Disinheritance and Disownment Bill, 359 ES

Introduced in the Duma.

An act to amend current laws regarding  Disinheritance and Disownment.

INTRODUCTION

This bill seeks to amend our current laws on Disinheritance and Disownment. This will create a legal difference between the two, which there is currently an absence of.

I. Necessary Definitions

  • Disinheritance: To disinherit someone, removing their right to any succession, whether it be peerage or otherwise.
  • Disownment: To disown someone, removing them from your family as a whole.

II. Amendments

  • Section 705: Disinheritance shall be changed into 705: Disinheritance and Disownment and shall state the following:

705: Disinheritance and Disownment

     705.01: The titleholder of each noble peerage may disinherit a member of the household, with Crown approval;

            705.011: The titleholder must have valid reasoning for disinheritance, and 'valid reasoning' shall be judged by the Crown, when they are reviewing the case for disinheritance;

            705.012: The disinherited party is still to be considered nobility if they were previously, and will continue to bear their surname;

     706.02: The titleholder of each noble peerage may disown a member of the household, with Crown approval;

            706.021: The titleholder must have valid reasoning for disownment, and 'valid reasoning' shall be judged by the Crown, when they are reviewing the case for disownment;

            706.022: The disowned party is no longer to be considered nobility if they were previously, or bear their surname.
