Orcish Name: Orgha'Buurz
Gender: Female
Birthday: 22nd of the Grand Harvest, 1784 F.A.
Race: Half-Orc, Half-Adunian
Nationality: Orenian

Parents: Edward Napier (father); Gragmar’Buurz (mother); Yuliya Styrne-Napier (step-mother)

Siblings: John Styrne-Napier
Profession: Tailor / Romance Novelist

Height: 6'0"
Weight: 218 lbs
Build: Owing to her half-orc heritage, Sarah stands taller than many humans and noticeably bigger-boned. She's sturdily built with a wide, curvy frame atop thick legs.
Hair: Dark auburn
Style: Sarah typically keeps her hair pulled back into a low ponytail that's draped over her shoulder. A few curled strands stylishly frame her face.
Eyes: Emerald Green
Skintone: Pale Yellow-Green with a smattering of freckles across her nose and cheeks.

Clothing:
Sarah inherited her father's keen sense of fashion, so she endeavors to keep up with the latest trends. She prefers subdued autumnal color palettes, since those hues pair well with her natural complexion. Although with her orange hair and pale lime-colored skin, people will often jokingly refer to her as a pumpkin.

Identifying Features:
Sarah stands out in the crowd when she's among humans. She towers over most human men and women. Her physique is also naturally wider, which can make her appear intimidating. Her greenish skintone and small tusks also contribute to her unusual appearance.

Overall Demeanor

At this point in her life, Sarah mostly wants to be left alone - to live life at her own pace without constantly enduring the judgmental stares of others. She has never been a person of great ambition, preferring to just quietly enjoy her interests away from scrutiny. Unfortunately for Sarah, she is a visible minority who must struggle against prejudice every day of her existence. The years have toughened Sarah up, however, and she's grown a thick skin. While microaggressions still irritate her, she's learned to shrug them off and focus on the good in her day-to-day life. The people who love her will treat her kindly... and the people who mistreat her do not matter. Sarah is lonesome and deeply longs for acceptance, respect, friendship, and love. Yet those longings are often frustrated by the cruelty of the people around her. She fights an eternal war against her worse nature and her born-in tendencies toward battle-lust and blood-rage.

Strengths

Stylish
Sarah inherited her father's love of finely made clothing. She makes a point of dressing in a classical and feminine manner to offset her orcish physique. Her favorite textiles include silk, velvet, and rich, soft furs.

Iron-Willed
Sarah wants what she wants and feels what she feels without apology. Good luck trying to convince her to do anything she doesn’t want to do.

Creative

Sarah studied writing under her step-mother, famed playwright Yuliya Styrne. Her hobbies include writing poetry and romance novels. She's also a skilled draftsman when it comes to tailoring, having inherited her birth-mother's love of working with her hands. She prefers to make garments for men, since handsome, princely gentlemen are a weakness of hers. Sarah has a fairly respectable side-business selling bespoke suits.

Hard Working

Sarah took a page from the book of Sir Bullfog Phrogerous, who served as an inspiration to her in her younger years. Bullfog, too, struggled to find acceptance in Oren. However, the constant attacks and racism did little to stop Sir Bullfog, who went on to achieve knighthood under Emperor Joseph II. Sarah's (perhaps idealistic) belief is that, if she just works her hardest, she too can one day earn respect and admiration.

Weaknesses

Orcish Appearance
Sarah's orcish traits dominate over her human traits. She's tall and thick with yellow-green skin and noticeable tusks. Her appearance has often proven to be a detriment in human society. People judge her and treat her cruelly for her orcish heritage.

Blunt
Sarah doesn't really think about what she says before she says it. As a result, she'll often unintentionally make hurtful or rude statements. Sarah doesn't intend to be cruel - she just doesn't have much of a filter.

Emotional
Sarah's orcish temperament leads her to anger quickly at the drop of a pin. Since growing older, she's learned methods for keeping her wild emotions in check. However, they still sneak out from time to time.

Suspicious & Painfully Shy

Sarah is used to being mistreated by almost everyone. As a result, she's often just braced and waiting for people to act unkindly toward her. She has difficulty forming friendships as a result - and she is often very lonely. However, once she's comfortable, she can be very open, animated, and friendly.

Childish

Sarah can easily come across as lacking in maturity. She's quick to anger and prone to bouts of irrational emotion. She'll stomp her feet, run away, or yell before sitting down to have a sensible, adult conversation. It's a bad tendency that she's aware of - but still struggles to contain.

