Ever since the discovery of fire, descendants have strived to be able to control it. Whether it be used to warm oneself at the fireside, to lighting an enemy camp aflame, fire was always a very important part of descendant development. As magic was discovered, so was the use of flame in voidal evocation, the very element which descendants strived to control now within their grasp.

The Limits of Flame

Over the years, mages have become more adept and skilled with their craft, able to create wondrous feats of both beauty and chaos. Soon, the abilities to conjure pure smoke and heat were discovered. Though even with their current knowledge, mages continued to delve deeper and test the very limits of evoked flame.

Eventually, blue flame was discovered. It was twice as hot and required twice as much mana to maintain as any regular flame. But even then many scholars were not satisfied, and eventually white flame was discovered at the expense of a young masters very life for it was too hot and required too much mana to maintain. This appeared to be the barrier of fire evocation, though this did not stop mages from using their fire in even more creative ways.

Learning and Casting

The art of fire evocation, like all Voidal evocations, is one based off of much study and repetition. To even consider learning fire evocation, one must study flames in great depth. The scholar must study and truly understand how real flames act and react to certain situations.

In order to summon fire from the Void, assuming they have learned how and have studied fire itself, they must picture the flame they wish to cast in their mind and then pull it from the Void where they wish as long as the destination is within their line of sight. A mage must also have an adequate amount of concentration in order to evoke the flame, as the fire can be just as deadly to the caster as it is to the target. Many young mages have been killed by their own flame due to lack of concentration or control.

Tier List

Spoiler

Tier One [Novice]:

  • The fire evocationist first learns to connect to the Void if they haven’t prior.

  • This period is one of immense study and learning, when the apprentice begins to study real fire in order to conjure it themselves in the coming OOC week.

  • The fire evocationist may not perform any combat spells or out of combat spells during this phase.

  • [1 Week]

Tier Two [Apprentice:

  • The fire evocationist holds basic understanding of how fire works and is able to conjure small flames on their own. It is also recommended the mage begins to study smoke as well.

  • The fire evocationist may not perform any combat spells, though is limited to match-sized flames out of combat. The largest they could possibly get to is a golf ball sized flame. This cannot be used in combat.

  • [3 Weeks]

Tier Three [Adept]:

  • The fire evocationist holds a deeper understanding of how fire works and is now able to conjure more advanced forms of fire and less crude shapes. The mage also learns to cast smoke during this phase.

  • The fire evocationist can now perform simple combat spells: fireball, smokescreen, heat, flamethrower.

  • Out of combat they can create smoke in smaller quantities as well as fire in similar quantities to that of their combat spells.

  • [2 Months]

Tier Four [Expert]:

  • The fire evocationist is near mastered their understanding of flame and smoke and is now able to conjure blue fire with some difficulty.

  • The fire evocationist can now perform more advanced combat spells: fire pillar, wall of flames, ring of fire.

  • Out of combat a mage can create blue fire though with the difficulty of a T2 conjuring regular fire.

  • [3 Months]

Tier Five [Mastery]:

  • The fire evocationist has mastered the conjuring of smoke, fire, and blue flame. Though they still conjure blue flame with some difficulty, it is much easier for them and they can perform simple fire spells with ease.

  • The fire evocationist can now perform mastery level combat spells: fireblast, combustive fireballs, fire storm.

  • Out of combat a mage may perform almost any simple fire spell with ease and moderate feats with little difficulty. Blue flame may be conjured akin to a T3 conjuring regular fire.

Combat Spells

The following is a list of predisposed spells which one can use in a combat scenario. This does not mean, however, that these are the only spells one is limited to outside of combat. For aesthetic purposes, these spells can be charged however one wishes as long as they do not break any of the redlines stated and still possess the same effect.

The total emotes includes a connecting emote as well.

Fireball – T3 || 3 Emote

Spoiler

PpOq6hRgg8kFyml1TaRei2dkLjMpO9cmjNLhODetwmsBWnEBBi3SKkaSp_7ESwVPAHY24jU7esmT8tfgx1XX7aWBh1l4Ab_ZDBKqjhK3i_-GzXJcBWBDQvgxcdfshRK3_DWx1GAu

Create a ball of flame roughly the size of a baseball. This is a simple spell which any apprentice can easily cast. Requiring little concentration and mana at higher levels, it can be quickly used in battle. The spell possesses a range of five block, though can be cast from ten blocks at T5.

