THE PRINCE-ARCHDIOCESE OF ALBAROSA

CARDINALIS DI DOLA

INTRODUCTION

Albarosa: The largest, unmistakably diverse, & most likely the most notorious of Diocese within the Church of Canon. As originating from the wheat fields of Kaedrin during the later quarter of the 1700’s, standing as the one of the most influential assemblies within modern Church history. Albarosa is primarily known for their rich culture & borders spanning across Imperial territory & further, housing a variety of cultures ranging from the pious Hyspians, aristocratic Rhoswenii, intellectual Adunians to the hardy Heussandrate, the Imperial iron-clad Sedanian knights of Canon, & the fashionable Illatians. The common Albarosan Cleric surrounds themselves in luxure & comfort brought upon from the aforementioned diversity spanning across the Prince-Archdiocese’s borders, clothed in red robes & pompous aesthetics - after all: Albarosa as a whole rivals that of the pleasures of Varoche Palace or the Novellen, coined by late Cardinal Laurence Pruvia-Albarosa himself as the “Gleaming Jewel of Canon”.

In this document you will find everything pertaining to the Princely-Archdiocese, surrounding its History, Culture, Territories, & much more, published for the reason of informing those of the Cloth to the devouted masses in earnest - straight from the desk of Arch-Chancellor Cr. Pelagius himself.

FOUNDATION

The Archdiocese of Albarosa was created by his Eminence, Laurence Pruvia-Albarosa (Now late reigning Pontiff, his Holiness, OWYN III) during the 1760’s in the land of Ves, consisting of primarily Rhoswenii families & houses, a product of being founded within Kaedrin. Named in High Imperial after the White Rose: once a source for national pride in Oren, but now hidden away due to liberal sentiments.

The popularization of clergy in Kaedrin happened because of the Carnatians, a madyaric cultural group that became literate through ecclesiastical education within the Bishopric of Ves. There, figures such as Cardinals Erasmus, Amadeus & Krisztián would renew Owynist thought and normalize it in Kaedrin.

The early Albarosans gained a sizable amount of both influence & power in Kaedrin, allowing for wealth to be a primary focus within the common Albarosan Clergymen’s interests, wine & exotic foods flowing from tables as a product of such ventures. Despite their extravaganza, the Albarosans were theological purists along the lines of Owynism: being vehement opponents to certain liberal & secular elements that became popularized in these decades. At their height, the Albarosans controlled the government of Governor-General Richard Helvets.

WHERE IT IS NOW

The Kaedrini state collapsed to an Adunian diaspora due to the Orenian Emperor Joseph II commissioning the late Commonwealth Chairman to be deposed, disregarding the Albarosan network within Kaedrin & territories encompassing it: However. Around the year of Eighteenhundred, Cardinal Laurence Pruvia incited a sizable number of missions to the newly founded state of Hyspia, involving his interest towards both the peoples & cultures of the kingdom. The primary missionaries he bestowed upon the Hyspians were from Haenseti & Jorenus, due to the Reinmarian Clergyman Adelric Barclay discovering the Hyspian peoples at first. The Missions were led by the honourable Ailred Cardinal Reinmar & Adelric Episcopus Reinmar, being that Laurence formed a newly found friendship with both the Reinmar Dioceses due to his previous intimate friendship with Anton Cardinal Jorenus.

After around one year of inquiry amongst the Mission, the Canonist Church established a fine amount of influence within Hyspia. By that time, the Prince-Archbishop would be elected to the Pontificate, leaving the Prince-Archbishopric to his Vicar: Pelagius of Santegia. His cultural similarity with the Hyspians allowed for a quick integration of the new Bishopric of Hyspia under Albarosa.

Due to the dissolution of Kaedrin, the Prince-Archbishopric of Albarosa would be repurposed into being the shepherd of many Dioceses outside of Providence: making it one of the three permanent dioceses of the Holy Mother Church in 1804.

The Prince-Archbishopric of Albarosa now consists of:

The Diocese of Rochefort, overseeing the Adunian diaspora into Redenford proper.

