Year 878

Named after the late sister of the Warmistress, Chimiqua the sparrow, the first daughter of King Thonaqan and Queen Monaqueta is already remarkable for her crystalline blue eyes. Her birth brings much joy to the royal family and household, but also the many people from all social standings, Chimuquera rejoice when they hear the news and name. “Chimiqua, Chimiqua, Sapphire of Mama-Pacha, you are the blessing, the sign we have been waiting for so long!” The omens have shown that Mama-Pacha herself has blessed this girl, the Archpriest conducting the full set of Earthen blessings onto the child, which quietly observed throughout them, just to release a giggle of joy when Archpriest Solameqan lined her forehead with the blue of Lapis Lazuli and handed her a holy sapphire from the Pachaqui Temple mountain. Mind you, the full Earthen blessings ceremony lasts for five hours and Chimiqua did not cry a single time, unlike her brother before her who was rather unruly. Prince Qhapaq spent his first year of life on Earth climbing all furniture, walls and rocks Mama-Pacha had to offer. Already nimble for his age of two years, but still clumsy and far from showing any potential or gifts in that regard.

Celebrating her 40th birthday, the Warmistress Theaqui organizes an event for warrior combat, both men and women alike from all throughout the Kingdom are in attendance. Surprisingly to many, she appears to have a daughter and a son, something even King Thonaqan did not know. Apparently she wed one of the Chieftains who joined the Chimuquera down in the basin. Regardless, it is a special day and that is nothing to be missed, as Theaqui continues to be as powerful as five of her mountain lion warriors combined!

Despite the festivities and how busy everyone is, one man still finds time to quietly hone the gifts given by Mama-Pacha to him and his adepts. Archpriest Solameqan remains vigilant as he awaits the sign from his deity to appoint the right successor. The years continue to trickle on and the choice he intends to make, must be the right one and the only one. There can only ever be one Archpriest to guide the Chimuquera on their path through the times, towards the goal of continued peace and prosperity.

Actions:

As per decree of the young King, new farmland must be prepared to acommodate the growing demand of food by the steadily growing population. So far the Chimuquera had no issue with their nutrition, but the King does not intend to have it become a matter. (-0 Quti for 0 farms)

The King continues to order investments to increase the economy in order to bolster the funds of the realm. (-67,500 Quti for 10 Civilian Districts)

Retainer Tuqua continues his adventures, as he proceeds to settle the Chimuquera with another town in the basin. (-13,500 Quti for a town; -6 AP & -24,000 Quti for three keeps; Map to follow)

Albeit celebrating her 40th birthday, the Theaqui does not ease up on the continued armament of the Pachaqui Kingdom. She herself has stated that she does not wish the Chimuquera to ever be in danger, nor show weakness to the world. And for such the Chimuquera must be willing and able to fight. However, the expenditures would not go toward soldiers, but rather artillery and siege weaponry. Surprisingly so. Plumed ballista and scorpions. Heh. (-20,000 Quti and -2 AP for 4 ballista; -10,000 Quti and -2AP for 20 scorpions)

Another apprentice of the Archpriest concludes the exam for adepthood. The woman now joins the ranks of able users of Mama-Pacha’s gifts. (-10,000 Quti for 1 Adept)

The remaining Quti, rectangular chips of gold are being stored in the treasury of Osocchi Appachaqui, in order to save it for the coming year, where coin might become much more needed. (-2,050 Quti)

The next spell is to be named Bindings of the Sand. A spell that should be capable of rooting a person with magic sands to a location, hindering his ability to move, speak or perform magic altogether. In a sense they imagine it to be required if they ever have to seal something away that can not be killed by normal means. (Started 876; due in 880 as T2)

Past Studies:

Rapid winds can cause duststorms. But instead of relying on winds with the power of will grains of sand might be moved with a lack of them. A magical sandstorm is the goal of the new magical pursuits of the Archpriest, something to conceal movement or hinder enemy advances. (Passive, started 872, due in 874 as T1; concluded)

Urged on by the King’s request (and of course the funding that comes along with it), the blacksmiths and artisans of the Pachaqui Kingdom continue in developing the right arms and armor for the coming Mountain Lion Warriors. (-45,000 Quti & 10 AP for Heavy Infantry; 15,000 Quti last year; now concluded)

