Crimson Order of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen

Across the Order industry has finally begun to take shape. Almost a complete agrarian state, the massive Free Companies were always in need of funds and provision. For years now it was becoming far more apparent they were growing too big for their boundaries. The Lord Captain and his council were and more and more convinced in one thing. Lebenstraum. They had a drastic need to expand their borders, their people, and their culture. The World was a deadly place, and they are but one fledgeling nation. And so a new keep is planned on. Soldiers are picked, and sent. The control of the Order will grow.....

The Black Guard earns a massive spike to their reputation this year. For a while now every Free Company had sought a foreign contract. The true way to gain repute, gold, and skill. And though a last minute cancellation ended hopes, they were renewed. Though the straights were blocked, far closer buyers seemed to be in need. And as such one thousand Black Guard Free Company Soldiers march south to the Mitrovic Empire. In good order, they parade down the roads with bands setting the pace. They will arrive in the Empire and clearly look like what they are. Professional killers.

Besides sending troops abroad, and to claim land, the Order is dull. This year only marks the beginning of a fresh start. One of massive industry, legions of Veterans, and a racial mandate extending for leagues upon leagues......

The Grand Principality of Rostukhov

478px-Seal_of_Ivan_4_1539_a.svg.png

“And would a few new sets of pearls not do her justice, my dear? A few white furs, a shawl of velvet?” The winter of 866 passed as slowly as the grass grew, and nowhere could that droll tide be felt better than the Rostukhovic court. No real issues of note; no real changes. The Yithic Moss of recent discovery, while quite potent, was still moss, and the nobility could not be expected to wear glowing fungus. No, nothing was different in the winter of 866, save for gossip of wars to the East, of Aeton’s apparent rage, and of ill tides to the west of Wyom. The only, and very poor, respite Adrik II would have from his boredom would be spending money on clothing for his wife’s courtiers.

Town Crier

Vladimir Vasilyevich travels to Wyom, where he seeks new competition among the duelists there!

A Commercial District is built in Rostukhov, and two more Dvoryane Farm-territories created.

Two Heavy Manufacturing sites go up in Novohesk.

Yithic Moss, as it is coined very originally by the Rostukhovic researchers, can have many shocking implications!!! They search for a means to mass produce it and the clothing that is made from it, so as to be able to give hundreds, or perhaps even thousands, of soldiers undershirts and skull caps of the stuff!

Also to do with the new super-moss, Rostukhovic researchers seek a way to make it fire resistant! You know, because it’s...moss.

“My arse is killing me.” groaned Sigismund.

“-My Lord?”

“Oh.” the King glanced about, caught unawares, taking a moment to gather his surroundings. After his tour of the countryside, he had just now returned home - to Barowitz - after several weeks of riding. He and his noble entourage now rode atop their horses, trotting back to the Royal Stables - all the while subject to horrific chafing and a general sensation of soreness. “Mhm yes, it’s the horses I tell you.”

“Oh, is that so?” a retainer parallel to him chortled - a childhood friend of his, Sir Adrian Koguciuck.

“The horses in the back.” chimed in another rider - Lord Andre Dimarczyk - with a slight smirk, slightly less amused, though pitching in nonetheless

“Alright, enough of that.” King Sigismund scoffed, straightening his posture as he took firm hold of the reins. “We all know the only pain in my arse is my wife.”

Sir Adrian chuckled, eyes set dead ahead, swaying ever so slightly as they continued down their path.

“Oh, is that funny to you?” remarked Sigismund, expression turned cold as stone.

“‘Course not, liege. Let’s hope Her Majesty didn’t miss you too much.”

“Hmph.” said Sigismund as he dismounted his horse, his entourage following suit, now at the foot of the Royal Palace, “Well, let’s not keep her waiting.” She leapt onto the ground with a relieved sigh, happy to feel the earth beneath his feet.

“Good to be back, ‘innit.” said Lord Dimarczyk, clambering down with a dull thud.

“You can say that again-”

“Your Majesty. Your MAJESTY-.” a voice interjected, scrambling down the steps of the palace in front of them and nearly tripping on his feet and words alike. A young messenger presented himself before the King, “The Queen is holding court and requests your presence immediately.”

He sighed, “Gods be damned, back into the swing of things.”

With his ever punch-able face, Sir Adrian remarked, “If not you, Lord, then who?”

