Prince Edward arrives in the newly built town of Tyre along with his Templar retinue. Patrols are sent along the coast to watch for any raiders, while a sizable force pitches camp outside the town. The young Prince following a church service, walks along the edge of the water. He’d kneel, taking a fist full of sand. “We shall build a shipyard here, it’s time we expand GODs word to the open sea.” The retinue behind him mutters in agreement. Edward turns around, “I want to see what those raiders did.”

Edward along with his Templar Bodyguard depart the town, traveling along the coast. They come across several burned hamlets and villages. The young Prince is filled with sorrow, “I shall never let this happen again.” The party returns to Tyre, the town quickly growing as refugees from the raid look for new homes and protection.

Year 877

A year of relief, a year where many a woman and man have lost a burden on their minds and souls, the people rejoice, as a legacy is secured. The birth of Qhapaq, the first son of Thonaqan Micchuqui has brought fresh wind into the Pachaqui Kingdom, as well as new spirit to the earlier distraught leadership. Considering, whilst not as notable as her older sister Warmistress Theaqui, the death of Chimiqua Suppucchi, known as the Sparrow, in a pointless and brutal event called the Ring of Blood has drained on the morale of the nobles, as she was known to be a bright and inspiring presence. Theaqui, whilst fuming at first, has come to accept it grudingly, noting that it was her sister’s decision to partake in something so pointless, just to see “how the world outside of our mountains is”.

Retainer Tuqua returned somewhat emptyhanded to King Thonaqan this year, as his attempts returned promises and no actions. Thonaqan, oddly at ease now, having lost much of the stress he was under in the past few years, literally waves off and thanks his loyal friend for his years of service so far. He has done an outstanding job at proceeding in a peaceful manner for the expansion of the Pachaqui Kingdom and the enrichment of the Chimuquera people. Peace and prosperity, the two goals the Kingdom is always steering towards.

Archpriest Solameqan continues his ventures as advisor, but has become notably invested in the arcane studies of the gifts of Mama-Pacha. Training more able mages and adepts. In secret he has been looking for a successor however, as he notes that the years are coming where he might not be the sharpest or quickest tool anymore. So far nobody has shown up who would be notable enough or who has the potential to become the next Archpriest, despite the obvious efforts of many of the Acolytes and Priests of the Pachaqui Kingdom to please King, Archpriest and Country.

The new Mountain Lion Warriors, the finest and best equipped soldiers the Chimuquera have to show, are the new pride of the Warmistress, but as Theaqui usually is, she relentlessly drills and trains the men and women, knowing there is always room for growth, potential to increase their skills. She herself has not let go of the dream of being the strongest warrior of them all, despite the original misconceptions many of the nobles and leaders of the Chimuquera had. In the end they have grown to accept the hot tempered and strict leader of the armed forces of the Pachaqui Kingdom.

Actions:

As per decree of the young King, new farmland must be prepared to acommodate the growing demand of food by the steadily growing population. So far the Chimuquera had no issue with their nutrition, but the King does not intend to have it become a matter. (-27,000 Quti for 4 farms)

Following the support of the local leaders, Retainer Tuqua ventures forth with the greatest expansion for the Pachaqui Kingdom to date. Five new keeps are to be built on the frontier to increase the control of the Chimuquera on the newly populated lands to the South. (-10 AP; -40,000 Quti for 5 Keeps. Map to follow)

The King continues to order investments to increase the economy in order to bolster the funds of the realm. (-74,250 Quti for 11 Civilian Districts)

The remaining Quti, rectangular chips of gold are being stored in the treasury of Osocchi Appachaqui, in order to save it for the coming year, where coin might become much more needed. (-2,050 Quti)

The next spell is to be named Bindings of the Sand. A spell that should be capable of rooting a person with magic sands to a location, hindering his ability to move, speak or perform magic altogether. In a sense they imagine it to be required if they ever have to seal something away that can not be killed by normal means. (Started 876; due in 880 as T2)

Past Studies:

Rapid winds can cause duststorms. But instead of relying on winds with the power of will grains of sand might be moved with a lack of them. A magical sandstorm is the goal of the new magical pursuits of the Archpriest, something to conceal movement or hinder enemy advances. (Passive, started 872, due in 874 as T1; concluded)

Urged on by the King’s request (and of course the funding that comes along with it), the blacksmiths and artisans of the Pachaqui Kingdom continue in developing the right arms and armor for the coming Mountain Lion Warriors. (-45,000 Quti & 10 AP for Heavy Infantry; 15,000 Quti last year; now concluded)

