STEEL HORIZON

1891

After two years of bitter conflict, the War of Gwangnanese Aggression has ended. After a conference in Gwangdon, Praharavkan led allied forces have restored Emmerian territory, and occupied much of the old Peoples’ Republic. The north east of the country, however, has been occupied by the CNSR, who have declared that the Gwangnan SSR has now joined their Confederation. Much of the Gwangnanese fleet fled to the CNSR, and most of the Gwangnanese war criminals also sought refuge and service in the CNSR.

The year is a peaceful one, for once. Apparently the imminent threat of all out global war caused many to take a step back, and military spending is at its lowest this decade as cooler heads suddenly prevail. For one, no dreadnoughts are completed this year, and in general military expansion is largely halted - excluding the raising of a Sepoy Division by the Western Skies Trading Company, of course.

Disaster strikes in Cumberland this year as the Grand Principality is subject to an enormous terrorist attack. With lax air controls, a dozen freighters loaded with high powered explosives crash into Royal Shipyards, destroying many facilities and wiping out the Klendari dreadnoughts being constructed there. There is widespread international outrage, as many nations pledge detectives and investigators to an international hunt for the perpatrators.

The Klendari, though set back in naval expansion for the year, continue to have the highest military expenditure in the world, as the Klendari Sultan continues the expansion of his army, welcoming three new brigades of armour to his service. Perzah, meanwhile, is also expanding the army, adding two divisions of men - armed with the latest equipment (courtesy of Erdimir Industries) - to their army. They have also taken official control of the disputed land from which they dispersed Carnelian settlers.

THE VENZEATIC LEAGUE

Gas masks will be ready for 1893.

King James VII of Brennan gladly accepts trade agreements and closer diplomatic ties to the Venzeatic League.

THE EMPIRE OF SYULLIN

Syullin rail development continues, and the country is expected to have +1 development by 1895, with continued annual investment.

Train engine improvements will be prepared by 1894.

THE ARCHDUCHY OF ANDROS-BELLICA

Beyond Nikstrana proves to be a decent, if somewhat idle film. While they are praised for production quality and acting skills, the plot is described as somewhat lacklustre. The film just breaks even.

The Vosterburg line is expected to be ready for 1893, with such a high level of investment.

Mechanisation will be ready by 1896.

Steel mill improvements will be ready by 1895.

THE KARAKHWA

With continued annual investments at this level, it is predicted that there will be a highly capable defensive line in place around Yotal’s Throne by 1893.

The raids on the Klendari continue, but they are becoming wise to the ways of the Karakhwa, and 1 Yotal’s Hawk is destroyed, while a cruiser is laid up for 2 years from damage. +9000G

Ozan is largely unfit to defend itself from such raids, and quickly its fleet is forced to lurk over her major cities, leaving the Karakhwa free to pillage all around the country. +12000G

Valdek manages to fight back a little, this year, destroying 1 DD and 3 corvettes. +5000G

Solomon hears tell of a strange yellow man, a former NCO to the Gwangnanese Dominion, hiding somewhere in Cumberland.

Cloud Hunter quickly learns of industrialised nations on the south western coast of the continent - the Kingdom of Brennan, Empire of Syullin and the Carieux Nation are ripe pickings.

THE EMPIRE OF VALDEK

Valdenian anti-Karakhwa measures see some success this year, and they destroy 1 DD and 3 corvettes. -5000G.

No deposits are found in the immediate vicinity of the cities, but scouting airships report that they have seen areas that look likely from the air. They are Koibitanese held territories, however.

Many nations attend. (Discord)

THE GRAND DUCHY OF PRAHARAVKA

Submachine guns will be ready for 1896.

Better steel production will be available by 1893. +1 steel production in 1893.

THE GRAND DUCHY OF CUMBERLAND

A massive terrorist attack strikes Cumberland. 12 airshipyards are destroyed in a destructive blaze of fire. Thousands are killed and the Klendari ships being constructed disappear in a flash.

THE GALLIAN TRADE LEAGUE

The V200 Engine will be ready by 1893. +2 Knots for each ship.

THE CARNELIAN SULTANATE

Mejhai greatly appreciates the gesture, and further pledge their support against the Klendari.

