The Bloodline Archive

In the depths of the library, deep within old governmental archives, sits a peculiar sight. On a marble pedestal, the only pedestal in the Library, a book that must be a millennia old rests. While its cover has been redone in white leather, adorned with the image of an ‘aheral looking out from a stone tower, the first pages within nearly crumble as they are turned. There is no title that can be found on the outside of the book, for there is no mistaking what this tome represents.

An inkwell sits next to the book, filled with black pigment and within, a quill. Its purpose is clear, for behind a new page rests many ancient dozens, some too worn to read. Each denotes their bloodline’s name, family tree, origins and traits – and there are many empty sheets beckoning.

~ The Bloodline Archive ~

The written record of pure families within Haelun'or.

The purpose of the Mali'aheral is within the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya.

Our philosophy stems both from our minds, and our blood.

Silver elves take heed: for the recording of one's family ensures the continuation of our people's health. Scribe your lineage for all to know, and ensure our prosperity for all eternity.

Spoiler

This topic could be argued as semi-OOC due to how it's set out. Basically, it's a good place to describe your family bloodline and traits that tend to be passed down. A few things that should be mentioned:

1) A family tree. There's a good/easy program for making these on familyecho.com

2) A short recountment of the history your bloodline has. Maybe it's just a direct rip from the last VA you did or something. Doesn't have to be long, though!

3) Physical and personality traits that are unique to your bloodline!

4) If you're not a pure high elf citizen of Haelun'or, you can still make one here if you want to. Arguably so the pure ones may avoid you!

5) Anything else you think is relevant! I'll be doing my own on this, so everyone has something to work off of if they're confused!

Lae’rinsyr

Lye perithae

“We remember”

| Appearance |

The Lae’rinsyr appearance among the Mali’thill is widely average. However their simple traits are persistent throughout the bloodline, causing a ‘twin effect’. This is due to their platinum blonde or silver locks, and eyes always stained with hues of green. Thus, this lack of variety causes their lineage to become known to all who witness them in a cluster. Both male and females present a lithe frame, with a difficulty growing beyond 5’10, and a median height of 5’8. This makes them unconventionally short for the average citizen. Their skin is void of imperfections and customarily pale, leaving them prone to sunburns.

| Personality/Beliefs |

Following the development of a slightly more lenient government, the Lae’rinsyr family has also steered towards the more open-minded side of the political spectrum. Their Matriarch, present during the abolishment of the lesser and ‘thill districts, has taught its members the value of Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya - progress, in favour of a stunted society. This is in stark contrast to their history of being radically conservative. The family is no different from other Mali’thill in their pride of pure lineage, thus strictly upholding the Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya to its every interpretation. The Lae’rinsyr family indulge in two colours above all others; red for its might to protect others; namely the Mali’aheral and their kin, and silver: A colour, a way of life, and a symbol for their roots in Haelun’or society. Their tertiary color is a honey gold, though is humbly used as it can be negatively interpreted. The family crest bears a white hybrid of an avian and lion. These present the perception of a winged creature, the bravery of a lion, and a faith in the magical. Most members’ interests tend to vary, though a prodigy is sometimes found in the young, in regards to magic or science, for the family is an ambitious lot. Furthermore, disregarding surname norms in favor of equality, it is not unheard of for sons and daughters to take on their mother’s surname.

| Etymology |

Lae’rinsyr holds no special meaning nor does it directly translate into any word in Ancient Elven. It is however theorized that the original comes from a less bastardized version of Lae’rinsyr, with possible ties to an ancient magic. Ironically, most of the living family is not familiar with the arcane.

| History |

The family is, unsurprisingly, fairly new for High Elven standards. It began as a branch off of a minor family within Haelun’or, known as Dlarlynnae. The early generations were quite proficient in magics, notably fire evocation. They cleverly combined this magic type with their craft, producing jewelry and other trinkets requiring the Mali’aheral’s eye for detail. Other than this, the family history remains vague as most is left to speculation and whispers. It has been said that a previous member united all civilisations of Atlas, and led them all to the new world of Arcas. Another took up arms with the Ascended against the impure dark mages in Asulon who sought to threaten Haelun’or’s security. Other stories tell of a member walking through the various planes like a skipping stone across a pond. It has only been within the last century members made their name known, and public - namely the rise of Rosilya Lae’rinsyr as newly-appointed Okarir’akaln of Haelun’or, sporting wisdom of trade and economics. Looking to her ancestors, the latest generation took to opening The Lae’rinsyr Forge with the aim of producing High Elven weaponry to boost Haelun’orian economy and reputation, alongside their own family name. The previous acts of the Lae’rinsyr have gone unmentioned, unthanked, and often unasked for. However, it seems the prerogative of the current Matriarch is to strive forward once and embrace the way of Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya.