Redlines:

  • This spell requires little concentration at higher levels, making it an excellent spell to use in the heat of the moment.

  • Possesses a range of five blocks, ten blocks at tier five.

  • The spell travels at a moderate speed, akin to a regular arrow being fired.

  • Remains at 3 emotes regardless of tier.

  • The spell is non-concussive on its own, but it may be made concussive by adding another emote onto it (T5 only).

  • Combustible fireballs have a three block AoE.

  • Make sure your target knows a combustible fireball is more than just a fireball, such as emoting air being sucked into it.

Spoiler

Example Emotes:

Alex would face his opponent, his fingers trembling as he stared down the masked figure. He would raise his hand, his eyes taking on a soft purple glow.

Small embers would begin to collect above Alex’s palm, forming into a small match-like flame which began to flicker and slowly grow. A single bead of sweat formed on the human’s brow.

The flame would form into a spherical shape, no larger than the size of a baseball as it flickered in Alex’s hand. More sweat beaded his forehead as he casted.

Alex would then toss the fireball at his opponent, and should it touch, any flammable objects in the area it hit would be lit aflame.

Smoke Screen – T3 || 4 Emotes

Spoiler

EJNpCYCf2-5YR4wLzh_s-xP0xH2QXgc9euSAxe92gmvfNSRzrwEyyIMKcOhiD7ZzuKNeJZTk969QmJR_PGTRpF_I_ceO0z8MHy7ycCeymxLC-xtRFahwVT86rPq3ayR9eBlAKO-L

Creates a cloud of smoke around the caster either to cause a distraction or to orchestrate a quick escape. This spell requires a bit more concentration than your garden variety fireball and a bit more mana too. The smokescreen possesses a three by three block radius.
Redlines:

  • This spell requires more concentration than prior spells, though if used properly can save mage from a sticky situation.

  • An adept perform this spell twice before being exhausted. A master can generally perform it three or four times before being exhausted.

  • This spell may only be used around the caster, you cannot create a smokescreen in front of you. You may, however, create a smoke screen around you and walk out of it.

  • The caster cannot see through their own smoke.

  • The smoke maintains as long as the caster keeps their concentration on it, if their concentration is broken the smoke will dissipate. Anything that would normally dissipate smoke would also be effective.

  • A T5 mage can perform this spell in three emotes.

  • The smoke itself does not make it difficult to breath, but the heat can make it quite uncomfortable for unprotected skin.

  • The color of the smoke does not affect the effectiveness of the spell, it’s only for aesthetic.

  • Cannot move more than five blocks per emote regardless of skill level.

Spoiler

Example Emotes:

Steffan would step forward, taking short soft breathes as his eyebrows twitched irritably. He extended his hand forwards, palm facing in front of him.

Light gray smoke began to swirl from the boy’s elbow to the front of his palm, a few beads of sweat forming upon the Steffan’s brow.

The smoke would swirl into a small sphere which hovered in front of Steffan’s palm as more sweat formed upon his brow, his other hand’s fingers trembling.

Steffan would snap his other fingers and the smoke sphere suddenly exploded outwards in a three meter radius, removing Steffan from view.

Flamethrower – T3 || 4 Emotes

Spoiler

FXbyQzQ6-a9ZJGRgzI-NNadj6DZKGOzES4FJCYwGlRBO578raI6ND-Dh-qav7znAhpBbLv-T6EmM9q7-e7aeMK-hGdML15X6BhzktMYW9t_sqtv9W8wBas7rVYXQfqYvaz8B5F8p

Conjure fire in front of oneself to expel like a flamethrower. This is a spell for the more adept fire evocationist, though can still be quite effective if used correctly. However, one should be warned that if their casting is disrupted the effects will not have the desired effect and will only make the situation worse.

Redlines:

  • The flamethrower spells requires much more mana to perform as well as adequate concentration.

  • For clarification, you are compressing the fire into a sphere and then expelling it outwards like a flamethrower. The torrent of flames has little to no concussive force on its own.

  • At T5, this spell may be used in three emotes.

  • Cannot move more than three blocks per emote when casting, regardless of skill level.

  • Should the caster be disrupted after two emotes of casting, the fire will expand outwards and burn everything in a three by three block radius, including the caster. This effect is non-concussive.

Spoiler

Example Emotes:

Bella would quickly raise her left palm, her eyes taking on a light blue glow where her irises were.

