PHILOSOPHY & RELIGION The Seradis believe in the veneration of ancestors and believe that how they carry themselves is a direct look onto their ancestors, and if one were to break this, they’d rest within the Orc’s spirit realm after death. It is prohibited to practice dark magic, and often voidal magic unless one has permission from the Crown of Elvenesse. Additionally, it should be noted that, while they do wear a bit more revealing clothing, they should not look like a harlot, the clothes they wear should be tasteful, not trashy. [The Ancestors] The Seradian do not worship a single ancestor, but rather, whichever one seems fit to them. For example, Chieftess Isara may worship the Mother, Delilah. However, another might worship Koltira or Jiub. RITES To become a member of the Seradis Clan, one must complete three rituals. Seradian Throat Singing An ancient tradition that lies within the Seradis family, Seradian throat singing is the art of making a song with your throat. Usually, these songs are to protect people in dire situations- such as war or a trial. Other times, these songs are purely just for fun. However, it should be noted that this is not something easy to learn- and would take 4 years [1 Month/4 Weeks OOC.] Carving the Flute While carving the flute is not unique to the Seradis Clan, it is a rite of passage. These flutes must be crafted by hand, and should be modeled after nature or an ancestor. This flute must also be playable, and said member should learn the flute if they wish to do so. Gifts to the Ancestors Finally, to complete their trial, they must create a shrine specific to an ancestor they had, such as their Grandparents. Additionally, it can be towards the Chieftain of the Clan. In this ritual, they will apologize for any wrong-doings they have committed in the past, and be rebirthed as a Seradis. If they wish, they may choose to take a new name. RANKS Tahu’Haelun The Chieftess of the Clan, currently Isara Seradis. Meaning ‘High Mother’. Celia’ibar A full-fledged member of the clan.
