Name of your plant/reagent:

Lily of the Valley

Appearance:

The Lily of the Valley is a naturally pretty flower that has a sturdy yet sleek light green stem and an assortment of pure white small flowers that dangle in the wind as they suffer the fate of gravity. The petals of this flower will begin to curb outwards as they mature with age, and will be notably distinguishable from the younger flowers as they remain closed and off-white. While the stem has a very regular feeling when touched, the flower or more specifically it’s petals are welcoming soft, and provide a comfortable atmosphere for those under the influence of this plant's natural drug. They have been known to shift slightly in colour palettes but will almost exclusively remain white, or a light pastel colour in small quantities - this can be altered by simple agricultural variables, or stains being left due to their location (E.G. It could be a light red due to blood being spilled onto it, a light green from grass trimmings and so forth,)

Location:

These can be found almost anywhere in the world due to their sheer survivability, though they will often remain in small bundles and their presence were always the result of former Arbitrium. They will survive in a majority of climates though will grow with less issues within plains with extensive sun cover, although have been known to grow in sunlit caves, near-freezing temperatures and hot arid areas. While it was never formally documented, the Lily of the Valley’s will often grow without intervention where an Arbitrium has been buried if the environment allows it.

Raw effect(s) of the plant/reagent:

The Lily of the Valley is an illustrious plant known for it’s psychedelic properties and pretty nature, which is known to constantly radiate a smell which crosses between Lavender and Roses within a seven meter radius, which is a signal for the plants range although the natural psychedelic properties remain harmless at this point. This will however naturally change should the person remain in close proximity (within three meters) to a plant for a space of two minutes, which they will gradually elevate in an hallucinogenic trip which will reach its peak within ten minutes of introduction. This lures them in a mental state of bliss - in which their vision alters so objects will expand and contract, move suddenly while fluctuating in slight colours and they feel as if a blind person could see for the first time. Sound becomes more pleasurable in some sense, as music will be quite enjoyable to the sense where they can almost see and feel the sound and in some cases, taste it as if it were a texture (though not a flavour.)

Everything under the influence of the psychedelic properties of the Lily of the Valley will be a surreal experience where your senses are dialed to 11 and you discover feelings never found before, while your mind feels almost delayed yet expanded - to expand this further, while you remain functionally on the ground as yourself, you may feel like a rock travelling in space in a reality far from the one you encounter. This however is the positive mentality which most will often encounter should they enter the trip with a positive mindset, however there is a very unfortunate potential for a bad trip should they enter with a negative mindset, or it is drastically changed during the influence. While your senses are overclocked to some sense, they can begin to -play against you; you could begin to hallucinate things that aren’t there on an audible, visual and even sensual level which can inflict an almost night-terror like mindset under the influence which can haunt people even beyond the trip - although it will end entirely after the drug wears off, potentially leaving mental trauma from the experience.

So hypothetically you have encountered the Lily of the Valley and passed within the two meters of the flowers within the allotted time zone and wish to exit your trip. There is a static time of five minutes after leaving this “hot zone” where you will gradually fall out of the hallucinogenic state and back into reality, which is just basically the effects lessening until they finally disappear as if nothing ever happened - although there will be a mental trait present in which something isn’t right due to the strange experience, although this will likely be gone within a day. There is however an alternative for this short lived trip should somebody wish to eat a lily of the valley however they must be freshly cut to achieve this. Eating a flower will cause these hallucinations to be equal to what an Arbitrium feels as after an hour, they will begin descending into a trip which becomes overwhelming by the second hour and will become bearable after the third however the hallucinations will become more potent until the sixth hour before they begin to decline in their trip intensity over the course for another six hours. From consumption, they do have a noticeably putrid metallic taste which is uncomfortable and most definitely out of the ordinary should somebody unknowingly consume one; not enough to gag but certainly will get them to spit it out in disgust or confusion.

Harvesting:

Lily’s of the Valley are relatively easy to harvest due to their timed release of their chemical, however it isn’t the most practical route. Once you cut the flower, and effectively kill it, the psychoactive chemicals will be rendered inefficient within five minutes unless ingested - they can however be transported by derooting them and placing them in a potted plant with adequate water to allow them to continue growing. Due to the nature of their quick death, they can be harvested for quick consumption with a basic field knife, however moving them through plants will take some time and commitment in carefully digging them out without causing considerable damage to the roots or flower.

Red Lines:

  • The Lily of the Valley will die while at high altitudes if they are not in the immediate vicinity of a water source, and will often be found in regions which can healthy accommodate their development.
  • The level of which those trip in the presence of these flowers will be determined on the quantity of healthy flowers within the vicinity, so while the trip may be strong with only three flowers present, being within the area for the time limit with ten or more present will result in an ungodly trip as if the person ingested the flower and was in their early trip.