Small embers began to swirl from Bella’s elbow to just above her palm, forming into a small match-like flame which hovered just above her hand. Meanwhile, beads of sweat would form upon the elfess’s brow.

The flame grew to the size of a golf ball, forming into a spherical shape as the flames swirled around inside the sphere.

Bella would then give a soft exhale, the fire sphere sending a large short wave of flame shooting forward like that of a flamethrower before the fire vanished. The elfess wiped her brow as she would move to walk away.

Heat – T3 || 4 Emotes

Spoiler

IlnOsOlbqmCBJAEAJ9gGGnExlWQYmlc2ri89Hicc_AHt0F6HTQKU-S9OM7199ReOP87azkFVnUve_771aNRYX-QcsNlc-J5q65oh0s2beGzI_97AwqDfKPAd3UzA_nyLqRy9Gc1o

A much more cruel spell of fire evocation, the ability to cook one’s opponents alive by conjuring forth pure heat from the Void. Possessing a three block radius, this spell will heat up anything within it, making it deadly for foes in armor.

Redlines:

  • This spell has a maximum range of seven blocks, meaning that you can cast it from seven blocks away. It does not have a seven block radius.

  • For the first two emotes, anything inside the spell will begin to feel uncomfortably warm. During the third emote the heat would be almost unbearable for anyone in armor, though still quite uncomfortable for anyone without armor. During the fourth emote, anyone within armor would more than likely faint from exhaustion or overheating and anyone without armor would become physically exhausted, if not faint.

  • The victims of this spell MUST be within hearing range of your emotes.

  • At T5 this spell may have a four block radius, though range and emote is lowered to three emotes.

  • The mage themselves may move up to five blocks per emote while casting this, though they may not move the spell itself once it has been cast.,

Spoiler

Example Emotes:

Alfius would stand face to face with the guards that pursued him. He would exhale, assuming a defensive stance as a bright red glow would seem to appear in his eye.

Alfius would extend his hand forward, turning it slowly as if he were turning a dial of some sorts. The guards would feel the air around them growing uncomfortably warm, and should their skin be directly touching their metal armor it would begin to burn.

Alfius turned his hand even further, beads of sweat forming on the man’s brow as the air around the guards becoming increasingly warm as their iron armor began to gain a slight red hue. At this point, any armor directly touching the skin would gain a second degree burn and they would begin to feel nauseous if not faint.

Alfius would then close his hand into a fist, the air spiking in temperature as each of the guards would probably collapse from heat exhaustion. After another moment, the air returned to normal as Alfius wiped his brow before casually walking off.

Fire Pillar – T4 || 4 Emotes

Spoiler

Z0HQdcU0dv1E_j7HTYUFJgIIDEXzyPDr5qr7OGxjEKcz7d9vJ3im5jTgmxX_L3LcV6eTFzb_0pO8dFGKpVuR44KC5toozoj1gLoVnkQcjxXdOqaEC1pqgFowl7Ru6q8hX3l2JPBE

Creates a pillar of destructive and deadly fire underneath the target. This spell possesses a one block radius, though despite this, if used in the right way, it can be very effective.

Redlines:

  • This spell possesses a range of five blocks, meaning it can be cast from five blocks away.

  • The spell has a radius of one block, no more than that regardless of tier. It also possesses a height up to two meters.

  • The victim of your attack MUST be within hearing range of your emotes. A swirl of embers, or some other tell that the area is a trap, must be actively shown on the block which one has casted on.

  • The spell can be held like that of a trap for up to four emotes, meaning that should someone step on it, the spell will go off. This is affected by the caster’s concentration, meaning that should their concentration be broken while they are holding the trap, the trap will go off.

  • You cannot move while you cast, regardless of skill level.

  • The spell is on its own non-concussive, though an extra emote may be used to make the spell concussive and therefore throwing targets upwards (T5 Only).

  • At T5 you can cast this spell in three emotes instead of four.

  • Be sure to specify OOC which tile has been imbued if you are using the trap.

Spoiler

Example Emotes:

Arren would stand motionless, his eyes assuming a bright orange hue as he stared towards the tiles which sat about three meters in front of him.

Arren would slowly raise his hand, tiny embers beginning to collect as his elbow and rest just in front of his palm. His fingers trembled as a single bead of sweat formed upon his brow.