As the impaling spikes spell is concluded the next project for the priests of the Chimuquera is to elaborate on a spell that may mend cracks and damages in stone, as well as reinforce it against impacts and further damage through tremors, impacts and other less mundane means. Reinforce Stone and Earth shall it be named. (Passive, started 868, due in 872 as T2; now concluded)

In the meantime, the Archpriest Solameqan orders the exploration of the gifts of Mama-Pacha, the powers she has bestowed upon the Chimuquera. The subject shall be the rapid formation of rock spikes out of the ground in a straight line from the caster, to impale approaching enemies. Whilst it seems cruel, it is essential that the Chimuqueran people have the means to protect themselves properly. (Passive study, year 4, due 868; now concluded)

The Samalstrazi advisor shall be tasked to work just across the street from the Shogun’s prized blacksmith, and shall design runic constructs as the Shogun requests. A most pleasing arrangement, particularly for the Ishikawa.

The first task assigned to this clever man is a new variety of ballista bolt, for the Shogun is desperate to make these weapons less underwhelming. He has heard reports of runemancy being used to create strong forcefields, and wonders whether a simple metal projectile could be enchanted to violently release one. In concept, such a bolt would be fired, stick in its target as normal, and then release its charged forcefield, thus blasting away its surroundings. The potential to create hull breaches in enemy ships is tempting, not to mention other applications...

Runivera continues to reap the massive profits of her wine empire, and continues to grow it, aiming to dominate the Antramarian wine markets. But a more important issue rises up for her. The return of Lord Tarbus from his campaigns in Orev. Using her clout gained from the previous organization of prestigious events, she leans on the Queen to lean on the King to let her organize a massive feast to celebrate his return and honor his accomplishments in the field. If it works, she commissions tapestries to depict the more famous moments of the campaign, often with an eye to flatter Tarbus. If the feast does go down, then she plans to go to it in at her most beautiful, and use all of her charisma and beauty to gain Tarbus’ eye and attention. (Charisma 11, Leadership 4, Arcane 1, Agility 2)

She drops the Gutterwater Tavern idea though, and instead simply buys over many taverns in Antramar, offering them many advantages such as protection, financing of their rent, provision of certain simplies, refurbishment, etc, for a cut of their profits. Perhaps it is better to own without being seen.

The Order of the Kindly ones continues to grow, and now Alâ is often busy writing letters to governors and mayors, requesting permission to establish Halls of Healing in various towns throughout the Midlands, where their ever-present banner of white with a red hand upon it may attract the sick and wounded, to heal them. At the same time, she begins to quest amongst the ranks of the wounded soldiers that trickle through her many halls in search of men willing to pledge themselves to the Light and act as guardians of the Halls.

[REDACTOIDED] (10.000G) (50.000G total)

An emissary is sent to the new Mongoloid ruler, Tomorbaatar, bearing gifts of gold, and a desire to ride amongst his entourage so that he may record the many legends and feats that he will assuredly create during his rule. His name is Pestranivar. (Leadership 6, Martial 0, Arcane 1, Charisma 6, Agility 0.) (2000 G)

Spells

Dark Magic / Darkness  - The Gloam: Obscure light in an area, extinguishing sources of light and deepening the shadows, works against all natural sources of light, even the sun. Light caused by light magic will cut through it. T1

Scholar / Mind - Reliquary of the Mind: In a continuation of previous work, scholars begin to work on transplanting the life, emotions and memories of an individual into a Reliquary. Many uses might be found for such a reliquary, but those are for later, much more complex spells. T2

Runemancy - Golemic Sciences: Once upon a time, the people of Ninûr were masters of the Golemic Sciences, also known as Golemancy or Animatrology. Now, it is time for the scions of Ninûr to rediscover this lost art, shape golems large and small. From little servitor spiders to hulking war-machines of stone and steel, magit will knit rock and wood, metal and gems into bodies pliant to the will of Ninûr. (Ability to craft all types of golemic creatures, with price & amount decided by the Mod depending on stats.) T4

Among the blind, the one-eyed man is king
---

World Events:
Time marches on, a year passes, it is now 878

In Orev, Clade Rellin and his Choranic allies emerge victorious, though at a steep price. Much of the city is destroyed, and the ranks of his seasoned army are beyond ruined. To make matters worse, his brother Oros marches on the capital, intent on reclaiming it from Clade’s swift assault.