With such a large flotilla and such a technological advantage, Zhao Lin Bei swallows his pride, prostrating himself before the Emir Omar, and pledging his allegiance to the Sultan.

Perzah responds by flooding their half of the island with troops, moving men to the border and moving their airfleet over the island. However, the real threat comes from the East, as Klendari troops and ships once more gather at Ankeyf, hovering beside the Kesun line…

TIERRA ROJA

The deaths of the two engineers causes uproar across Tierra Roja! How dare those rascals force poor *El Presidente* to shoot them by their idiotic and cowardly actions! A nation wide group funding attempt sees El Presidente with a brand new, shiny yacht, courtesy of his people! +1 destroyer

Trade chat.

The outposts are successfully resettled.

REPUBLIC OF EMMERIA

Emmeria begins the long road to recovering from the scars of the war. It is a conflict the people will never forget, and they look bitterly to their neighbors now.

THE WESTERFIELD CONFEDERACY

Radio will be prepared for 1892.

Mechanised vehicles will not be ready until 1900.

Better motorised vehicles will be ready in 1894.

Roleplay:

Cumberland had been shocked to its very core, an attack of pure terror against civilian shipbuilders. The Government itself suspects foreign actors, an attack such as this would not be carried out by Cumberlanders on their own people regardless of their political affiliation. The Grand Prince attempts to call the Country together in the face of this attack and pledges to investigate and punish those involved once they have been brought to light. To this effort it is instructed from the Throne for the Ministry of Public Safety and Security to be established to conduct a thorough investigation but also to keep tabs on domestic subversives within Cumberlands borders, though the latter is not made public. The attack itself marks the darkest day for Cumberland since the horrors of the Great War, most of the Navy is recalled to the Home Territories in order to prevent any further attacks on Cumberland Shipyards, a notable exception to this are Colonial Freighters and the HMS Prince Albert, the Randgritz Class Battlecruiser near the New World.

Finances are raised and coincidently stretched thin, Shipyards had been a great boon to the Grand Principality and its annual budget. The Klendari had effectively bailed out the Grand Prince by strengthening trade ties and buying up much of the stockpiled resources and production slots in the remaining Military Industry of Cumberland. The bonds between the Government and the Klendari were becoming more and more positive due to this, with the money earned from the new deals the Cumberland Budget is strengthened and are able to rebuild the shipyards, expand the civilian economy and grow the overseas Colonies along with the other domestic reforms that are so desperately needed to increase public security and mourn the fallen shipbuilders. The Colony in the New World in the East is dubbed as the “Prince Albert Islands” with the first Colony being fully upgraded to be dubbed as “Port Albert” in honour of the son and heir of Prince Maximillian and the Battlecruiser that escorted the venture.

Actions

Twelve Airshipyards are to be constructed to replace that which was lost, in order to recover the Shipbuilding Industry, it is a massive Government intervention. (120,000)

A Memorial for those who lost their lives in the devastating terrorist attacks would be set up and the date of an attack is declared a National Memorial Day. Politics aside, all are invited to join the Grand Prince in a vigil. (20,000)

The Ministry for Public Safety and Security is set up following the recent attacks and would be given adequate funds to investigate the terrorist attack and be given powers in order to set up safeguards to prevent further loss of life. (37,000)

An Outpost in the New World is upgraded to becoming a full Colony. (7,500)

Eighteen Civilian Factories are to be set up this year in order to grow the Cumberland Economy. (90,000)

GRAND DUCHY OF PRAHARAVKA

A quiet year in Praharavka, all things considered. The war is won, however leaving behind many grudges even to the victor. The Army blames the Navy for allowing the war crime-complicit Gwangnanese Navy to escape into CNSR airspace. On the other hand, the Navy, points blame to the Army for not acting decisively enough and allowing Gwangnanese territory to be absorbed by the CNSR. Other than that, many are content with the outcome of the war. Unlike their less fortunate Emmerian friends across the mountains, Praharavkan troops never went face to face with the horrific gas weaponry employed by Adachi. Nevertheless, a mandate passes in which gas masks are to be issued to each and every soldier, with plenty kept in reserve on the homefront. More tanks roll off the production lines, and the Ducal Administration seeks more able-bodied young men to recruit - seeing now that Praharavka controls a vast stretch of territory. Veterans of the War of Gwangnanese Aggression maintain a permanent station in Gwangdon, while new bloods are drawn to the border with the CNSR, ever so wary of the Red’s next moves.

