More industrial production in the name of efficiency. How can the Foundry produce the droids necessary to operate its neverending production lines, if it does not have more production lines? A logical fallacy that must be solved at all costs. This cost is of course, in energy, as more industrial sectors are designated, and more worker bots dedicated to their construction. (15.000 into Heavy Industry) (6 stacks)

Science programs continue project A1 to develop better functioning droid bodies, and other physical attributes such as sight, speed, strength, etc. (1RP) (2RP invested)

Other science programs continue project A2, improving droid software, anti-hacking, better reactions, better thought processes, better logic networks, better symbiotic actions with other softwares in one body, etc. (1RP) (2RP invested)

One factory ship is sent to the northern sector to establish a Foundry factory. Upon landing, the droids dedicated to the task begin scouring the planet for resources. (1 colony ship)

15(.000.000) tons of alloys are fed into the Industrial sectors for the production of a new batch of worker units. A momentous moment in the Foundry’s history... if the robots cared about momentous events. Today is a solar rotation like any other, with increased productivity at its end. (15 A x 75 million robots.)

The Grand Empire

1258 AE, 9 Ro. 23

[2202 Sol Calendar Date]

Shivering, shouting. The elements, straying from their natures.

“Lieutenant, up!”

Quiet whispers, draining the colors of the world. Fear, fear of what lay beyond the ruins of a wall between him and the brink. He covered his ears, shook his head. How? When?

Then, bursts of color once more.

Harmony. Lae.

Ell’unax gasped for air, nodding, breathing. He looked to his left, to the headless Captain Kom’tul, to his right, where a dozen local, nameless police lay charred on the ground, where Lae bandaged her stomach, injected herself with stimulants. His pulse quickened, he rolled onto his knees, he stood, and the light that blasted from his hands blinded even himself.

A shot rang by his ear, more. Gunfire. He ducked again, behind the fast-falling wall of cracked earth and mud, felt his cheek. Blood. Shimmering, opaque shields began forming, and waves of fire rolled over them, shattered them, burned the men behind them before water washed them back. Screams, shouts, shots. He stood again, fired again, great beams of electricity shooting across the battlefield, the smell of ozone washing away the scents of battle for just a second. The earth began to shake, bullets flew stray courses, blown faster, further, more awry by sudden winds, hit those that had shot them.

”Shields!”

More shots, a bullet through the mound. Searing, shocking pain. Shoulder. A woman’s screaming, women screaming, a man dying, men dying. Adrenaline, a raised gun, his gun, bullets flying away, gusts carrying them forward, charging towards the enemy, the rebels, the barbarians. His soldiers flew, no, parts of them flew, charred, bloody parts of them. He turned again, reached into his kit, injected himself. The shimmer in the sky once more, darkened skies once more, shattered shields once more.

Popping, ringing, shockwaves. Mortars. Shouting, comrades putting on masks, more ringing, his mind clearing once more. They were being outmaneuvered. The Allini are everywhere. He was tired. He stood again, shouted again, pushed his good hand out, and the enemy died again. He couldn’t control himself, he couldn’t see the other side. Hissing, drumming, screaming, acid. Lae fell at his feet, her eyes open, and canisters once more arced across the battlefield, followed close by balls of fire. Death. He could feel it, inching, walking, running towards him, and he grinned. He laughed, and the ringing turned to shrill screaming, and he fell to the dirt.

Imperial News Network Public Broadcasts

The Sons of Allin have reportedly been crushed in the outskirts of Ers Prime, a psionic battle and gunfight breaking out in which GEPF forces easily triumphed over the outworlder rebels. To much fanfare, Lieutenant Ell’unax of the Foundation Police has been awarded a Medal of Distinguished Merits by General Vem’tal in the Imperial Heart.

Civilian reforms are passed unanimously in the Da’koll Higher Bodies, allowing the Empress’ Court full authority over further measures in Grand Empire territories. On Lev’arum, companies receive contracts to revitalize vast portions of national infrastructure, and bright minds are hired en masse from the GEPF Training Centers and Grand Empire Higher Learning Centers to direct new, localized projects designed to build up key businesses. Apparently, work has moved so quickly that it is projected to finish in only 11 more Ro.

