At the crack of dawn, with the rays of the sun just barely peeking out from the horizon, a crisp sheet of parchment would be tucked into mailboxes and slipped underneath several doors within the Realm of Elvenesse and its neighboring nations.

"After coexisting together for decades, the Institute of Healing and Apothecary of the Springmother has joined together in the sacred duty of healing. This new institution has been appropriately named: The Circle of Healing.

Mali have long held close the art of healing, time and time again honoring a sanctuary dedicated to herbal remedy, surgery, or midwifery. The Circle of Healing continues to offer this safe space to all, preserving compassionate healing and wise teaching. Together, the healers of Elvenesse welcome all to our sanctuary, whether they seek healing itself or the teaching of healing.”

[!] The letter is signed by Medli Amaeden, Aedrie Sirame, and Evar’lae Amayril.

-= Goal =-

The Circle of Healing presents a space in which healers may come together to assist the sick and injured, while also giving students of healing a place to learn. Education is an incredibly important value to the Circle; teachers offer a wide selection of classes, for which the topics range from nursery to general healing to surgery. Atop the institution lies a garden in which herbs known to harbor medical properties grow; those who choose to learn herbalism will work with these herbs to further their understanding of ancient medical practices. Overlooking the beautiful realm of Elvenesse, a classroom serves as a place for students to experience hands-on lessons taught by experienced medics. Furthermore, the Circle of Healing owns a small apothecary nearby, which serves as a branching-off establishment with two purposes; producing medicine for the Circle of Healing, and selling herbal remedies & cosmetics to the public.

-= Ranks =-

-= el’Welier - The Listener

The Listeners of our circle, or el’Welier, are those who take on the journey to become knowledgeable in their studies. These acolytes from all walks of life are welcomed in their quest to enter the medical world with guidance from those who have proven themselves capable to teach others the standard of care.

-= el’Medi - The Helpful

Those more interested in practicing on their own are known as el’Medi, though are more commonly referred to as The Helpful. They have proven themselves able to practice medicine without aid, their knowledge spanning across different areas of the medical field.

-= el’Naeri - The Devout

Our teachers, or el’Naeri, are experienced medics that have elected to pass on their knowledge of specific topics to those who wish to learn. They offer hands-on classes in which students will gain experience in a variety of methods and understand why they are effective.

-= el’Vul - The Intuitive

Our leaders of the circle have worked their way up through the ranks, having proved themselves worthy to guide those around them. Receiving the title of el'Vul, or The Intuitive means that these healers have taken further steps to lead and teach, voices sounding out within the crowd. Despite holding this position, those that hold this rank are not above their peers, simply appointed as a pillar of guidance in times of need.

-= Merging Cultures =-

Given the merge of the Mali’ame and the Sea Elves of Aegrothond, the Circle of Healing has a unique culture. While faith was a critical part of Siramenor’s Apothecary, the Circle does not emphasize it as much. Healers and students are free to exercise religion if they wish, but are not required to do so.

In Mali’ame culture, a healer commonly wears the Mother’s Mark: a tattoo of winding, brown branches sprinkled with blue blossoms. The Mark represents Cerridwen, one of the Aspects of the faith, and her nurturing, forgiving nature: one that a healer strives to embody. They might also bear the mark of Hamatsa, the Dolphin Mani. The Dolphin governs the sea, watching over the life-giving waters and all that it protects. A follower of the Mali’ame faith, elnarnsae’ame, might pray to Hamatsa and Cerridwen before a healing session to ask for proper guidance.

An old elven matriarch smiles upon the sight of the bustling healing hall, leaning against her staff with a sigh of relief. Once a great healer herself, it filled her with pride to see so many others walking the same path.

"In their hands... I trust." she would mumble to herself with a little smile, before going to walk down the road quietly, staff thumping against the stone bricks of the road.

A woman's work is interrupted by the delivery of the missive, a welcome relief from the tedium that has become her life. The reprieve is short lived, for when she sees the purpose of the missive, she mumbles incoherently. The usual routine, the gloves, the coat, the boots, out the door with her flying friend and her metal assistant.

Services will be offered, and payment requested.

Eyes scanned the parchment in front of their face, reading over each word, green eyes soon pausing upon the signed names.  One in particular stuck out.

"Feels like just yesterday she was in my classroom."

It was murmured, a fond tone to the words, thumb brushing along the edge of the parchment.

"You've come so far. I'm proud of you."

The parchment was soon folded, tucked away in a dress pocket as the person turned to walk, green leaves just barely visible atop the woman's shoulders, having spread up her shoulder blades from her back.

"I have faith that you will do amazing, Medli."

"As humble hands of Cerridwen, may our touch be delicate, and our services an unrequited gift." The Dryad folded the missive and placed it neatly on his desk.