A conflict of interest between the Leg Infantry and the Armored Cavalry! While the Armored Cavalry requests additional funds for rapid and lightweight cavalry tanks to keep pace with the motorized troops, the Infantry fears that such vehicles will be unable to weather the modern weapons of war. The War Ministry, for now, agrees with the Foot, allocating resources to the R&D of a next-gen heavy tank!

Westerfield Confederacy

The vast open prairie was a stunning vista for all new comers.  Usually they could see herds of cattle and horses ranging on all the grass. Hamlets and small towns littered the land, many populated by even just a dozen. Ranches and farms took up acres upon acres, and where many newcomers would end up. Generally the trains were for the rich and military. Most travelled by wagon, horse, and their own feet. General Joe Brayden speculated the Ceylon conference and watched the other occupants of his train car. Many were businessmen and pastors of powerful churches. They had taken Westerfield’s offer just like any other class. All sorts of nations were represented in just this one cart. Eventually the train reaches the capital of Rurick’s Ridge.

The capital was a proud testament to Westerfield’s roots. The city hosted a vast population for the prairies standard. It was all situated along the spine of a large ridge spanning a few miles. The gently sloping sides of the ridge formed to a gradual flat and level top. It was an odd sight in the otherwise flat land of grass. And it was an odd engineering feat indeed. It had been artificially made by a prospector of the name Rurick. What was truly unique about the place is it overlooked a massive battleship graveyard. Westerfield was host to many vast air-fleets. Many recruitment ships to suck up manpower from the land. The largest battle had taken place right over the now sprawling Capital.

maxresdefault.jpg

As Joe Brayden takes this all in, he steps off the train stations platform. His business for now was not in the Capital. President Bixby and the cabinet knew about the failures at the Ceylon Conference. His new task was in front of him, camped in a large pasture near the city. The Confederate Army was a small but proud one. Full of firebrands and veterans of the Great War. Many did not want to fight in that terrible undertaking. But now they volunteered to serve the Confederacy. However a order from the Government and Secretary of War had a tall order. General Brayden and his staff are prompted to begin a complete overhaul. This small army of half sheriff/half troopers will be formed into a proper army group. The first of many needed to defend the vats swathes of land already settled. Let alone the open land that lay all around.....

-The Valdenian West Koibita Company passes a number of reforms, officially creating a Colonial Army. Included in this is legislation regarding ‘Sepoys.’ Native soldiers are treated significantly better than their counterparts. Given standard shelter, amenities, food, leisure, pay, as well as many rights not afforded to other colonial subjects in a bid to decrease the chance of future revolts.

THE SARDIAN PACT

p38Sgyvs76cEtYhYdeQpfwb7qh-dToY_lE9lwtVEFmhGIQ76LBfYVpG8fPESsNIOdg7Rc2nBYR5NeintyCF3SkNbubv-vTVU1SFXUpCDGUzcdU5T7TUh2N0FPRcOPT6enaJu9G22

A spectre is haunting Sardia - the spectre of Klendar. Who among us has not felt its choking grasp, or lived in fear of its hired bandits? Only through steel and bloodshed has Sardia been freed, and still the Klendari remain unsated.

The new sultan has moved warships and soldiers to our borders. He has funded piracy, not just of our nations but the world over. His lackeys have made baseless claims to our sovereign land, and attacked our citizens with their armed thugs. His manner is haughty beyond reason, his demands insulting as they are ridiculous. With every year he gathers his strength, and to all of us his intentions are utterly transparent: the continued enslavement of our fair continent.

The sultan understands only force, but his days of supremacy are over. Sardia requires a new system, one built on mutual need and mutual prosperity. Sardia requires that men no longer bow to tyrants, but stand united in the face of aggression.

For these reasons, we gather in the ancient city of Sard to agree to the following founding articles:

ARTICLE I: WAR.

-An attack on one is an ATTACK ON ALL.

-The pact may declare an offensive war with the support of at least ALL BUT ONE full member.

ARTICLE II: PEACE.