Terrorist attacks in Er City, as a speech by the Imperator at the yearly “Imperium Day” festivities is cut off by shooting in the crowd, killing fifteen and injuring a hundred and twenty more. The Imperator and his family are unharmed, but it is vowed that the criminals, and those related to them by three generations, will be apprehended and executed.

The Starship G.E.F. Edict is projected to launch later this Ro as the final boarding tickets are announced by Duke Amse’sok. It is due outward from the galactic core, past Ers, where plans have said that it is preparing to become a new industrial centerpiece of the Grand Empire.

The 32nd Ta Empire has decisively defeated the 14th Ta Empire in a battle at Fury Lake, with seven Tier 6 and above psionics confirmed dead and fifteen more hospitalized. In response, the Ta’par Empire has declared for the 32nd Ta Empire, marrying their Princess So’par to Prince Rikkor’ta. Mobilization of further forces has begun, with a reported eighteen Tier 6 and above psionics further mobilized by Ta’par.

The Ta’xxar Empire has declared war on the Ta’iun Empire after their demand of the return of Princess Qu’ell of Ta’ell is rejected. The High Kingdom of Ta’ell has joined on the side of Ta’xxar, and vowed to raze Opan, capital of Ta’iun, to the ground.

The Vin’oll People’s Republic has declared once more that their Flow Psionic Pol, now four rotations old, will finally end the tyranny of the Grand Empire.

Unpowered – Non-psionic. In many ways, a lower caste of citizenry among the Da’nor, with restricted roles in the touted military and police forces, and lesser roles in many sectors such as entertainment and sales.

Fury Lake – It is said that when Peuryal’ta crossed from Rikkoran, the first great alliance of Ta rose to meet him as he camped along its shores. He is said to have killed a hundred psionic warriors alone, crippled a thousand more, and that his blades danced like courtesans through chinks in armor and past spears and shields.

Nyr had been completed, and to the stars it went. Voyaging around controlled Enclave sectors, Ever watchful, and ever guarding. Meanwhile on the the home sector Isiona, unrest was being quelled as labor strikes had been enacted as the foremen who sought the upgrade of the planet’s infrastructure got muddy and confused with individual schematics. Eventually the Civil sector was decided on and improvements were made swiftly. Whilst with in the sector Hads, materials were beginning to be produced, securing a stable supply of resources for further en devours. As the previous year ended, a hardened battalion of soldiers were enlisted and trained. With the ending of the previous year came their graduation to a full-time battalion aimed at protecting the Isiona Sector.

It was noticed that on Nyr’s sector wide voyage, that speed seemed to be slow and unsatisfactory, with this the orders came to research a faster way to travel among the ether. Security was lacking on the outer sector of Hads, and the council deemed it fit to raise another battalion of soldiers, this time on the outer sector. As the revenue came in, the council could not help but realize they’d need to do far more maintenance and build up their civilian sector, and thus more building was ordered.

CORRUPTOR DOMINION

Memories flickered through what was left of the lithe creature’s mind as it crept through a ruined husk of a city. It had corrupted this place, but there was more out there. It knew this, for it could remember it from a time long ago. A people of starry eyes and powerful minds....a people who had abandoned her. In her previous, inferior form, she had forgiven them. Now the nameless corruptor felt only resentment. There would be no mercy for her former people when they were discovered. The Corruptors were reborn, and they would root out the Saryn from the galaxy wherever they were found.

None of the arachnid terrors stopped her along her path, though she knew they all wanted to. Dirty, ugly, worthless brutes, all of them. When the galaxy was finally corrupted, she would finally be able to rid herself of them, but not yet. For now they feared her, and she needed their help.

A ruined plaza had been cleared of debris, and now served as a launch pad. In its center was a newly-constructed frigate, and if the creature was not in a permanently bad mood she might have smiled. At last, she could leave this world. This ship, the first of many, would take her to distant stars, where she would find new prey. She doubted there would be much resistance. These puny creatures had fallen to her alone, what could the universe do against an army?

So the once-beautiful monster boarded her ship and prepared to set sail. She was no longer bound to a single planet, and neither was the disease she brought with her. An infestation would soon become an empire...