As the impaling spikes spell is concluded the next project for the priests of the Chimuquera is to elaborate on a spell that may mend cracks and damages in stone, as well as reinforce it against impacts and further damage through tremors, impacts and other less mundane means. Reinforce Stone and Earth shall it be named. (Passive, started 868, due in 872 as T2; now concluded)

In the meantime, the Archpriest Solameqan orders the exploration of the gifts of Mama-Pacha, the powers she has bestowed upon the Chimuquera. The subject shall be the rapid formation of rock spikes out of the ground in a straight line from the caster, to impale approaching enemies. Whilst it seems cruel, it is essential that the Chimuqueran people have the means to protect themselves properly. (Passive study, year 4, due 868; now concluded)

Actions

Runivera uses her charisma and influence to offer some of the smaller big bois an offer to join her as a conglomerate. Offers vast sums of money for expert winemakers and wine estate owners from foreign lands to join her. Runivera approaches the smaller of the great wine moguls. Using her influence at court, especially her closeness to the queen and her wide circle of acquaintances and of course, her stunning beauty, she tries to entice them into joining her into a new sort of business. She tries to find the most easily influenced mogul, who she can wrap around her little finger and use as her voicepiece and suggests that he should lead as director of the company, but they (and her) act as a directory board with whom he must consult. Thus, she says, their combined business could take over the world.  (Charisma 11, Leadership 5, Arcane 1, Agility 2)

Runivera continues to host further parties throughout the year, often extending an invitation to Tarbus and giving him a place of honor, where she can continue to ply him with compliments, looks and words chosen oh so carefully, as she tries to turn his gaze onto her, and her alone.

With Pestranivar suddenly ceasing to report home, another is sent in his stead into the Mongoloid lands, this time, with 10 Thrice Chosen to escort him. The Samalstrazi do not take the disappearance of a scion of Ninûr lightly, nor do they cede to fear. Another will go into the jaws of the unknown, to find their lost heir. Tarûv is his name. (Leadership 3, Martial 3, Agility 0, Arcane 1, Charisma 6.)

Alâ personally blesses every man who choses to wield his blade in the name of the Good, naming them the Servants. The Kindly Ones follow a simple philosophy, that one must treat all mankind with kindness, honor and compassion, that harm must never be done upon the innocent, and that every human is capable of redemption in the Light, even the darkest of souls. As such, Alâ now sends forth missionaries far and wide, to spread this message, and found new Halls of Healing where their words take root. Each missionary is blessed within the Monastery of Light, their brow touched by her gentle hands, as she blesses them, and purges them of their past sins in the name of the Good.

REDACTOID (10.000G) (60.000G)

Player Actions

Absanesh welcomes the title bestowed upon him by the Mitrovics, and through the medium of his allies, he communicates that he is currently within the Orevian capital, which is itself under siege. However, after the forthcoming victory, he will be more than happy to make his way to the Mitrovic Empire to receive the title in person, as if befitting for such an honor.

Velarn palace, if the Emperor Orolian finds the decision pleasing, would thus be renamed to Straza Sistesha, Fort of Understanding. A Ninûric architect is sent to the palace, within which he makes some effort to design it in accordance with Samalstrazi preferences. That is to say, many statues, pools and fountains along with murals depicting ancient events and many palms and fronds.

Finally, Lord Goran Vuk is given a fine residence within Namerniveh, the ‘capital’ of Samalstraza, along with a staff of well-trained and educated local men who were brought up to be servants within Samalstraza. In addition to this, during the long days of Court meetings, he has a room reserved for him within the Hall of Waiting within Samalstraza, in which those foreign dignitaries may stay. While he has no voice in Court unless he speaks on behalf of his Empire, he always has a prominent seat amongst the many given to foreign and local peoples who watch upon the proceedings, denoting the status of the Mitrovic Empire within the court. In addition, he is of course often welcome to various banquets during holidays, along with many cultural events in which he may mix with those fortunate enough to have seats within the Court. In addition, Mokrûr, Aspirant of the 3rd Ascent of Alchemy, is sent to the Mitrovic Empire, to decipher the secrets of Fireweed.

Spells

All ongoing.

Technology

Focus on trying to find a way to stabilize and maintain the blue liquid, so that it’s potency remains even when stored. (14.000G)

The Court of Samalstraza

The Influential Halls (6+ Seats)

The Hall of Scholars - One of the major Halls, the Hall of Scholars has remained so influential due to its highly a-political positions on most matters. The adherents of knowledge focus mainly on exploration, the gathering, recording and preservation of knowledge and the study of archeology and history. To invite the Scholars to have full access to ones libraries, museums or archeological ruins is to invite their favor within the Court of Nine Halls.