They are also strong supporters of the meritocracy, believing that challenges and debates are a central part of Haelun’orian politics. Fow how else can we make sure the most suited leads the mali’thill, if we do not challenge their every opinion against the ideals of maehr’sae hiylun’ehya.

Athedil Haler’thilln

Athedil was born during the times of Aegis, like most of the mali’aheral of the time he grew up not knowing about their heritage. It wasn’t until the discovery of the eternal college on Asulon, and the subsequent formation of the state of Haelun’or, that he along with the other mali’aheral came to know why their ancient customs were as they were.

During most of the years up until the times of Axios, Athedil and the rest of the Haler’thilln, spent their time away from the Silver State, as many of them were dedicated to the study and recording of foreign cultures and customs. What lead to his return to the Motherland, was his cousin Orsino Acal’elor returning ascending to the role of Uthir of the state. During this time, he held the title of Okarir’hiylun and later the title of medi’ir, when the medi’ir served as the right hand to the head of state.

Later, during the times of late Axios, he was named to the position of Maheral, taking over from Cenwall Maeyr’onn, a title he held into the times of Atlas, where he came to leave the title to Larihei herself, as Haelun’or faltered under the rule of Cenwall maeyr’onn and Arelion Laurir’ante.

Now he holds the title of Malaurir, as one of the former Maheralan, and is a constant critic of all those be believes to be casting shame on his ancient home.

-Physical Appearance-

Spoiler

If you were to meet a Saeldur, you would notice their platinum blonde hair and piercing eyes. The Saeldur’s eye color range from an Icy Blue to a Light Lavender. Their build is usually tall and thin, being uncommon for them to be below 6ft once fully matured. Being mostly scholars, they don’t have a very muscular frame and are usually seen with delicate hands.

-Behavior/Beliefs-

Spoiler

The Saeldur’s are a bloodline that keep maehr’sae hiylun’ehya close to their heart, acknowledging that it is what keeps their culture alive and prospering and plan to try and keep it alive for as long as possible. If a Saeldur is not found, they are most likely located in a Library or their own personal study researching a hobby of theirs. It is not uncommon for them to be found staring into nothingness lost in their own thought, that being where they get most of their ideas. They are fond of asking questions and starting debates as a pastime with their colleagues, as well as having general conversations on philosophy. As one gets to know a Saeldur better they will soon find out that you can quickly get a conversation to start if you mention one of their intertests, though because of their passion it can sometimes turn into a lecture.

-History-

Spoiler

A fairly recent bloodline comparatively, but a pure one nonetheless. Since the dawn of their creation Saeldurs have always been located at the heart of Mali’thill culture, not being ones to stray away from their beliefs.

The Hileialenniel are famed for their great stature, even amongst the Mali’thill: one will never set eyes upon a Hileialenniel reaching less than six foot and three inches. Their lush manes are usually of a glistening platinum and their eyes can be likened to sapphires.

Beliefs

Spoiler

The Hileialenniel strive to excell in all fields that spike their interest, though attempt to avoid the learnings of voidal magic, having too often been witness of its effects upon the sanity of the wielder. Instead, they look towards the fields of architecture, astronomy, alchemy, painting music and strategy, amongst many others. The Hileialenniel value neutrality, having adopted a more centrist political stance. Only when the need is dire do they partake in politics to better Haelun’or as a whole. This may occasionally make an Hileialenniel appear aloof, even amongst his fellow Mali’thill. Perhaps most of all, they are known for mulling over their every decision, frowning upon brashness and impulsiveness.

Etymology

Hileialenniel literally translates to “melody of peace”.

The Maeyr’onns are an ancient bloodline, in fact one of the original founding bloodlines of the Silver State of Haelun’or. Starting with the founder Nelecar Maeyr’onn, the renowned Lion of Haelun’or, the family is renowned for harsh punishment of those unfaithful to the teachings of Larihei and to the State in which facilitates her ideals. As the first military leader of Haelun’or- the Okarir’Sil(Master of the Sword) he was once known to lock a Mali’aheral in a cell for a month just for refusing his stringent demands to protect the state. Their liberal use of extreme acts of protection is still even practiced today. Their motto “Preservation From Valor!” encapsulates the very being of every member that has been birthed in the bloodlines splendor.