THE KINGDOM OF ARDES

His Royal Majesty, Konrad III of House Karovid

[Leadership: 8 | Charisma: 4 | Martial: 1]

Year 866 of the 14th Age

The Royal University of Pravid is abuzz with motion, with the recent discoverings near Fortress Neuhof, where the Bay of Arles opens to the Wine Sea. So strange, their discoveries, that not even a single man was capable of deciphering the purpose. Heraldry never seen before, creatures that could be vaguely compared to humanoids, wrecked ships larger than ever seen before. Unfortunately, due to how anomalous their findings were, not a single shred of information relating to their new artifacts could be correlated. It wouldn’t stop the naturally inquisitive Ardesians however.

ACTIONS

Income: 65,000

Constructing the last available Trade Depot in the Capital of Ardes, Pravid. [10,000]

With such a vast influx of new trade now stimulating the Ardesian Economy, Merchantry Guilds throughout the Kingdom begin the establishment of Commerce Centers, from which much of the wealth is managed accordingly, continuing the economic cycle. Four Commercial Districts are set for construction within the Cities of Pravid, Lazly, Waldorf, and Krnov. [40,000]

Upon the bountiful and arable territories of the Piezian Dukedom, more land is cleared and prepared for crops. Resulting in the founding of a new hamlet for agriculture management. [5000]

Having struck iron within the base of the Jennik Mountains, two mines are scheduled to be ready for operation by the turn of next year. Fueling the growing industry of Ardes. [10,000]

And with the arrival of the Pachiqui delegates, the Ardesian Court is stirred into activity, many clamoring to lay their eyes upon the bizarre foreigners. The King, usually impartial, brings forth the Chimuqueran  diplomats, offering them the kind of pleasantries anyone else would receive. They are seated, and once again asked the purpose of their visit.

The Choranic Empire

latest?cb=20160610191723

The Choranic Empire was not a particularly ancient polity, but its people were. Long had the Choranic peoples sat on and between the edges of the central Olk-Wood and the Sea of Fydor, and long had they thrived here independently. The numerous tribes and kingdoms that inhabited Kūrahan all descended from the same stock and had long feuded, but was largely ignored by the world at large as something of a backwater. The Serkhedar fought the Enjili for the forest, the Aderan fought the Resweb for the hills, and the Deshet fought the Asetpe for the coastal prairies and plains – this was the way it had always been among these peoples, and little both within and without their corner of the world interfered with it.

The first, last, and only time that foreigners have played a great role in the lives came with the arrival of Atem’s legions. Disorganised, backwards, and divided, the Choranic peoples were quickly subsumed. Rule under Atem brought many things to Kūrahan – technology, civics, bureacracy, and so on. But chief among them was brought not by Atem’s knowledge and benevolence, but its ignorance and repression – Choranic unity.

As Atem cracked, the old feuds were forgotten in place of the mutually held dream of independence, and people of all the Choranic kingdoms fought together to realise it. The great empire’s implosion birthed 6 Choranic kingdoms of varying sizes. The one-time unity quickly faded back into the ancient enmity, but the idea of a shared destiny for Kūrahan remained. This time, they fought not for blood feuds but to be the leader of the Choranic peoples.

Asetpe, centred around the mouth of the Olkvein (known as Alekeregu in the Choranic tongue), quickly emerged at the head. Lead by the legendary King Šapur, the campaign to take sovereignty of all Choranic peoples was long, hard, but decisive. In a few short decades, the Choranic peoples were united and Šapur declared himself “Šāhān Šāh” – King of Kings. While the enmity did not fade for many, the final realisation of Kūrahan’s unification and its endorsement by the Magi of Ahura Mihr meant most accepted or even embraced new imperial rule.

Years and kings passed, and the Empire found itself enjoying prosperity. It’s borders had expanded up the Olkvein and beyond the eastern hills, into the lands of some of the many Choranic tribesmen who did not form true kingdoms. The Magi had developed a keen aptitude for honing and expanding the abilities of those blessed by Ahura Mihr with magical prowess. Šāhān Šāh Ardašir, known as Artaxes in the Atemic tongue, now sought to continue the work of his predecessors, and expand the spiritual and temporal dominion of the Choranic Empire far beyond what they could have dreamt.

865

Artaxes, seeing the need for a sizable foundation of gold from which to springboard his plans, begins a period of mercantile expansion. The ground for trade depots to be built in the capital of Mehrkarta, the nearby port city of Bandar Šapur, and the inland city of Alekešah is laid, with the hope of expanding trade between the towns and cities of Kūrahan and those beyond its borders.

