42 – A new Era

 

“For there are decisions to make, and every decision made creates a new timeline. A timeline that begins then and perishes at the end of all time.” – 42nd Guardian.

 

“A guardian is a being interconnected through all timelines, omnipresent and fully aware of the events in other timelines. With the chaos sowed by the dark guardian, others were able to stop it, others were not. In this aspect of my being, it never came to the climax that would tear and devour this home of ours. This time, it was on even terms for everyone, growing out of their infancy of their planets, no longer tied to their single homeworld, their cradle, but just beginning to set out onto the stars.” – “And then? What happens next?” – “Young one, what happens next is never certain, for it is all about making decisions and pursuing one very distinct string of time.”

 

The tale of Onwards has reached its culmination, with combined forces, the races of the 42nd galaxy were able to hold off and ultimately destroy the Drag’nix, but the losses were severe. A struggle that would not be mirrored every time in every timeline. In this one, there were no Ar’gakari, no dealings between guardians of different galactic clusters. Just, home. And home alone. A new and different era, of exploration of first contacts, of meeting others. Beyond.

 


 

Welcome to “New Era”, yet another sci-fi nation FRP (running out of names), set in another timeline, set in another universe altogether. At this point, assuming you are familiar with it, I do not have to go into too much detail about the whole FRP. If you do not know nation FRPs, it's about you basically guiding your nation's path through time.

 

As opposed to the predecessor Onwards, like Beyond, a “New Era” takes place starting in the year 2200, after the first few decades of spaceflight for the races native to this galaxy. There has not been any first contact yet, as space is vast and distances are still traversed with low powered above light speed drives. The choice of planets you call home is yours. They can be lush continental worlds such as Earth, or a barren desert planets alike Mars. Maybe you even prefer hiding under thick atmospheres like Venus, or the blank coldness of a moon like Europa.

 

What you have to do is fill in this fancy app beneath, await your acceptance, so we may work out the remaining details together for your nation. If everything is in place, the RP thread will follow soon and the story shall begin.

Background:

 

Peace reigns on Solot’dohol, as it has since the end of the Turbulence. The Saryn race is united in its State – a sweeping peace and planetary reform as created by the strongest and wisest of their race. An eon ago, their peoples looked outwards to the stars and created for themselves an empire. Solot’dohol was joined by a young Dandaaril Loor, and then a younger Triat Fangh, and thusly the Saryn had become masters of the cosmos. They looked past their borders, towards the center of the galaxy, then swept it across the empty space that surrounded their cluster of stars. Everywhere, there was nothing. In the habitable planets they had come across, there was only primitive life, or worse, sweeping plains of nothing. Soon they began to believe that was all there was to the galaxy. Perhaps, they thought, that was all there was to the universe. And so they stopped, and for a thousand years the Saryn lived in decadent complacency, served well by their rigidly structured society and peaceful nature. Their empire dwindled and collapsed as all do, but their Gaian homeworlds sat clean, perfected by a thousand generations. Infrastructure, too, dwindled, and still nothing needed to be done. Life was good on their ancient triad of planets, after all, good enough for an eon more.

 

But the State is made imperfect through its peoples’ ambitions, and animals must eat.

Nation Name: Sol Empire

Race: Solarin

Background:
The Sol Empire is the result of humanities ascension to the stars after The Long Night. An event that forever changed humanity. In the year of 2126 a large unknown object had entered the system, many nations prepared for Humanities first contact and the United Nation attempted to contact this unknown visitor. Peace nor communication was the objective of these Xenos. Late December in 2126 the invasion had began, the capital cities of the United States, Russia, and China were struck and decimated. The UN quickly collapsed during the beginning stages of the war, as cooperation quickly fell apart and individual nations fought for their very survival they turned to the one weapon mankind had preserved for each other.