Statistics

image.thumb.png.9995da1b47745e173690c9773c121c08.png

[Mod] - The Corruptors turn their ears to the stars, listening for foolish transmissions from unsuspecting prey.

27k/50k C - Shipyard L2 - Reawakened monsters which can only see their mangled selves in their comrades, the Corruptors have little stomach for cooperation. Their work is ramshackle, and each laborer credits itself with the entire product. Still, through sheer necessity and brute terror inflicted on the weak, progress is made. In the skies above their new planet, the galaxy’s master race expands their shipyard, creating a forge from which they can arm themselves.

4M - Frigate - The ship has no name, for each Corruptor wishes to name it after itself and will not acknowledge it as anything else. Yet all are pleased to see it take flight, for it is the first weapon of many.

2R - Itoron Extraction - Great veins of black ore are spread throughout this world. Nothing seems to cut through it, and nobody seems to have ideas. The Corruptors who are momentarily in charge threaten to break the limbs of those who used to be scientists unless they figure it out.

Quercus Quorum

Spoiler

2100x1313_px_Buddhism_grass_Green_landsc

Outskirts of Vittaria, Capital of the Quercus

News and words sped across the atmosphere of Pellaea, the Adaptaar speaking of their current great work. Their homes, cities, industry is almost invisible against the lush forests, the brick spires breaching the canopy. The mood on the streets was jubilant, for great things were abound.

“As I said, the tests are complete, the test engines worked in Sub-Orbit”

“Yes, but we wish to journey into the EXTRA-Stellar, not meddle above our atmosphere.”

“Yes, yes, yes, it will make the journey, albiet slowly.”

The two Adaptaar scrutinised the plans once more, before the High Archon spoke,

“Well, slowly will have to do. There is much room out there Scabra, and eventually we shall find him, as he once found us.”

The Metal singer nodded,

“Yes, we will find Him eventually, it is our purpose to give back to him, as he once gave to us.”

“Yes Scabra, you have it completely. But we must expand forth unto the stars, for Pallaea cannot be all that is!”

The two continued to speak into the night, and many more to follow, plans being hammered into reality.

The two Adaptaar stared at the wall, their black orbs gazing into the depths of the brick.

Do you have it? Can you hear?

One of the two, adorned in simple garments jolted out of his seat,
”Have you begun yet?”

The speaker tutted, half a world away,

“Yes, yes I have. We shall work into this until we wither, so help me.”

With that, the Mind Speaker continued to try and telepath her thoughts across a globe

The Adaptaar worked the field, his body taught with exertion. He continued this, for the day, until he set down his tools, repairing the fence. He hopped into his transport, ran on B-Fuel, and started the engine.

His Cellulose Device pinged him, his loved one telling him to look at the news. Intrigued, he bought it up on the screen.

“My fellow citizens of Pallaea! We have come so far, and soon we shall move amongst the stars! Our quest to seek the Old One has begun!”

With disgust, the man turned off the broadcast:

“It’s all about that ‘Gift’ of theirs isn’t it? Seems like they’re cursed with collowing it blindly.”

He shakes his head, spitting out the window, as he travels home.

Every eye, well most eyes, were peeled to the screens, while hundreds of thousands had travesed from far and wide to cluster on the cliff face. Out to sea was a square of steel, a large vessel standing upon it.

“My fellow citizens of Pallaea! We have come so far, and soon we shall move amongst the stars! Our quest to seek the Old One has begun!”

The High Archon gazed at his people, the fellow devout Adaptaar gazing back at his televised self. A thought arrived to him, from scant meters away, out of shot.

They are ready to launch, launching  in T- 10...

“And so, 9, we can, 8, look upon, 7, the stars, 6, and know, 5, that our, 4, brethren, 3, are, 2, amongst, 1, Them!

Launch.

With a roar, the fusion engines began their nucleus bonding, and a glow trail imprinted upon the retina of the watching Adaptaar.

For the stars are now there for them to wander, in quest for their diety.

Imperium of Korinth

Current Emperor of the Imperium: Markus Helbrecht, long may he reign.