The embers would fly from Arren’s palm to the tiles, resting upon the tiles before beginning to spread out into a ring which quickly ignited into a thin ring of orange flames.

The orange flames would suddenly shoot upwards, forming a pillar of fire which went up to two meters in the air, incinerating anything flammable that were on above it..

Wall of Flames – T4 || 4 Emotes

Spoiler

0WuoL_j_a8JeP8-1x-mI7EY9vj3WMfBGg3AiJqzELOwH56kar0WPm1ZMwAtGm1Ni8qD0H_xhIX6OWTu7h8kIyIClqyy37ZmFRHG5-PNbA7iAdt37y9ndGkoS_mbPIRNZIp8ofP3m

Conjures a wall of concussive fire in front of you or your opponents in order to create a barrier or a wall which can incinerate all lesser flammable projectiles.

Redlines:

  • The wall can be up to three blocks in length, though one may create a smaller wall as well.

  • You cannot move more than four blocks per emote when casting, though this is not advised if they wish to create a wall in front of themselves.

  • The spell possesses no range, but the target destination must be within line of sight. Please emote accordingly.

  •  At T5 this spell can have a length of up to five blocks, and only in three emotes.

  • Projectiles such as arrows would be incinerated and crossbow bolts would probably be knocked off their trajectory.

  • You cannot ‘shrink’ or ‘expand’ the wall once you cast it.

  • This spell can last up to three emotes.

Spoiler

Example Emotes:

Eddie would step forward, his eyes assuming a gold hue as he stared at the space between him and his pursuers.

The man raised his hand, a trail of embers flowing from his palm to the space between, lining themselves between Eddie and his opponents.

The embers began to glow a faint light orange as if they had just come out of a fire, a single bead of sweat appearing on Eddie’s brow.

Eddie would then quickly raise his hand upwards, a line of fire shooting upwards from where the embers once were, forming a three meter long wall of flame that would greatly harm anyone who dared pass through.

Ring of Fire – T4 || 4 Emotes

Spoiler

HquvMF1ZzcengXEnZLk8AlLgMyi-CrYvV94CWHRf4ca7kJz9h-OX-QIgQJBkLcbnQlBThp3mTWMmhirDVGPGTjm4WTqSNNif6Woo8smTzrDpkNGFCkooe6WRvjJIM0ufCWkbuc8V

Creates a ring of fire around you or your opponents in order to block them in or to defend yourself. Holds similar properties to the ‘Wall of Flames’ spell.

Redlines:

  • The ring can possess a radius of three blocks at T4 and five blocks at T5, though emote count does not change at mastery. The ring can only reach a height of two blocks.

  • A mage may only move up to three blocks while casting.

  • The spell possesses a range of up to ten blocks and a height of two.

  • You cannot ‘shrink’ or ‘expand’ the ring once you cast it.

  • The ring is non-concussive.

Spoiler

Example Emotes:

Zaeya would stand to face the pack of wolves in front of her, her eyes assuming a bright amber glow as she raised her hand upwards.

A single bead of sweat would trickle down Zaeya’s cheek, her hand trembling at she stared towards the pack.

Suddenly, a ring of fire would trail around the pack of wolves like a snake, burning a bright orange.

Zaeya then clenched her fist, the ring of flames rising upwards into a wall which trapped the wolves as they howled in agony.

Fireblast – T5 || 5 Emotes

Spoiler

4497rsFtAnlJM3YfiD8Ue3ZX745p1QpGfCLAUPtwqUYL5IbT4tSOUNiOsqNI3VhRSLvEPAmFZUBZkVwTMUF5OoiiQxdqbdkhBFQDGCybZKrg-6dp0hEKxmTZJj_Xdl3r4E3zeTcD

A supercharged fireball with concussive properties. Is generally spherical in shape, possessing a size slightly larger than that of your average volleyball. Upon making contact with the target, the fireball will explode outwards with concussive force, giving third degree burns and probably incinerating anything close to the origin of the blast.

Redlines:

  • This spell possesses an AoE of up to five blocks and the caster is not immune to their own explosion. The spell’s range is seven blocks.

  • Loss of concentration after three emotes of casting this spell will cause premature explosion, detonating in the hands of the caster. The spell will NOT simply vanish back into the void if one wills.

  • Make sure to signify that your fireball is not just your garden variety fireball at emote three, such as air being sucked into it to give an example.

