Army that had already liberated the regions around the city of Daggerfall was to hold its advance, dig in and fortify the regions, prepare ambushes and traps, chokepoints against any Redguard sallies out of Daggerfall itself.

The trade agreements and NAPs are signed with all three receipients.

The Kingdom of Sentinel is approached and warned about the threat the Kingdom of Orsinium may pose in the future for itself and other realms to the South. They are approached with an alliance offer and to join forces to contain the threat before it gets out of control. ((Mod))

In attempt to extend trade and prosperity, merchants of Camlorn travel further south and east, approaching Skaven, Dragonstar and Rihad. The first two are also being warned about the threat that could evolve through the Kingdom of Orsinium and are told to take preemptive measures to prevent a failing of their realms. ((Mod))

Golden Kingdom of Aurion

the_elder_scrolls__flag_of_the_aldmeri_d

Queen Athaere stood with Adus as they looked over a provincial map of Summerset Isles. Adus points out several provinces. “We met little to no resistance here..through here.” He places markers on the newly conquered areas.

“They must be consolidating somewhere, I suspect it’s the Northern Major.”

“It’s Auridon.” she says, he looks to her perplexed “I’d disagree your grace, I’m sure Auridon is a focus, but they wouldn’t abandon the mainland to us.”

“I would bet my life they have, They are likely focusing on a major fleet to attack our coasts once our armies reach so far north and our south is undefended.”

“What are you asking then?”

“I want you to take more of our budget and focus on our Navy...also cancel all further offenses on the mainland. Assign the 1st Army and have them guard our mainland borders, then I want you to lead the 2nd Army and attack here..” she gestures to the map.

“My lady..It’s a rather sudden shift in our attempts. What if we’re wrong?”

“If I’m wrong, then thousands could die. I don’t have the luxury of being overly cautious Adus, This is what must be done before they think we’re on to them.”

Adus would bow before her “I’ll carry the orders personally.”

The Power in the Swamp:

0iwKfAA.png

Merchant Republic of Leyawiin:

The war with the Stonewastes finish within the year, the entire argonian army is routed. With help from the Sarpa. The Cyrodiil regions are reconquered. After the war, the army is dispersed to put down any rebels. With these new territories, this boosts Leyawiin’s power. However, the Imperial population in this territory has diminished. Argonians making up a large percentage of the inhabitants of this territory.

Economic investments are made. (+1,000 per turn)

Grand Duchy of Cheydinhal:

The invasion of Oreleth goes surprisingly well, as they encounter little to no resistance in Cyrodiil. Occupying all of the territories and begin to lay siege upon Kragenmoor. With these successes many believe the war to be won already. However, rumors say that the Dunmer are coming to reclaim their territories.

Construction continues, basic stone walls being erected. With this small investment, the garrison expands to about 200.

Envoys and merchants from Dune arrive in Cheydinal, requesting an audience with the Grand Duke over business he may be interested in. Which will benefit both Dune and Cheydinhal.

Jarldom of the Rift:

The city of Riften expands, more housing and farmlands are built. The population increases considerably. With this taxes increase significantly. As well with this, the dockyards expand once more. Reaching maximum capacity. (+ 6,000 Septims per turn )

The expansion of Riften prompts many migrants to travel to the city. A majority of them being Argonians from Blackmarsh, they settle inside of the city. Many of them finding work in the docks, as well as some joining the city guard. This sudden influx of Argonians begins to create more jobs and businesses.

The training of the army begins, many of the men have never fought before. So this training increases both the professionalism as well as their experience twice fold. Now all they need is a bit of combat, which they get very quickly.

The city guard is sent in to clear the Ratways, exterminating any thieves guild member or associate. The city ran red with blood, after this the army was sent out all across the Rifts territories. Killing anybody they deemed to be a criminal.

Carsten goes on another adventure, talking to both the Lords of Bruma and Chorral.

Jarldom of Windhelm:

The envoys sent to the surrounding nations return with good news. Whiterun and the Pale are willing to allow Windhelm to set up trading posts. Which will increase both the income of Windhelm, but as well as the income of the Pale and Whiterun. These trading post will take a year to construct. So the benefits will not be available immediately. Oskar’s advisors recommend that a council of merchants is created, to streamline the trade coming in and out of Windhelm.

Riders sent out to Dragonstar and Morthal report that their forces combined don’t even compare to the Windhelm army. However it is possible by the end of this year, their numbers may have replenished. The scouts sent to Chorral tell of a force 20,000 strong and growing.