Perched in the port of the Capital city sat the completed colony ship displaying the Imperium’s Eagle proudly to her people. Massive crowds gathered all around the beautiful vessel. Some saying goodbye to loved ones, and others just there to watch and wish the brave passengers a safe voyage to wherever they may end up. This would not be the last colony ship to leave Korinthos though. The shipyard above the planet has two more shells of similar vessels being worked on tirelessly by dedicated shipwrights.

The only other major event that has happened on the Capital was a demonstration that took place directly outside the Imperial Palace gates. These protesters who numbered in thousands, were no doubt communists who wanted to send a message. Whatever that message may have been will never be known though seeing as the protesters were promptly and mercilessly gunned down by the Palace Guards at efficient pace. Many tried to run, but that only resulted in the bullets entering through the back of their traitorous bodies instead of the front.

The elevator rocked with the sudden stoppage of it’s cables above the compartment as both Magnus and Sophos arrived in one of the lowest levels of the Spire. “Showtime.” Muttered Magnus to Sophos. The two looked towards one another before stifling a laugh between them. Sophos extended his hand towards the man that was adorned in his usual burgundy suit, which Magnus quickly returned with a firm grasp around Sophos’ hand.

“Don’t cause a stir. Hm?” Sophos mused with an almost forced grin spreading across his wrinkled lips. Magnus couldn’t hold in his amusement at that as he chuckled. Typical Sophos, riding the wire on whatever situation arose before him or his allies. Magnus extended his off hand and placed it onto Sophos’ close shoulder. “Wars have been started for less, my friend. I’ll see you on the other side.” The two shook one another's hand for a second time and in turn the door opened between the two of them which Sophos exited into the upper observation deck above the council chambers.

As the doors closed once again, Magnus was alone. Truly alone. The hellfire which laid upon the other side of the doors before him was expected to be unmatched in comparison to the bombs which dropped upon their precious Sol nearly a century ago.

KECHUNG-HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

The elevator once more came to life as Magnus felt his weight shift upwards in his gut. Whether it was from the anxiety or the elevators movement was unknown to him. All he knew was that the elevators cabin felt as if it was becoming hotter sheerly from the heat from the flames outside. He reached within his jacket and withdrew a metallic flask that glinted against the lights of the elevator. At least his alcohol helped stump out the flames some. For a time, at least.

Magnus strode into the chambers as he stuffed the flask back into the pocket of his jacket with a sense of haste about him. The moment he laid eyes upon the man already standing before him, his rival, Alexander Pierce, he raised his hand and pointed towards him.

You. Let me tell you one thing about politics, you snail-eyed FU-

The Republic of Tassarea

What is the difference between man and beast. What is the difference between these two ? It is an answer many have have tried to answer over the years yet there exists no definitive one.

The wizened Professor at the Tassarean Creative University looked around the room. “Does anyone here have any of their own views on what is the difference between man and beast ? Come on don’t be shy, raise your hands.” As the professor called out his question in the lecture hall some students tentatively raised their hands.

The Professor looked at the raised hand before turning to a female student in the front, with a name tag saying Melanie Barrows on it. “Miss Barrows, what do you think is the difference between man and beast ?

The Girl spoke tentatively, a bit unsure of her answer. Phrasing it more than a question than an answer “The understanding of our own existence and our sentience ?” The Professor nodded at this. “That is one personal view yet it for the purpose of this lecture is does not fit.” The Professor then looked at a hand that was previously raised. One Mr. Foresterrer. “Mr. Forrester, what would you say is the difference between Man and Beast ?

This studnet spoke with more confidence which the professor approved of. “Our capacity of Rationality and our mutual co-operation.” The professor nodded approvingly at this answer. “That is a good view, and close to my answer to this question.

He then took a moment to look around the room. “In my experience of study and through reading history, culture is the thing that makes us different from beasts.

Culture, in this context a culmination of tradition, beliefs and creative arts, make us different from beasts. They allow us to think beyond the purely physical, to touch the non-existent and make it a force to be reckoned with. Culture has allowed us to transcend our origin as primal creatures.

A student raised a hand, as if to ask a question. The Professor nodded at her and allowed her to speak. “So you would say that even if a creature was sentient, if it was without ‘culture’ it would still be a beast.” The professor let out a small sound of delight. “Indeed. I would even go as far as to say the state of our soceity is not determined by how advanced our technology is either, but by it’s culture. With the culture of a soceity determining it’s true value rather than mere material objects.” As he said this murmurs went around the room. Small discussion of the students, with many expressing both agreement and disagreement.

