42 – A new Era

((OOC Thread.

“For there are decisions to make, and every decision made creates a new timeline. A timeline that begins then and perishes at the end of all time.” – 42nd Guardian.

“A guardian is a being interconnected through all timelines, omnipresent and fully aware of the events in other timelines. With the chaos sowed by the dark guardian, others were able to stop it, others were not. In this aspect of my being, it never came to the climax that would tear and devour this home of ours. This time, it was on even terms for everyone, growing out of their infancy of their planets, no longer tied to their single homeworld, their cradle, but just beginning to set out onto the stars.” – “And then? What happens next?” – “Young one, what happens next is never certain, for it is all about making decisions and pursuing one very distinct string of time.”

The tale of Onwards has reached its culmination, with combined forces, the races of the 42nd galaxy were able to hold off and ultimately destroy the Drag’nix, but the losses were severe. A struggle that would not be mirrored every time in every timeline. In this one, there were no Pi’terroer, no Drag’nix, no dealings between guardians of different galactic clusters. Just, home. And home alone. A New Era, of exploration of first contacts, of meeting others.

It’s 2200 going by the calendar of Solaris. Fledging nations have taken their first steps into the great Ocean of Stars, have left behind conflict and terror in their own ranks (well, most of them), claimed new homes in order to pursue bigger things, to seek out their destiny in this galaxy.

Turn 1.

The Year 2201 begins.

puYmvMG.png

Many of the species have taken their first steps in the past decades. But, communication has become a serious issue for them, as separatist forces may establish themselves, especially if your central government is lightyears away. A few assume they are alone, but little do they know that neighbours are never far.

Ar’gakari Star Empire

Year 2201
___________________________________________

A fourth of a cycle, by the arbitrary Solarin system. For a fourth of a cycle- three months, Dak’Voljk’s invasion fleet had been suspended like constellations among the ocean of stars. Waiting for the remnants of an Armada which would never arrive. Lost to space- millions of soldiers, hundreds of ships, a fraction of a fraction of the vanguard remained.

The lesser commanders and ship masters clamored for a retreat, a withdrawal to the Homeworlds, anything to spare them from their supposedly doomed fate! With less than twenty ships and no communication arrays, how were they to conquer an entire galaxy? The cowards wished to abandon their righteous mission before it had even begun. In this arena, their weight was dangerous, furious debate threatened to splinter an already broken fleet. Only the wise oversight of the Oracle, Dak’Voljk, kept in check the treasonous plots of many.

They carried their protests and dissatisfaction with them into the vacuum..

But still, unknown to even him, there were many among the fleet who did not fully accept the Oracle’s judgement. What would become of such beings is not yet known. As of now, the fleet stands, united, ready to brave any threat this foreign galaxy may throw at them.

“Oracle.. the final remnants of the Armada have left light speed, no more vessels traverse the void. All have been lost. This is all that remains.”

“Begin to spool the drives...”

Financial Actions

-The last of the Vanguard escapes the perils of the void, an additional Heavy Cruiser and four wings of fighters (120) join the fleet. [Free]
-Additional loading bays are constructed aboard the Worldship Tek’Marak, allowing for a greater influx of supplies from the Homeworlds. [Business x3] [45,000]

Mod Actions
-The Ar’gakari invasion fleet begins to carve its way  south across the periphery of the galaxy, travelling across the very strings of the universe! A single exploration ship strays not far from the fleet, in the neighboring sectors, gathering information about anything of note such as ruins or rare material, reporting back periodically. The obvious goal being to locate some other form of intelligent life..

(T1 Ar’gakari String-drive)

Research

-The void is endless, its distances incredibly vast! Standard methods of communication are far from efficient. The brightest minds of the Worldfleet begin to toil vigorously work to repair the previously damaged Communication arrays aboard the Worldships. (Quantum Comms) [Passive Slot]

-It won’t be long until the Worldfleet encounters their first foes, greater weapons will be needed to cement Ar’gakari advantages, work begins at once on more advanced weapon technology. (T1 Plasma) [Passive Slot]

Empire of Sol
2201
“Ad Astra Per Aspera”

mUcHWzp.png

Earth was united under its Sovereign and his loyal followers, many old world religions had perished. One in particular fell and arose in a new form, believing that the Old One or ‘God’ as some still call had gifted Gaia herself to them. For she was the mother of them all, for it was not for her Humanity would not exist. Earth was the cradle that gave them life, and so in return for that life they were her sworn protectors. Solaris was where she rested and lived. Orbiting her mate and light giver, Sol.

This was a belief that a vast majority of the populace followed and believed in, despite the horrors that came from the void. Gaia was wounded, but not slain. Sol was hidden away and then arose again to bring light upon Humanity.

And this time, they would be prepared for whatever may come...