[-30,000 Gold, +3 Trade Depots]

The King of Kings also demands half of the Empire’s infantry go through rigorous training in the western hills, forming a suitable vanguard for his needs.

[-4,000 Gold, Veterancy on 2 units medium infantry]

Trade offers are made and accepted with various nations.

100 Gold Remaining

866

Continuing with the project of bolstering trade within and without, Artaxes funds a final trade depot in Sebkehan. With the other cities completing their own depots, and the capacity for trade in them increased, the King of Kings funds the construction of a commercial district in the capital to take advantage of it.

[-10,000, + 1 Trade Depot]

[-10,000, +1 Commercial District]

Gold alone would not be enough to kickstart the Empire’s expansion – troops and the industry needed to support them were also a keystone. The vast, ancient forests of the Olk-Wood contained enough fuel for the fires of industry to keep the furnaces lit for millenia – in the hinterlands of Mehrkarta and Alekešah, great number of lumber mills are constructed to begin the gathering of this. Food was also necessary, and so irrigation ditches are dug further and fields tilled longer, also in the hinterlands of the capital.

[-25,000, +2 Olk-Wood Mills]

[-10,000 Gold, +2 Farms]

4,800 Gold Remaining

Magical Research: [2 Passive Slots, Magic 10]

[1 Passive Slot] Ritual of Regeneration: Experimentation with blood healing could possibly move from being an on the spot action to a long-term effect applied to the warriors of the nation. The master mage and adepts are given a task to begin experimenting with rituals in order to give warriors increase longevity and quicker recovery times. 867 EST.

[2 Passive Slot] Acid Blood Rain: Blood was the center of all things in Chicahtoc but most importantly it was based on the pain of their foes. If they could somehow imbue the blood of those fallen in battle into any passing storms or even conjure one, they could theoretically give it acidic properties to burn those below. 868 EST.

Kemet

doVqHbd.jpg

“Let go of me, heathen! Unhand me at once! This is sacrilege! This is blasphemy!”

Within the Arch-Pyramid of Nisu Nefer, a great number of priests gathered, each one sneering and bitterly laughing at the Outsider being dragged towards the pit. The room hosting the gathering was resplendent with colorful, hieroglyphic writing, while embossed colonnades stretched high towards the ceiling fading into void above the brazier’s light. At the very farthest end of the room, a tall figure sat motionless on a beautiful, golden throne. Wearing nothing but a loincloth and a tall, red-gold crown, he stared impassively at the struggling man. With a single motion of his hand the entire room fell silent and those dragging the prisoner halted to await their ruler’s command.

Pharaoh Rashmut, the Wadjet King, and Eye of Kemet looked the disheveled figure over with the barest hint of disgust.

“You insult the gods of Kemet with your presence, Outsider. Like those of your kin, you trespass upon forbidden ground cursed by Soth, and proclaim it holy. Your vile burial disturbs us, and thus it was cleansed along with your “pilgrims.” The artifacts that were placed within the profaned tomb are held by our Priests for examination, and likely destruction.”

The envoy of the Holy Nation spat an unintelligible series of curses at Rashmut, struggling against his captor’s arms. His anger coaxed an amused smile from the Pharaoh, who continued to speak.

“This day, you dared enter this city—one that has existed long before your ‘Creation Lord’ came to be—and had the temerity to insult our gods. You must now show grace, and ask their forgiveness. Kneel before me, their Eye, and I will grant you that grace.”

The envoy stood silent, shaking with fury.

Rashmut slowly stood from his chair and pointed directly at his feet. He repeated his command through clenched teeth with a coarse whisper.

“Kneel before the gods!” The envoy’s silence was deafening, and Rashmut’s gaze turned wild as he exploded into a commanding roar.

KNEEL!

The priests erupted into chants demanding the envoy’s obedience.  They stamped their staffs on the stone creating an ear-splitting cacophony that echoed throughout the Arch-Pyramid. The younger ones stomped their feet in anger, while the older ones burned holes on the envoys head with their fiery glare.

“Never!” The envoy screamed, spittle flying from his mouth. “I will never kneel before false gods! I would sooner piss on their heads! I would defecate upon their temples! I would shatter every statue and erase them from history!! Blasphemous dogs! Heretics! Heathens!”