The Diocese of Cordobe, overseeing the Hyspians in Osanora & Eastcliffe.

The Diocese of Nescia, overseeing the City of Sutica, & further, Cordobe.

The Diocese of Gottsgrenze, overseeing the Municipality of Esbec.

The Diocese of Ponce, overseeing the Orenian Estate of Sedan.

His Eminence, Vice-Chancellor Cardinal Pelagius-Albarosa

The year is 1803, Laurence Pruvia, previous Cardinal & figurehead of Albarosa; is enthroned & elected as the Papal Pontiff reigning after the death of late Pontiff James II. Taking his place as Cardinal Albarosa during this time is reverend Pelagius, the Santegian cleric mentioned above, commissioned personally by Owyn III into the Position due to his promising advents within the Church. As of the current reign of Jude II, Cardinal Pelagius was issued as Vice-Chancellor of the Church of Canon, & is the ongoing figurehead of the Albarosan Diocese, alongside with being the Prince Archbishop of Albarsa since 1803, both reforming & administrating the Diocese in earnest.

The previous culture of Albarosa brought upon Laurence Pruvia during the later 18th Century was very much in a way similar to that of the current. Late Cultures of Albarosa had a mighty emphasis on the enjoyment of worldly pleasure alongside with loyalist viewpoints amongst Imperial affairs, heavily decorated Basilicas & Chapels with flamboyant colour schemes would scatter around Albarosan territory such as Kaedrin. Within these structures would hold vast amounts of entertainment items & wine, creating an agenda of sociability & jubilant celebration, similar to that of the Orenian Palaces of Varoche or Novellen. Rhoswenii men garbed in bright red attire raising glasses to their Empire, with it being taking place amongst Kaedrin, most of these Clerical individuals would hold Everardine political views, bestowing it onto Imperial political endeavor.

With the ascension to Cardinalis in reaction to the enthronement of Owyn II, stated above; Cardinal Pelagius took to heart the current cultural situational edicts amongst the Diocese, taking interest into its culture of delightful entertainment amongst a clerical sense, something the Prince-Archbishop would expand upon in later years. The year is 1793, Pelagius was but a simple missionary taking part in the conversion of Norlanders from the Red Faith to the rightful creed of Canonism, following years of doing so the Monk decides to follow through on a month or two of recess within the Savinian Court, being that Pelagius’s place of birth. Whilst doing so, the Cleric stumbled upon a beautiful rose, similar to that of the Albarosose, though hailing from Savoyardic territorial plains amongst the city of Torelli surrounded by Aeldin, somewhat imported from then onto these Savinian Court-Gardens. The sight of this rose brought fourth an incitement of inspiration to Pelagius. Seizing the rose with a sense of joy, he named it the “Dolorose”, a humble nod to that of the Albarose due to his affinity with the Diocese under Laurence, alongside with Dolorosa meaning “Sorrowful Mother” in both Illatian & High Imperial, hinting to that of Saint Julia, self proclaimed Patron Saint of Pelagius.

Dolorosan Cockatoos

Under Cardinal Pelagius, the Diocese of Albarosa succeeded in cultural retinue & reform, implementing his Santegian background onto the previously Rhoswenii Archbishopric into a more, exotic & tasteful endeavour, taking inspirational elements from Illatian, Savoyardic, Savinian, Hyspian, & even Qalesheen courts to create a vibrant & exotic culture surrounding Albarosa. Tropic & almost alien fowls fly around Clerical Courts under Pelagius, decorated with vibrant colour schemes & architectural implementation, grapes & flowers formulate on the decorated walls of paintings of Woman & Aenguls: this is the Dolorose Culture, a Clerical philosophy of the joys of the world & its wonderful exotic pleasures.

DOLOROSE SYMBOLISM

I. The Parrot

The Parrot, otherwise known as the Lorito in native Hyspian common. This bird derives & hints towards the vibrant culture of Dolorosa, with its colourful arrays of wings & jubilant variants, it perfectly symbolises an almost Exotic aesthetical mentality amongst the Diocese.