April 12th, 2200
Geneva, Imperial Conference Hall

A great many Lords from across Earth gather to discuss and come to a consensus on how to proceed. Mankind had taken a different route, one of many that could have happened. Events change the destinies of Billions, and this was no different. Hours of debate and argument took place before the final hour of the hearings.

Sovereign Viktor Savych Usenko stood at his seat in the Imperial Conference Hall as the others discussed how to proceed. Some argued that more defenses should be constructed before we ventured out into the void.

Others demanded that the shipyards be expanded and put to use. Lord Wilfred Windsor of Albion was a strong proponent in demands for a Navy, and many others backed his demands.

Defenses and Armies can only accomplish so much alone, if we ever hope to protect our world from another attack..We will need naval forces.” he barked “How else are we meant to protect our resources outside the system?

Lord Alfons Keppler of Germania seemed to second Lord Windsor’s opinion. “
Gaia cannot hope to alone support any expansion in resources without the means to defend them.

Others in the hall murmured and agreed. A short series of strikes from a gavel quickly brought attention forward, The Head Speaker awaited everyone to quiet themselves “
Sovereign Usenko will now speak.” All attention fell upon their Sovereign, the son of Vadym Usenko the First Sovereign and High General of the Gaian Armies during the War of the Long Night.

The Empire doesn’t have the capacity for a total overhaul for such a naval expansion as you so suggest Lord Windsor. However, I agree that remaining idle will only bring risk upon Gaia and the civilization we’ve been able to rebuild. I will allow the beginnings of a navy while we focus on being able to afford such efforts, our territories should be more than enough to provide what we need.” He nodded his head to the Speaker.

This Council will be adjourned for recess.

Tjieran Unitary State

Image result for Sci-Fi Flag

[Setting the stage.]

The Tjieran Unitary state having been formed in 2087 after a brief succession war began the greatest period of growth for the Tjieran people. Fusion technology became a hot area of research to increase speeds and power exponentially bringing down the cost of living and improving the day-to-day mundanity of it. Discovering how to build and use the warp in 2125 led to a dramatic increase of space travel too, ships being able to cross the vast distances of space much quicker. Alongside this period of time, millions of souls eagerly set off to colonize Belsoc and Alisk adding two new worlds to the unitary state.

During this unprecedented time of growth, the unitary struggled to find the perfect system with coups and readjustments to deal with the additions of planets the system of the Tjack was formally created in 2120. The Tjack family line, having been prominent in the politics of the state since 2005 had accumulated enough political power to thrust their family line into the head of government. Ellison Tjack became the ‘Tjack’ which stands for the ‘United Voice’ of the nation beginning the rule of their line. Each child would be groomed specifically to rule with the help of a council filled with the governors of each planet.

Tjiera would remain the capital planet of the unitary state having the majority of the population based on it, Tjack becoming the secondary planet in the nation in the event of catastrophe. Each planet however would be granted a great deal of freedom with how it based its laws due to the distance and circumstances each planet would need to deal with. They however had to follow the formalized set in place by the Tjack to allow at least some form of order in space.

The Year 2200 saw the construction of thousands of industrial buildings all over Tjiera as a form of job creation, a growing nation would need hundreds of materials to properly construct industry, spaceships, and homes. In a time of great distance too, an exploration vessel is created to prepare for future endeavours into the void of space in order to find others. Scientists also begin to play with the idea of instantaneous interstellar communication to ease the pain of the distance between planets, sure a courier ship could make it under a few weeks but if something was urgent…

Population: 20,000,000,000,000 Tjierans

Economic Expenditure: 88,250 C, 2 M, 1 F

(75,000 C) 5 Industrial plants are built on the capital. (5+ M)

(First turn Colonization included already.)

(3,500 C, 1 M) A single exploration vessel is built

Research Expenditure: 3 Free Slots

[Slot 1] The Tjieran’s in great need of faster communication between their planets and ships begin researching a way to instantaneously send data and messages from point A to point B. [Interstellar Communications]

[Slot 2] A need for speed was on the mind of Tjack’s scientist and the process of constructing a much faster warp drive begins. [T2 Warp.]

[Slot 3] Significantly strong strides in metallurgy in recent years has helped propel the Tjierans into space but however their materials could be produced at faster rates. [Streamlining Industry]

Current Chancellor: Tarc Avall

Brief overview for the future

The Zyrka since the dawn of the Republic have been progressive, peaceful, and prosperous leaving behind the primitive ways they were once so used to. For centuries the guiding hand of the Government has led the Zyrka to the stars and beyond. With the recent election bringing in Tarc Avall and his administration, hopes are high for the progression of the economy, technology, and perhaps even the military.  A policy of aggressive economic expansion has been put into immediate effect. This is only the first phase of the administration’s plan to bring a new age to the Zyrka people. Failure is not an option, and it will be treated as such. At least that’s what they’ve proclaimed, so in reality the end could come relatively quick.