The priests descended upon the envoy striking him with their staffs and screaming curses, but soon Rashmut raised his hand again, and the holy men fell silent.

“You disrespect the gods, and you disrespect their lands. For this you will be punished.” He gently pointed towards the pit at the center of the room.

“Cast him in. The asps will judge.”

Two large men hauled the writhing and struggling envoy towards the pit as the mocking priests roared in delight. As he was dragged closer, the sound of hissing became audible. The envoy’s face quickly grew pale after his first look over the lip of the hole, and he started screaming pleas of mercy. His voice was drowned out by the priests hungry for retribution.

As he was tossed into the pit the cheers of the priests drowned out his pitiful screams while hundreds of asps bit his extremities. He struggled briefly against the squall of venomous snakes but eventually his pained cries ebbed until the hall was silent. Save, of course, for the satisfied chattering of the priests who looked once more to Rashmut. The Pharaoh had taken to his throne once more, and spoke in loud, powerful tones.

“The day before last, I looked upon the innards of a lamb, and its entrails fell in the pattern of prophecy. This has occurred before, and to my shame I thought nothing of it. The day after, I looked to the sky and the ibis flew not west to the waters, but north to the lands of the profligate. Once more, I thought it merely coincidence, and not a sign. Then I learned of the Outsiders who prayed in the most cursed, forbidden places that troubled me greatly. Finally, the one who trespassed and defied the gods came here to speak his poisonous lies. These are the signs that we have been awaiting.”

The priests’ eyes widened and their mouths fell agape. Some dropped to their knees, muttering prayers.

Just this last night, I dreamt of a man with an Ibis’ head. He grasped a knife in his hand, and pointed towards a great fire. In its flames I saw a thousand lambs dancing before a great serpent, and with each beat of a drum, he swallowed one whole. This is prophecy. The Outsider comes to beguile and threaten us. This is the hand of Amunnis.”

Rashmut inhaled, and roared to his priests.

“Gather mace and shield, horse and armour. Raise a thousand chariots and bring forth the Medjay. The Outsider has threatened the realm of the gods.”

“The time has come! All must kneel before the gods! All must kneel before Kemet!”

The Pérasmani League

“It is an act of war, I do not see how you-” The lightly French-accented man was cut short mid sentence, his lips pursing as he was interrupted.

“It’s an act of stupidity, Bruno.” The Archon coincided in words with his companion, then looked up from his desk towards the grizzled veteran, a look of amusement on his face. “They can’t possibly expect to win, not against our vessels or our people… They are dwarfed by us, simply put.”

Bruno let out a short sigh as he turned about to look out the window of the estate, his eyes sweeping over the city of Limáni and its sprawling cityscape of red-tiled roofs. “You have always said to keep to the voice of reason, but I see no reason to partake with this offering. Surely, they will submit their terms and bend the will of Samalstraza against us.”

ikifA9-9AVicz7RNGm3nWILBzctxAj-NDDhxPL8dY3IaBthuGuXXGZMFZOgLY5sNpwSlJ-Smtby0ckplBDF92gl2FetaAV6RMdsZd7ftubJG9AYoUGAADFRaNJ7XA2UR9ckqG66N

Atreus looked to the Samalstrazan-stamped letter before him on the desk and took it in hand, idly reading it once over again as he spoke.

“And if that is the case, we have no reason to agree with their parley. The Pérasmani League has stood for dozens of years by the support of others, whether it be our economic rebirth, or the controlling of underground markets, we have persevered. The Ishikawans will be no different; their cause is unjust, methods inhumane, and motives ill-suited for the continuation of peaceful trade within Fydor’s Sea.” Atreus mused for a moment as he placed the letter down, then shrugged his shoulders. “The last reason alone is enough for the Aldemaric League to join if they wish to keep their trade safe, and there are others that will see reason to our cause.” He rose to his feet, pulling the upper part of his tunic downwards to better fit his frame as he approached Bruno.

The aforementioned captain turned to look at the man as he approached, his brows furrowed. “To underestimate the Ishikawans is a short trip to the grave, Atreus.” He muttered, feeling a brief tinge of pain pass through the stump that was at the end of his right arm. “It is not my first exchange with them, and I assume it will not be the last given the circumstances. But to not focus on them is something many Holders would deem unwise.”

“The Holders care for profit, not ethics. As long as I say what they want to hear, all is well within the Gantry. What I do with those words is far beyond their decision; it is my own.” He then looked towards the doorway and began to step towards it.