The secret meeting occurs, in which the topics discussed is known to only those who attended...and those individuals alone.

Skirmishers are sent to Whiterun. Scouting out their forces, they number about 20,000. Being comprised of Heavy Infantry and archers, with a small force of light infantry and cavalry. They are currently stationed near the border with Dawnstar.

Heavy infantry begin to patrol the streets, however now the Dunmer have simply refused to pay the tax. Causing mass unrest and riots within the Grey Quarter, the Captain of the guard requests that they go in and…”quell” this uprising.

Kingdom of Rihad:

During the majority of the year, all is quiet in the Kingdom of Rihad. Life continues as normal. However later in the year, an envoy from Sentinel arrives. Asking the King of Rihad to join the Grand Coalition against the warmongering Orcish Kingdom. Who have declared war against the Arch-duchy of Northpoint in order to vassalize them.

Khajiit merchants also arrive in Rihad, asking for an audience with the King in order to discuss business that he would be most interested in. These merchants are from the Kingdom of the Dune.

Kingdom of Orsinium:

War is declared, the Orsinium army marches to the city of Northpoint. Setting up camp around its walls. Already the Strongholds in Northpoint pledge their support to Orsinium. Raising up an additional 4,000 heavy infantry for the Orsinium army.

The Duchy of Solitude, Skaven, Dragonstar, and the Kingdom of Sentinel all declare war upon Orsinium. They claim to protect Northpoint and curb the power of Orsinium before they endanger the entirety of Tamriel. These declarations of war do not frighten the Orcish army, they welcome it actually. This war will either cement the Kingdom of the dominant power in the region, or it will be swept away in the history books.

The war attracts many mercenary companies to Orsinium, offering their services in the war. Of course they expect loot and riches, as well as a steady payment every month. Many suitable wives are brought to the King. Allowing him the choice to whichever he pleases. Final economic investments are made. (+1,000 Septims per turn)

Archduchy of Camlorn:

War is declared, the army of Camlorn marches to meet the army of Northpoint. The commander of the Northpoint army tells Silus that the Archduchess is trapped in the city, as the orcs have camped around it. Cutting it off from the rest of the nation. As a result, the envoys could not reach the city.

Messengers from Dragonstar, Skaven and Solitude reach Silus. Telling they have pledged their forces in the gallant feat of arms. Ready to defend the sovereignty of Northpoint. The Kingdom of Hegathe joins the war on the side of Orsinium. Moving their troops into Sentinel’s territories.

Investments are made into the economy, providing high taxes and more jobs for the peasants. (+1,000 per turn)

Kingdom of Aurion:

The war begins to go drastically south for Aurion, when the 1st army is completely wiped out. Leaving only the second army standing. Threatened to be trapped on Auridon. However, the naval battle that ensued ended in a draw. Which in this context, is a victory for Aurion. Now the Auridon army is threatening a push towards the Capital itself, which could end the war.

The navy finally constructs two warships, they are a good size and are able to take a beating from both projectiles and to some extent. Magic. Auridon retakes their lost territories, and make frequent excursions into Aurion territory. Stealing supplies and cattle from the farmers.

Merchants from the Duchy of Torval arrive in Aurion, requesting an audience with the Queen.

The Kingdom of Senchal:

The bandits are captured and executed. Checkpoints are created in order to prevent the plague from spreading into Senchal. Which indeed prevents it from spreading any further into Elsweyr. The plague is contained in Valenwood. Decimating the Wood Elves.

A drydock begins construction, by the end of the year. A suitable dock is built. Able to construct ships much faster and much cheaper than ever before.

Not much happens in Senchal, the people are happy and the realm is at peace.

Elsweyr:

Advisers are hired, anyways. The leader of Dune patiently waits for the Mane to arrive. Investment into social programs is a new concept in Tamriel. Thus many don’t what to do with this investment. A few monks and priests have used this money to fund free healthcare. Along with this, there is an economic boost from the investment. (+1,000 Septims per turn)

Grand Duchy of Kvatch:

Even more men and women join the Kvatch Legion, making it one of the biggest fighting forces in the known world. Although they have numbers, the Kvatch troops are not experienced. Only completing basic training they have no combat experience.

Two sons are born, the older one being named Titus. The younger one being named Tiber. Iyria does not have any complications during the birth and is recovering.

Later in the year, many Khajiits turn up to the gates of Kvatch. They have come from Dune and want to enter Kvatch for work. Some to settle and raise their families. As well as an eagle from the Knights of the nine, calling Marcus to their headquarters.