THE KALRONIAN ASCENDENCY

The slow steady plop of droplets striking the surface of a small pool echoed down the expansive, empty corridors. Black stone greeted the eye wherever one turned, polished to a high shine. The water clock stood alone, in the center of a large, circular area that served as the focus of four long, wide corridors. Steady white light shone from the roof, creating a rather unpleasant contrast upon the black environment. The water clock continued to tick, as far off footsteps slowly became louder, rising steadily in volume until a party of four turned the corner in the far distance, striding along the corridor towards the crossroads. Of the party, two were dressed in the ceremonial armour of soldiers and two wore the traditional robes of Kalronian Regents, who ruled the Ascendency in the absence of the Ascendant. Louder the voice of the leading soldier rose, until it could be heard at the far end of the corridor opposite.

“Such action is blasphemous – you profane our people and our religion so, Regent?” cried Crell, highest of the Commanders “I will not stand for such heresy!” With heavy, angry footsteps, Crell stormed across the far corridor, disappearing quickly out of sight. The other soldier, surprised, hastily bade his farewell to the Regents before hurrying off after the enraged Commander. The taller of the Regents, Caolin, turned to his fellow, who stared after Crell and his companion with an irritated expression. “Mark me, Caolin, we will come to regret speaking of this to that fool.” Caolin looked steadily at him, before nodding and beginning to walk away. “I shall leave it to you, Arlus.”

Caolin disappeared down another of the corridors, while Arlus slowly stepped to the edge of the water clock, staring up at the masterpiece that had dominated the center of Kalronian governance for generations. Arlus glanced to his left as a tiny, wizened creature approached him. “Silence him.” he declared simply, before striding back the way he had come. The wizened old man bowed low as his master departed. “As the Regent commands.” he whispered.

Groukoxxot Clan

The sprawling fleet of the Clan has clustered together in this lonely sector. For decades they had travelled the vast expanse of space. And all they have found was what was expected. More empty sectors, more asteroid belts and moods orbiting lifeless rocks. The only thing of note was the intense variety of stars. One could spend a lifetime trying to map them all out. Many of the Clan took to etching the various stars they have visited onto their scales. This sector was quite like any other, but not for it’s inhabitants. After such a long journey, council had been called on The Agorso.

The Oasis Ships and Fleet of the Groukoxxot was a fearsome sight to behold. Amassed in one sector, they seemed to dominate it’s expanse. The Oasis Ships were of a truly massive scale. Cylindrical in shape, with rotating links to create some level of gravity. They held millions of Alduu’uuranean each, all small parts of this massive organism. Each Oasis Ship was a power in it’s own right, with a Owner at it’s helm. The three prime factions of the Groukoxxot held an Oasis ship in their clutches. Jealously and greed was high between the three. And with such a long lapse in raiding, this was especially so. The reason they were all gathering  is to make a choice for the Clan’s future.

zvezdy-planeta-tumannost-stars-art-plane

The Agorso is the largest and most populated Oasis Ship within the Clan. It’s owner, Star Lord Kuuhisk Ukzakoaz was the current leader of the Groukoxxot. The title of Star Lord got tossed between the three Oasis Ship Captains, depending on who at the time held the most influence. Sometimes a daring raid, or internal fight was all the spark required to change power. But with the long lull in reaving, Kuuhisk had held power for over a decade. Some had settled into his prolonged rule. Others vehemently protested it, wishing to go out on their own. Regardless of opinion, they all came to speak their bit.

Within the thousands of corridors, lay the center of The Agorso’s power. A massive, and beautiful agriculture hive. Here was not the simple production of staple food for the processors. Here all the coveted luxury crops, fruits, and animals were cultivated. Many different plants here were worth more then some of the smaller reaver ships. And it was here dozens of Alduu’uuranenan streamed in to meet. They thumped down the corridors, in packs. Most were armored in a various motley of pieces. There was no uniform or true outfits they stuck too. Most took to having their own taste, and budget. What all Alduu’uuranean had in common was simple; a massive armament. Many carry as many as three pistols in a brace, alongside their preferred melee weapon, and a rifle. All had a shared love in the culture of firearm production and use. And so hordes of heavily armed pirates convene in a field of luxury crops to hold a council.

5bf4cdb3c0d71.image.jpg?resize=1200,794

Star Lord Kuuhisk Ukzakoaz appraised the Alduu’uuranean pouring in perched from his throne. A simple enough throne, bedecked in lapis lazuli, gold, gems, diamonds, and other humble ores. Very faded skins provided comfort for the Star Lord. The skins though old were still easy to identify for all. It was the remnants of Kuuhisk’s first kill. Among the first to enter as always was Coryphaus Yauk Groxxollix. A massive example of his race, one of the biggest in the Clan. Yauk was the leader of the infamous Thurnuxl Reavers, always leading them form the front. His Oasis Ship was a sight to behold, housing a massive Shipyard. From him came most of the ships and warriors for the reaving fleets. And it was him that was most angry with the decade long span between raids. Arriving later was the infamous Captain of the last Oasis Ship. She was not one to cross, and had for a long time held power in an iron grip. Having served as Star Lord before, Chathriyi was a popular leader within the Clan.