Cenwall Maeyr’onn:

Cenwall Maeyr’onn was one of the longest reigning leaders of Haelun’or. He ruled from the demise of Axios till the final days of Atlas. Rising from the ashes of the Night of Remembrance and being elected as Okarir’Maehr of the Silver Council, Cenwall quickly revitalized the crumbling library. Soon afterwards he was ascended to the Maheral of the High Elven people and by ex-Maheral Andria. This lasted up until the start of Atlas where he stepped down and was elected as the Sohaer. During the ending days of his rule, he absorbed the position of Maheral through a vote of the people and council to become the first Ah’Sohaer (Blessed Ruler) of the nation. Known as the Frog, he ruled for an unprecedented 40 years.

THE MAEHR’TEHRAL

We are no doubt an interesting people but you bore us forevermore.

FAMILY TREE AND HISTORY

Spoiler

The name Maehr’tehral is first seen connected to an Aryvynn, a woman who died preceding the end of Asulon in 1362. It is understood there was, however, an extended albeit unrecorded line to the family—a rather unimpressive fact, considering no one has heard from them yet. Aryvynn herself went on to have four children, a reputable feat that has so far gone unchallenged within the Talonnii.

Though reverent towards Larihei and maehr’sae hiylun’ehya, they have not been strangers to nomadic lifestyles, with only Verikoth having kept his duty and family within elcihi’thilln. Fortunately, descendants to the siblings continually return to and occupy Haelun’or, seeing to an ever-continuous expansion of the family.

PERSONALITY

Spoiler

Fervent and erratic, minds blighted by the yearning for knowledge, the Maehr’tehral are famed for their eager exploits of an ever-jarring variety. Though what came first, the name or the nature? That is still a mystery to grace supper discussions.

There is a lot to learn from the family, with their many members engaged in an array of pursuits that fulfill the philosophy of their blessed state. They’re often noted on the diversity and combinations of these recreations: from politics to psychiatry to military service to botany, they never fail to intrigue.

Though this comes a predisposition to ennui, enervation and lethargy. They often struggle to relax and suffer in times of stagnation—which is increasingly hard to manage in a single environment, hence their tendency to travel or disappear. Alternatively, they succumb to their lethargy, simply choosing to shirk responsibilities or retire from any active studies or tenures.

Their hiylun can also be as fleeting as their hobbies, with Aryvynn, Verikoth and Ludlis having perished prematurely to insanity… we hope this has improved with the latest generations but can make no definitive promises.

Beyond what’s formerly stated, the Maehr’tehrals demonstrate a vast diversity of character and may surprise the many ‘thill of Haelun’or with their eccentricities.

BELIEFS

Spoiler

The Maehr’tehral has contained and does contain individuals who vary on the spectrum of liberality and conservatism. Some Maehr’tehral members have found themselves to be conservative enough to rival an Uradir, while some have towed the line with their liberalism. Though, no matter how far on the spectrum they have gone, the Maehr’tehral bloodline has always valued and encouraged maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. A Maehr’tehral member is expected to weigh all of the views which abide by maehr’sae hiylun’ehya, and choose which one he or she believes. There is usually no bad blood between kin if there is a difference in these views.

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

Spoiler

Despite the Maehr’tehral carrying warmer skin tones versus their paled counterparts, the Talonnii has typically eluded the confines of rigid genetics. Whilst most of Aryvynn’s descendants don blonde hair and purple eyes, spouses to the line have introduced new features such as blue eyes, facial hair and lighter locks. Alas, some things don’t change… they are a showy breed with defined appearances that often contribute to an attractive image, making conceit commonplace mid the rabble.

Boys are extremely common, with Ailanis and Ayliana continuing to be the only recorded females born by Maehr’tehral. Most members surpass 6’ in height, with the few exceptions assumed to have been a consequence of newly introduced blood.

ETYMOLOGY

Spoiler

Maehr’tehral is easily translated into its common counterparts, resulting in this relationship between ‘knowledge’ and ‘to grind’. Basic conjecture suggests this was a simple way of expressing the importance of absorbing study and progressing hobbies to the early generations of the Talonnii.

History

The Birth of the Mali’thilln | Establishment of Elcihi’thilln

Bygone were the days of Malin, no more were the times of united elveness. Larihei lead the Thilln to their inevitable future, destined was the creation of Haelun’or; motherland now and forever. With her that of the more historically highlighted were gathered, Sullas, Thar, Acal’aelor and the now ‘ata Izalith. Yet in the background were characters of less renown, people moved by maehr’sae hiylun’ehya; for not all had interest in fleeting power -- or direct influence in society and its many facets. These very many a mali, but for the context of this account one need only focus upon one; Finris Haterin. While others in their past forms had focused on the wisdoms of Malin, frolicked and upon the world bore children; this man was only lead by one singular charge. The unraveling of The Cataclysm, of which an eternal void had left in everyone's minds. His was not a Talonni for he was alone, his generation the first of the Mali; only humbled by Malin. While many thought of him an eccentric, his passion in pursuit of truth; wisdom and knowledge -- that which even the elves had forgotten never wavered. Upon a visit to Larihei’s library in search of further material, even the maiden herself had him acknowledged; these were mere remarks -- yet to the eccentric anything can heed their loyalties.

