[Shelved][✓] [Amendment] Seer of Vaasek, Blindsight

Apologies for another one of these tiny amendments, although this one is even smaller so it shouldn’t be much trouble and it’s the last. As with the previous amendment there isn’t a format for this so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

As seen here in the original lore, seer is divided between feat, 1-slot, 2-slot, and 3-slot magic. An oversight of mine was the intention to reward seers who get to 3-slot (and can therein get a TA with some more progress) by giving them two very minor abilities among others. One of those abilities is blindsight, described as follows:

Blindsight - Combative
After having cemented their complete allegiance Vaasek no longer considers the removal of a seer’s eye covering as sacrilege and permits them both their basic vision as well as a modicum of the witness’s powers.

Spoiler

Mechanics:

Even when the seer has their eye covering removed they are allowed their usual secondsight as well as all abilities within the first slot (Caecic, polyglot, heat lense, identify). Once they replace their eye covering they regain access to their usual abilities.

As well, upon the removal of their eye covering a seer can choose the complete look and/or design of their eye, be it completely mundane, thick with cataracts, a specific iris color like gold, a specific pupil shape like a goat, or otherworldly and bizarre like concentric ripples.

Blindsight is a passive ability.

Red Lines:
-The chosen eye design cannot be animated or moving outside of dilation.

What I propose to change in this amendment is to move blindsight from the TA-having 3-slot section into 1-slot, the base magic; usually to not cover one’s eyes is sacrilegious to Vaasek as they are not metaphorically blinding themselves to rely on him as when having the feat so once they are as invested – have the magic over the feat – he allows them to see without a covering and can alter their eyes e.g. turning usually clouded, milky eyes to a casual and normal brown. The issue that I didn’t foresee (hah) is that seers now wander around in blindfolds and it’s very easy to pinpoint who they are. Alongside that, there are a decently large number of seers in some groups, some of whom are obvious, and their congregation is suspicious to a normal person which isn’t what was intended. Vaasek wishes to be unknown and covert wherever possible so if seers who have effectively sold themselves to him don’t have to go to the extreme of getting a TA in order to better blend in then it is easier to allow them to pass as normal people in casual situations normally. What’s the point of the Illuminati if everyone but the top are obviously members?

That said, I would like this rewritten version of blindsight to be put in the 1-slot stage of seer:

Blindsight - Combative
After having cemented their allegiance Vaasek no longer considers the removal of a seer’s eye covering as sacrilege and permits them both their basic vision and minute eye control.

Spoiler

Mechanics:

Even when the seer has their eye covering removed they are allowed their usual secondsight but cannot use activated seer ability.

Red Lines:
-The chosen eye design cannot be animated or moving outside of normal dilation.

Sorry for the paperwork ;-;