With all the prime Captains and their retinue assembled, Kuuhisk leaps to his feet. Raising his hands for silence, the crowd of raucous pirates simmers down. Eventually a silence is reached, as they all expectantly look to their Star Lord. “This is not the first time we have convened here in anger recently” he begins, to which many hisses confirm the truth of his statement. “But perhaps this can be the last.” Kuuhisk as he says this appraises the Captains, and their subordinates. “We have drifted for decades, but it will not last forever. Some of you may claim we should split up, to cover the stars. But as I have said before, we would lose each-other in the void.” He raises a finger, pointing to the man standing by hi throne. “We have possibly discovered a way to finally communicate across the Stars. One that is reliable, and fast” At this excited chatter fills the fields. Finally quiet is again reached. “We shall gather our strength here, and devise a way to coordinate at great distance.”

Coryphaus Yauk shouts, cutting through the renewed excited talking. “And when will we be doing this promised reaving?” . The Star Lord locks eyes with his general, squinting. “Soon”

The Skellar arose from the unassuming planet of Skell’ig Prime, among few terrestrial bodies lying within Skell’ig’s inner belt. A large ocean planet orbited by two moons, and circumnavigated by several rings. Curiosity thrust the Skellar to leave their moist rock, taking first to their planet’s satellites, and then beyond. They found themselves to be masters of creating ships to explore the stars - and soon, a massive initiative was launched - Skellar settling nearly all corners of their solar system. However, where they once found unity and camaraderie in a shared passion and interest - they also uncovered the worst that their people had to offer.

Corporate greed and ruthless efforts at resource extraction back home left outlying colonies ostracized. These frustrations would culminate in a two-year long conflict in which many planets and settlements of the system would be destroyed and populations scattered. In the aftermath, the survivors were left to pick up the ashes. Realizing the folly of their elders as the reason for this pointless bloodshed, they cast down the old regimes and declared a new federation - one in which every Skellar would be treated equal, part of something greater. Given new purpose, the Skellar set out to expand economic opportunity and bring civilization to new worlds and left their home system.

By all means a fledgling ‘empire’, the Skellar seek to promote their ideals of peace, prosperity, and progress across the stars. Now, a Colony Ship departs from the Skell’ig Prime’s lesser moon, packed with countless optimistic and hopeful Skellar settlers to truly establish an extrasolar homeworld.

National Activity:

Álympos, the homeworld of what would become the Ymorian peoples was little more than a moon dominated by the extremes of nature; mountainous terrains as if shaped specifically for the purpose of repelling settlers from landing on its surface, or oceans that often overflowed from their beaches as a result of the gravitational tides of the local Gas Giant, Mármaro. Yet, despite the odds of near total extinction that would bring many species to keel such as several mass extinctions from the near total destruction of entire ecosystems from rapid tectonic activity, the Ymorians persevered.

The early ancestors of the Ymorians were theorized to have been evolved from sea-dwelling, squid-like invertebrates that had grown to become amphibious and utilized the rapid shifting tides to feed upon the natural minerals of the mountainous terrains. Through their years of adoption to living on land, the Ymorian’s ascestors found their homes not on the grounds, yet atop the peaks where the oceans tides could not reach them and where these minerals had become most abundant. It was here that the first ancestors of the modern Ymorians, the Ap’Oikos (meaning “First of his kin” in Ymorian), made their homestead. Many believe this is where the foundations of their innate curiosity came from. Whether it was the scaling of mountains for further food sources or the exploration of caves just below the water’s surface, it soon became a way of life for the Ap’Oikos to venture further, higher, and deeper in order to survive as their population grew.

As hundreds of thousands of years passed, evolution ran its course as it did for billions of species across the galaxy. Sub-species began to sprout, the most dominant quickly becoming the vertebrate-gifted Xader’Fia (meaning “Cousin” in Ymorian) who prayed on the far weaker, non-vertebrate, subspecies of Ap’Oikos. It was only a matter of time until they were driven from their natural habitat high on the mountains and eventually to complete extinction (the most common preparation of the hauls of these hunts was to coat the Ap’Oikos in grain and fry them in natural, super-heated oil deposits). It was these Xader’Fia that lead the way for what eventually became the Ymorians, distinctively becoming stronger, smarter, and more attuned to the way of living on land than their predecessors. The use of tools, relative thinking, and finally a set of fully developed limbs was the next leg of the Xader’Fia’s evolutionary track onto becoming the modern Ymorians.