“Come, Cormac has sent for me about some new invention he’s found or something of the like. Maybe it’ll be better than the mist that he made last time.”

Fydor’s Bastion is deemed no longer insignificant. Rather, the mighty citadel begins to go under severe reconstruction and restoration! Mighty ballistas are planted on the walls overlooking the coasts, the main gate is refurbished and the following ones are  replaced at each wall, as well as in the main entry to the keep. Any kind of previously worn damage is repaired to the best ability. (20k Gold)

Sums of gold are traded to the Khrav in turn for their steel produce, though by the end of the year the Pérasmani men return looking for more steel to buy.

Explorers head out across the east reaches of the cradle. They search for any coastal deposits of resources, foods, or other kinds of tradable goods.

With the recent attack in the east, patrols are sent out around the east with the pair of Exousia vessels maintaining a defensive posture around it. Heading the efforts is Admiral Fedrano (11 Leadership), ensuring that the new city is properly defended from naval invaders. On board each of these vessels is a further 250 Nobles as crew, and 500 as means to occupy the castle in the east.

Small vessels, barely seaworthy and only with enough size to fit no more than a 5-man crew and their belongings, are sent to the Sea of Chtor in an attempt to sneak past the Aetonian warlords blockade. Specifically with the efforts of establishing contact with the Aldermaric League with an offer.

[PASSIVE SLOT 1 - Heavy Infantry] Big boys in armor. [2 Turns Remain]

[T3 Water Spell - Kýma] The current effectiveness of the spells on hand are good but by no means the best. A new spell is conceptualized, though is on paper somewhat the same as the previous spell it is inspired by, simply more powerful yet more restrictive as to where it can be used. Rather than creating water from thin air, this spell works to manipulate pre-existing water into becoming incredibly unstable and similar to that of a swell in a storm. (9.8k G [9.8k G Invested])

Samalstraza

“You may hate the suffering, but you will learn to love the sacrifice.” - The Commander, Megûra.

Sû Tur Sûragon - The Thrice Chosen

The Order of the Rat - So called for their close relationship with the Sorcerers, who each wear a a small rat pin on their lapel, the Thrice Chosen of the Rat are the sworn protectors of Samalstrazi mages outside of Samalstraza proper. They are dedicated to protecting them no matter the cost to themselves, and typically escort them in groups of five or ten.

The Order of the Bull - Named after the Llamassu that guard the gates of Samalstrazi, these Thrice Chosen have been selected to defend the Fortress to their dying breath. Typically, they are veterans from the other Orders who have grown too old to maintain a life of constant travel and now instead spend their last years of service guarding Ninûr’s Descendants. But do not mistake an old dog for a weak on, for they can still bite.

The Order of the Dragonfly - It was a Hastâshem of essence who found their name. Indeed, his study of dragonflies led him to conclude that they were some of the greatest predators the world had ever seen. And that is exactly what those of the Dragonfly are tasked with. The hunt of monsters and darkness around the world. They roam in pairs, trios or alone, tasked with finding and killing any creatures of darkness, quelling curses and protecting the world from the corruption of the beyond.

The Order of the Vulture - The most obscure and well hidden of the orders, these Thrice Chosen are tasked with retrieving that which was taken and making sure it does not happen again. Among other duties.

[MOD]As such, two courtiers are sent, one to Orev, one to Antramar. Each apologizes in turn, saying that Samalstraza apologizes for not being able to send a magic wielding Ninûrian, as tradition requests. However, a string of elder Sorcerers passed away in close proximity, leaving great gaps in their ranks, and tradition makes such replacements very slow. Upon arriving, each one simply does what a diplomat does best, and tries to enter into popularity within the court using their great culture and INTELLECT to impress and interest, as well as their exotic Ninûrian beauty.
-To Orev, Abed-Lamû, 40, male.

-To Antramar, Runi Abda, 29, female.

[MOD]Another team of explorers makes their way to the west, aiming for the next coastal point of interest in local folklore. They will document it in turn, and explore it.

With the failure of the treaty talks, Samalstraza announces to Ishikawa and Perasmani that they will be sending Ashur Bûr of the 3rd Ascent of Elements to advise the Perasmani ruler. He will act as an advisor in both magics and ruling to the Perasmani ruler, sworn to protect the King only. In the same élan, Samalstraza expresses deep regret at the failure to reach an agreement and hopes that both sides will return to the table in coming years.