The Professor allowed this to go on for a moment before, with a push of a button, letting a bell ring through the room. Which indicated for everyone to be silent.

To express my points. Look at these pictures” The Professor then began to show slides. Leading from primitive cave-drawings, to religious painting, to modern-art. “As you can see our art has, through the ages, grown at the same time more abstract, personal and flexible. These early pieces of art are primitive, detailing the hunting of animals and gathering of herbs. Focused purely on the physical, later art evolved into a means to support religion. A belief shared by most of the people around them of an abstract being which watched over them. Whilst modern painting can detail one’s personal beliefs, struggles, and moral philosopohies. Showing the greatest amount of variance and dedication into it.” The professor then continued on for a time, but by this time the point had been made. Ater this the class moved out of the lecture hall and continued their studies.

The Zyrka

The unknown laid upon the great parrots. The need for more space for its people was becoming prevalent. The council had decided upon three things, basic discovery of what laid beyond, expansion of the economy to fund such expeditions, and the need to stretch the borders of their sector.

Turn 3

2203

Map update pending.

A year has passed, but the wide galaxy continues to withhold its secrets so it appears. For now it remains quiet as the races and nations scramble to extend their powerbase to grasp a new foothold in this vast wide plane of existence.

Redon Empire

After a year’s journey and searching, the colonyship was able to find a suitable habitable warm planet and immediately establish a base upon it. As supplies and fuel were running short it was a stroke of luck to find it close around a stable yellow dwarf. The foreign fauna and flora appears to be slightly hostile, though whatever predator approaches the foreign beings (Redons) learns its lesson quickly as the small Hyxrak like beings get punched in their odd sneering and screeching faces.

It does not take long, and already a first result for the strange green golden crystal named Tryarmon is found. It appears to work as a metabolic drug, as a scientist who was examining a pulverized sample enhaled some of it, and felt rather vivid after sneezing once. He claimed to have the need to exert his muscles and smashed his chair into pieces. Shortlived and followed by a headache never felt before (so he claims).

H’wong Nation

Whilst the Nation had industrial lasers for a while, effective lasers for weaponry are still a long way off. Research in that regard was started, but it was a long way off still. Nothing to be reported about shielding either, as the scientists of the H’wong Nation continue to toil away, at statistics, equations and simulations.

Up above in orbit, the shipyard receives its long awaited expansion, preparing to assist in the construction of bigger and more numerous vessels. Perhaps to even carry the soldiers that are being prepared “downstairs?”

Democratic Laconian Systems

There is little of note to be reported in the continous research of the DLS. The engines have yet to receive any improvements over the old designs, or rather, improvements have yet to be designed and found. Right now, it’s work. And only work. They will need time and resources to bring results, after all.

The Foundry

Research continues. Results so far inconclusive. 894631 Equations incomplete. 45 Equations incorrect. 76 Variables missing. 3 Simulations inconclusive. Alternative approach started. Beginning research cycle 928.

The Grand Empire

A fractured society that requires one thing. A healer. And the Empress might be just what they require. The programs are well welcomed by the population, especially the small people, those whose voices are rarely heard, who struggle in their lives. The support of the small people might just be what could bring new wind into the shattered realms of this species.

Ision Enclave

The destroyer begins its exploration of the sector... and returns at the very end of the year, reporting that they found nothing of note in the few systems they explored. No habitable worlds as of yet. The ship is after all a warship and does somewhat lack the tools to explore truly and quickly.

The question of speed is something that is clearly a number one priority for the Ision Enclave, with governmental funding directed towards the exploration of methods of propulsion.

CORRUPTOR DOMINION

As they focused the attention of the still intact communication facilities to the great beyond, they receive nothing but the static noise of space. But proven by how they came to be, they are out there. The Saryn and many species, yet to be turned into the perfect beings that corrupters are.

Quercus Quorum

The dangerous voyage over the long distance is straining, but in the end, they find a system that appears to hold two planets that are habitable. And both at the fringes of their respective habitable zones, one being a scorching desert planet with a unique silicate based fauna and flora, the other being a frozen wasteland with many mountain ranges and hot spring valleys that host the majority of the planet’s life, forests and other frost resilient plants and animals living around them.

