Quackers 68 Author Share Posted September 3, 2019 Turn 3 (2173) Chaos stirs within the heart of The Mud City. Quite the amount of commotion for a city that’s supposedly abandoned... Morgan’s Rifles The men find little of anything to the east. A few radroaches, a couple of odd-looking birds, but nothing too dangerous that a few rounds of ammunition couldn’t fix. The delegation heads west… (Discord) The heavy firearms come out nicely, quite the improvement and could have been very useful in the previous battle. It seems quite tricky to make anything with the resources they have. That is until one of the thinkers of the group spots someone using a slingshot on some empty cans… Army of the Northwest Trained they are, and now following orders to the letter. The Army of the Northwest becomes more militarized by the year. The radios are a welcome addition. After all, communication does always help on the battlefield. To the north, they find little to nothing aside from a few straggling ghouls. Though to the east, it is a different story. They spot several persons coming down the old highway, a few stragglers and some entire families, seemingly fleeing from the city. None of them wait to be questioned, nor do they stop to beg. They simply leave the city. Even better firearms!? The Army of the Northwest already has the best, do they not? Admitting otherwise could be seen as a weakness… Isaac grows more and more popular by the day. It seems he’s pretty good at this preaching stuff. [+1 To Charisma] Brotherhood of Steel Expedition For once, the scribes do something right. (T1 Explosives) And yet, they come again… Wait. They aren’t armed… Matter of fact, they’re going around and heading further north... Goldman’s Caravan More training, better shooting, and certainly more assurance among the men of what they’re doing when they have a gun in their hands. It seems they have a lucky break as Damien returns with the news; the block to their south is open and free of wildlife. It seemed the wildlife of the other block carried over. An infestation of critters of all shapes and sizes plagues the streets of the block to the north. Sarabeth finds the way of the rifle easier to comprehend than farming and agriculture. (T1 Heavy Gunpowder) [+1 To Intelligence] ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL The men of the Rock seem to put some of the pieces of the engine to good use. By the end of the year, their motorcycles are flying across the airfield faster than ever. Trouble is, taking apart an engine has its dangers, specifically when someone misplaces a key structure component, and it can’t be found. At least they still have the other engine to work off of… The men head east, and do return, yet bloodied and beaten. Although the block is secured, a foul ghoul infestation nearly took the lives of all the men that were dispatched to the block. Thankfully, ranged weaponry is better than kicking and scratching as the ghouls did. (-15 Population) [+1 To Perception - Stergis] The Ironclaws The boys return with a few souvenirs, a couple of pelts from some oversized rats they found in a few houses. Overall, a job well done, and a block cleared. Zeria does a decent enough job with the research. Soon enough, new weapons are being made in the forges. (T2 Melee) Sakain doesn’t mind much to improve. After all, how could you improve something that’s already quite the avid killing machine? The scouting party north reports back with little interesting information. The block is clear. The Sky Reavers It’s hard to cross a river that only has one bridge… Perhaps just… going around could work? Bean cans, high explosive, and people who have no clue what a fuse is. What could go wrong? The Republic of Riverdale The men in the north return back home, unharmed and quite full of themselves for a job well done. The west seems to be quiet... for now... ThreeDaysGrace-Riot.mp3 (T1 Explosives) The Rust Barony Wizzo’s powers seem to have run dry. There are no spirits today. These squiggles are much further than they look! It seems they come in and out from the dock to their north, disappearing and once more appearing! WHAT IS THIS SORCERY!??!?!?!?!?!? A thinking hut Wizzo shall have. Although there are no dragons, there were many ‘small’ bugs, yet they were no match for the might of Duke Duke! Ronto Ratmen All is well for the Ratmen, aside from the occasional person walking by and wanting nothing to do with the Ratmen of the north.

Vilebranch 280 Share Posted September 3, 2019 (edited) The Stone-Faces The Stone-Father stared out upon a crumbling mausoleum to the spirits of old America, a site of once wondrous mystical power now reduced to pebbles by the Great Event. It’s massive domed roof was split open like an ancient skull, allowing a great swathe of light to enter the forbidden stronghold. His visions were always correct, or so he believed. There was something ancient dwelling within, something blessed by the Relic itself. He looked about to see a spattering of newly set-up tents and abodes, complete with scavenged furniture and hastily-made wooden walls. The people he had inherited from Wohali were truly beginning to thrive in these new lands, adapting to the strange new gods which looked down on them atop pillars of concrete. He looked up at one of the stone trees once and could have sworn he saw something move at it’s crown, perhaps just a figment of his overactive imagination or perhaps a sign from the Relic. He nodded once to the men entrusted to him by Feenix and marched up the steps towards the crypt, his Speaker at his side yelling out words of encouragement to the high-energy raiders. TankM1A2 840 Share Posted September 5, 2019 ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL A quiet night at the Airfield. Strictly, all the lights were turned off after the the Sun fell - as to not draw unwanted attention. They were largely understaffed; vulnerable. Only a fraction of the Rock Island staff knew how to not fumble with a rifle in their hands, and an even smaller portion had seen actual combat. If any sizable force was determined to throw themselves against the walls… well… that would be another problem to add to the pile. The issues of clean water, electrical outages, painfully slow technological advancement. With the newly acquired blocks, they were left stretched thin. The so-called East Strip was only manned by a small listening comprising less than full-strength squad. They sat quietly tucked away in a blown out brick apartment complex. A large crater in the building started at the third floor at the northeast corner of the building. From there, they established their perch, muzzles pointed out into the darkness, in command of the street below. They took turns on watch, observing. Watching. A Cpl. Powell had just