[!] A notice of great importance has been delivered to the College of Cardinals, summoning them to elect a new High Pontiff after the unfortunate passing of His Holiness James II. This election is to be held in the Basilica of Ex. Godfrey in Providence, and to be chaired by the incumbent Vice-Chancellor, and Regent of the Holy Mother Church, Amadeus Cardinal Sutica.

After clearing this throat, the Vice-Chancellor began:

“In nomine Patris, et Horenus, et Exaltus Honorem.”

"Heavenly Creator, walk with us as our mediator and judge to endow us with a sound mind and contrite heart in the election of the next Holy Pontiff. Grant, we pray, that by your infinite wisdom and omnipotence that whomever is chosen shall reflect your mercy, compassion, strength, and duty in the exercising of this great Holy Office. This we ask in pray, in the name of all Aenguls, all saints, and of the universal church, Amen."

Amadeus looked up, pausing, before he addressed the gathered, reading from a prepared parchment.

"May grace and peace be with you all. Today, we are assembled as a Kingdom to God to bestow upon a new grand shepherd, to serve as the Servant of Servants to God's church, the Supreme Pontiff of The Holy Canon. This holy year of choosing, in Anno Domini 1802, we shall proceed to elect a new High Pontiff.

The Cardinals then proceed to order, "Extra omnes," signaling the laity and all non-participating guests of the election to be escorted out to begin deliberation.

Amadeus Cardinal Sutica would then walk forward to the scarlet box that stood in the room’s center, casting his own vote.

He invited his peers to do the same.

Cardinal Johan Vuiller of Aquila would look to the seven skies crossing the Lorraine. “By Gods blessing protect and guide us” he’d cast his vote. After which he would return home to his twelve children, nieces and nephews.

Riding out towards Norland, Cyril Eloi Halcourt reflected after he had cast his vote, amazed by the things he had saw by James II's side as he passed.

"What say you then, Father - is it the end of an era?" Inquired a nosey carriage driver to the aloof looking man.

"With the turn of the Century over Tuvmas time, our Holy Father's passing..." Reclining, he would sigh as he looked out the window and pondered for a time. "Yes... Let us hope it is the bright dawn of something new."

1 hour ago, Publius said:

Or so he had thought, the courier meant to deliver his vote seemed to have never found his way to Providence...

Amadeus Cardinal Sutica nodded as the slips of paper were presented before him. He bowed his head to the Pontifical aide, indicating to do now what he must. After a dramatic loss of Cyril Halcourt's vote, all had seemed to be going wrong at the worst possible time. But it had been retrieved, and sent again with apologies, and the votes were now all in.

"Albarosa Cardinalis.."

"Albarosa Cardinalis.."

"Albarosa Cardinalis.."

"Albarosa Cardinalis.."

"Albarosa Cardinalis.."

"Jorenus Cardinalis.."

"Jorenus Cardinalis.."

At this point the long time electoral master, PhD certified, and philosopher-judge Amadeus d'Aryn knew the maths when he saw it. It took him a while, but he eventually figured out that five votes to two was an outright majority. He sent for Albarosa immediately.

A new Pontiff had been chosen by the College of 1802.