Current Position - They form an influential triumvirate with the Hall of Light and the Hall of Blood, capable of turning most votes wherever these halls please. However, they show no real investment, and seem bound to it only to avoid political disruption within the halls.

Rector: Kataphrasos

The Hall of Blood - A Hall as ancient as Samalstraza itself, it has never faded from the spotlight, and is perhaps the only Hall to have been considered an Influential Hall since times immemorial. The Hall of Blood has always favored Samalstrazi intervention within foreign affairs with a penchant to push Samalstrazi interests, though never overtly. They are the most ‘nationalistic’ Hall, considering the scions of Ninûr to be the rightful shepards of humanity.

Current Position - Since the Ascension of Ya YEET, the Hall of Blood has been bound in a triumvirate with the Hall of Light and the Hall of Scholars, which has tempered their more interventionist impulses, while mitigating the Hall of Light’s reclusive and pro-status quo outlook. However, with Ya YEET now often ill and indisposed, this has been changing as Rector Sargon of the Halls of Blood has been turning the triumvirate towards an ever more interventionist approach, as can be seen with his support of the Hall of Magic’s push to intervene in the Red War and the Orevian Wars of Succession.

Rector: Sargon

The Hall of Light - The Hall of Light rose to prominence, as is so often the case, with the ascension of Ya YEET, the new Keeper. In a bid to maintain stability within the Court, and create a new era of reclusive quietude for Samalstraza, Ya YEET formed his aformentionned triumvirate. Indeed, the Hall of Light often promotes a sort of light touch upon the rest of the world, with advisors traveling the lands, and words of wisdom being shared along with peace treaties. However, they revile the type of on the nose intervention that Absanesh has been operating in Orev.

Current Position - With the persistent sicknesses afflicting Ya YEET, the Hall of Light has been shunted to the side in the triumvirate as Sargon pushes a more interventionist agenda. As it stands, they are bleeding seats as Sargon artfully distributes them through deals and alliances with minor Halls and important members of each Hall.

Rector: Melphinar

The Hall of Elements - The Hall of Elements rose to prominence in recent years, due to their close involvement with the two elemental powers to the north. Typically, the Hall of Elements follows a more balanced approach to international politics, where they seek to form powers of equal standing, to maintain a level of equilibrium within the many who vie for supremacy.

Current Position - With the Zeboid menace and Bûr’s close involvement with it, the Hall of Elements has gained great importance and is typically seen as the leader of any effort to quell the Z*b menace. As such, they have gained much influence among the court. In addition to this, they seem to strike an uneasy and tense entente with the Hall of Blood, as their interests align, if only for now.

Rector: Vera

The Minor Halls (4-5)

The Hall of Runes - A Hall which has rarely risen beyond the stratification of Minor Hall, they typically align with the Hall of Scholars in terms of mentality and votes.

Current Position - Their recent contracts with the Ishikawa have given them a noticeable interest in the north, along with the clout that comes with wielding influence over their powerful naval neighbor. This, combined with the threat of the Dol Varoids faced by the Ishikawa has made them align with the Hall of Elements.

Rector: Culin

The Hall of Magic - The Hall of Magic has typically been kept artificially small by restrictions put on their ability to ascend beyond the rank of Minor Hall, as well as the amount of Aspirants that can be trained. This is, ostensibly, to keep the most dangerous of halls in check. However, the mentality of the hall of magic aligns with the magic which they wield. Only those with the will strong enough to control the rippling tides of chaos can wield raw magic, and only those with the will to conquer can rule. As such, they respect the strong, and always favor nations with a predilection towards their own magic.

Current Position - The Hall of Magic currently aligns with the Hall of Blood, as they sport parallel ambitions. The Hall of Blood wishes to intervene aggressively within foreign politics, and the Hall of Magic has a vested interest in the tumultuous politics of the midlands, which are rife with magic users of their type.

Rector: Tûrbal

The Humble Halls (1-3)

The Hall of Secrets - Quiet, the Hall which revolves around Form Magic votes in the way which best allows them to go unseen and unheard. Forgotten in court and in the wider world, they dabble in their own arcane projects.

Rector: Laragirevni

The Hall of Life - Similar to the Hall of Secrets, the Hall of Life keeps to itself. They tend to the Flauranium and the Faunarium, and occasionally join the Hall of Scholars in their explorations of the greater world. They tend to favor leaving the world to its own devices, so that the strong may flourish, and nature may take its course.