II. The Dolorose

The Dolorose, & or La Doloroza in Illatian. The flora symbolises the remembrance of heritage bestowed upon by the Diocese’s current figurehead, being of noble Santegian birth. It correlates relishing other cultural ties similar to that of the Santegians aswell; Such as the Hyspians, Illatians, & Savoyards.

III. Grapes

Similar to that of the Parrot mentioned above, the Grapes hint towards a vibrant taste within Dolorosan Cuisine, giving the connoisseur a sense of both joy & pleasing expression forwarded to the gustatory.

IV. The Virgin

Commonly depicted as a youthful Hyspian Woman adored in loose purple garments & pompous black hair, the Virgin symbolises the artistic interest in feminine beauty by both Dolorosan artists & Clergymen. The Virgin is aswell hinting towards Saint Julia & her perfection, stated above as Cardinal Pelagius’s Patron Saint. The reasoning behind her being known as the Virgin serves as a reminder towards Albarosan Clergymen to control their.. Mental lusts towards worldly pleasures such as women, however the Dolorosan Culture ever so more touches upon the question of seeking slight enjoyment of the gifts given within societies.

V. Wine

A product & hinting towards the both Parrot & Grapes, Wine symbolizes the universal interest in enjoyment of worldly products such as endorsed grape, creating a positive atmosphere in most Dolorosan & Albarosan Courts. Furthermore, this tradition was carried on by Pelagius in reaction to that of Albarosa’s wine culture.

VI. The Pig

Deriving & a nod towards coastal pig populations emerging near Osanora due to Hyspian settlers, the Pig (or; El Puerco in Hyspian/Santegian) is Pelagius’s personal favourite item of Dolorosan philosophy. The Pig represents high societal endeavors & its problems, pertaining primarily to Pelagius’s eating & drinking habits. The pig does not think before eating, for it simply indulges, a stark remark mirroring Dolorosan Court culture’s indulgence in Exotic pleasures. Alongside with this, the pig serves as an almost nostalgic touch to the Diocese for most of the Dolorosan Clergymen look back on eating fine HAMON in Hyspian mess houses.

An Illatian man in Order Attire.

The Order of Saint Humbert was founded in 1804 in reaction to the schismatic Red Hyspian’s conversion to the Red Faith, by his Eminence; Cardinal Pelagius-Albarosa, in earnest to better congregate the lost White Hyspians (Canonist Hyspians) from the devilish Norlander threat. Inspired by the strength of Saint Humbert de Bar, the Albarosan Prince-Archbishop put a great emphasis on his miracles, the colossus Savoyard stands in defiance to a Schism caused by the death of Daniel I, similar to the late schism against Owyn III. The order is primarily an ethnical grouping of various foriegn cultures united under one canonist faith, such as Illatians, Santegians, Hyspians, etcetera., recognized by the holdings of both Albarosa & the Dolorose Court Culture.

The primary symbol of the Order of Saint Humbert is the “Cruzado”, a red cross holding four clam shells, representing the almost lost White Hyspians in their journey in search of a new homeland, tipped off with an three-pointed fleur design, furthermore besides the colours of the Bishopric of Hyspia; Blue, Red, & Yellow. The Cruzado is unofficially Pelagius’s representation of Saint Humbert’s strength, being that the Cruzado is an old Santegian ideogram representing both cunning & honour, alongside with being an item of interest within Pelagius’s childhood, harkening back to his curiosity featuring the Canonist Faith throughout religious texts in early years.

Order Attire: The general uniform of the order is very much similar to that of the Owynist Uniform, garbed in full fine red hues robed around their long cloaks, featuring various delicate Hyspian designs sewed upon its textile bottom. Topped off by a stout Illatian Cap, sprouting from both sides of the head are cloth with signs of the cross at it’s tip. Most ordermen clerics would as well feature a Cruzado & or a Lorriance Cross on their necks as representation of their devotion towards GOD & his beautified.