Thousands of Nuclear Missiles erupted from Earth striking targets planet side and in orbit. The main massive craft and its smaller ships were obliterated, but this victory came at a massive cost to human lives. These machines continued to ravage earth without guidance or leadership, humanity slowly collapsed into what seemed to be a never ending war. Victories in some places and severe losses in others. A small faction in Ukraine began to take traction in coordinating efforts with its more immediate neighbors, slowly pushing them back. No mercy was given by either side, eventually Humanity was able to defeat and exterminate these invaders.

By 2145 The Xeno Onslaught was mostly destroyed, and only small pockets remained across the world. The surviving old and new world governments came together united at last against this foe. The Military which had lead all aspects of surviving human life to victory in destroying the final traces of these machines in 2150 declared Earth united and proclaimed the greatest and first victory Humanity had achieved as a singular entity.

On December 24th, 2150 the massive enemy ship had finally broken apart in orbit above the earth and the sun had finally shown. The horrors of the Long Night were done. Realizing that the galaxy was no place for the weak or cautious Earth formed the Sol Empire, Humanity had been reforged in those 26 long and dreadful years to arise as a new breed of being united as one people, one race. Individual Freedoms and Natural Rights has been merciless buried in the dirt, as the government had won it’s species survival this would be its purpose to forever ensure the survival of mankind at any and all cost.

The Light of Sol spread across the earth, and the Solarin’s had arisen to claim a galaxy for their own people. No Xeno force would ever again bring about such destruction upon earth or its saviors. It would be another 50 years before Mankind pushed to the stars, focused on rebuilding Earth and awaiting another attack that would never come. Finally by 2200 plans to expand beyond the Sol System had been put forward.

Nation name: Republic of Galaron

Race: Galaron (A.k.a. advanced platypuses)

 

Background:

The people of Galaron arose from the planet with the same name, which was incidentally named after the ancient god of the Mussanite belief which was believed to have sacrificed himself to create the world. Initially the race had many names for itself, differing from nation to nation, culture to culture. The unified entity that would become known as the Republic of Galaron would arise in the year 560 AR (After revolution) (2150 AD) The planet of Galaron was then subsequently divided into five administrative regions, for each continent on the planet. With each continental government managing domestic affairs. Whilst every 8 years an election would be done for the Grand Assembly, where people would vote for political parties representing their intrests proportionally. With there often being formed ruling coaltions, with the party leader with the most votes becoming Grushdal (president) and the leader of the second biggest party becoming Mirudam (sort of vice-president)

 

The Grand Assembly supervises officially military spending, colonization efforts, foreign affairs (mostly internal diplomacy for now) and legislation relating to Galaronian ethics and the relations between the various planetary or continental governments. 

In the year 580 AR the planet of Barun was colonized and now serves as a fully functioning member of the Republic.

Nation Name: The Tjieran Unitary State

Race: (First come, first serve, refer to the list in the game mechanics) Tjieran

Background: (Preferable. Feel free to do as you see it suitable.)

The Tjeiran Unitary state was formed in 2085 after the successful reuniting of the lost colony of Tj’ack, the leadership taking on the name of Tj’ack which means The Unitary in their native language. Though the Unitary had existed since 2025, the Tj’ack had broken off from the home planet of Tjiera in a bloodless campaign to free themselves of a planet so far away to really control them. The succession however caused a great deal of animosity between both planets as the Tj’ack quickly formed a republic and fielded a small navy within the short few years it had been separated. Unitary forces, woefully authoritarian in their ways were sent out in 2079 to retake the planet and bring it hopefully peacefully under the united role of the Unitary again. Their arrival in 2081 went unnoticed and soon attempts were successful in raiding the Tj’ack republic as the usage of the first ever carrier and strike-craft soundly defeated the planetary forces over the course of a few months. Ever since the Tj’ack had been brought back into the fold, their culture had  to be reshaped and in an effort to bring about more unity the obvious name-sake was chosen.