In time while Malin still ruled he searched ruins, battlefields and any remnants that existed. In them based upon observation, logical foresight, record and undeniable fact -- conclusions drew hypothesis and they in turn theory. This itself birthed a profession, one still to this day unacknowledged by most; bringing little regard from the circles of the wise. The science known as Archaeology was from his eccentrics born, yet his patience and knowledge was not to be scoffed at. Today we his Talonni call it inder’indeal, for history is a book with no end -- as eternal is our charge. With frequent visits his physical state had changed, his eyes a deepened azure; though his hair still remained darkened they grew brighter. His locks taking on the now recognizable grey, for in this era long since passed; very few had the fair white of Larihei.

Though his patience deepend with each bath, so did his eccentric mannerisms. When Malin’s old woods were to be lost to the now Thilln, he was slow to move -- projects unfinished. Hypothesis yet to turn to theory, his work and all that which he had grown accustomed; for the common Thilln had much more to lose. In these times not all had influence of which to gather strength from, stability to keep one's two feet firm. Yet dragged by a few thoughtful he was not left behind, to become a victim of rising tensions. Though a kind gesture Finris would describe it as anything but, yet I argue this thought highly illogical -- perhaps the onset rambles of our accursed aged insanity. But there he was when the city rose its lofty spires, where maehr’sae hiylun’ehya had found at last a home.

The Schism | ‘Ata Lomal The Accursed

Days turned into weeks, weeks into months and months into years it was in such the pursuit of maehr’sae hiylun’ehya; was tarnished by the first ‘ata. In pursuit of progress he had forgotten health, though by the ramblings of Finris the boy was nothing but too prideful. His words were more accurately portrayed by profanities unbefitting of Thilln. It should then be clear that were it not for fates mechanisms, this ‘ata and his exile; induced by the bereft of the lives of two old. Then our fair people might still have in their midst the maiden of which our fairness stems from. This ‘ata, Lomal now known as “The Accursed” had no respect for his kind; unable to tell the difference between disagreement and distaste. But in this time most historical, Finris had little involvement. It was to him a time of studying and perfecting of his newfound profession, mastering his art.

In elcihi he lived in its farthest flung corner, far away from where the divide formed; as walls were raised he find only further sanctity in his library -- his passionate projects. Unbeknownst to him was the corruption of the ‘ata and the spreading influence of the Daemon Tayl. Though by his own accounts he wasn’t “unaware” but rather too busy progressing the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya -- to spend time on such “civilities”. He seems to personally feel the ‘ata rude for intruding on his studies, of which I told him was a childish notion; only to further be admonished. While my personal mindful thoughts seem more clear, one cannot tamper with the eccentric; extending only the belief that my maln left the land -- begrudgingly only not to die. Had he perhaps not been a man of his craft, it would not have surprised me if he would had remained as one of the Vihai. I suppose I have this fact to thank for my own existence, for such is fate -- weaved as though with intention yet not.

The New Beginnings | Aegis Once More

Through the portal half were unaccounted and equally so was Larihei, even the staunchest puritan weeped; were it not for the eccentric few perhaps a flood might have formed. Though while the man that told me these facts has a flare for dramatics, I for one find it degrading. I wager that there were many reasons for emotional outburst. The families torn apart, those dead not to also mention the loss of our most beloved maiden -- fair and foresighted. Out of the few who had collected minds and emotions, this land was not unfamiliar; it was the land of Archaic Aegis. In its woods the mali born as well as their father Malin, his brothers influence still alive and remaining here. Yet even his kind was present, thus mali of all kinds found once more themselves in one and the same place. Their fates once again intertwined, like pieces on chessboard their journey laid out before them.