OWYNISM

The Rite of the Albarosan

dPdVCgeuFdbnLltNEBM94kykgeqRRSKZbIi4HY6a

“What have we forgotten? What have we abandoned due to the perversions of modernism thrown upon us? We have abandoned the modus operandi of our human soul, our manifested destiny upon this temporal plane: to live a pure life, supreme above all, only under God and His Prophet Ex. Owyn.”

-Laurence Pruvia Albarosa

Beyond it being an interpretation of Canonism, Owynism is strongly influenced by the temporal affairs surrounding the Order of the White Rose up until the modern Commonwealth of Kaedrin. While Peter Chivay was fulfilling the will of God, his Order of the White Rose and its successor Kingdom dealt with intensive settling policies and a fight for humanity’s supremacy against Malinor.

Common Owynist belief is centered around the magnificence of God and his chosen Prophets and Saints, specifically the Exalted Owyn. It is because of this that the clergy of Owynism take great care to establish themselves as wealthy and charitable. The attraction of wealth is parallel to the attraction of faith, and it shall be emulated among Owynist clergy. Consuming of only red wine and wearing eloquent robes are just two staples of an opulent and dedicated Owynist clergyman.

It is a common practice among Owynist artists and chroniclers to picture or describe past clergymen and statesmen in a more opulent and extravagant way than they actually were: the most famous example being Peter Chivay, a man that had long rejected unnecessary extravaganza, but is yet pictured with elaborate crowns and decor in his paintings.

The politics of those eras, including the consciousness of Kaedreni society and the Rhoswenii lineages that persisted, mixed their theological interpretation with their temporal worldview. Although the Holy Scrolls do not instruct the Owynist to convert or otherwise discard the non-humans: the Owynists, with their ancestors doing so for centuries, feel the inclination regardless. Even though most representatives of the faith do not harbour hostilities towards non-Human presence in the Empire: Owynists, considering their historical context, do. It is this state of affairs that makes it hard to separate the temporal worldviews shaped by history, and the Owynist tenets shaped by the Holy Scrolls and Ex. Owyn himself.

Owynists Clerics involving themselves in local banter within the Varoche Palace, c.1789

The settling of the new Kaedrin revived the old context from the White Rose Era: with the Kaedreni now forced to make an unknown terrain their home, and endure all sorts of hardships for their survival, once more. In their quest to do successfully: they look back upon their ancestors, who found their will to persist through their Owynist beliefs. These circumstances lead Owynism to be an ecclesiastical interpretation, a political worldview and a set of social values simultaneously.

This is not necessarily a new development however, as Owynism was throughout its existence politically interwoven with the Commonwealth of Kaedrin. Kaedreni statesmen, Rhoswenii lineages and successive Kaedreni nations were the sole promulgators and custodians of the Owynist faith: consolidating the fluid existence of a belief and ideology within the confines of a political and cultural identity known as Kaedrin.

Rhowswenii Clergymen in discussion about Political Endeavors in Redenford, c. 1794

Political ideas such as the self-determination of the citizen, romanticization of an agrarian lifestyle and the prioritizing of racial purity are put under the moniker of ‘Owynism’, even though none are inherent Canonist doctrines. It is through these developments that Owynism was used as an oddly placed political label, and Owynism as a cultural stream of Canonism blur. What is strictly political and cultural, but find itself declared as ‘Owynism’ regardless, are called ‘Cultural tenets’.

These cultural tenets are strictly not Church doctrine: as they merely came to be through their prominence within Kaedreni culture. That these cultural tenets are de facto universal among Owynists is, in the eyes of the ecclesiastical powers, irrelevant, and are not protected or even shunned by contemporary clergy.

ALBAROSAN SAINTS

St. Peter of Gaekrin was the founding father of the Order of the White Rose, its successor state of Kaedrin & the first Emperor of the Imperial Chivay Dynasty. His leadership and cultural magnificence greatly defines the worldview of the Albarosan clergy today, as he remains their icon of an exemplar human.