The very foundations of society for the Ymorians began here; the step from Xader’Fia to Ymorian. Taking from their ancestors, the Ap’Oikos, a trial was conducted of all Ymorians in their efforts to become a member of society. Atop the highest peaks grew a precious mineral caused by a mixture of the high pressures, extreme temperatures, and unique climate of the planet. It was a  token, not only a display of the physical necessities to reach the summit, but the strive to go further than they had gone before whilst remaining as a reminder of where they had come from as a species, and a desire to know where they will go next.

As the modern Ymorians came to existence, they soon expanded their reach not only into, but above the mountains they had called home for hundreds of millenia. A population explosion following countless breakthroughs in medicinal, engineering, and other fields of research brought their world of Álympos to near-critical mass. The natural explorers sought more from not only their world, yet others around them. Roudimetrary space-faring vessels began routine trips around Mármaro, returning with hefty bounties of minerals from asteroid belts and the giant itself, as well as more often than not, with far less crew than they had set out with. Yet the explorative Ymorians were not satisfied with landing on mere moons or asteroids and had their sights set for the glinting stars light years away. These desires were soon satisfied as along came the greatest of any of their discoveries; Faster-Than-Light travel.

From that point on, their world and the galaxy it was in became little more than their personal playground as the Ymorians took to the stars in search of new lands, minerals, and, inevitably, civilizations.

[PASSIVE SLOT 1] Ion Tier 2 - The electronic blasts of the current ion weapons is deemed unfit for anti-capital ship weaponry. Despite being able to take down a Ymorian deflector shield in only a few hits, the damage to the hull and internal systems is simply not effective enough. Ways to remedy this are conceptualized. [1 Turn Invested]

[PASSIVE SLOT 2] Lasers Tier 2 - Focusing high-energy beams seems ficile enough to create a laser, but procuring a way to more efficiently focus these beams without losing energy on transfer from the batteries could lead to exponentially more powerful weaponry. [1 Turn Invested]

[PASSIVE SLOT 3] Hull Tier 2 - Literally just make it better. More bolts, more supports, better materials. Not that hard. [1 Turn Invested]

[Forcefields T1] The work of deflectors are but a past concept to the Ymorians. It is time for something new! The strength of these deflectors are not enough, yet their usefulness as a whole is not yet discovered. Concepts for a new rigid, and much stronger version of deflectors are looked into. The Republic of Galaron

Date: 611 AR (2201 AD)

The Alien's guide to Galaron:

In a community effort to teach the people of Galaron (and theoratically beyond) the Modurati Harun, Lomas and Ulinar have set up a guide which will tell anyone reading the intricacies of  everything in the Republic. With it being called an 'Alien's guide’ since it assumes that someone reading this has no prior knowledge of our society whatsoever. Though honestly it is more meant as a side-project. Anyways, I hope you learn something from browsing the forum. Furthermore, the entries are not categorized into any specific order.

Government:

The Republic of Galaron can be described as a layered-cake of sort. Though a tree might also be a good analogy. This means that it has many intermediary organizations which each have a varying amount of independence and responsibility. First we shall start with the most well-known and official organization, the Grand Assembly.

Grand Assembly:

The Grand Assembly is the highest governmental body in the republic of Galaron.
The Grand Assembly consists of a total of 480 delegates. The Grand Assembly is tasked with the foreign policy of the Republic (which is mainly tasked with diplomacy between the various system), managing the military budget, colonization efforts, deciding the budget of the various governmental institutions and legislating the Codex Maelis. The set of guidelines and rules that every other governmental body and citizen of the Republic must follow.

The aforementioned delegates are selected by either directly being voted in or more commonly by being part of a Argumenti's candidates. Argumenti's are organizations that share political and ideological goals, they vote together to help project their philosophy into the action of the Assembly. Generally speaking most votes go to the leader of the Argumenti. This leader, if he/she gets enough votes, then 'sends’ the votes to the second highest party candidate. Who, if he/she has the required votes, becomes a member of the Assembly. This is then repeated until the Argumenti doesn't have enough votes left to get new candidates in the Assembly. Once this voting is finished the leader of the party with the most votes becomes the Grushdal. The head-of-state. The leader of the second biggest party becomes the Mirudam.
In order to enact laws and policies the Grushdal often forms a 'ruling coalition’ which consists of several parties working together in order to effectively govern. The Mirudam, if he is not an ally of the Grushdal, then becomes the leader of the opposition. The opposition is a group that includes everyone not included in the ruling coalition and serves to moderate the actions of the ruling coalition.
If the Mirudam is an ally of the Grushdal then the opposition agrees to select a Jucalin to be their figurehead.

Actions

Mod actions:

-The outer edges (TC's) of the republic have not been truly explored yet. There is much that can still be found.