Further south, the Republic remains unmoving, marshalling its strength as it politiks its way into dominating the smaller elector states in the regions around its borders.

877 proves to be an eventful year for the self-proclaimed Great Thede of Wyom, Mol Kjaro. After hearing of the devastating raids on the western portions of the country, he proclaims to his council that he will reduce the Chicahtoc Empire to a land of ash. Support for the man also seems to grow on the mainland, especially amongst those discontent with the Pact’s inability to defend the borders.

---

Chicahtoc Empire

This year, the raids are far less successful. The Wyomian armies and patrols, now prepared for possible Chicahtoc incursions, always meet the invaders quickly and send them back across the border often. Still, some groups manage to penetrate the Wyomian network of small border forts.

Amarantic Dominion

Heavy cav due for 881

Need description of spell

No I don’t. :chad:

Grand Pricipality of Rostukhov

Attempts at creating an alloy superior to the current t4 (check announcements), is totally unsuccessful. The various smiths, engineers, and craftsmen seem to have reached the conclusion that the metal is as good as it will get, with the equipment they have available.

No.

Sewers, are already a well known system, at least to the educated in Rostukhov., a group of engineers claims they’ll have devised methods to properly make such devices in the Principalities cities.

Holy Kingdom of Ascalon

Missionaries in far off lands, burgeoning towns, a delicate balance of power. For another year, the Ascalonians remain unbothered by the world around them, for GOD smiles upon their lands. When the time of action is to come, however, is a hotly debated topic among many circles of peasants to nobles.

KEMET

The righteous war against the filthy Outsiders, for everyday it drags on, the faithful send more prayers to the god’s, pleading for the destruction of those who would DARE intrude upon the ruins of Sothra Tut.

Pachaqui Kingdom

Peace and Prosperity, two worlds the Mountain Kingdom knows well. For now at least, the Pachaqui remain untroubled within their borders, the world marches on around them, and none seem to mind too much.

Countless years of training and drilling does seem to pay off, at least in certain areas. (+3 Martial for Theaqui)

The kingdom is prosperous, and at peace, not entirely the work of Thonaqan, but without him, things would surely be worse (+3 Leadership)

Perasmani League

Reeling from the battle off the Amarantic coast, the Dol Varuk stop by their favorite double wide surprise, burning several portions of the island in a quick string of raids before disappearing into the East as quickly as they had come. (-5000g )

The Perasmani ships are of standard designs. Refined across the world through hundreds of years of experience, they can find no visible or glaring flaws, and certainly not anything that would make wooden ships resistant to fire.

Kingdom of Adozar

Trebuchets for 882

T4 Equipment for 884

Ishikawa Shogunate

The Repulsor Bolts are considered to be a novel idea, and one which should by all means be very effective. Habu begins his work at once, beginning the lengthy process of weaving the fabrics of magic in order to bend it to its will. The rune will be prepared for 880, how it will function is unknown until then..

Samalstraza

Her dominance over the wine markets of Antramar continues to grow, now catching the attention of many patricians and merchants who have equally impressive empires.
(+1 Leadership)

Runivera’s feast is organized with little issue, but it is indeed an expensive affair that she is expected to finance (-5,000). Her attempts to woo Tarbus go slightly better, and it is clear the man enjoys the large celebration about himself, as well as the many tapestries detailing his incredible acts. Runivera certainly catches the man’s eye, for who could resist the beautiful and charismatic blackoid?

The Order continues to grow,. Many of the wounded soldiers, do accept Ala’s offer, and she soon gathers some 500 soldiers to protect her various establishments.

Pestranivar arrives at the hall of Tomorbaatar with little issue, and immediately begins his work documenting his various feats. Late in the year, however, word no longer comes from the man.

The Gloam - Ready for 880

Reliquary of the Mind - Need to discuss
Golemic Sciences - ready for 883

THE MITROVIC EMPIRE

Image result for komnenos dynasty coat of arms

For the first time in a decade, the Mitrovic Empire knows peace. Now that the largest southern conflict in many years has ended, most of the Imperial soldiery march home, many facing disbandment and a return to their lives. Peace and prosperity has followed in the wake of conflict, and even the old Order territories see the benefit of this, as the Old Capital - known now as Ordava - is rebuilt, becoming a key link in the Mitrovic-Aldemaric border.