St. Thomas of Gaekrin was the co-founder of the Order of the White Rose & second Emperor of the Imperial Chivay dynasty. His crusades against Elves and the teachings that stem from that are the basis of the Humanity First doctrine to Canonism from the Albarosan clergy.

St. Lucien of Ulmsbottom was another co-founder of the Order of the White Rose & the architect behind a great restoration of the faith & Holy Mother Church. His act of revitalizing Canonism to its peak of strength serves as inspiration, if not the motivation, for the mildly reformist attitudes within the Archdiocese.

St. Michel of Cordobe was the foremost leader of Everard II’s Inquisition, hailing from a small island off the coast of Couentre. He is famous for his work in opposition to the Turnbull heretics and pagans in the  time of the Sixth Empire, the militant model of what we consider the Auditor of the Tribunal today. He serves as a cultural representative of Hyspian Canonists.

St. Edmond of Lachsin was a soldier of the Order of the White Rose, and is considered the founding father of the first Auverginian community, being the culturally representative saint for them.

St. Humbert of Savoy was a headstrong cleric born of noble de Bar heritage, rising through the ranks within the Church & eventually fitting the position of Vice-Chancellor, known for his scholarly inquiries & diligent writings for the Canon. The Pontiff in the period, the Owynist Daniel I was out on pilgrimage - however his enemies declared Schism, thus as Vice-Chancellor in Daniel’s absence, Humbert stepped in defense of the Pontificate, rallying the major Canonist powers in resistince to the Schismatics. These impactful & influencial actions made him known as the Colossus. St. Humbert is one of the Patron Saints of Cardinal Pelagius.

St. Julia of Paradisus was the wife of Horen, staunchly loyal to her Family & the Faith of Canon. Known for the warding off of an Iblesse from her foundational household, avoid from that of sin & temptation - aiding blessed Horen in consolidating their family’s position in the seven skies. Saint Julia is the personally Patron Saints of Cardinal Pelagius & the Dolorosan Culture.

DIOCESE UNDER ALBAROSA

The Prince-Archdiocese of Albarosa most recently undergone a cultural reformation due to the dissolution of Rhoswenii Clergymen occupying the Diocese of Kaedrin by Emperor Joseph II. The Prince-Archbishopric, under the influence of his Late Holiness, Owyn III; is extremely diverse with a variety of Human ethnicities around the continent of Alamaris, consisting of Illatians, Hyspians, Heussians, Adunians, Rhoswenii, Renatians, Santegians, Reinmarians, & many more - united under the flock of Godani & his blessed Albarose.

INTRODUCTION

Enter the reign of late Pontiff, James II; establishing the Bishopric of Hyspia by the proposition of Cardinalis Laurence Pruvia. The Pontiff commissioned that of Pelagius the de Savin to preside over the Hyspian flock due to his both interest of the peoples, alongside with his Santegian heritage ties, being that the cultural influxumation of Hypsia shares similarities to the Santegian Kingdoms of olden decades ago.

Inhabiting the regions surrounding Sutica, the Hyspians were an ethnic minority-living amongst the Barony of Osanora-another vassal state of Sutica, holding lineage to Hyspian people groups from ages ago. As of current, the Bishopric is under the holiest eyes of reverend Francisco of Hyspia, previously administered by Pelagius of Savinia, now Cardinal Albarosa-by the commission of his late Eminence, Cardinal Laurence Pruvia, before changing the name of the Diocese to Cordobe, tagged after the Hyspian’s patron Saint; St. Micheal of Cordobe.

Under both the Diocese of Albarosa, & Bishop Javier-Cordobe, however previously administrated by late Bishop Francisco Cordobe - Cordobe encompasses that of the territories belonging to Hyspia, primarily Cartagena, Osanora, & all further settlements of similar allegiance. Beautiful rolling hills with the quaint smell of wine row the Bishopric, indulging in the Dolorosan lifestyle; Holy Hyspian flocks enjoying the fruits of Julia under Godani’s influence.