got a brief amount of shut-eye, though was stirred again as one of his squadmates dropped an ammo cartridge. He woke, helmet draw over his eyes. He pushed it back, groggily and half-awake, crawlign over towards the watchman, “Hey. I’ll take it from here.” The man looked over his shoulder, “You sleep well?” he asked, weapon still propped against his shoulder. “As sound as one can in the wasteland.” The man simply nodded, “Ight. Shifting.” he said, picking up his rifle and falling back deeper into the building. The clinks of his canteen and rucksack trailing after him. The man maneuvered around Powell, slinking against a nearby wall at the other end of the room. Powell moved to assume his comrade’s former position, laying flat on his stomach as he propped his rifle against a sandbag. He stared down the sights of his rifle, aiming at a discarded frontal cranium of a mannequin at the sidewalk across. God, I hate the fuckin’ wasteland. He considered squeezing the trigger a few times to send some rounds down range, but decided it was against his better judgment. Instead he sat there silently, eyes glued upon the perimeter. Powell at his post. To break up the monotony, he murmured, “Hey, Evans.” After a few moments from the darkness, a hoarse and hushed voice replied, “Yeah?” “**** you.” said Powell. “Back at you, brother.” said Evans, disinterested, lazily flipping him the bird from his slouched position in the corner. GrimBeard 46 Share Posted September 5, 2019 (edited) Morgan’s Rifles The grunting and exertion of dozens of workers can be heard throughout the din of construction. As before, the Colonel and his hand picked team surveyed their new land. They liked what they saw, firm ground to hold in a fight. The marshes and swamps were rife in this area, and boggy. However one particular ridge dominated the landscape. High above the water and marshy planes, it offered the Riflemen a perfect view. And it was here now their efforts are being focused. Standard regiment forts are being raised, as Morgan stakes out his new real estate. However he kept looking further east, towards the river.... *Because there a [redacted] amount of Riflemen were operating their newest mission. Under the stern command of Lieutenant Du Faunte and the engineer Ivan. Their goal was to drive for the river along this quadrant, and root out whatever they find there. This was in line with the already growing defensive live. It was clear that Morgan’s Rifles were staking their claim on the water system in the locale. Scouts would precede the advance, and constantly maintain a line of communication with the home base. Any interruption or alert would rally the entire garrison which is put on standby. In other news five bewildered Riverdalians are taken in as comrades. They are shown around, and given a feast. However the next day they are introduced to life in the Regiment. Every person works, down to the elderly and young. Above all else in the Regiment, the maintenance of the Riflemen was paramount. Ever last solider and staffer is valued. The five Riverdalians are welcomed, and temporarily armed like a Riflemen. They join the efforts of fort building, watching these Advanced ways of doing things. Catostrophy 111 Share Posted September 6, 2019 The Rust Barony The tribesmen were gathered around great bonfires, dancing and whooping into the air. Wizzo danced with them while whispering the secret words to the flames, his eyes rolled back in trance. Brogwad quietly relieved sleeping and exhausted tribals of their personal belongings to keep them safe from the revelry. There was much celebration, until Duke Duke stood from his concrete throne and raised his hands. The ceremonial scars and tattoos that covered his body were lit up in all their splendor. The people fell silent. “Now, Duke Duke shall tell you of the fight against the bugbeasts!” He roared into the night. The cheers of the gathered hundreds rang out and echoed through the crumbling concrete and twisted metal. “First, they skittered in their many numbers--numbers higher than fingers and toes! They skittered and scuttled from the holes in the earth. A challenge!” “A challenge from the earth spirits!” Wailed Wizzo, still in his trance. “First, Duke Duke stomped with his feet, and crushed them!” Duke accompanied this statement by heavily stamping his muscled legs, making some of the tribal women swoon and giggle. “Then, he choppy-chopped with his knightsword!” He slashed at the air violently, whooping and jumping around the largest of fires. The people watched in rapt attention. “Two hands of bugbeasts fell by Duke Duke’s strength alone! No more bugbeasts, and a new place is ready for the people to safely scavenge!” The people cheered loudly, praising the bravery and strength of Duke Duke, which he basked in magnanimously. Krefarus 65 Share Posted September 7, 2019 Army of the Northwest Year 2073 ——————————————————— “And what had they, the mighty ancients, earned for their rampant heresy, sin, and corruption!? Look around and see! Their very civilization laid low, their lives taken, and an eternal suffering earned! Only the pious and the promising were spared from the wrath of the most high, hallowed be his name! But weep not for the ancients, they were sinful and unrighteous! The Great Flame saw them as such, for he is all knowing and omnipiscent! His punishment was, JUST!” Issac laid down his hands, retrieving the holy text from the sash around his waist. He cracked the tome open to a premarked page, and begun to read once more. “And behold, the wrath of the heavens was upon them. Great pillars of fire tore the earth at its seems, from its source, tremendous waves of destruction, which laid low even the mightiest of man’s work! Only the RIGHTEOUS, those who showed promise, those who would build the realm of men anew were spared from his divine cleansing…” With a thud the book closed and the Holy man once more addressed the crowd, a warm smile covering his face. “You see! My brothers and sisters… Only through the grace of the Great Flame, hallowed be his name, were our ancestors permitted to survive the Great Inferno! It is our Holy mission to redeem this wasteland, and build a nation of the most holy and pious! Already I’ve heard whispers, beyond the gates of our humble nation, a city of heretics, sin, and worse! It is not our mission, it is our divine obligation to purify the nations of the unholy!...” As the preacher finished speaking, he was met with roars of approval from his followers. The pious had begun to outnumber the heretical. Just last year the first and only temple dedicated to the Great Flame had been erected and ordained by the High Priest Issac Hayes. The flame of religion had spread across the colony, though there were some who still remained unconvinced.