For the Emperor, the business of economic and military reform stands at the height of his new agenda. As his Chief Minister, the Emperor appoints the Prince Valentine, his next in line. In hope of bringing about some of the reforms he once discussed with his grandson, the Prince Valeriu is confirmed in appointment to the office of Minister of War.

As is always the case after major conflict, titles and lands are awarded. Foremost of these is Ioan of Tridava, who receives confirmation as a member of the Order of the Empire, an incredibly prestigious award, given only to the most valorous of men in Imperial service. Prince Valeriu receives promotion to General, the first in a planned series of military appointments. The Prince Dorbanus, second in line to the throne, is confirmed in appointment as Lord Admiral of the Fleet. The King of Antramar is perhaps pleased to hear of several towns being named for his, his Queen and his Kingdom

Aside from the slew of lesser titles and estates, the most remarkable award is given unto Absanesh the Auger, the Samaltrazi Sorceror. For his aid, the Emperor offers into him title as Lord Warlock - the first foreigner ever to be honoured with the offer. While the title obviously comes with no duties to the Throne, Absanesh would be well within his right to access the considerable archive of magical knowledge in Verdova, and to seek asylum with the Arcane Halls as one of their members.

-Lord Goran Vuk, a high ranking Attendant of the Imperial Court, is appointed the Mitrovic Ambassador to Samalstraza, where he takes up residence.

-Velarn Palace, one of the smaller, lesser used Imperial Palaces on the border of the Capital, is officially turned over to Samalstraza. Their envoys and ambassadors will take their rooms here, while any Samaltrazi official in the region may use the residence as they wish, even.if they are only passing through.

-Ioan of Tridava, accompanied by a hundred veteran Retainers, makes his way beyond the border of the Ascendancy and Avon, seeking out the point of interest in the mountains there.

-SPELL SLOT 1

Offense - Arcane Destruction - T5

Simply put, an enormous, earth shaking, stone shattering explosion. There is no subtlety or finesse to this magic - it can be used only by a Warlock. It is designed to simply tear down whatever it it confronted with - thrown into a formation of men, it will shatter them, rain chunks of shattered earth across the crater where they once stood. Aimed at a fleet, it simply leaves a gaping whole where once there were ships. Aimed at a wall, and it leaves a breach.

The Ishikawa Shogunate

Driven from the shores of Amarant! It is with a heavy heart that Katsumi reports his failure to his lord and master, who is greatly displeased. It is the Shogunate’s Choranic allies who have taken the greatest losses, but Ishikawan pride and prestige has been greatly harmed. The lord Kais Ishikawa makes it clear that another failure will not be tolerated.

That said, Katsumi has saved his command - the only other option to lead land forces is Tanji Masayoshi, a man known primarily for the indecisive debacle on the Perasmani home island. Tanji insists he is being mistreated, but the bad taste of the campaign seems to remain in the Shogun’s mouth.

The humiliation does spur significantly increased recruitment on Awashima, but the focus never truly shifts away from shipbuilding. After all, the sea is the best friend of the Ishikawa, and it pays to look after one’s friends.

-----------

Actions:

As the outraged Amarantic Dominion continues to oppose his occupation of Shishima, Katsumi puts his blockade plan into effect. Through a combination of close blockades and piracy, the eastern fleet seeks to shut down sea trade to and from Amarant, as well as being a general annoyance to the mainlanders. Meanwhile the admiral nurses his wounded pride by recalling his glorious victories at sea.

[8 Frigates; 32 SP/48,000 Gold] - The mightiest ships afloat!

[1 Carrack; 3 SP/7,000 Gold] - Another ship for the home fleet.

[94 T6 Equipped Vet 1 Awashima Samurai; 4 AP/ 32,000 Gold] - Unparalleled warriors of the blade, the noble sons of Awashima are finally summoned to the fight. The Maeyan blacksmith makes for them the finest armor, the sharpest swords, and their steel is lacquered by the most skilled of craftsmen until they are glorious to look upon, individual tributes to the Eternal’s glory!

[250 T4 Vet 1 Heavy Infantry; 2 AP/12,000 Gold] - Poor performance by the Shogun’s pirates and mercenaries in the recent campaign underscores the need for a strong regular army. As such, a small quantity of capable fighters is raised and trained, to support the elite spearhead of the Shogun’s forces.

[500 T4 Vet 1 Medium Cavalry; 1 AP/10,500 Gold] - Furthermore, capable scouts are needed who can actually fight. The next horsemen to leave Awashima will be far better armed and armored.