World Events:
Time marches on, a year passes, it is now 867

The Warlord Aeton’s blockade meets almost complete condemnation throughout the Sea of Chtor. Aldemaric, Wyomian, and Dohocan fleets are quickly marshaled and begin to sail for the straits to meet the Atemic fleet. Though battle is had between the two forces, it proves not to be decisive, and slightly in favor of the Atemic as far as casualties go. At the Siege of Myrtos, which has been raging for now over a decade, action once more ramps up. Atemic forces attempt to break the siege and are remarkably lucky, managing to beat back the Aldemarics from the city and into the countryside.

Across western Chtor echoes the call of a Crusade. From the capital of the universally outraged Holy Nation, Dalis, marches an army of holy crusaders, intent on destroying the lands of Kemet once and for all. At the armies’ head is the Magistrate Heroch of Dalis himself.

Across the devastated Midlands, a legend spreads, reaching the ears of many. Throughout the numerous battlefields left behind by the Orevian-Antramarian conflict, it is said spectre lurks consuming the souls of the dead and dying. Many men believe this to be a sign from Volek, the Herald, a commonly worshipped deity.

Pachaqui Kingdom

The weavers of the earth report that such a spell will be prepared for use by the year 868 (t2 spell) (sorry for missing this the first time round)

The king has many visions, what they mean is up for interpretation, if such things will come to pass remains to be seen..

Crimson Order

To the city of Aldemar they go, they arrive easy enough,

Point of Interest:
Aldemar, a city without equal. A sprawling metropolis positioned on the coast. It is the largest city in the entire region. Several million people inhabiting the city and it’s surrounding area. It was founded as a minor fort by the fledgling Atemic Empire. In tone with the militarism of its founders. The city has not one but 3 layers of perfectly circular, thick, white walls, as well as a large perfectly cut and symmetrical moat which rings the entirety of the city. There are few entrances to the city the main ones being across three large and elaborately decorated stone bridges. Behind these defenses is the most advanced, and richest city in the world. A myriad of libraries, hospitals, plazas, fountains, theaters, palaces, and other such buildings. In the city one can find temples to every god worth worshiping. While the rest of the so-called civilized world also has them, no place but Aldemar has as many.

The city has been besieged many times, though it has never fallen. This is partially due to the fact that its walls are tremendously thick and well built, and because the first ring protects a vast amount of highly advanced, irrigated, and well tended to farmland which can feed a fair amount of the city alone.

The people of Mer’ak are a strange one, the city has the constant smell of rot and decay present within it, and black seems to be the chief color of choice for most apparel, the focal point of the city is a large shrine, paying homage to the ancestors of the Mer’akian people.

Grand Principality of Rostukhov

Vladimir Vasilyevich finds many duelists in Wyom, all of them are sons of nobles, and none are particularly outstanding, he is beaten a couple times, and wins a couple more. Most, however, tell him that if he wishes to pursue such a hobby, he should make his way to the legendary fighting pits of Antramar.

Yithic moss, though extraordinary in its healing capabilities, is largely a dormant and very slow growing moss, it would be impractical to attempt to equip the entire Rostukhovan army with it.

Similarly, the moss is far from fire resistant, in fact it seems to be extremely susceptible to it, burning wildly and with a thick tar-like smell.

Chicahtoc Empire

Following the breaking of the siege in the south, the Eagles find the peninsula to be in shambles, with the Atemic forces on a wild and daring offense.

Kemet

Behind the walls of the Temple, the Magi get right to work, conjuring and weaving new spells to better aide in the development of further magical advancements.
-INVOCATION OF SEKHMUT (T4)- Sharpen the mind of affected persons, enhancing their focus for long durations, improves the speed at which magic and tech is researched. It will be ready for 872.

To the north, the Holy Nation mobilizes, and prepares to march upon the lands of Kemet!

Perasmani League

The explorers find no resources of note in their brief survey of the coast.

Fydor’s Bastion, for the most part in good enough condition, is speedily repaired and brought back up to proper working order.

