A THESIS ON:

THE COVENANTS OF THE EXALTED

&

THE MODERN TRIBULATIONS THEREOF

    11th of Godfrey’s Triumph, 1808

Horen's kin was blessed twiceover. Not only in being birthed with life, as were the rest of the brothers in creation, but with also the most paramount task in the universe; to carry out the Will of God. It was Horen's faith in God when all others had abandoned Him that granted him and his progeny favor with the Lord, and for the same reason it was them who were chosen to enact His plan. In God's omnibenevolence and love for His children, the Covenants he ordained serve not Him only, but serve to see to the good of all creation and for the salvation of the universe as a whole.

These selfless covenants of Mankind to God stand as unstirred principles in the Canon and its Church. In essence; it is the plan He has set for us, his descendants, and it is only through total and unfaltered adherence to the Covenants in the conduct of both the Individual and Humanity, that salvation can be made real. The Covenants are the preparatory milestones God set before us in our trial for universal redemption and paradise. These would climax in the prophecy of Auspice, whence Good shall overcome and annihilate all Evil. It is therefore that only through labor can our Godgiven tasks be fulfilled, and the vision of Paradisius be made real once more. To delay further and on the mission we were bestowed will lead to damnation, for evil grows with sloth and neglect, and lest we act; we shall fail.

"And before the commoners, the first condemns temperance, and gluttony is exalted.

And the second condemns diligence, and sloth is exalted. And the last condemns faith, and doubt is exalted.

So the world is a pit of suffering." (Auspice 1:23-26)

COVENANT OF INSTRUCTION: Exalted Horen

When the descendants joined forces to bring about the defeat of the Great Deceiver (cursed be his name), they were blessed by the Aengul Aeriel to alleviate their curses. God, however, did not permit Aeriel to bless Horen, for Horen was to be pledged to Him for his faithfulness. Ascending him to the skies, God bade Horen with the first Covenant; bestowing upon him the Scroll of Virtue and promising him that three of his progeny would succeed him as both rulers of Man and Prophets of God.

The Covenant of Instruction describes the universal destiny of Horen's kin as shepherds of faith and morality amid the other races, and that they shall be a light unto the nations. This sacred vocation demands that the Word of the Canon shape and influence the cornerstones of law and tradition in all human societies, and that the personal conduct of both Men and their Kings be forever rooted in virtue. That vocation also entrusts Man with the role of shepherding those led astray from faith and in leading by spiritual example, and to strive for the establishment of Godly qualities all throughout the world.

COVENANT OF PURITY: Exalted Owyn

The Owynian tale and ethos centers around the the cycle of Redemption; I. disobedience (sin), II. repentence (sorrow), III. penance (labor) and IV. deliverance (mercy), which all Canonists at various points in their lives come to experience. The sacred Covenant Owyn was entrusted with prophesying revolves around his absolution from sin through penance. In purifying the wicked and corrupt from the realms of Man and ruling in their stead virtuously and justly, he was redeemed of the grave sins of wrath and kinslaying. The realms of Man today, as descendants of Owyn by blood and spirit, are too entrusted with maintaining the purity of faith and blood he ordained in their communities. The unholy, corrupt and unrepentant are to be cast away, as they were by Owyn, and the influences of their evil be utterly rejected and shunned.

In our modernising age, sin has grown to take new and evolved forms to pollute and seep in society. The worship of reason, the acclamation of debauchery, the toleration of impurity in blood and apostasy. In upholding the Covenant of Purity, Canonists must beware all these temptations, and fervently observe the seven Virtues. In addition to the Purity of Faith, Canonists must too heed the Purity of Blood. God has birthed the four brothers and made them each distinct. Each was cursed by Iblees (cursed be his name), and each of the descendant races were ordained their own paths. To taint one’s blood with the blood of another, not of his kind by nature, is to beget an abomination, and damn it to sorrow and misery. Harren took upon himself an elfwife, and his people mixed with elvenkind. Their course was sordid and full of vice, as they were impure of both blood and faith. Today, when the identity of nationhood no longer applies to its native peoples, the similar sin of miscegenation is given headway. Us, Faithful, must tread with great caution, and find zeal in our hearts to reject these harbingers of impurity, so that the Covenant of Purity might be enacted, and Goodness be allowed to reign supreme.