The Groukoxxot Clan grew from perhaps peculiar roots. Like all Alduu'uuranean, they lived freely in space. Massive ‘Lounge Ships’ were the start of all life for Clans. A highly coveted prize, and many found themselves serving on them. As this circular history continues of these pirate species, the Groukoxxot Clan slowly has come into play. 

 

The Groukoxxot were not quite the Pirates plundering the galaxy like some of their kin. They have lived on the fringes of civilization, in fragmented factions. Most spent their time mining, and scrapping. Artefacts, bounties, and cargo hauling were also common. But like most Alduu'uuranean, there was always more potential. Many saw this amongst the many different factions.

 

And so they banded together to form the Groukottox Clan. One of many different splinters coming together. Hundreds of years before the present, this fearsome Clan came from humble roots. Over the decades these simple miners were becoming increasingly wealthy. The combined Clan efforts proved a big boon to their small economy. As decades turn into centuries, more and more the Clan looked outward.

 

Supplying other more militaristic Clans, the Groukoxxot became increasingly involved in piracy. They grew and adapted with it, casting aside most of their menial mining roots. As time leads up to the present, the Clan has long since shed their roots. Now in their twin Lounge Ships they roam the stars, seeking prey and riche

Nation Name: Zyrka Republic

 

Race: (First come, first serve, refer to the list in the game mechanics) Zyrka.

 

Background: Originally the homeworld was divided among many nations of varying ideological views, all of which had gripes with one another. Something was bound to happen and eventually the powder keg was lit starting the Unification war. 

 

 At first it was a minor conflict, nothing to be worried of, but soon alliances formed pulling one nation after another into the conflict. Politicians and leaders pinning brother against brother and father against son for a hundred years. This went on until inevitably one side slipped and the other siezed the momentum which ultimately led to the founding of the Republic when all was said and done.

 

For 1200 years an indirect democracy has led the Zyrka to a peaceful and productive existance

 This tradition shall continue on as long as the Republic stands. Long live the Republic.

Background:

MUSIC

Through the endless, all accompassing, silent, void, the vessels drifted. Surrounded in darkness, occasionally an asteroid or some chunk of cosmic material would crash into the ships’ hull, splintering and exploding on the strength of the shields. Apart from the faint glow of the pulsing engines, The skyline of lights dotting the vessels, the light glow of seas of stars and nebulae, all was dark, all was quiet. Faulty navigation systems and mutiny had seen the Ar’gakari expedition thrown completely off course, communications non-existent, banished into the endless expanse of space.

 

Suddenly, the engines disengage, the fleet slowing rapidly, a huge blast echoing through the nothingness of space as the ships are yanked violently from lightspeed. Within the bridge of Kel’Vorak, the blast shields retract, Dak’Voljk gazes upon the infinite horizon, the sea of stars. A grueling journey, finished at long last. Transmissions flashed across the various consoles and panels as numerous other ships pulled out of light speed. Only but a fragment of a Grand Fleet had weathered the void, passed its infinite hardships, naught but the mighty have strewn their gaze upon their promised destination.

Nation Name: United Federation of Skellar Systems

Race: Skellar

Background: The United Federation of Skellar Systems came into being shortly after the fledgling race had attained space age capabilities. At the time, their homeworld was still divided between centuries-established nations - each of whom possessed their own economic and colonial interests beyond their homeworld. In the following years, a war would ravage the entirety of their system - leaving behind merely ashes and tears. The causes of the war today still remain up to debate; whether it was one faction’s trespassing, violations of established charters, mining rights… Regardless, in the aftermath amidst the ashes, the sons of the fallen, amidst all animosity cast out the old regimes and banded together - forming a new conglomerate for all Skellar to live free of wanton violence and political insecurity. This new state would serve to be the beacon of peace, prosperity, and progressivism - a fair and all-inclusive state now with the sole vision of sharing their ideals across the galaxy - with science and discovery at the forefront of the Federation’s agenda.
