DUNGRIMM

~ ᛞᚢᚾᚷᚱᛁᛗᛗ~

“His forging near-complete, YEMEKAR took a smooth stone from his workbench, and with his tongs deposited it deep in the fires of the Soul Forge. It burned bright and hot in the Soul Forge for a millennium, until he took it out. It was so burning hot that it was pale and glowed faintly. He took the stone and placed it on his workbench, carving a rune into it, naming it. It became Khaz’a’dentrumm, and it would serve as the home of the gods that had been made, as well as the resting place of his children once they were done crafting on the world he made them. Thus became death, and its patron DUNGRIMM, Lord of the Dead. He would guide those children of YEMEKAR who perished to the next life in Khaz’a’dentrumm, and give his blessing to those who would risk death for the sake of honor.”

DUNGRIMM is the god of death, patron of honor, battle, valor, bravery, defense, and the moon. DUNGRIMM guides the souls of those who have left the world behind to Khaz’a’dentrumm to be bid upon by all the Brathmordakin. Most that worship DUNGRIMM are warriors or soldiers, they pray to DUNGRIMM for honor, valor, or that he not guide their souls to Khaz’A’Dentrumm just yet.

Teachings of the Mask

The Teachings of the Mask are a collection of guidelines that teach one how to honor the principles of DUNGRIMM, and act accordingly with all things relating to his domain; death.

Kavir

Kavir is the teaching of Death. For all things that rise, they must fall. Such is the nature of death, it is not a thing of evil or corruption but another theme of Yemekar’s Design. Let death be dignified, be it your own or others. Show reverence and respect to the fallen, to those who shall depart from Yemekar’s Creation. Let not harm or corruption come to places of death, be it undeath or the desecration of tombs, such is among the greatest atrocities to Khaz’A’Dentrumm. Let you learn from the wisdom of those passed, let their mistakes be your lessons, their prosperity your beacon, and thus honor your ancestors.

Khorrokunn

Khorrokunn is the teaching of Justice. Death itself is the final justice that comes to all, for when our souls pass the mortal plane of Yemekar’s Creation and into Khaz’A’Dentrumm, no deception may hide from DUNGRIMM, your honor. Ensure that wrongs done are not left unpaid, let not the dishonors done to you and your kindred are made right. Fulfill the design Yemekar has made as you, and be the arbiter of His justice. However, abuse the teachings of the Brathmordakin and call the sacred symbol of justice to satisfy atrocious ambition, and doom yourself its greatest enemy.

Anaraan

Anaraan, the teaching of duty. Death is not a grand punishment for the honored soul, but rather the opportunity of sacrifice, an obligation to offer one’s life to danger for Khaz’A’Dentrumm. Let yourself march through death and life for your kin and kingdom, let not fear and corruption stray you from your divine design shaped by YEMEKAR. May your duty towards the Brathmordakin end only in joining them by death, and your place among the halls of Khaz’A’Dentrumm is certain.

Paragons and Heroes of DUNGRIMM

Paragon Bogrin Grandaxe

Progenitor of Elder Clan Grandaxe, this son of Urguan established a legendary line of dwarves with a foundation of duty and service before the Hearth and Mask as its culture. Legends speak of Paragon Bogrin Grandaxe as the first dwarf to fight with an axe and was known for his skillful strikes on the battlefield. The first axe master, a noble champion of honor and duty among dwarves, gained the title Paragon of DUNGRIMM.

Paragon Urir Ireheart

Scourge of Undeath, Paragon Urir Ireheart marched into the corrupted realm alongside two other dwarves to vanquish the forces of Khorvad with one decisive final strike. At the end of his journey, Urir had found the infamous Axe of Krug, the last thing binding the undead to Yemekar’s Creation. With a final sacrifice, Urir with the corrupted axe in hand cast himself into the infernal pools of lava, destroying the Axe of Krug and devastating the machinations of Khorvad in his sacrifice, earning him the rank of Paragon of DUNGRIMM.

Paragon Kjellos

The infamous Paragon Emperor Dragon-Slayer Kjellos is one of the most revered ancestors of Khaz’A’Dentrumm, especially amongst Elder Clan Ireheart which worships him with devotion as god of justice. In life he was Kjell Ireheart, his first legendary feat being among the three courageous dwarves who marched into the corrupted realm of Khorvad to vanquish all undeath. Presumed dead with the others, the dwarves were shocked when he returned to their kind on the back of a dragon which he slew after landing. Kjell would go on to slaughter six dragons total, a godly feat in itself, and as well led Urguan as Grand King and then Emperor after successful conquest against the orcs and Alras. In his death, the dwarves witnessed Kjell Ireheart ascend into godhood as DUNGRIMM’s apprentice, and became the Paragon Kjellos, arbiter of divine justice.