As the greatest psionic minds of the Adaptaar convene and begin to work on it, it becomes clear that those who are aligned in Harmony prove to be the best to communicate. Their very nature is of peace and in flow with the existence of all things, allowing them to have their thoughts ride on the very essence of said existence, bringing their words far from here to there. Unfortunately, even the mightiest among them are only capable of conversing with some effort over kilometers at best.

Imperium of Korinth

As if it was a reflection of the Imperium’s disregard for nature, they find a world ripe with ores, to be exploited. There is a lot of hostile wildlife however that needs to be cleared of said world to gain access to its riches.

Union of Mann

And the colony ship sets foot upon a world so bizarre and unseen. It has floating mountains. All currently used and known electronic devices tend to malfunction in their vicinity. What is missing is a sentient race of tall cats that can connect with the fauna and flora of the planet. Instead, there is only plant life, no animals have been formed by evolution here.

The Republic of Tassarea

A month after the colony was founded midyear, the colonists encounter old ruins of unknown origin. They appear of military nature. Marks of battle. They hastily report it back by using one of the communication drones, given the lack of any faster way to communicate.

Hellisian Remnant

Invalid identification code. Access denied. Intruder detected. Counter measures engaged. Counter measures unresponsive. Entity of unknown origin. Threat assessment inconclusive. Directive: disengage all units. Maintain integrity by maintaining safety distance.

It was an unexpected incident. The entity appeared in the Central Processing Facility and disappeared shortly after. No records available, no visual data. Excess energy capacities found in advancement facilities. (+5 R for one turn)

The Zyrka

As others were rather lucky, the Zyrka won’t take the risk and immediately begin advancing the old 21st century scanners. With already good results. Range was extended substantially, radar was replaced by a new type of scanner that uses neutron particles to ping and detect objects (preferably solid). But still, there is much more to improve, the scientists claim in confidence, their quirky chatter and acting being the most normal thing for the Zyrka.

Sweat dripped from his forehead as he slowly helped guide the fusion reactor, his bulky suit while air-conditioned did little to calm his nerves as he drifted in vacuum. “Hook the lithium injecting cables in then wrap up the plasma injector.” Baird the foreman spoke into his headset. “It’s a lot easier than it looks from out there.” Nervously he took each cable and connected them using the magnetic strips situated at their front and a swift twist to lock them in. “Phase one completed.”

“The next phase is hooking up the reactor to the engines, I’m directing the crane to bring it towards alpha team.” Slowly a large crane with grabbers slowly drifted a large aft engine with the engine room cut in half almost as if the ship had been dissected. Jace maneuvered himself to latch onto it as drones slid out of their nearby maintenance bays and circled around the torus of the station attaching themselves to the floating hulk. Their thrusters soon engaged as the crane left go perfectly lining the husk up, their fusion cutters attaching the ship for good.

“Phase II complete Baird and the drones finished it completely with the magnetic clasp sealed. All that’s left is for the flight check testing and she’s good to go.” small cheers erupted in over the comms for a few minutes before the green flashed across his helmet hud. The Laconians were to reach across the expanse for the first time in decades.

======================

The Laconian capital of Antraz has finally reached its capacity, millions of buildings dedicated solely to the running of the star nation. Over 3.5 billion souls have remained on Antraz to run this amount of infrastructure with an overarching stock market had been established with the population calling it the Goldstar Stocks. President Magnus Bishop was also voted out of office this year in stead for the likeness of Gallard Freedom for his promises to swiftly raise the minimum wage and improve the housing conditions of all worlds.

Leon’s Belt experiences a massive surge of citizens using the government funded relocation program. It’s already limited atmosphere is hit and forced to work double time as thousands of factories light up and pump out tons of material for both the state and citizenry. It is hinted at by the governor that more industry is to come and to combat it with atmospheric scrubbers so that endless prosperity comes to the planet.

Rumors echo throughout the nation as the media begins to talk more about the upcoming colonization in the western sectors, eagerness and fear erupts as people are wary of their surroundings with many hoping it's nothing but a barren area for human settlement. Two ships are being built specifically for this purpose the government says, find them first so that they may speak first.