-Each full member retains ABSOLUTE authority within their borders.

-All disputes between member states (vis-a-vis territory, tariffs, extradition), shall be mediated and resolved by the Pact Arbiter, duly appointed by a simple majority of full members.

-The Pact Arbiter is responsible for negotiating treaties with outside powers. All such agreements must be confirmed by at least ALL BUT ONE full member before becoming legally binding.

ARTICLE III: UNIFIED COMMAND.

-Pact headquarters are to be established in Sard, to facilitate efficient coordination of member capabilities.

-In the event of a general war, all national militaries shall be subject to a unified command structure under the command of a Field Marshal, duly appointed by a simple majority of full members.

May the Pact prosper.

SIGNATORIES

His Majesty Abdul I, Sultan of the Carnelian Coast

Kalifata Darius i-Nazr

His Grace King Amenamen XII of Baresh

His Grace, King Ashtzaph III of Mejhai

Levander Bixby, President of the Westerfield Confederacy

The Archduchy of Andros-Bellica

as it was the Year of Our Lord, 1892

-+-

The choir of cannons, the beating of footsteps upon far-off paths. In 1892 the Archduchy of Andros-Bellica had, with a little assistance, made for itself a place among the colonial powers of the world. With great pride, the second son of Archduke Karl Fredrik had claimed for his father a far-flung nation to rule over, and soon the old circles of Anlundic noblesse found themselves filled with rumors of the Bellicans preparing to reclaim their ancient imperial title.

-+-

YEAR IN REVIEW, 1892

-+-

3 Jan. | Nationally, the airshipyards churn, but not for Bellican use – it soon becomes obvious that they’ve been leased to Modevia for the year!

5 Jan. | Two more light infantry brigades of well-equipped regulars are raised, even as Bellica begins military-industrial expansion, opening yet another steel mill and three more armament factories.

20 Feb. | The buildup of the Vosterburg Line continues – this year, they pay 5.000 ABM and dedicate a vast majority of their military capacity [10 AP] to its construction, building stationary artillery, preparing reinforced concrete and bunkers, and setting up barbed wire lines. [Total: 15.000 ABM, 25 AP]

16 May | The End of an Era is set to debut, with total investment of 7.500 ABM.

20 Aug. | 20.000 ABM is sent to Modevia for the third year in a row.

9 Sep. | In the Azhoni capital of Okuoka-kyo, the fairly large, and now quite empty, region centered around where the Shogun’s palace once stood is turned into the Okuoka Palatial District. A giant, walled off region with a moat is split into two further regions – Okuoka Castle, and the Governor’s Palace. Okuoka castle is built in the local style, complete with its zen gardens, tiered architecture, and interior decorations (including rows of half-destroyed armor taken from the bodies of the defeated), but has been modified slightly to allow for modern infrastructure, such as electricity and sewers. The Governor’s Palace is separately walled off, and protected by concrete-reinforced bunkers, barbed wire, and dozens of well-armed patrols, and is a Bellican-styled palace and blocks of townhouses, for the Bellicans deployed or assigned to actually govern the colonial nation. The Governor’s Palace is inhabited by Aaren vi Lovken, Military Governor of Azhon, and his subordinates.

12 Sep. | Bellican schools are chartered in each of the major Azhoni cities, 500 ABM towards each for a total of 1.500 ABM, where the locals are taught the language and customs of Bellica, and that, while a second class citizen of the mighty homeland, they are still a part of its glorious empire, and shall share in its spoils whilst being allowed to keep their own ways intact in general. It appears Bellica has chosen the route of slow, kind integration! Notably, Anlund, and Bellica in particular, looks slightly bigger on these maps than it perhaps actually is... Every Azhoni official and warrior class family’s children are forcibly enrolled in these courses, or must take tests to prove their knowledge of it should they live in the countryside.