Rector: Shrûk of the Swamps

The Hall of Alchemy - The Hall of Alchemy is typically interested in the acquisition of new resources, and has no qualms in voting for those who will ensure the steady flow of new, exotic goods for them to study and shape. As such, their loyalties shift on the flip of a coin.

Rector: Apastrashâ

The Forgotten Halls (0)

The Hall of Shadows - The darkness sees a world in which every man is but a pawn, enemies are to be killed, and the grand designs of the Ninûrics are to reign supreme. For the world was born of Ninûr, and to Ninûr it will return. Those who deny it must die. For their extreme views, Ya YEET voted them out of the Court, and has exiled them to a miserable existence in Nergal’s Gloam, far below Samalstraza, in the neverending caverns.

THE CHORANIC EMPIRE

bff8f6454c310f96538262342e047855.png

When news arrived of the combined Choranic-Ishikawan force’s defeat outside the Amarantic city of Lacunas, the Šāhan Šāh was naturally incensed. “Katsumi didn’t notice a city wall? And this is what has cost us the lives of nearly one thousand swords of the Ahura? What has placed their bodies in dark hands, doubtless to be defiled? An invisible city wall? The death-witches will be crushed, and then there will be questions that will be answered.”

Seeking a swift end to the debacle on the Amarantic coast, the King of Kings devotes the entirety of imperial expenditure for the year to the training of many veteran troops to be sent to finish the job. With almost 1,000 Šemšar Mihr lost outside the death-worshippers’ city, a great amount of money is poured into replacing them. In addition, some 500 Choranic infantry and 1,000 Merdan Jengul are trained and outfitted to a fine standard. With the Kūraušahr’s cavalry tied in the blasted siege of the Orevian capital, another 1,000 are recruited to join the men going to the fight with the Dominion. And with reports of formidable black magicks being utilised by it, the magical arsenal of the empire is more than doubled with the recruitment of another mage and four adepts.

At home, only a single farm on Kishem is built by the King of Kings to support the town named for the island. The empire’s economy was strong enough, and greater threats than a lack of coin were abound.

World Events:
Time marches on, a year passes, it is now 879

Besieged at Tolz, Clade Rellin and his Choranic allies are determined to defend the newly captured capital against the much larger army of Oros Rellin, which has quickly moved to encircle the city and cut it off from resupply. Further south, the Republic once more moves again. With the support of several Elector States, they capitalize on Oros current state of affairs by campaigning in the western regions of the country.

In the night sky, a comet can be observed by all. It at first a glows a sapphire blue, with a white trail. As its journey across the Firmament continues, it becomes red, then yellow, until it disappears into the Sea of Stars.

For the first time in many ages, the riders of Tomak Oburakai ride against the mud-people. The Great Khan orders no prisoners to be taken. They have embarked on but the first step of their glorious path to rebuild the Empire of Oburai.

A chilling peace falls over the far east of Chtor. After many years of war, Kemet stands victorious against the Holy Nation. The capital, after being totally overrun by a wave of bodies, burned for a week. It is said the Acolytes and Honorguard held against the Kemetese horde within the Fortress Temple for almost a year, resorting to cannibalism and the eating of boiled wallpaper rather than surrendering the holiest of points to the savages beyond their walls.

Chicahtoc Empire

While the Emperor’s journey is completed, his mind is still filled with desires, and he feels its pull towards other corners of the world.

The Mitrovic Empire

Finally, there is peace. While the Emperor may be impatient or even bored with the new state of existence, the common man breathes a sigh of relief, thankful of the fact he doesn’t have to worry about his home being torched or him being thrusted into service for at least some time.

Arcane Destruction will be prepared for the year 886, the mages and those working on such a spell claim that what the Emperor desires is beyond energy intensive, and will no doubt exhaust at least two of even the most seasoned casters with a single go.

The Empire’s great deal of expansion is quickly soured. After claiming such a vast territory with few troops or fortifications to properly protect it, it quickly falls victim to raiders, namely those of the Supreme Khan Tomorbataar. Steppe raiders ravage the lands in droves, plundering traders and towns alike in great infernos. (-2 Towns, -10,000g)

Holy Kingdom of Ascalon

Another year passes within the Kingdom. It is accompanied by the good news, with the envoy in Arkopolis, a trade agreement has been arranged by him with the knights. More wealth flows into the kingdom, much to the joy of the common man.