Paragon Igor Ireheart

The terrible Butcher of Kralta, Paragon Igor Ireheart was an astute commander and fearsome warrior, beginning his legacy as a powerful Grand Marshal in the reign of the Conqueror, Grand King Thorin Grandaxe, during which he put down many rebellions and helped lead the Great Conquest. When the terror of the North, Ondnarch returned to stew fear amongst the dwarves, it was at Igor’s lead that the fallen Aengul was fought back and by his hand, the legendary Hammer of Barradin was used to duel Ondnarch. In its awesome power, Igor died wielding Odnarch’s Bane, in sacrifice releasing the servant of DUNGRIMM, the Aengul Wyrvun from its corrupted form. For this exceptional example of sacrifice and unparalleled martial prowess, Igor Ireheart was named Paragon of DUNGRIMM.

Paragon Rhewen Frostbeard

Paragon Rhewen ‘Papa Bear’ Frostbeard was a formidable yet warmhearted dwarf, being both the founding emperor of Vandurguan and father of countless Frostbeard Clan traditions and lines. Renown for his great feats of conquest, he saw the dwarves through the terrible Eighteen Years War started by his predecessor, bringing a stalemate out of an imminent defeat to the Empire of Oren, then later forged the second dwarven empire through the vassalization of Vandoria and Khalestine. He reigned as Lord of the Frostbeards for many decades and is credited as the source of numerous traditions of the clan, and many times throughout its history had he stepped in to bring it to honor and glory. Chief among his achievements, however, was the mandate of Khaz’A’Dentrumm by which through divine runic magic the dwarves witnessed Rhewen be crowned and blessed by an ancient king with the true crown of Urguan Silverbeard. Into his retirement Rhewen still served, reforming his clan a final time and dying in the depths of Luciensburg whilst fighting Ratiki forces endangering his kin and allies. For his legendary feats of valor and sacrifice, Rhewen Frostbeard has been recognized as a Paragon of Dungrimm.

Hero Bazian Grandaxe

Hero Bazian Grandaxe was a great unifying figure among the dwarves, within the kingdom, and within his clan. It was at Bazian’s call that the Braveaxes and Blackaxes united into their progenitor Elder Clan Grandaxe, and he personally assisted his brother Valen Grandaxe and then Grand King Thorik Grandaxe in creating the Articles of Urguan. Throughout his career, he was a primary leading figure of the dwarves holding many esteemed positions such as Lord, High Remembrancer, and many more, contributing to several aspects of Urguani society. For his dedicated duty to his people throughout peace and war, he was named Hero of DUNGRIMM.

Hero Dreek Ireheart

A major figure in the clan Ireheart during its time of blooming, he is one of the four founders of the ireheart bloodlines. He was slain by the aengul Ondnarch while defending Kal’Azgoth. Whilst he was alive he was known to be able to decapitate uruks in battle with a single swipe of his weapon. Whilst the Irehearts spent their time in Kal’Azgoth, Dreek Ireheart purchased both of the clan’s Clan Halls as well as maintained their commerce. During his life, he was Lord twice and the Grand Marshal once, as well as Clan Father for a brief time. For his exceptional leadership and bravery for the sake of the dwarves, he is recognized as a Hero of DUNGRIMM.

Hero Barradin Silverbeard

The second dwarven king of all time, Hero Barradin is from an ancient era of Urguani history and were it not for his leadership and tactics during the Eternal Cold, the wrath of the corrupt Aengul Ondnarch, then the dwarves likely would have been completely wiped from history. Wielding runic weaponry forged by the Triumvirate of Runelords, notably the hammer Ondnarch’s Bane, Barradin was able to defeat Ondnarch and seal the enemy into the Kal’Varak. For his courage leading the kingdom through such terrible times and in combat against that most terrible foe, Barradin was declared Hero of DUNGRIMM.

Hero Vorstag Ireheart

Hero Vorstag Ireheart was an esteemed leader within the dwarves, leading two reigns as Grand King, although both were somewhat controversial. Vorstag commanded the reclamation of Kal’Agnar as Grand Marshal, and in its tombs wielding the legendary Warhammer “Liberation” defeated the corrupted form of Urir Ireheart and reclaimed the Armor of Urguan for the dwarves. For his bravery as a commander and in his combat with DUNGRIMM’s Bane for the good of the Brathmordakin, he was named Hero of DUNGRIMM.