Midst of all the busy work and exploration, the new elect’s first executive order is to begin forming a standing military once more. The ever growing borders of the nation require some defense even if minuscule in the event piracy were to take foot once again, several mercenary firms are contracted to help form this upcoming ‘national guard’.

Quercus Quorum

The Adaptaar crowded around their screens, watching the news from colony ship return. As they waited, their forms still and vegetative, the broadcast flickered into life.

As the ship neared the planet, the Archon gazed at the surface. Its face remained neutral, as its heart sunk for there were no forests of green on this wasteland. The people of the Quorum could survive there, but the vast deserts held no respite. The plans for mining operations was to continue.

As the ship drifted closer to the planet, an Adaptaar at the sensor block called up.
”Sir, there is another habitable planet!”

”What?! Show me!”

After a day of deliberation, ground parties were sent to both planets, where the discoveries of the Hypotherms of Minima; and the Silicate plantoids of Maxima brought much excitement. The original plan for the sector had to be changed, for the natural beauty of this place was of too great importance to despoil for mining.

”We shall usher in a new age of science and discovery for the Quorum! These planets are clearly gifts of the Old One!”

The launch pads that were used by last years colony ship is once again covered in activity. A much, much smaller vessel is priming for launch, it’s small contingent of engineers and scientists on board prepared for their multi-year voyage.

”We’re ready Metal Shaper.”

“Good good, we must find out more of our surroundings! We must look the nearby systems for what we can use! News is that Olea is home to a silicate analogy of plants, much like us!”

“By the One, thats a divine discovery!”
”Indeed it is! We must find what else is near to us to see if there is more holy gifts nearby!!!”

The work continues as the ship prepares to fire its engines, the shaper consumed in thought. The vessel, eventually, is ready and is sent to the heavens, a sister ship leaving soon after.

The shaper, after weeks of deliberation goes to visit Amissa.
”High Archon... With the new discoveries of Olea... Surely they are most holy?”

“I have thought the same Scarba...”

The burly Adaptaar slams his fist upon the table, its rage boiling.

“Only those damned GIFTED can emmigrate to Olea?!
This is an outrage!”

Its partner leaves the room, their face showing concern. They watch as Grata leaves, heading to their meetings of fellow non-gifted.

As the screens showed that in the new year, an announcement by the High Archon was to be made, the adaptaar farming union finished it’s meeting.

The exploration ships had entered the atmosphere, being loaded for the years of travel ahead of them.

Construction on observation posts, and scientific centres of Olea are undertook, ready for the influx of scientists to come.

H’wong Nation

Music

This year marks a moment of true history within H’wong Nation. For entire generations upon generations, Temshu has been their home. A City-World of technology and democracy. What they had thought to be a sole bastion in a dark galaxy. But science and logic have been taking the place of superstition. Once H’wong had shunned the stars, and kept to their burrows and small lives. But as always a society must progress or die. Bright minds and strong hearts prevailed over the inept and old. And now dozens of years later, in the present, the H’wong Nation was expanding out of their sole home.

Last year a colony had been established, closer to the galactic rim. Opportunist, and regular citizens mostly. It soon became apparent what their purpose on this world was to be. Engineers and Scientist land alongside the colonist, and set to work. In order to feed the ships and equipment needed, an industrial hub will be built in the world. This most basic industry will see to the everyday needs of the growing Space power. And already Scientist study the factories themselves. They will get to work on making them more efficient.

brian-haberlin-onplanet-steps.jpg?145143

On Temshu the daily life as always prevails. Peaceful citizens in their millions live their lives. There was some excitement in the upper city this year however. A military parade had been arranged by the Silver Cloak Guild. Their new ‘1st Frontier Regiment’ was a proud assembly of H’wong warriors. Resplendent in their uniforms of various colors depending on their designation in the Regiment. Banner-men carry a panoply of geometric designs on their flags. Their parade is in celebration of the first H’wong ship of war. A glorious Light Cruiser will be built to patrol their territory. For now the ships have no shields, and the troops ballistic weapons. But it is promised they will have superior equipment in under a decade.