World Events:

A new nation is born in the harsh swamps of Blackmarsh, the Kingdom of Argonia is created. Ruled by a young warlord by the name of Jaxil Rikari, this development sends Morrowind into a bit of a panic, as the Argonians announce their ambitions. The complete and utter eradication of the Dunmer race.

For now, they wish to modernize the Argonian state, sending envoys to Kvatch and Chorral. With a request to study their legions and military tactics. Envoys are sent to Elsweyr and Senchal with a request to study trade practices and trading methods. The final set of envoys are sent to the Rift and Windhelm. With requests to study weapon and armor forging.

The Rift

With the new year still being fresh, the young Jarl looks to act on the deals made with Chim, a grant is to be given to the at the price of 6,000 gold. On Top of this a merchant hub is to be built in Riften this year, and one in chim the next. Hoping to expand Riften grasp on trade in the north of Tamriel.

An agreement is made with Chim to have their engineers build trebuchets for Riten, this will only project the holds power further, hopefully projecting the Rifts military prowess further.

With the arrival of the Argonians in Riften, a counter offer is made. Now the lizardmen would bring experienced restoration mages to train the Nords in the temple of Mara.

And with their apparent weaknesses the Rifts Army will march into Oreleth to claim the rest of their lands before any other nation could, if contact is made with another's army they would be given the option to leave, or face Riftens forces.

Marcus Orentius. 4E 841.

The night was dark and the wind was howling. Kvatch was relatively quite with most of the noise coming from establishments. In Castle Kvatch sat Marcus by candlelight with his newborn son's Tytus and Tiber. He looked at his sons and thought of their future. The realisation that they are the future of Kvatch lit a fire into Marcus’ belly…(or the stew he had early that day.) He wanted to give them a kingdom to rule when he was long gone and resting in the dirt with nothing to remember him besides his name and legacy. While he was alone in thought a messenger opened his chamber door notifying him of the eagle that had come from Anvil with news from his Grandmaster that his presence was needed, along with this news came with word that Khajiit were flooding to the gate looking for work. They were allowed to enter but only after intense screenings were done.

As for the Argonian envoy sent to study tactics, he was greeting with welcoming arms. The only thing Marcus requested was payment for allowing access to the knowledge. 8,000 Septims should be enough to cover the cost. On the topic of militaries, while watching the training of soldiers it had hit him that the soldiers hadn’t had a rigours training to turn them into disciplined killing machines. That had to be fixed, and so a large amount of money was allocated to doing so. Along with these training exercises came more recruiting orders for foot infantry and heavy cavalry. Nothing else in the year had appeared to take the attention of Marcus.

Archduchy of Camlorn

“To battle men and women of High Rock! To battle! For Northpoint, for freedom, for our homes and our people!” comes the lonesome battlecry at first, originating from nobody else than Silus himself, mounted wearing blue and silver. He is to be joined by the roars of the combined forces of Camlorn and Northpoint, as they descend on towards the Orcish siege lines around the city of Northpoint, a series of catapults on a hill behind them focused on firing at the siege weaponry the orcs have brought. This would certainly become a bloody night. One to begin the fourth year of Silus’ reign as Archduke of Camlorn.

The newly found Coalition members in the East are certainly the aid required in crushing this menace early on. The only recommendation Camlorn hints, is that they’d attempt to occupy the countryside first before going into active sieges, in order to starve out the Orcs.

The First Army that had already liberated the regions around the city of Daggerfall continues to dig in and fortify the regions, prepare ambushes and traps, chokepoints against any Redguard sallies out of Daggerfall itself.

The war against Oreleth had gone surprisingly well; the Cheydinhal legions had swept across their enemies land with swiftness and had not encountered any significant resistance bar the garrison of Harlun’s Watch which had been bribed to surrender, after two weeks the legions had converged on the capital of Oreleth itself. The two armies had converged outside and had settled in for a long siege. The easiness of the assault was disconcerting to the Legates, who were convinced that the Dunmer were preparing for a counter offensive, however the Duke dismissed this as Dunmer cowardice. Still, the Legions would be prepared. Their objective now, was to capture Kragenmoor.