As such the exploration ship 'Bright Future’ is to explore the TC's of the republic (starting with the southern edge) and explore it for as of yet undiscovered minerals and resources.

For example new sources of uranium in the future.

Research actions:

Passive research:

- Quantum comms

With light secessionist sentiments rising it is of increasing importance that an effective long-scale communication technique is found. Already having had basic and planetside experimentation the principle of quantum communications is easy to explain. An object, in this case a message, is sent and where normally it would go one straight line from one point to another with quantum communications it 'skips’ the inbetween area and goes directly to the intended location.

-T2 Armor (steel titanium)

In order to make the vessels of the repbulic more reliable research is done on finding a right composition for a titanium-steel armor. As well as finding out how to succesfully integrate it into the ships of the republic.

-T1 forcefields

For long assigned to the realm of fantasy, forcefields have after the recent discovery of deflectors been made a viable option. As such researchers are beginning to do research into designing a viable forcefield that can be used on the ships of the Republic.

Financial actions:

On the capital planet of Galaron new economic revitalization is done. Specifically replacing old and derelict industry on the continent of Vilmoris with new financial and shopping districts.

(15k C, building business in Galaron)

On the other Core-Sector of the Republic, Barun. Having beeb a relatively new, and the first colony, the focus had mainly been in setting up the neccesary infastructure for supporting large-scale populations. However now large scale urban planning is being put into action which will increase the profit from Barun.

(45k C, building three business on Barun)

1,75k C is kept in the treasury

The Unified Systems of the Da’nor.

The weather across Sal’athil was a beautiful, warm weather day. That not many ever wanted to end, perfect for the events of the First Senate meeting in over five years since the addition of Raydon into the Unified Systems. People were excited for what the future held, or what topics were to be covered. Not many knew what the senate had decided earlier. With the construction of a new colonial ship, they were looking for volunteers. The venture past the territorial claims and established a new frontier.

The groups of senators walked with slow but confident strides, basking in the glory they got from their peers. They were escorted by men and women, clad in either all black or all white attire. The soldiers were anonymous, not a single piece of skin showing. Their faces are covered by helmets. They all carried a ceremonial blade sheathed in a gold trimmed leather sheath. With kinetic assault rifles slung over their right shoulders. They marched in unison with one another, the citizens watching were in awe, this was a rare sight to see Ra’Kin’s Chosen in the streets.

Statistics:

Population: 20,000,000,000

Colonial Sectors: 3

Territorial claims: 17

Income: 75,000 Credits

T2 Ship Armor

T1 Deflectors

T1 Single Phased Shields

T2 Fission Reactor

Light Cruiser Hulls

Mod Actions:

The first exploration vessel was commissioned and fueled for launch, along with private sector ships scouting the outer rims of the territory. (9,000 Credits, 1 Exploration vessel. MOD)

The colonial ship sets forth, approaching the western edges of the Da’nor territories. (MOD will include map in discord!)

A new psionic search was conducted. The men of Ra’Kin’a Temple set out to fit young new initiates to join the ranks of the elite group. (MOD)

Economic Actions:

Four new industrial zones are commissioned for construction on Raydon. (60,000 C)

One new destroyer is constructed. (2 M, 6,000 Credits)

Research Actions:

Passive one:

The lack of intergalactic communications between the colonials was worrisome. It gave to much autonomy and grew deistent in the outer territories. The senate passed the GQC Bill, funding and subsidizing companies who looked into solving the issue. (Quantum Communications research)

Passive Two:

Plasma weaponry was a big boon for the space fleets armaments, the military started to research Plasma weapons for the infantry of the Systems. (T1 Land Unit Plasma Weapons.) (25% bonus due to plasma space weapons.)

Passive 3:

Speed would be king in space, out maneuvering the enemies of the Systems was a massive deal. (T2 Fission Engines)

Turn 2

Year 2202

It’s quiet out there.

---

Ar’gakari Star Empire

The rather cumbersome fleet proceeds on its course South, however little of note comes across their path in the four sectors traversed. The exploration vessel returns as well, having found one or the other habitable fertile world, but otherwise nothing of note. It’s eeriely quiet in this new galaxy, foreign to the Ar’gakari, except for their long range observation from home.

The scientists in their ship labs are working steadily on getting a functional Quantum Communication device up and running for the individual ships, to allow for more autonomy and quicker communication, so they do not need to be in the same system at all times. They estimate it to take at most four years.

Similarly, the weaponization of the fleet is considered lackluster, and the decision is called to investigate plasma mechanics in more detail, to allow its weaponized use. The scientists expect it to take ten years.

Empire of Sol

The decision to investigate the possibility for near-instant or instant communication over vast distances has always been a goal for the scientists of Earth. Give it four years and they might come with a first viable prototype of a device, in a first test between Mars and Gaia.