Reverend Bishop Javier-Cordobe of Hyspia

FOUNDING PARADISE

The founding of the Bishopric begins with a view of the Hyspian peoples. Originally hailing from the mountains of the west within the realm of Arcas, they presided over a small remote kingdom untouched from the rest of Human society-until migrating to Alamaris during the time of Inferni invasions attacking the continent. The general Hyspian ethnicity emerged from Heartlander & Farfolk settlers colonizing the aforementioned mountain regions west of the Arcas Cloud-temple, intermixing with native populations of solitary Wood Elves that happened to inhabit the territories. With this mingling of two races, the general culture of Hyspia undergone a society change somewhat, adopting Malin traditions in their art, music, & overall folk community-which is still prominent today.

With the migration of Hyspians to Alamaris during the late 18th century, the folk settled near the city of Osanora, being that under Sutican occupation. This Hyspian minority suppressed by the Heretic Baron of Osanora due to his ‘reformed Canonist’ views, the Hyspians underwent a period of conversion however, taking interest in solid & true Canonist virtues due to the blessed Cardinal Ailred of Reinmar sending missionaries of his diocese to the peoples of Hyspia under Cardinal Laurence-Albarosa’s commission in response to his newly found interest in both Hyspian culture & women.

It was the Church of Canon who were the primary supporters of the Hyspian peoples, & perhaps their only hope in survival, being that the Hyspians held a tight bond with the Church due to this. Enter the year of 1800, after small pieces of negotiation discussed with the Sutican Trade-Prince; Cardinal Laurence-Pruvia-Albarosa commissioned a trusted courtier of his, Fr. Pelagius of Savinia, as the first Bishop of Hyspia, establishing the Bishopric of Hyspia in the year 1800-due to his proven loyalty to the church & due to his cultural ties with Santegia, as stated above many times over, the societal & social structure is very much similar to that of Savinia & Santegian kingdoms of olden eras.

Hyspian Nuns under Francisco Cordobe

Internal & interior aid from the Church greatly improved the social situation of the Hyspian flock, with the help of both Reinmarian & Albarosan Clergymen, alongside Bishop Pelagius’s reforms to the Hyspian clerical endeavors, creating a fine community of Hyspian clergymen to fit the newly found holy halls of Osanora. Finally, after petitioning the Pontiff at the time; Blessed James II to then declare Hyspia & those surrounding an official Diocese under Albarosa-headed by the ambitious Bishop Pelagius & company.

After the ascension to late & scandalous Pontiff, Owyn III, previously known by Laurence Pruvia, as stated above-then Bishop of Hyspia, Pelagius de Savin; was given the position of Cardinalis & title of Prince-Archbishop of Albarosa, formerly Cardinal Laurence Pruvia’s Archdiocese, within Owyn III’s Petarchy. With it then, Francisco of Hyspia, Pelagius’s Vicar during his time administrating the Bishopric, was ascended to the Bishop of Hyspia, then renamed to Cordobe as recognition to Hyspia’s patron saint; St. Micheal of Cordobe.

As of current; the Hyspian Peoples alongside with territories surrounding the Bishopric of Cordobe enjoy a lifestyle of piety & exquisite culture, all under the Mitre of Horen’s light & administered by Javier Cordobe - under the earnest of the Albarosan Diocese.

A Painting featuring Hyspian Culture

CULTURE

As stated above numerous times before, the inhabitants of the Bishopric of Cordobe, primarily Hyspians, enjoy a rich & fascinating culture based upon uplifting & passionate ideals, connoting to the Dolorosan Lifestyle somewhat. Primarily developed by the aforementioned Historical context of Hyspian people groups, alongside with Pelagius’s court reforms amongst his diocese.

The common Hyspian unwillingly though jubilantly surrounds themselves in large whitewashed villa’s cloaked by the sun, caressed by beautiful flora reflected onto their seaside residences. Interiors of the Hyspian households are filled with colourful paintings, parrots, fine meals, & exotic endeavours as a product of the Hyspian’s revolvement of the enjoyment of life given to them by the Beautified. The streets of both Osanora, Cartagena, & other Hyspian cities stream with silken dresses, mares, fine-clothed pedestrians, & of course, fine drinks such as Tequilla & Wine.