13 Sep. | In exchange, a few lower-level Bellican nobles, generally distant relatives of barons and counts, are sent to Azhon, where they are to partake in local customs and rituals, and learn the ways and techniques of the warrior class therein. A Bellican clan is formed towards this venture, the Okuoka, under Prince Cassian Markus and his chief retainer Vasily Aarenov vi Lovken, made up generally of Androsian duelists, and soon begins to recruit a selection of able warriors of average repute or better that had lost their masters in ritual battle. Their clan markings are two cranes, and between them the character for Bellica in Azhoni. All within the clan, even Cassian, are to wear the clothing, arms, and armor of the warrior class, ride Azhoni horses, and live within the Okuoka Palatial District’s castle. The castle is furthermore guarded by five thousand Ashigaru musketeers.

18 Sep. | The Ministry of Commerce approves 30.000 ABM towards building Trade Depots in the newly acquired Azhoni cities, hoping to foster, well, trade between the Azhoni and their benevolent overlords.

3 Oct. | An outpost is built in northeastern Andros. It’s used as a radio station, mostly, sending out music broadcasts to nearby nations, and protected by 20 Bellican Howitzers and a brigade of light infantry.

Republic of Emmeria
1892

The war has finally come to a close, and the time to rebuild has arisen. Homes and cities may be rebuilt, however families and the people of Emmeria has been struck with a wound perhaps not even time itself could heal. Tens of thousands of people have been mercilessly slaughtered.

With the Communists having fled, been jailed or killed. Arthur Cook and his Emmerian Nationalist Party have begun attacking anyone either publically or verbally if they are of Gwangnom or Kandistani descent. Claiming that the northern Kandistani are no different than the barbarian tribes they once were made up of. His popularity amongst the populace has grown as many see him as a stout and unmoving man.

However another group has arisen, with the war over. Colonel Ashton Rézia having retired from his command holds much loyalty from the citizens who served under him. While many Traditional Emmerian’s also support him as a member of the Rézia family. Now that the war is over elections are soon to come in 1894.

The Emmerian Nationalist Party and the Emmerian Royalist Party both hold Emmeria’s future in hand. Soon the Republic will see who earns its leadership.

Harsh Lessons learned from the war against the communist and Gwangnam Invaders. Fighting in the valley and fields requires armed and mobile forces. Emmeria attempts to create their own mechanized vehicles for quick transport and offensive capabilities (1R, Mod)

As Emmeria continues to benefit from its Steel production they begin work in creating a more efficient process with modern tools and machinery. Hoping to allow facilities to produce more than they already do. (1 R, 93)

Emmerian Medical Care is given attention, infections from injury or poor care still plague people of the world. Scientists and Medical Researchers are tasked to find a way to combat infections. (1R, 97)

With peace having been won, even at such an atrocious cost The Free Man’s Army is disbanded any the few hundred thousand citizen soldiers turn in their equipment.

Kesun shattered. Perzah crushed. All of Sardia on the march. The tides of war shift rapidly, and already the fledgling Sardian Pact must fight for its life.

As the full might of Klendar bears down on the Carnelian Coast, news of Field Marshal Pashik’s incapacitation rocks the Pact’s morale to the core. His men beat a desperate retreat to friendly ground, fleeing an enemy that is both faster and stronger. But help is coming.

In a rare public appearance, Sultan Abdul I declares the war to be both righteous and winnable. This is not the first time the Klendari have stepped onto Carnelian soil, and just as before they will be ejected. They will be stopped, and they will be thrown back from whence they came.

Across Sardia, armies converge on the east. Across Sardia, factories churn out rifles, planes, tanks. New warships rise from Pact shipyards, new soldiers pledge themselves to the Pact cause. Not since the Great War has the continent’s order been tested, but perhaps now at last, the time has come to decide how it will be ruled.

--------------

Foreign Policy

[The Sardian Pact] - Central command’s recommendations for production focus on the imbalance of air power between the Pact navy and that of the enemy. While any and all land assets are useful at this stage, the Pact is in dire need of more capital ships or, if that is unfeasible, cruisers. Field Marshal Pashik’s last missive before being gassed reminds everyone that the Klendari have a vast industrial base, and all are needed to match it.

The Karakhwa

-Disgust overwhelms Solomon as he learns of the terrorist attacks that have wrought such damage and death upon Cumberland. Loyalty may have faltered, but his blood runs hot at the thought of his homeland burning in such a dishonorable way. Disheartened, he turns his Destroyer west, to the sea and beyond, to Carnelian colonies. After all, all Karakhwa are free, who will stop him but duty itself?