Whilst Fusion Energy is not new in principle, the undue invasion and War for Earth forced mankind to continue to rely on the good old fission based nuclear power. Fusion, might solve a lot of the issues fission has however and might be just more reliable in the long run, as gaseous fuel is aplenty in many systems. Six years, picking up where they left off.

Given the rich reward, many private prospectors are doing their part with small satellites to survey. Many return with metals common and abundant. Except for one. On an excavation trip, the rusty mining vessel found a highly resilient black ore on Ceres, which has a density beyond the known elements, stable and showing no signs of radioactive decay. Curious, might be worth to investigate.

The State

Given the vast amount of space to be explored, the crew on the ship is overtasked and only sloppily manage to study the systems whilst flying by. Planets. Gas Giants. They catalogue it all, but with very little detail to what they may hold. A few habitable worlds show up too, but that’s about it.

And the exploration ship runs into the issue of being unable to report back whilst en route. A year later and they return with the lackluster result. A faster method of communication, possibly an instant one over such distances needs to be figured out. And the Saryn are steady at it now. Three years.

Based on deflector research the scientists pursue the generation of fluidic energy fields that act as a protective barrier against projectiles and energy discharges approaching their own ships. Ten years.

The advancement of the Disruptor weaponry is urgent. There is little to say, perhaps the Replicants return, and the Saryn want to be prepared. Eight years.

Tjieran Unitary State

Space is vast and communication is slow. Something a highly stratified society can not afford, in order to maintain cohesion and stability on its worlds. As such it is imperative that a method of instant communication over light years is found. So they proceed the development of what one would call Quantum Communications. The scientists estimate four to five years.

Along with communication, travel speeds need to be reduced to allow for quicker acting in times of need. The scientists state that the Warp Drives may be improved in the coming ten years.

Factories, refineries and mining facilities (in this case), albeit already very modern, always have room for optimization. As such the scientists begin to explore from ground up, methods, improvements, what has been missed in the past. They will return with a report in five years.

Zyrka Republic

The overall ship improvements regarding hull and armor both will take eight years as per estimate. Fortunately the two fields are somewhat related, so the scientists are optimistic that they may share knowledge regarding that.

Instant communication for future expansion becomes an essential tool for stability and progress. The scientists also propose that this new type of Quantum Communications should be used in order to allow the exchange of knowledge between research stations and planets to be sped up. They expect it to be done in four years.

The accuracy of the olden day sensors has been lackluster in the past. For more accuracy on short range and possiblity to conduct more diverse and deeper scans, the scientists begin in earnest to improve the existing systems. Seven years, they claim.

The focused beam of light has come a long way. From a children’s prank toy, to industrial mining lasers, to ship weaponry. As such, the Zyrka always continue to focus on improving it. Ten years, the scientists proclaim.

All the while the homeworld is busy drowning itself in research, others are venturing forth to find a new world to call their own, a new addition to the Republic. And indeed, they find a mountaineous, but temperate world, ideal for their people to grow and prosper.

THE KALRONIAN ASCENDENCY

Laws are to be adhered to. Order must be kept. Rule must be enforced. As such, no time must be lost in this. The solution is a method of instant communication. The Kalronian Chief scientists begin the work on the so-called Quantum Communications Device. Four years.

The Heavy Cruiser Hulls at this stage in time have already proved to be a feat of engineering, but going bigger might prove a tough task. And a long one. Twenty-five years is the consensus of the engineers, scientists and military leadership.

Groukoxxot Clan

The sector shows nothing in particular, aside from a few asteroid fields that are rich in essential metals. (+5 M).

Whilst they are a wandering herd, the space they traverse is often so vast, that one end may be unable to contact the other effectively. As such, they require communication methods that are instant and disregard distances where possible. Quantum Communications should be ready in five years.

More punch to the guns. All Alduu’uuraneans agree that there is never enough power and recoil in the guns, no matter what size. Nine years.

UNITED FEDERATION OF SKELLAR SYSTEMS

The severe upsizing of ship hulls is a difficult task to pursue, but the Skellar Forgemasters begin regardless. They expect the designs and structural studies to be finished for an actual construction in thirty-five years.

Whilst the colony ship sails away, its last lightspeed communications trickling in as it disappears from the sensors, the scientists back home begin in earnest their studies regarding a solution for Long Range Communication. A theoretical field concerning Quantum Mechanics prove interesting, and the teams are certain, they could utilize such a “quantum plane” to facilitate instantenous communication. In three years.

The Ymorian Collective

Little is left to be said, what wasn’t said before. In full agreement, the teams of researchers and engineers proceed with their work. The Ion Weapon upgrades ought to take roughly seven years at the current rate, the focused light beams aka lasers, are due in nine years.