The Hyspians are not only rich in Aesthetic & Textile ventures, for within the Streets of their radiant residences is a wonderful culture of Music & Dance, progressed by the aforementioned Wood-Malin population of early foundational periods of Hyspian History, incorporating their artistic societal characteristics into Hyspian Traditions. This could still be seen today, with the likes of young folk performing a dance known as the “BAILE DE TROLEO” within the colourful streets of Osanora & Cartagena, involving rapid foot movements in jubilant formations, most often done with a couple of two. These dances would as well be accompanied by a group of Musicians orchestrating numerous songs within the Hyspian-Originated style of “Cumbacha”-a musical genre involving various percussion instruments & melodies formulated within a 2/2 beat, most often then not, lyrics containing Hyspian Folklore or exotic faculties of living within this coastal & carefree society.

The common Hyspian Beauty outside of a Dolorosan household, c. 1806

This jubilant Hyspian culture caught on with Cardinal Pelagius-Albarosa, formerly administrating the peoples directly during his time as Bishop, as stated above. With that being said, the Prince-Archbishop wrote this article within his public diary with the following text on the Hyspian peoples;

“To the Hyspian flock I owe nothing more than my personal gratitude, forever long I have been intoxicated with Tequilla & Margaritas for ages. I wander around your colourful streets alongside with my ounterage - magnificent silks & wonderful music filling my ears & eyes, with the smell of freshly baked Tapas & delicious Jamóne. At times I come across a beautiful madame.. It is utter fact that GOD himself blessed your women with their hypnotizing curved stalk & twinkling eyes, I cannot tell if whether or not they are Aenguls sent down from heaven or devilish fiend originating the depths of hell to woe men such as I: either way I could not care less.. Hyspian women are simply legendary.”

-Cardinal Pelagius, 1803

By the Commision of his late Pontiff, Owyn III, AND OR, Laurence Pruvia; the Santegian Saint; Saint Micheal of Cordobe, otherwise known as “Santo Miguel de Cordoba” in Hyspian, was beautified as the Patron Saint of Hyspian peoples alongside with the newly formulated Diocese of Cordobe.

The story of this Saint began with the birth of Miguel Cortez, a young faithful son of a newly  converted Cordobanese family, however, at an early age, he & his family, alongside with the rest of the inhabitants of the Island were exiled by marauding Pagans. The Cordobans, led by Miguel’s uncle, the Blessed Rapheal of Cordobe; set sail across the sea of Vailor, before landing at the Savoyardic settlement of Luciensport, a known Canonist vassal housing zealous followers of Pontiffs & Holy Scrolls. The Pontiff at the time, Everard II, greeted them with honours & in return, the Cordobanese (Along with young Miguel) aided the Pope with developing Luciensport into a successful Papal holding.

Once of maturity, & with the aid of his aforementioned zealous uncle, Miguel founded the Inquisitorial Tribunal, which infact still holds true as of today due to the actions of Cardinal Pelagius during the early 1800’s. The Inquisitorial Tribunal was formulating in reactionary action towards heretical forces at the time, such as the Qalesheen, Dwarves, & Xanist; commencing combat towards the Infidels via trials & speculation, giving them the name Inquisitors, primarily consisting of Santegians & Cordobanese - once then removing such heretics from Human lands.

The key reasoning for Saint Micheal to be Beautified as both the patron Saint of Cordobe & Nescia was due to the attributes the Saint was associated with, Exiles, Passion, Dutiful service, alongside with the fact that Miguel came from Cordoban Heritage, sharing similar cultural ties to the Hyspians. The Hyspian peoples were greatly indulging in clerical works, reciting Passion into their service towards the church, hence Passion & Dutiful Service conotating to Saint Micheal, & Exile due to their displacement & diaspora during the time of the Schismatic period between the Red & White Hyspians, one side converting to the Red Faith & the other lodging with the Canonist State.