UE3Wu2c.jpg

-In Sardia, Heart of Iron turns his attention to a new target, something far different from the typical mudman. The Klendari loom on the horizon, casting a long shadow over Sardia, and ships alone will not stop them. It is genius and guile that will gnaw at their foundations until they crumble. Many a night is spent around the communal fire, discussing tactics and plans with his Iron Dogs. Chases Fire speaks always of raids, of the old way, but even if Heart of Iron keeps his face steady, doubt tickles at his heart. The old way will not stop the Klendari monolith. A far larger stone is needed to put a halt to them…

-A lone corvette flies to Port Carnelia, where it docks and announces to the world that it is from Cloud Hunter’s expedition into the west. They claim to have circumnavigated the world, and bring her glorious feat with them, while she reaps the riches of her accomplishment in a new world. A glorious moment for the Karakhwa, and Cloud Hunter. They claim that she has named the ocean between Koibita and the north-eastern continent the Hasselic Ocean, after her tribe, and the new land upon which she has landed is to be called Kahia.

-------------

Mountains rose up all around the lead ship like silent sentinels, peering down at the Karakhwa fleet as it scurried through their dresses. The rain and mist lay upon their slopes like dark capes, rolling down in sheets and turning their sharp crags into uncertain peaks. Somewhere, thunder cracked, like a shattering glacier, and Cloud Hunter smiled.

She stood at the prow of her new vessel, the Heart of the Storm. Long burnished windpipes wound out from the prow, along the sides of the ship and to the back, from which a deep, vibrating wail emenated and melding into the screaming wind. Her men ran about her in a frenzy, preparing the ship for the oncoming storm. One of her new warchiefs had insinuated that it might be best to avoid the storm and circumvent the mountains. She had hamstrung him and left him to hang on the prow of her ship, letting the windpipes capture his voice and amplify it for the rest of the fleet. Her hands curled into tight fists, her golden bracelets jangling. He had lacked faith, to even suggest it- She took a deep breath and turned to Kiss the Sun, who stood behind her, his hands clasped behind his back.

He was thinner now, than before, and his eyes were deep-set and shadowed. Not nearly as attractive as he had once been. A shame. “Make sure the followers do not panic in the storm. Anyone who does dies.”

Shà Hashtaal?”

“You heard me,” she snapped, turning away from him and staring at the storm with avid eyes. It towered above her, roiling forth from the mountains and towering above even them. How could anyone do anything but worship such tremendous power? “I have brought this storm forth, and it will bend to my will. Those who panic lack faith.” Then she spun around ot him and grabbed him by the chin, her golden nails dug into his dark skin. “Don’t you agree?”

She could see herself reflected in his dark eyes, her eyes surrounded by gold and grey paint.

“Of course, Shà Hashtaal.”

With a nod, she spun around and leapt up onto the railing as a violent gust of wind shook the ship. Her men adjusted with the prowess of those born in the air, and she held tightly to a rope, balancing precariously, with nought but darkness and clouds below her. She imagined herself, as seen by the others. Powerful, proud. A goddess amongst mortals. A wide grind covered her face and she leapt to the very front of her ship, standing atop the newly added figurehead. It was made entirely of the bones of those sacrificed to her glory on the towering altar in the Throne of Thunder, laquered in the gold pulled from the mines in which her people toiled. Crafted and moulded from skulls, ribs, femurs, it drew a perfect shape, a woman with her arms held out to her sides, staring up at the sky with empty eye sockets made of bone. It was her.

1892

The skies are brimming of foreign vessels reaching the lands of Syullin and their neighbours. The Dedicants are concerned with the current safety of the Empire, advising Emperor Jun-Seo to invest into the rapid armanent of the nation, to avoid falling behind. Given their concerns were not unfounded based on the rumors of aggression that has happened in the West, words of war trickling in from the new envoys received from the foreigners, the Emperor gives in and orders the allocation of funds for a proper self defense force for the Empire, which should also increase the power projection on their continent.

On a lighter note, the double bond between Syullin and the neighbouring Brennan is announced, with a wedding and a bretrothal taking place! A pair of princes and princesses join in order to forge an alliance that will be unbreakable and strengthen both nations alike, for the good and safety of the whole continent!