Structural integrity is a complex subject, but an essential one. Whilst armor takes the hits, the shockwaves travel through the ship and may cause damages inside, risking life and property of the collective. The work begins and the time is set at eight years.

A hardened field of static energy, like a super solid “artificial” material to surround their ships and give an additional layer of protection. A genuine idea. The scientists estimate it to take ten years.

The Republic of Galaron

Whilst Uranium becomes as common as stars in a galaxy, a new crystal with insane levels of innate energy makes a big bleep on the simple sensors of the exploration vessel. The world seems seismically active, but hosts thousands of kilometers covered in them, deep cavern and caves holding more. These pink crystals might just be something that will push the Republic of Galaron into a new era!

Instant communication between the colonies is of utmost importance. News, breakthroughs and society must be shared and interconnected. A new type of Quantum Communications is to serve this. Three years, the scientists proudly proclaim, and they can crack the code.

Nothing to particular, but upgrading the armor on the ships. Give it seven years.

Turning a deflector field into a focused and bundled hard surface, made entirely from “inert” energy is a tough task, but the scientists continue down this path. It will be a new technology as a whole for the Republic, but it may revolutionize ship protection immensely. Eleven years.

Quantum Scan engaged... background radiation... 98%... artificial signals... 2%... analyzing... secondary analysis considers signals irrelevant, patterns similar to artificial origin, however evidence indicates natural causes... no signals found...

The Unified Systems of the Da’nor

Many worlds are scanned and almost devoured by the primitive sensors, and although they discover new lifeforms, new geological features and much more insightful evidence of the complexity of existence, nothing peaks the curiosity of the leadership as the one Da’nor who returned from a planetary survey and simply hospitalized three of his fellow crewmembers alone, before being apprehended. Fortunately nobody died, and the individual in question came to his senses soon after, muttering apology after apology. What is curious is that he has no idea what happened, only that he saw red. His colleagues all state that the Da’nor in rage, usually a composed and kind man, has shown strength that was beyond what they would have expected from his rather lean build. Curious.

And the news networks are fascinated and supportive. In order to send their fake news even further beyond into the void, to the other worlds. The scientists are amused and give it four years.

Downsizing was important. The old rifles and guns need to be replaced, and as Plasma weaponry has already taken its place on the spaceships, the soldiers down on the ground are to follow. The scientists expect it to take about six years, before the first rifles and pistols can be fabricated reliably.

Fission is not quiet or sneaky, but it is fast. And why not make the current technology efficient and more reliable? Give it eight years, and the nuclear booms at the back of the ships gets even better.

UNITED FEDERATION OF SKELLAR SYSTEMS

Space 10, Tech 5, Eco 10

Population 10,100,000,000

“Lord, we’re being hailed by the colonists of Tevar Vitundi.” uttered one of the comms officers ‘pon the bridge of the Skellar flagship.

“Patch them in. I am eager to hear of their progress.” came a second voice, methodical in speech, deep yet weary. Shipmaster Qetre’vadar sat tall amidst the crucial C&C station of his vessel, his throne elevated above his subordinates not only as a reminder of status but to provide a commanding view of the periphery of the ship. An aged man, long tentacles protruded downwards from his stupendously calcified, chitinous faceplate. His cybernetic four eyes kept tabs on all individuals going to and from the bridge, every transmission sent, order relayed, or message typed. Perhaps it was slightly intimidating having your superior know what you were up to at all times, compounded by the multiple holo-screens which surrounded his post.

With a swipe of his finger, he dismissed the screens, descending from his captain’s chair, bounding for the holo-table. As he approached, the table flickered to life, projecting a digitalized and life-size blue image of a Skellar female before him. “Doctor.” he said, voice resonating from within the chitin.

“Shipmaster ‘Vadar.” the woman bowed deeply.

“What news do you bring?”

“The colony goes well, Lord ‘Vadar. Initial terraforming projects have proved successful, and we’ve largely replicated the atmospheric composition of Skell’ig Prime. We’ve also introduced several plant species to the planet all of which proved tolerant of the slightly acidic soil. We’ll now focus efforts on extracting any  resources if the planet bears any.” she said, flipping a page in her clipboard. Though before she could continue, she Shipmaster interjected.

“Very good, doctor. As soon as we can re-establish comm-links with Skell’ig - I’m sure they’ll be ecstatic with our progress here. I see many honorifics and awards coming your way. Do resume your excellent work.” With a resigned sigh, the Shipmaster turned, “That will be all, doctor.” as the transmission flickered silent.

Turning to an ops officer, ‘Vadar looked stern, and dismissive as he was affirmative said, “Eyes and ears on Doctor Qira’lilaar, if you would. I don’t trust these science types. Daily reports, please.” he ordered, tentacles resonating in a low pitch.

”Right away, Lord, I’ll put my two best men on the next shuttle planetside.”