COVENANT OF SOVEREIGNTY: Exalted Godfrey

The Covenant of Sovereignty ties back to the promise of God to his first prophet, Exalted Horen. For his fidelity, he was promised his offspring would be blessed in leading Mankind as both kings and prophets (Gospel 2:71). Exalted Godfrey would come to continue that promise in its direct interpretation. As Exalted as well as first Holy Orenian Emperor, Godfrey united the human realms from the chaos of brotherly rivalry and fragmentation as well as the yoke of nonhuman conquest. He affirmed the pureness and holiness of a Human ruler over Mankind and of human independence. He swore to the Lord the Covenant of Sovereignty; that whoever sits on the Throne of Man, shall be neither elf, dwarf, orc nor magi, and that only Man shall rule over Man in purity.

THE COVENANTS IN OUR TIME

and the MASSACRE AT ST. HEINRIK'S BASILICA

Opinion Essay by Acolyte Elim Temmeck de Langford-Sadre;

"My sincere hope is that every Canonist wept the day of the Diet of Karosgrad, yet doubt of that firmly grips my heart. The stabs suffered by the reverend priests and holysirs at the corner of that House of God had preceded their bodily injuries, and the blood of the martyrs had spilled far beyond the steps of the aisle. The Church of the Canon was wounded, mortally, when the bells of realization rung through the faithful world. That sacrilege and homicide, both grave sins that in my life I could only imagine to be described in text, were enacted. Not on a whim, not by a cowardly assassin or a dark mage on a rampage; but by our anointed and their hosts. A nakedness of evil was unveiled that day, but what pains me even more than the bare cruelness that was granted free reign in the Basilica, was the injustice that followed.

No marshal was held accountable for the order, no King was critisized for his wicked smile, no soldier tried for his crimes.

There is loyalty to a nation, and there is loyalty to God. Conviction to a miniscule and temporal nation, when put in comparison to conviction to the Creator of the Universe, is hard to describe in words. Yet time and time again I fail to understand how could man be compelled to commit such cruelties in the House of God, upon fellow Canonist ministers, in a Diet of repair and mending?

It was the Archdaemon Iblees (cursed be his name), who committed the most grave sin of seeking to equal God. It is him, too, who is condemned from all goodness and seethes in wrath and envy from the depths of the Void. It is him, too, who shall be exterminated come the End of Days, and his servants which shall be overcome by the forces of God. How, then, is it that the rulers of Man and their leal servants, put faith in man over faith in God? I fear to think it to be true, yet the silence which ensued following the massacre, and the inaction in delivering justice only leads me to fear the worst. When put in context of our Covenants with God, of our sacred vocation to follow His plan for salvation in the Seven Skies, it is all the more horrid. The Covenant of Instruction was defiled; virtue was absent in its entirety from that assembly and its perpetrators. The state of the Covenant of Purity, too, is now all-too-reminiscent of Harren’s betrayal in the Holy City. The Covenant of Sovereignty was almost undone; the promise that the impure shall never reign over man treads on a fragile line - Whom, who derives their legitimacy to rule from the very Church they ordered put to the sword, can proclaim to still herald those Canonist principles?

The Canonist realm and the Faith is in a state of deep disrepair. The evil, which for a brief moment unveiled its teeth, returns under cloak, and all again appears at peace. I can only pray that the questions which endlessly resound in my mind cease soon, and that Faith be mended in full through the world.

The fate of the wicked is doom, for God is on the side of the virtuous.”

THE BISHOP'S ADDRESS:

“In light of this text, I beseech all Faithful; in obedience to our sacred contract with the Lord, to first adhere to His law and be virtuous, and secondly to spread His word, so that both the wicked and the unaware can know of His love, and lastly to expel all sin from your lives, the lives of your families and the realms of your nations. The promise of salvation is real, for it is a promise made by God and His word is truth. The change must begin thus, through man onto his peer, for our destinies to be achieved. Should we want to still see Holiness in the lifetime of our children, our labor must begin now, afore we are too late.”

Bishop Guy said a prayer over his bed before bed, one for all Humankind. Acolyte Elim Temmeck de Langford-Sadre had produced a well constructed thesis, which he eagerly had accepted and stamped with his own seal - Soon there an ordination would take place. An ordination all would be welcome to observe, to learn more His followers.