The spell will complete by the year 870 (For Samalstraza too)

Crimson Order of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen

The start of this year marks a sad one for the Order. A calculated and brutal assault took place on the Capital. Bodies of several Ordermen, and minor nobles are found dead in their houses. Worse yet, the palace of the Duke himself was attacked. While the palace seemed quiet, Dark Magic adepts had broken into the very inner sanctum of the Rune Forge. There many dozens were massacred, the remains for all to view in memorials across the capital. In a vicious response, a certain Captain Reinhart Mueller personally led the purges. The cultist were found skulking in their cells houses. They were all put to the sword, the cells ripped up. Though no accusation has been made, many are led to believe it was Mer’ak that would pull such a dark move.

In spite of these horrid events, life in the Order is better then ever. Thousands of settlers were just given the chance of a life time. Lush and fertile fields to the east had been claimed. Under the stern protection of a Keep, this land represented gold waiting to happen. And so farmsteads and hamlets are planned to dot every surface of the land. On a fare more Industrial note, the Order has realized the need for more armed troops. This years marks the start of a very long armament and recruiting campaign. The Order’s naturally better Arms and Armor will be on the best soldiers in the world.

Not much other official news comes out of the Order this year. It is simply a continued policy of trying to gain foreign contracts. The only ongoing one so far is in the illustrious Mitrovic Imperial Army. There 1,000 brave souls serve. Some of them are new recruits, to replace the losses of last year. When they ask what happened, they are grimly told to stop asking. It seems the wounds were still tender of the disasters charge of ‘66.

A new victim of the Order drearily walks through the more remote parts of the land. Only a boy of fourteen, he was alone and rather out of his depth. He had spent his life in the Capital of Lindenbaum. Son to a minor Noblemen who had married a rich merchant heiress, they had a cozy life. Both had ensured their eldest son was well tutored. But perhaps due to being in two worlds, young Wilfried Schaus was a man of the streets. He spent his days tutoring with boring old teachers. But often at night he would sneak out to run havoc in the streets of the Capital. Eventually a group of thieves saw his value. They used him for his connections and gold, but also training him all the while.

This all changed with the Dark Spawn attacks on the capital last year. His parents were found mutilated in their house. Wilfried had been out, stealing with his gang. The event turned his world upside down. He was no long protected by any status, it seemed the Order was also pushing his family out of it’s annals. Taking what gold he could, he ran.

***And now his path leads him to the massive Great City of Aldemar. Here he was one among millions. Here he could hide, and try to evade imagined and real enemies. Who knew if the Dark Spawn would come for him? or the Order to cover up their mistakes. And so he will blend into the lowest rungs of this city. Using his gold, and slight experience, he will set about going to earn more. Renting a small room at an Inn, he focuses on the petty thievery. He goes to find a few young children, to recruit and train. One day they will be the start of his small crime syndicate in the Great City . [600 Gold]

Slot 1; “Basic Printing Press”

A mechanical device for applying pressure to an inked surface resting upon a print medium (such as paper or cloth), thereby transferring the ink.

Slot 2; “Advanced Armor and Weapon Production” T4 Equipment

The Forge-masters of the Order realize the growing need for better equipment for the troops. Though their current armor had no equal to other nations, they wanted to do one better. And so they will perfect the techniques of making steel, and shaping it into expert level weapons and armor.

Slot 3; Thunder-Bow Prototype

Very similar to a crossbow, but almost not at all at the same time. It is a circular tube attached to a stock, and reinforced with steel bands. A Propulsion Rune also be drafted will be placed at the end where one would hold it. If they trigger the run, ideally it will channel the energy into a mini object lodged down the tube, propelling it out at great force. The Prototype must be built strong enough to resist multiple propulsion runes being used.

“Propulsion Rune” T3 [6,000 Invested]]

A rune meant to hold a large amount of energy in reserve, for multiple use on each charge. This Rune when triggered taps into that power to hit a single point of a small object. It will propel this small object at great speeds, ideally also over a long range. For now it is planed to be on something like a sling. But far more ambitious ideas are taking root......

Kingdom of Rhorric
Year 867

Odén walked through the grasslands at night, the moon was out in its full glory. He came to a stop taking a seat on the stump of an old cut down tree. “I see you, your skills aren’t that amazing you know.”

An older man would come into view stroking his beard and carrying an old withered wooden staff. “You know the Matron will call upon you soon. Your service to the Order comes before your service to the King.” Odén sighed and nodded “I’m aware of that old man, but did the Matron ever think that if the Kingdom remains safe that the Order is safe?”

“Perhaps, but she also knows that Kingdoms are very easily thrown to chaos and the whims of men...we serve the gods Odén. Not Kings.”