Controversy has dogged Sarah since her birth. She was born from the strange and unlikely union of an Orenian gentleman and an orcish tribal. Edward Napier - a historian, naturalist, politician, and minister of the state - met the orc Gragmar by chance after she was exiled from her tribe and wandered into Helena. Their unusual and unprecedented relationship sparked controversy and  outcry after Edward publicly admitted to their forbidden love in the Varoche Hall, in front of the entire Commons. As a result, the court convicted him for miscegenation and fornication. From the moment Sarah entered the world, she was told she should not exist. To make matters worse, Sarah strongly resembled her orc mother in terms of appearance. Despite being half-human, her orcish traits dominated. She grew tall and sturdy with tusks and yellow-green skin. Even as a small child, Sarah worried that she would not be accepted among human society.

For the large part of Sarah's early life, her parents kept her away from the public eye. She and her fraternal twin brother, John, were educated privately in their family home by their father. Edward taught the children etiquette, manners, science, history, mathematics, and grammar. He wanted them to grow up like normal children and raised them immersed in human culture. They were encouraged to befriend and play among their human peers. While John could easily pass for human with his pink skin and small, unnoticeable tusks, Sarah had a much harder time making friends due to her strong orcish characteristics. Sarah often found herself excluded on the basis of her appearance. While she loved John dearly as her brother, she couldn’t help but resent how easily he navigated human society while she struggled for no other reason than how she looked. She became extremely self-conscious about her looks early on in life. While her father often praised her and told her how pretty she was, Sarah felt like she was anything but.

As she reached pubescence, Sarah began taking an avid interest in clothing and personal grooming. She developed an almost confrontationally feminine personal aesthetic – decking herself out in flowers, ribbons, lace, and frills. People found her scary, ugly, and intimidating due to her orcish features, so she went in the complete opposite direction and tried to make herself as cute, girly, and nonthreatening as possible. Her in-your-face femininity was also a rebuttal against those who called her too manly or masculine for her orcish physique. Sarah wanted to be as pretty and girlish as possible... so that people would notice her pastel skirts and flowery bonnet before they noticed her green skin and tusks. Unfortunately, her efforts to make herself seem more 'human' and less threatening tended to fall flat.

As she drew closer to maturity and adulthood, Sarah faced the prospect of having to leave the safety of her father's house and join society - a prospect that utterly terrified her. Finding a career in Providence proved to be difficult due to longstanding prejudices against half-breeds and orcs in particular. Legally, half-orcs were not considered people and thus not entitled to the same rights as full citizens. Sarah found herself stonewalled at every turn.

Eventually, she secured work as a barkeep at a local tavern called The Wicked Spider. However, she found the job too difficult due to its public-facing nature. The drunk bar patrons frequently belittled and abused her, stiffing her on tips and intentionally spilling their drinks on her. Sarah quietly resigned her position - growing sick of the rude regulars and the skimpy outfit her boss made her wear. In search of alternate career paths, she took up studying writing under her step-mother, Yuliya Styrne. Her step-mother praised her work, but Sarah lacked the confidence to publish anything. Her manuscripts languished unread in a trunk under her bed, never to see the light of day. After a third failed attempt to start a business, Sarah ended up deciding to leave Oren in 1802, when she reached age 18. In her letter to her father, she cited the frequent prejudice she often suffered as a half-orc being her primary reason for leaving the Empire behind. She stated an intention to travel, in hopes of finding a place where people would treat her kindly despite her orcish heritage.

Sarah traveled abroad for ten years before returning to Oren in 1812. Her step-mother had passed away due to an unfortunate and unforeseen accident, which is what prompted her return. Initially, Sarah only planned to stay long enough to assist with the funeral preparations. However, she quickly realized how much she missed her family while abroad. She began tentatively putting out advertisements for her small business as a tailor.

While working in Providence, she encountered Henry Penton - a protégé of her step-mother's. Henry Penton had begun a publishing company alongside her father. Out of curiosity, Sarah picked up a copy of poetry book, Natural Wealth. She immediately fell in love with the picturesque, bucolic poetry found within. She became determined to meet Henry in person and get his signature on her copy of the book. The two met and, with Henry's encouragement and prompting, Sarah decided to publish a small book of children's poetry. After receiving a warm reception for her poetic debut, Sarah began publishing a serialized weekly novel entitled Sun Kissed.

Unfortunately, Sarah would never get to publish the finale of her novel. Two weeks after her debut as a novelist, Sarah decided to travel to Krugmar in search of an old friend. The orcs, believing Sarah to be a whitewash, murdered her nigh immediately after she entered their city. Sarah died at the age of 30, never having found the acceptance and love she so longed for. She died unmarried, never having so much as kissed or held hands with another person. Few would mourn her besides her parents and brother, for Sarah had few friends to speak of.