Grand Principality of Rostukhov

Paper is already in great enough availability, that many question why they must make it even more available.

Heavy infantry will be prepared for 883

The engineers are hard at work designing and building a crossbow capable of firing several bolts in a quick amount of time. They run into trouble mainly with the mechanism and the feeding system, which jams up constantly, or fails to set the next bolt properly. While they haven’t broke through yet, one thing is for certain. In order to achieve the rate of fire, they will have to make considerable trade offs with range and power. Ready for 883

The Amarantic Dominion

Ghost binding for 880

The Ishikawan blockade begins to set in, sapping away much of the Dominion’s trade income. While land routes are still available, sea is by far the fastest mode of transportation, and it hits the coffers hard!
(-55% Trade income)

Ishikawa Shogunate

The Ishikawans flee from the mainland, broken and battered, and by walking corpses no less! How humiliating!

Katsumi’s fleet quickly sets about strangling the life out of the Amarantic, his ships ruthlessly patrol the waters sinking any vessel destined for the Dominion’s ports!

Pachaqui Kingdom

The Kingdom is in jubilation at the arrival of the prince and princess, many only wishing to set their eyes upon the blessed children. Gifts from within the kingdom and beyond it flow towards the King and Queen, sent from Nobles, Basin rulers, and even the Grand Empire, who sends a large cart of solid gold bars for the kingdom, a well decorated circlet for the princess, and a sword made of a silvery-gold material etched with many designs for the prince. (+20,000 gold)

When the princess is lined with Lapis Lazuli, and handed the sapphire, both begin to faintly glow. When she plays, the very ground beneath her seems to shift, as to not do her harm. Holes she might’ve stepped in fill, and rocks she might’ve tripped on move aside. All are in agreement that these are indeed very strange signs.

The six galleys laid in the capital are beyond useless in most people eyes, and it is abundantly clear that they will be unable to sail anywhere beyond the island’s coastal waters. A prolonged journey to Chtor would no doubt see them destroyed.

The wine moguls care little for Runivera’s charm and beauty, and more about business. They take a hard stance against Hatra wines, and many begin to fiercely attempt to drive her from the Antramarian markets. Paid shills can be found in the streets of the capital, spouting on about how Hatra mixes Serpent’s tongue into their foul foreign brews and uses it to pry secrets and favors from the queen and whoever else is unfortunate enough to drink it. While Hatra remains of quality is still prefered by many, the Moguls have their own connections, and Runivera begins to experience a decline in business.

Runivera’s parties continue, and Tarbus attends. Later into the year, following one of the many events, she is approached by the man. Chambers are shared, Tabus later leaves, his desires satisfied. Runivera is left slightly broken and with many bruises.

The Kindly Ones begin to spread far and wide. While they have trouble taking root in the lands of Antramar and the Atemic, many halls are established across eastern Chtor, and the Pachaqui Kingdom.

The Samalstrazans do indeed find a way to preserve the blue liquid for longer periods of time, namly by keeping it extremely cold with large quantities of ice. however, it still gradually degrades over time.

The Ishikawans drop off a traveler at the Fortress of Samalstraza.

Taruv and his thrice chosen are not heard from for some time, soon enough, the Samalstrazans in the Mitrovic empire are presented with his head, and warned not to insult the Great Khan with their presence again. The mans head is left throughly disfigured, as if he was tortured.

THE MITROVIC EMPIRE

Frost crusted on the edges of the ornate glass - an ostentatious pane, carefully built with a mixture of coloured and clear glass, depicting some ancient victory of the Empire. Orolian stared out of the icy glass, his fingers tapping the window sill. The Imperial Court had moved south, the Emperor choosing to make his bed in Felva House, one of the smaller Imperial Palaces, built in the hills of Ardava, high in the foothills of the Andriantic Mountains. Many assumed Orolian had desired a change of scenery, but the reality behind the move was the advice of his personal physician, a demand that the Emperor seek colder, clearer air. And so Orolian stared out of the window, a fire burning in the hearth of the small sitting room, where he chose to entertain those who desired his attentions. Unfortunately, this included his sons, whose hunger for the Throne was known to all.

