Origin

The domain of nature has been forever controlled by a trifecta of Aenguls, each specified in their task. Cerridwen is known as the Mother, created with her two kin during the birth of creation itself. Her unending affection for life itself is a necessary balance to the often harsh and cruel realities of a natural world, embodying the very nature of kindness and joy to be found in life.

It is said that whenever the sun rises, so too does the great Springmother. Cerridwen’s divine light breathes life into the cold darkness each morning, replenishing the weary with renewed strength and vigor. During the creation of the world she is said to have personally sculpted every flower and fruit, every nut and vegetable into an object of replenishment and beauty. Cerridwen’s love for the world is unconditional, and she desires peace above all else.

To experience Cerridwen is to experience the purest form of bliss. You must run barefoot through a bright meadow in the spring-time, your hair down and blowing in the warm breeze as the sunlight washes over your sealed eyelids. You must kneel at the edge of a coursing stream and stare down at your reflection, watching the myriad of colorful fish swimming by without much care in the world. You must hold an infant in your arms, helpless, trusting, and know what it is to be a mother.

Realm

The Aspects host a vast, collective realm of absolute nature known as the Fae Realm, or the Eternal Forest to Druii. While they leave the Druii to maintain the realm of Descendants, simply extending their fingers into the place via their influence, they maintain a more direct control over their own realm. The Fae Realm does not follow normal seasonal rules, instead maintaining three unique seasonal areas as well as a forever changing, shifting mass in the center where all three are forever growing and shrinking.

Cerridwen maintains the Dayward Lands, which is host to an extremely high quantity of biodiversity. The Dayward Lands are loud and boisterous, filled with the sounds of trickling water and the endless scurrying of animals. Cervitaurs and centaurs occupy the Dayward Lands, their laughter, shouting, and lives filling the vast wood.

Following

Aspect worship persists through many individual groups, from isolated communities to populace Mali’ame cities. It is indeed notably the ‘ame who have perpetuated much of Aspectual worship, many statues and places of worship for the Aspects dotting their cities. Yet, there are those that have taken it further.

The Druii stand as the direct tools of the Aspects in the Descendant Realm. Via their Aengulic might, the Aspects facilitate a connection between nature and the soul of the Descendant, allowing for them to utilize things beneath control of the Aspects at their disposal. Druii use these Gifts to, in theory, maintain the natural balance of the world. Despite the Aspects not having much direct contact with their servants, the Druii still carry out this task generation after generation. Attunement as a Druii is the most direct way of following the Aspects, Cerridwen or otherwise.

Present Day

The Aspects have not contacted the Descendant realm with any sort of frequency, nor any time at all within recent history. This may appear worrisome to those who wish for direct reassurance from their gods, but Druii are used to these long periods of silence. So long as their Druidic Gifts remain, and visions upon natural attunement persist, it is safe to assume the Aspects still remain safe and strong in the Fae Realm. In the sense of active meddling, the Aspects have always refrained and will continue to refrain. Their very presence and power directly in the Descendant realm may offset the balance they go to such ends to preserve.

Purpose

The Aspects have played an important role on the server over the years. Not simply for Druids, but overall. The diversity of the three separate Aenguls and the culture surrounding them has a place on LotC, both in magical groups like the Druids or in mundane worship done by the Wood Elves.