Actions:

A marriage and a bethrothal is conducted between the Empire of Syullin and the Kingdom of Brennan, Prince James of Brennan marriesthe Emperor’s sister Min-Seo Sule-Bahk, whilst the Imperial Successor Jun-San Sule-Bahk is betrothed to Princess Elizabeth of Brennan. Great festivities are arranged throughout the Empire for the future alliance on the continent. Together they may lead the native people to greatness! (-5,000 Syl for festivities)

The new Emperor Jun-Seo continues his policy of industrial development, in order to increase the GNP, as well as the resources available to all areas of the nation. Similar to last year the improvements are as follows:

The rail system needs to brought to full speed, in line with the newly started development of the new train models, he wants that all cities and towns have full access to the network. Furthermore, the roads need to improved and paved accordingly, to allow for easier traffic, motorized or not, and wide enough so they may avoid eachother and not clog up the roads. (Another -20,000 Syl into Infrastructure; Total: 1890: 20k, 1891: 20k)

Another trade depot is opened due to the new influx of merchants from the Venzeatic League. (-10,000 Syl for 1 Trade Depot)

The Empire constructs the first Mogi-Type A series fighter craft to supplement the lighter Sae-Type A fighter craft built previous year. (-3 AP; -7,000 Syl for 20 fighters)

In order to fulfill the fuel demands of the growing fleet and airforce, the Empire begins the exploitation of another Vitramium deposit. Furthermore in the closest city a refinery is built to acommodate the surplus of ore. (-10,000 Syl for a V-Mine and V-Refinery)

The Airshipyards of the Empire begin the construction of two Dogsuli-Class destroyers. (-4 ASP; -6,000 Syl for 2 Destroyers)

Another Airshipyard is constructed, as well as another Steelmill in order to increase the resource capacity of the nation for the future. (-12,500 Syl for said buildings)

The remainder is invested into the Agricultural project by the Emperor’s Mother. (-15,500 Syl, valued at 17,050 Syl)

Continued diplomatic outreach to the neighbours as well as the newly met foreigners from abroad. (MOD)

Assessment of the current research projects. (MOD)

The remaining resources are being stockpiled. (3 S, 4 VR)

Research (Passive 3 slots + 10% bonus):

The old Longhorn Rifles brought over (with schematics even, probably to be able to reproduce them as needed) from the Old World have proved outdated and very clunky. Whilst there was originally no need to improve upon the ol’ reliable, the Dedicants deem it suitable to upgrade the general equipment, introduce standardization and allow for easier construction of infantry rifles, as the Longhorns were mostly made by hand, with only a few steps automated. They wish to call it the Bohoja Rifle.

(Started 1889, a new bolt-action rifle to replace the predecessor from the Old World, due in 1891; concluded)

The improvement of agricultural methods has been a longstanding issue with the Empire. Whilst mostly forgotten due to other more important “concerns”, a new wind to push projects regarding optimal crop rotation and soil retention has come from nobody else than the Empress herself. Having a garden herself, where she grows vegetables for her family and most importantly for her dying husband, it is a very personal topic to her. By her claims, good soil gives good crops. Good crops are inhabitated by good spirits that give good life essence to the people, to prolong their lives and increase their fertility, making them strong and healthy as a whole.

(Re-started 1889, after six years of “pause”, due in 1897)

In order to not only increase the capacity, but also the speed of transportation for wares and people across the growing Empire of Syullin, a new train engine is to replace the old fashioned coal powered models. Vitramite comes in mind as a potential candidate.

(Started 1889, due in 1894)

Communication over long distances proves to be still difficult. The wiring is often faulty and outdated, the cables not always capable of resisting the unregular electricity from the power grids of the nation. So, Project Bosang, is meant to streamline and optimize these grids of the nation. Starting with Voltage, Ampere, et cetera, they are to eliminate and unify the methods of generating power as well as bringing them up to par, so that the cables (and other devices of course) may not suffer the same issues they had in the past.

(Started 1891)

The Juverin Republic

Octavian sighed, as he looked out upon the vast mountain range that laid before his home in Noctum. While he would be stuck here, dealing with both Sultanate envoys. This was a time for the Republic to strike deals, and profit like the days of the Great War.