Tarbius lingered in the corner, by a carved table, with a heavy lamp perched on top. The Lord Admiral wore a resplendent display of his position, a show of sashes, medals and badges - a somewhat ironic show, considering the indifference of the Throne towards the fleet. In contrast, Valentine sat comfortably in an armchair, a folder sat upon a another table, dressed plainly with only a single broach to remind that he was the Empire's Chief Minister. The Crown Prince looked idle, bored, as his younger brother continued his rambling, painfully lacking in any kind of subtlety, oblivious to the indifference of his audience. "You must choose an heir, Father, it is important that the succession be official!" Valentine rolled his eyes openly. "Have you finished demanding the throne yet, Tarbius?"

The Lord Admiral's face flushed with anger, as Orolian continued to ignore both of them. With Tarbius now silent, Valentine opened his folder, rustling through the documents. "We are having an unprecedented year of finance, sire, it appears our decision to apply for a loan was a sound choice." The folder closed, and the Chief Minister pushed it into the center of the table, left to the Emperor's discretion, as he stood and stretched. "By your leave, my lord." He stated, formally, and the Emperor finally turned to face his eldest son. "What of reforms in the army?"

Valentine's face remained smooth, but the glint in his eye indicated his displeasure. "The Minister appears to be managing his directive well, sire, though I still believe him to be a poor choice. He is far too young." Orolian merely waved his hand, tiredly sitting down, pulling the folder towards him. "He has a vision. That is enough." The Emperor opened the folder, selecting a ledger from among the documents. "Leave me."

His Holiness Pius X, steps out of his carriage Papal Guards on either side of him. He’d just arrived in Helmgrad, the headquarters for the Knights Templar. Two men stand to meet him, Ser Daniel  and the Grandmaster Ser Godfrey himself. Pius makes the sign of the cross as he approaches the men, “Godfrey my old friend, it's been too long.” Both Templars bow to the Pontiff.

“Old age hasn’t suited either of us well,” Godfrey chuckles. “It is an honor for the Pontiff himself to visit Helmgrad.” The small party turns and enters the courtyard of the Castle. They are met by hundreds of fully armored knights standing at attention. The most recent class of Templar initiates having just finished their trials.

PRINCIPALITY OF ANAXES

His Serene Highness, Prince Robert Ghislaine van Aalbrecht urgently convened with the members of his Closed Council. The Principality of Anaxes feared what war in the Sea of Chtor spelt; the fall of the Crimson Order, the battles raging in Wyom… Anaxes would have to act quickly if it were to survive in the new environment. No longer may Chtor be a bastion of peace and prosperity. As more and more factions grow belligerent towards one another, it only becomes natural for Anaxese merchant ships to be caught within the crosshairs. To the Anaxese, this was unacceptable, having made their fortunes off of maritime trade and indulging in the luxuries their line of business granted them. Indeed, they could no longer sit idle upon the isle of Anaxes, sipping rum in Lyffneveld - no, they would need to open themselves up to the greater world.

The Prince of Anaxes thought it prudent to begin an immediate expansion of Anaxese shipbuilding capabilities. Moreover, as he informs his council, there will be an alliance shall be forged between Anaxes and the Mitrovic Empire - joined in holy matrimony through the marriage of his daughter Henrietta and the Mitrovic prince Valeriu. While many splendid isolationists raised a brow and voiced their skepticism, the fact of the matter was that Anaxes could not stand alone.

[Tech - Stabilized Gunning Platforms]  Accuracy upon the seas, especially one in a storm, makes gunnery from afar near impossible for an untrained crew. The prospect of stabilizing the scorpions to at least compensate for the vertical instability of the ships rocking is brought up. By allowing the scorpion to ‘freely’ move up and down whilst inhibited by several gears and pulleys, the goal to stabilize the weapons to improve accuracy is hopefully not too far of a project to pursue. Year 879

“...the decision is not easy, my King.” Tuqua finishes his report in the throne room of stone of the Pachaqui Kingdom, high up in the mountains. “Thank you, Tuqua. You did well.” Thonaqan replies, before sighing slighty, leaning back into the depth of his earthen throne. He hated making such decisions. But in light of the proclamation and in due consideration of future threats that may arise, Thonaqan came to a decision rather quickly. “Call the Warmistress. I have need of her.” In the coming days a wind of change was blowing from the seat of rulership in Osocchi Appachaqui, the city of the skies. The whole Chitimuqan mountains would feel it, its denizens feeling a change in atmosphere. A new era is about to dawn. An era of war.