The New Beginnings | Heritage Rediscovered

While generations had passed and some had passed onto the great beyond, some had forgotten their origins; unlearned of Larihei’s truth of which our society is founded upon. The few who remembered were a minority or in the case of Finris, were too busy with their profession; their art. To them the thirst for knowledge side lining them from the sight of certain parents incapability in upbringing. However the course of times will would have this changed, for Aegis was not fated to last; its land sinking and the descendants long since left. In Asulon answers to age old questions were open for answers, Thilln ruins strewn throughout; their cultural heritage remained strong and bright. In their presence was the everlasting ideology of Larihei that of maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. With the past rekindled, passions for sovereignty reaffirmed. The Thilln once again gathered in the Motherland -- in Haelun’or. It was in this place he would find his flame, one eccentric perhaps even more than himself; of the opposite gender and of which he would be wed. While history can confirm itself long past this point, so as well is that of my maln much longer than what is accounted for. I must cut short, for I intend to release instead a greater work -- more extensive and conclusive in a more appropriate place.

Appearance and Traits

Spoiler

While our shade of skin fluxuates between healthy pinks and puritan pale, one will seldom not find an Aldin without a grayed hairline; of which grows darker with age. With the rarity of a far flung puritan can a brighter blonde perhaps be found, but it is highly unlikely; as our features are most dominant -- and logically transferred through the generations.

Lf2J4u12oFv2WKb_-qzKnCgiSNNjukIjFXJiuEyh8wfpACFMq-Qd-4hNRScDEO11L7uhK-dDAd8DI5MjE_9-XJTMnjATPiIZrrghyVjajzyKtrIgrq3YG5Xk87Umt837EQNRxHcu

Our eyes are of a deepend azure or a purple shade, depending on the strength of heritage from either line. The blue a predominant Haterin feature while the Aldin puritan has lighter or darker shades of purple. Thus one can easily denote the features of the main caste of the Talonni, for most Finris-born are a darkened blue.

The common Aldin has hints of eccentric mannerisms, while having an odd efficiency in pursuit of knowledge. They wear oft earthly colors with hints of red or blue, dependant on the character of the wearer. In the end common professions range from the family founding Archaeology or the more common botany and arts of the pen and paper.

Drennan

Spoiler

The Drennan family lived under Illiran for over 100 hundred years, little is known about that time, even by their own current patriarch. Illiran moved the family to Haelun’or after the journey to Arcas, and settled as a well-known family. In the early 1700s Illiran was found guilty of Blood magic, and attempted murder, thus being banished, and disowned by his son, Anarion. The Drennan family has been split up after Illiran betrayed it.

Drennans are unfortunately known as blood mages, but this is laughably wrong. while one ex-drennan was banished for blood magic, he has been disowned, thus not a Drennan. The Drennan's are actually steadfast conservatives and politicians. They are tall, at six foot or more, and their eyes are a light purple. Drennan hair is of the purest white. Their features are pointed and sharp, same for their minds.

Family Tree:

Spoiler

The Cuth’arlin lineage has suffered many alterations throughout the last few centuries, allowing few of pure blood to continue roaming the realms. It is known that Cuth’arlin mali’thill have roamed the realms since the ages of Aegis. Whereabouts of current, living, members of this once-grand family are mostly unknown though records hold the following names.

Merideth Cuth’arlin, deceased

Maelanu Cuth’arlin, deceased

          Illithri Cuth’arlin, unknown

          Eloh’ra Cuth’arlin, deceased

                    Adeline Cuth’arlin, living

                      Gareth Cuth’arlin, living

Traits & Appearance:

Spoiler

Cuth’arlin lineage is easily distinguished by their thin and fair appearance, contrasted with light turquoise or royal blue eyes. Women of this ancestry present silver-platinum locks, whilst men tend to hold an ashy-blonde tone to their hair. They often possess sculpted features, dimpled cheeks, pointed noses and elongated ears. Most members of this family will range between 5’11” and 6’2”.

History & Etymology:

Spoiler

The Cuth’arlin name holds no direct translation to Ancient Elven, though it is believed to have originated from a female ancestor as opposed to the male counterpart in sudden retaliation to the beliefs held by Valah where they remained for many centuries. There is a vast history of female empowerment within the lineage of this family, though it is believed that their methods underwent many alterations during the last few centuries. Cuth’arlin women have always been well known for their strict methods in teaching and their undivided practice of elmaehr’sae hiylun’ehya.

It is believed that upon the realm of Arcas, this once powerful household has begun to reconcile and mend broken mends within the City of Silver.

Beliefs:

Spoiler

Cuth’arlin family members have not always been the kind to follow mali’thill ways during their lifetimes, mostly due to odd circumstances. Although, in recent centuries, it is vastly appreciated that all children from the lineage practice elmaehr’sae hiylun’ehya and continue to preach this onto whomever may proceed these. Anew, due to the history of this odd family, Cuth’arlin do not and likely will not pester those deemed impure or lesser than,— rather demand the respect they so rightly believe is deserved.