  • This spell must be cast in the form of a fireball, either thrown or intentionally dispelled.

  • Anyone at the center of the explosion would probably get most of their bones broken by the blast along with severe burns, though they may move further away to avoid this and only gain moderate to minor burns should they not make it out completely. This includes the caster.

Spoiler

Emote Examples:

Max would give a soft exhale, going to face the training dummy in front of him. His fingers began to twitch as he raised his hand forward, palm facing the dummy.

The single, match-like flame appeared over the man’s hand. It flickered and slowly began to expand, Max’s fingers trembling a bit more violently.

The flame quickly grew to the size of a baseball, a faint whooshing sound being heard as air appeared to be sucked into it. A few beads of sweat lined Max’s brow as he did this.

The fireball continued to grow to the size of your average soccer ball, air continuing to be sucked into it as Max glared at the dummy.

Max then brought his hands back and made a shoving motion towards the fireball which hovered in front of him. Immediately after he did this, it shot forward at quite an incredible speed, flying towards the dummy. Upon contact it would explode, the dummy being charred as pieces of hay flew everywhere.

Fire Storm – T5 || 10 Emotes

Spoiler

wewx8jmOVtSDGxC2KaW6sG7Rr02-iX9typ1KPCVzhH09LlEaGWIeQkgt9a9pzzqTdOVb9x0GMhJQdDN4athNmTMGeoV0gbMEb7f6SiSZ1ojN2wVGwiB3LSYjKNk3AtmVYf8eKyIM

Summons a storm of unyielding flames to rain upon one’s foes. This spell requires more concentration and mana than any other that a mage may cast in combat, meaning that the mage will be heavily exhausted after casting this spell regardless of skill level.

Redlines:

  • Requires three mages to circle along with the caster in order to perform and RO permission is required for effective damage to be done.

  • This spell requires an incredible amount of mana and concentration to perform, and the slightest disruption can potentially end the casting.

  • The spell has an AoE of 20 blocks (10 in each direction) and the casters are NOT immune to the effects.

  • The spell must be cast above the mages, it cannot be cast in front of them, behind them, or anywhere else. The point where the magi circle stands would be considered ‘the eye of the storm’, potentially causing the magi themselves less damage, though not making them immune. Should any of them move while casting, the eye will not move with them.

  • This spell is more draining than any other, regardless of how long you’ve had the magic you will be severely exhausted after casting this. This applies to all of the mages present in the casting.

  • It would be extremely difficult to cast this spell with blue fire, though not impossible. This would require another two mages. Please emote fatigue accordingly. Remember that white fire is impossible no matter how many mages are present.

  • The spell can last up to three emotes after being charged, though this is not directly affected by the casters’ concentration.

  • The heat given by the falling flame is sufficient enough to heat up iron enough to burn the skin should skin touch it, and anything else in armor would be extremely uncomfortable and probably be cooked alive they do not get out in time. Anything the fire touches will be incinerated lest it holds fire resistant properties.

  • Holds concussive properties, explosions from fire tend to be about a block radius, though still effective.

Spoiler

Example Emotes:

Bob, Steve, and Allen would approach the vast green field in front of them. Each of them would then stand in a triangular formation, connecting themselves to the Void.

Steve and Allen’s aura’s would appear around them, before going to hover over to Bob and envelope him within them, mixing with the elf’s own bright green aura.

The air around the mages slowly began to rise in temperature to a somewhat uncomfortable level, the aura’s of Vith and Allen continuing to merge with Sarrion’s.

A small cloud of dark gray smoke would form above the mages heads, before slowly expanding outwards.

The cloud of smoke continued to expand until it reached a ten meter radius, the auras of the mages grew even brighter in their respective colors.

The cloud ceased to grow, a small hole in the cloud appearing just above the gathered mages, practically an eye of the storm.

Pieces of ash and embers began to slowly fall from the sky like snow, bits of grass and flowers being consumed by small fires which cropped up.

The ash and embers continued at an even faster rate, the air smogging up, making it almost difficult to breath. Smaller critters quickly would scamper off, seeing something was amiss.

Suddenly, small golf-ball sized flames would begin to rain from the cloud, charring anything they touched save the bit of open air left in the ‘eye’.

After a few more moments, larger fireballs the size of soft-balls would rain from the sky, creating small craters in the ground where they landed. The three mages would then turn to look as fire and chaos rained from the sky, the ones lush plain turned into a burning hellscape, the spell charing everything around them.