All over the Kingdom, men and women on leave were called upon, those who had minor patrol and peacekeeping assignments were recalled to their respective barracks, informed and given marching orders. Merely a month after Tuqua’s return, a force of 4,000 warriors, 5,000 Plumed archers, 1,000 Mountain Lion Warriors and five adepts were on the march to the Mitrovic Empire. This is happening due to an agreement between the Emperor and King. The force is under leadership of the Warmistress herself. At the same time, with a slight delay of a week, a message is given to the Khan and his people. The King has issued a formal declaration of war, in sight of the looming threat of the Khanate and his plans to invade the “mud” people, regardless if the Chimuquera were targetted or not, the stability in the region was at stake, and that is something King Thonaqan could not abide, because a lack of stability invites rogues and bandits who in turn will threaten peace and prosperity as well.

A second consisting of the remainder of the Chimuquera soldiers is sent west to the hills and riverbanks in order to preemptively prepare themselves for a possible incursion from the Khanate, seeing as they were now officially at war. Any merchants from the Khanate are respectfully turned away, noting that at the current time, with their current leadership trade is not possible.

At home, the armament proceeds at an accelerated pace. After due discussion amongst the higher echelons of the Pachaqui Kingdom, heeding the due advice of the Warmistress, King Thonaqan has ordered the massive expansion of the military capabilities. Forges and mines are being erected, hundreds upon hundreds of soldiers are being trained anew, and even Archpriest Solameqan has focused on training more adepts in the art of spell warfare. But this was only one of his concerns.

Something that Solameqan had noticed, as well as the King himself of course, were the signs that showed themselves for Chimiqua, the princess. The very Earth appears to come in harmony with her, when she crawled and curled around, later walked about the palace grounds. Thonaqan, not so much a man of faith or understanding of the gifts of Mama-Pacha assigns Archpriest Solameqan as her mentor and guardian to be. However, against Solameqan’s wishes, he also sends a missive to the Samalstraza, to the guildmaster of the elemental halls. Perhaps they are willing to share possible insights into this phenomena.

All these events overshadow the birth of the third child of King Thonaqan, Prince Domaquetan, a calm child, much like his sister, and a bit of the opposite of how Qhapaq has been at birth, who, with his rowdy attitude seems to have the making of a warrior, as per many of the older nobles’ predictions.

Actions:

As per decree of the young King, new farmland must be prepared to acommodate the growing demand of food by the steadily growing population. So far the Chimuquera had no issue with their nutrition, but the King does not intend to have it become a matter. (-0 Quti for 0 farms)

The sound of metal from beneath Earth and above ground. Forges are built throughout the cities of the Kingdom, whilst in nearby ore-rich regions, new mines are dug to supplement them with the necessary ore. (-56,250 Quti for 5 Mines and 5 Heavy Industry)

New companies of Plumed Archers are being trained, under guidance of Retainer Tuqua, as well as a series of warriors to supplement the frontline fighters of the Kingdom. It might become necessary to have enough men under arms, sooner rather than later. (-5 AP, -30,000 Quti for 2,500 T3 Regular Plumed Archers & -5 AP, -40,000 Quti for 2,500 T3 Regular Warriors)

Archpriest Solameqan trains many more adepts in the art of warfare spellcasting, in order to make use of the gifts of Mama-Pacha to preserve peace and prosperity of the Chimuquera. (-40,000 Quti for 4 adepts)

Finally, a singular Civilian Crafting district is established with the remaining funds. (-6750 Quti for one Civilian District)

A missive with a formal declaration of war is sent to the Khan.

Before that however a substantial force is marched to the Mitrovic Empire to join forces with them as agreed.

Simultaneously, a second army is sent to the rivers and hills west of the Kingdom, halfway to the Khanate to prepare for possible incursions.

Archpriest Solameqan investigates further into the signs for Princess Chimiqua, keeping close watch of her at all times as she continues to grow up. (Mod)

The remaining Quti, rectangular chips of gold are being stored in the treasury of Osocchi Appachaqui, in order to save it for the coming year, where coin might become much more needed. (-4,250 Quti)

The King is in need of a Queen. Perhaps one that will bring wealth, or perhaps one that will bring an army along with her hand in marriage. Maybe both if we’re extremely lucky. Love is a secondary concern as the Kingdom comes first, for a strong marriage will undoubtedly continue to progress the realm's strength. Santiago is getting older and the future of the bloodline is at stake, if no heirs were to come about then the throne would pass to his brother. And if his brother decided to pass on the opportunity then one of his distant cousins were sure to accept the offer. This would not be acceptable and as such a bride must be found quickly to solidify succession and legitimacy, avoiding a crisis. No specific nations are targeted, letters are dispatched everywhere in the vicinity. Let us hope that marrying a King is enticing enough.