To aid with this, further siege engines were constructed and escorted by small Light Cavalry battalions pulled off the First Legion. However, from now on the Duke would look to his economy. To begin with, the small dock’s of Cheydinhal were expanded into dock-yards to increase the flow of trade and septims into the city. Construction on the fort in the south was further continued, especially with news of an Argonian state rising in the south defense was paramount.  The Khajit travelers to the city were shown to the Duke and he accepted their offer of a Merchants guild in Cheydinhal to accompany his new docks.  Messengers would be sent to Leyawiin with a proposal.

With victory against Oreleth at the end of the year, the second Legion would march south to fortify the southern fort while the first Legion entered Cheydinhal to much celebration from it’s citizentry. Gnaeus’s war had been a success and he spent the rest of the year doing the ‘bam-bam’ with his wife to produce an heir. Messengers would be sent to the court of the King of Argonia.

“SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF MALACATH!”

Agrum stands at the head of his army, resplendent in a full suit of Orc-forged plate, a warhammer raised high above his head. The City of Northpoint lies in the background, as yet untouched by Orcish siege weapons. The combined forces of Northpoint and their Camlorn allies await on the hills nearby.

“For THREE THOUSAND YEARS, have the Orsimer been spat on, shat on and shafted by the so called ‘civilised races’!”

Grumbles of anger and discontent ripple through the Orcish lines.

“Whenever we declare our right to rule ourselves, to rule our lands in our own name we have been STAMPED DOWN by those who fear our might! Torug gro-Igron’s city was laid low by the fears of Bretons and Redguards. Gortwog’s city was destroyed by the Imperial despots from Cyrodiil! Now those forces come at us again, when we have taken FIRST BLOOD in the inevitable battle. NEVER AGAIN will Orsinium wait to be struck down. NEVER AGAIN will Orsinium beg for its right to exist. WE ARE ORSIMER! We are the Children of the Pariah God, hated from birth, feared for our strength. They say WE are the aggressors, when we all know that should we grow complacent that they will strike us down, to keep us in our place. They deny us our kingdom, but when theirs needed building they demanded our service. ORC BLOOD built the COVENANT. ORC BLOOD built the LEGIONS. And now, ORC BLOOD will build ORSINIUM. They think themselves our betters, they who cherish our blood shed on their fields in their names, and our weapons and armour in their hands. We are the greatest and bravest warriors Tamriel has EVER known! AND WE DEMAND OUR RIGHT TO RULE!”

The Grand Army breaks out in a cacophany of roars and cheers. Agrum turns to his adjutants. “Re-align the catapults. Ready the Mages. Prepare for combat on the field.”

Actions:

  • Imperial intervention by Dragonstar and Skaven is decried as Cyrodiilic colonialism. This is a matter for the denizens of the north-west, not for predatory nobles who claim lands far from their ancestral territory. This is made clear by town criers in various nations.
  • Solitude is rebuked for its intervention. The Nords and the Orcs have had a long history of friendship (or at the very least, tolerance). To see the sons of Solitude siding with Bretons and Imperials shames their noble bloodline. Diplomats in Windhelm implore Jarl Oskar to speak sense to his kinsmen. Surely the Nords would do better securing their own province from foreign invaders rather than adventuring into a conflict in High Rock?
  • Hegathe is thanked for its support. In response, Orsinium officially recognises the Hegathan claim to Daggerfall and the Glenumbra Peninsula in perpetuity, with the exception of the small island of Betnikh, an Orsimer Stronghold. The Hegathans will be duly compensated for the island at the conclusion of the war.
  • Orcish Strongholds in the traditionally EXTREMELY Orcish Dragontail mountains are encouraged to rebel. King Agrum had intended for peace with the Redguards, but no longer. The Orcs of Dragontail are brothers to their Wrothgarian kin. Show no mercy to the meddling Sentinels!
  • King Agrum arranges marriages with various prominent warrior women, stronghold princesses and even a Grand Army officer. Bam Bam must wait, however. There’s a battle to be won!
  • BATTLE TAKES PLACE AT NORTHPOINT CITY.

Investment:

  • 8000 Septims – Mercenary bands are recruited for basic defense of Kingdom and harassment of the invading enemy armies, particular in the east of the kingdom against the Nords and Imperials. The aim is to slow those armies down. Hit and run attacks are suggested.

Recruitment:

  • 3000 Septims – 6000 Orcish Longbowmen are recruited.
  • 6000 Septims – 4000 Orcish Heavy Infantry are recruited.
  • 4000 Septims – 4000 Orcish Skirmishers are recruited.
  • 2000 Septims – 5 Catapults are constructed.

All of the above are rallied at Orsinium City itself, to bolster the standing Garrison and prepare for counter-attacks.