Overall Guides and Redlines

Spoiler

Overall Guides and Redlines:

  • The emote count given is the bare minimum, but this does not mean the spell may not take more emotes depending on range and the current physical state of the mage.

  • Conjuring blue flame would require twice as much mana and concentration as conjuring a regular flame. It is not advised that you cast blue flame casually.

    • Use of blue flame in combat spells requires twice as much mana and twice as many emotes. Please emote fatigue accordingly.

  • Conjuring white flame is impossible due to the amount of mana it would cost and the amount of heat it would produce. Attempting to conjure white flame is a PK clause.

  • Cannot cast where you cannot see.

  • Fire cannot be controlled to a fine degree (on its own), only crude shapes can be made with it beginning at T3 (ie. spheres).

  • Most spells could incinerate simple flammable projectiles such as wooden arrows. Faster projectiles like crossbow bolts would probably move to fast to be completely incinerated.

  • You cannot control real fire, only your fire conjured from the Void. Once that fire makes contact with anything, it will be out of your control.

  • A mage cannot cast where they cannot see.

  • The caster is never immune to their own flame, which is why projectiles such as fireballs will usually hover over the mage’s hand. Your hand should never be on fire when casting because that would burn you.

  • Void fire acts just like real fire, meaning you can extinguish just like any other flame.

  • Fire evocationists can only control fire evoked from the Void, not real flames to any degree.

  • Tier Five is the highest point that a fire mage can reach, time after that does not affect a mage’s ability to cast in any positive or negative way. A mage who just reached T5 would have the same combat skill as a mage who has been T5 for two OOC years, albeit not as much experience and knowledge and skill out of combat.

  • Remember, you do not control the emotes of your opponents. You may suggest the effects that may occur, and how they react to those effects is up to them.

  • Generally, orange fire is the most common. It can burn regular wood fairly quickly and make any metallically armored foe quite uncomfortable with its heat. Flammable objects are also easily burned (ie. paper, grass) Orange flames can generally give second to third degree burns quite easily depending on the situation.

    • Blue flame can burn regular wood and flammable objects incredibly fast, as well as cook armored foes alive with the heat. Orange flames easily give third degree burns at the least, and can char unprotected skin right off. While it is quite hot, it is NOT able to melt metal whatsoever, only heat it up enough to make it glow red.

    • I will say this again. THE CASTER IS NOT IMMUNE TO THEIR OWN FLAME!

  • Fire does not simply vanish upon burning the contacted material. Should the material be connected to other flammable material it will spread. Flammable materials include, but are not limited to; cloth, furs, and body fat. Once the fire has made contact with the real world, it is out of the caster’s control.

  • All spells are non-combustive unless explicitly listed by the spell or an extra emote is given during charging.

  • Uses up one magic slot.

OOC Reasoning

Fire evocation, and evocation in general, allows for the caster to utilize lots of creativity in their casting. However, fire evocation did not have many limits besides shape and ‘emoting exhaustion’. Though because of this vagueness, it has been hard for players to recognize powergaming in spells and sometimes the caster isn’t even aware that they are doing it.

Do note that, while combat spells are limited to the spells listed in this lore piece, I did not seek to take away the creative aspect of this evocation. That is why I did not give a specific list for out of combat spells. This means that a mage can allow their imagination to run wild as long as they stay within the limits of their tier and emote effects of their casting accordingly.

Spell lists are mandatory by LT due to the enforced lore format.

Perhaps make it so you can submit new spells through the creation of a mart? Then you could have someone who is taught the new spell, have a comment on their MA/TA saying they were taught so and so spell

I really like the writeup. It is straightforward, clear, great use of examples and I don’t think the combat spell list is too shallow. Refines what has been there before without the vagueness. Good job to all involved

Edit: I do wonder if there should be a weaker spell that takes less emotes for Tier 4 users. Fireball has had a tendency to be the ‘go to’ spell for general combat, almost the light attack of this magic in a way. However at 4 emotes it won’t be the case, a long charge up for a (somewhat) basic and small payoff.

‘Flamethrower’ seems to want to fill this space of a more ‘novice’ spell but even then takes an equal 4 emotes and more concentration and mana to utilise. Just noting this on my second readthrough. It is very rare that I combat RP so I could be wrong, I’m just pointing it out as a possible grievance some may have down the line.