As for the nation's state of being things are going rather swell. The treasury continues to be bolstered by coin year after year. By not expending all of the budget we’ve allowed for an excess of currency to form and as such we have more to spend on economic improvements and such. This year although heavy on the treasury will yield economic boon and great gain. Many mines and both heavy and civilian manufacturing are set to be opening up towards the end of the year, not to mention the capitals walls are receiving a massive upgrade. Trade continues to flourish and more and more trade partners begin to appear. The system that’s been developed has been beneficial so far, so until further notice it will continue to be in effect. If all is well and set on the right path then during the next five to ten years the Kingdom should become a major power in the world around it.

Finding themselves with an excess of gold this year, the Court of Nine Halls, after some debate, elect to build a massive statue to the glory of Ninûr. The statue shall be in the image of Ashornazirpal, last great All-Mage of Ninûr, who will wear a robe up to his waist, after which his CHISELED muscles will be shown in gleaming bronze relief. His flowing beard will roll across the expanse of his MASSIVE pectorals and  on his head will be a crown. In his hand he will hold aloft a great staff upon which an everlasting fire will burn. In his other hand, he will hold aloft a globe, representing the world. (25.000G)

A great expedition. Led by Aspirant Finervinûr of the 2nd Ascent of the Hall of Scholars, who is followed by Aspirant Vosneh of the 3rd Ascent of the Hall of Light along with 20 Thrice Chosen, they take their newly purchased Frigate, named the Spirit of Curiosity, and launch in a great expedition. Once they disembark in the far north the Spirit of Curiosity will circle back to join them in the gulf. They themselves will continue to explore using rafts, canoes, and their own feet. It is accepted that it may be a multi-year trip. Enchantments of Linkage are used.

A quiet year for the Kindly Ones. They do what they can, they continue to send pilgrims and missionaries, and continue to recruit new Servants (Knights of the Kindly Order) to protect them while they heal and mend the scars of war.

Not so quiet for Runivera, who sees the arrival of her new ‘lady-in-waiting’ from Samalstraza, a distant, aloof and cold Aspirant of the Hall of Light of the 3rd Ascent, Visneh, twin to the exploring Vosneh. She plays the pretense of a lady-in-waiting of the same culture well, but her main purpose is to keep Runivera in line, her mind sane and her body healthy, and she doesn’t let Runivera think any other way for an instant. She continues to throw parties, to invite Tarbus and to grow her ever-growing network.

But as for the Wine Moguls, Runivera switches stances completely. Instead, she begins to allow some of her loyal, yet influential court members to buy portions of her business, which in turn gives them a slice of the revenue and opens their own fortunes to the business, thus exponentially increasing the economic clout of Hatrâ Wineries.. She builds a Circle of Lords who will guide the business, and suggests that, as they grow, they may wish to open various other ventures under the overarching label of The Circle. During this time, she also begins to hire her own street men, and attempts to undermine a few target Moguls by bribing some of their own workers to reveal the secrets of their own production, or getting some of their better wineries to flip sides.

Parûma, Aspirant of the Elements of the 2nd Ascent, begins her long trip to the Pachaqui Kingdom in the far southern mountains, a place little known to the scions of Ninûr. Nevertheless, a request was made, and a request was answered. Escorted by 5 Thrice Chosen, she travels to see the prodigal child, who wields such power at such a young age.

Spells

-Phase 2 of the Great Ward of Samalstraza begins. Balvâ the Bloadsoaked is not seen for months on end as she and Ori the Craftsman consult and work day in and day out on the great and final barrier against the enemies of Ninûr. In this second phase, the Key Holders will gain knowledge of every being within Samalstraza, and can induce three levels of pain upon unwelcome arrivals, each one draining more power than the last. #1 is a deep discomfort, like an itch that cannot be scratched no matter how hard you try. #2 Is a piercing headache. #3 Is the very boiling of one's own blood, until death ensues.(T5)

-Vapor Bomb - Elemental Magic - Water - T3: Summons a large ball of boiling hot vapor in an area, after which it expands violently, scalding any in its radius before eventually dissipating. Particularly horrible when summoned into a closely confined area, as its violence and effects are multiplied.
