[!] In Front of you lies an old book, the cover made of leather and with the sigil of the Confederation of Hammers engraved in it. One would be able to read the title: The Lovers of Belka. On one of the corners there is a name but part of it has been crossed out, the only thing one could read in the cove is “of the High Tower”. Once you open the book the author would note the work of Boreas Stormfist as essential to the creation of the saga.

[!] Depiction of Anbella and Belka.

Belka first met Armakak a few days after her creation. She noticed the plants she was meant to take care of were dying. The young Brathmordakin did not want to fail the Maker Yemekar, or her mother Anbella. She thought for days about how she could feed the plants Anbella had planted in the earth. However, no solutions came to her mind. This all changed when one day a beautiful gold haired being came down to the mortal realm. This being brought with him a big ball of fire he called the Sun. The Sun was carried by a large golden chariot pulled by three cats and three dogs. His name was Armakak and he came down to the mortal planes to meet Belka. Armakak had heard of the beautiful daughter of Yemekar and Anbella and he wanted to witness her for himself. He tried to seduce her for three days by giving her grand gifts. Armakak was after all the Brathmordakin of wealth even before the first gold mines were created. On the first day Armakak gave Belka the winds, however, Belka still showed no interest in him. She told him that she had no need for the wind as it just bent the plants she tries to care for. On the second day Armakak gave her the clouds. Belka appreciated the gift and she laid with Armakak in form of gratitude. From this union the first winged beings were created. However, Armakak did not wish to be a one night memory. Because of this he tried to have her fall in love with him. With this goal Armakak created a golden harp. Belka fell in love with Armakak. Because of their love Armakak brought his realm closer to the mortal planes to help Belka take care of her tasks. By bringing the sun close to the mortal planes the plant life boomed giving rise to the first flowers. Through the decades they had many children giving birth to all the animals that roam during the day, protected by their father’s light.

[!] Depiction of Armakak.

Their happiness was broken by the one that was then the Brathmordakin of ambition: Khorvad. Khorvad had been sent to the mortal realms by Dungrimm to use sickness to root out the weak and old animals to allow the balance of nature to continue. Khorvad as was his nature thought this task to be beneath him, but he did it as he had no other choice. He was too young and too weak to face Dungrimm and evenless Yemekar himself. However, Khorvad like Armakak noticed the beauty of the Brathmordakin of youth. When Khorvad approached Belka for the first time the Goddess was disgusted by him as he smelled of putrefaction and death. Ignored by Belka, Khorvad returned to the shadows in anger. After a few days passed Khorvad waited until Armakak was away from Belka to take his form. Once he took the form of the god of luck Khorvad laid with Belka and once done vanished again into the shadows. It was not until Belka gave painfully birth to monsters that she knew she was tricked by the Brathmordakin of ambition. Through this trickery creatures of evil were born all at once. Sadly for Belka her agony did not end there. Once Armakak found out of what happened he abandoned Belka. He blamed Belka for being able to be tricked so easily. Despite this Armakak still loved Belka and before he left the god gave her a ray of his sun and turned them into lightning. Now that he was sure that Belka could now protect herself with the weapon he just gave her he left. However, as he was never able to stop loving her he kept visiting during half of the year. In this way summer, spring, fall, and winter were created. In summer and spring Armakak comes to keep and eye on Belka and make sure she is alright, his presence brings the sun which helps the plants grow stronger. During winter and fall Armakak departs taking his sun with him, because of this these times of the year are the coldest and many plants die.

[!] Depiction of Belka rejecting Khorvad.

The tears of Belka filled part of the world in water creating the oceans. One Brathmordakin took notice of the weeping goddess. His name was Grimdugan. He was the brother of Armakak and was as beautiful as he was. However, while his brother dressed with gold and gems Grimdugan dressed in rags. At first Belka feared Grimdugan and threatened him to smite him down with her lightning. Grimdugan humbly bowed down to Belka and promised her he did not wish to harm her. He, like his brother and Khorvad, was enthralled by Belka’s beauty and promised to avenge any harm done to her. Belka eventually told the god of avarice what happened with Khorvad, news that Grimdugan was not happy to hear. Grimdugan and Khorvad were once close friends as they both lived mainly in the shadows. But after hearing something so vile he departed to face his old friend. Once they met Grimdugan and Khorvad fought. Both back then were young Brathmordakin and their power had not fully manifested itself. Nonetheless, Grimdugan taunted Khorvad into a fist fight. What Khorvad did not know was that Grimdugan was a trickster and had a trick down his sleeve. A few decades ago Grimdugan made solid darkness and called it obsidian, with it he made a dagger, one that no eye could see except the eyes of the owner of the dagger. With this dagger Grimdugan stabbed Khorvad in the eye. The blood that was spilled that day in the depths of the earth was so hot that it melted the stone and covered parts of the earth in molten rock. When he returned to Belka he showed her the eye of Khorvad, then he crushed it in his hand and turned the eye into dust. He then proceeded to toss the ashes in the sky and created the stars for Belka. With these stars Belka would always know how to find what she is looking for. The stars also worked as a symbol of shame for Khorvad for all to see. Over the years Belka and Grimdugan became close friends and from time to time they laid together. Their offspring were the ones that roamed at night and in the waters protected by the darkness of their father and the tears of their mother. Despite their close relationship Belka knew that Grimdugan was not a being that could not be trusted to help her take care of the life Anbella tasked her to protect. This was not because Grimdugan was  evil, but because his avarice could at times cause destruction to achieve wealth. He would be willing to burn down a forest if it were to excavate and reach the minerals down in the earth.

[!] Depiction of Belka and Grimdugan.

The last of Belka’s lovers was Ongradhad. The Brathmordakin of knowledge was a being that despite all his stored intellect was not versed in the art of love, something he wanted to change. He was going to try to learn from Anbella but he feared she would feel insulted as she was after all the wife of the All Maker Yemekar, so he decided to learn from Belka herself. Belka was skeptical at first but Ongradhad proposed a trade. He would teach her the art of mapmaking, writing, and papermaking, in exchange he asked to be taught by Belka about love. It was an odd offer but Belka agreed. Belka and Ongradhad awkwardly laid together and from it the lesser Aeguls and Daemons were born. These beings were wise and strong like their parents and they were versed in powerful magic. Some of these beings even learned to manipulate the void of Yemekar’s forge to introduce it in the mortal plane temporarily.