INTRODUCTION

The Diocese of Ponce, one of the newest Albarosan Territories, encompassing the Orenian Estate to the West of Providence, being that of Sedan. Commissioned by Cardinal Pelagius-Albarosa & Father Ferdinand Ponce during the early 1800’s, with it being by the figure of High Pontiff Jude II whom signed off on the proposition of the Diocese, being under Albarosa due to its current standing in Orenian Territories.

Ponce, & further; Sedan, is home to skilled swordsmen, most often than not coined by Orenians as “The Goats of Sedan” - all administered by the ambitious wigged cleric known as Reverend Ferdinand de Joannes, belonging to a rigorous Family sharing hundreds of years with the Canonist Church. The Diocese of Ponce governs all territories under Oren from the West of Providence, hosting a wide array of Heartlandish institutions & theology into their Bishopric.

CULTURE

The Culture of Ponce is primarily Heartlander due to their vicinity with Oren, although adopting studious amounts of Albarosan & Kaedrini culture within their Courts due to belonging to the Diocese of Albarosa. The common Sedani would most often then not be seen in Imperial clothing, enjoying wine & festivities throughout the year whilst enduring amongst frequent Aristocratic business or political endeavour as the regular Heartlander would configure.

As for the Clergy of Ponce, stated above; sizable amounts of Albarosan Culture inspired much of Sedani Clerical trends, adorning their estates with Golden lining, white walls, & Dolorosan touch ups, comparable to that of the Novellen or the Varoche. Most Clergymen would comfort themselves with the classic Albarosan Red Robes, & perhaps a wig, enjoying ofcourse, Wine & Traditionalist ideals, surrounding themselves with Women in Regency outfits & Wigged Imperial Men alongside with perhaps a cup of tea; however with a Centred Orenian twist due to, as stated above, their observations adjacent to that of Providence & Mainland Orenian customs.

A Painting depicting St. Alexander, Date Unknown.

St. Alexander, the Flame of Imperials, administer of those belonging to the Heartlander Ethnicity, Imperial Democratic Institutions, the impoverished, & lovers; chosen directly by the Sedani Leadership & Bishop Ferdinand’s upheaval, Saint Alexander was commissioned as the Patron Saint of Ponce due to his affiliation with Imperialized Heartlanders & his connection to the ancestral ties with that of the Orenian Empire.

Saint Alexander was born Alexander Frederick Horen during the Johannian era in Atlas, the Prince to the Empire of Man, a bright & diligent child in infancy, proven to sanction monumental acts for his people & Kingdom future in life. During his years as a young boy, St. Alexander found himself in the company by Raevir Cossacks within the Republic of Holm, adopting values from the Raev such as Compassion & Democratic principles, which would reflect into his later life. Following this turn of events, young Alexander in his prime years participated in the Vaeyl conflicts, events connoting to the notion of spreading Canonism to the more exotic reaches of Atlas, with that the young Saint gained a great respect for Canonist doctrine & would begin to put an emphasis on such throughout his life. Eventually, Alexander developed into the Imperial Ranks & was elected as Lord Privy Seal to that of Aurelius I, with that forming the first Imperial Parliament - allowing for the Canonist Church to have a foothold within the creation of the upcoming successor to the Empire of Man.

It was in the Imperial Courts inwhich the Saint’s Sister, Princess Amelia of the Empire of Man; stumbled upon Alexander whispering to a lit candle, startled, he accidentally burnt his eye, causing physicians to remove it in the event of it being infected. The next week, the Prince would then retire all of his material wealth, renouncing his birthright & the Principality of Alstion, in earnest to take to cloth & serve as a Monastic preacher within the Earldom of Nordengrad. A few years later, Alexander would serve within the Bishopric of Cyrilsburg - well known to many as the Captain of the Palpatine Guard. It is said by he himself at an extremely eldered age, reported: years ago, when St. Alexander whispered to a burnt candle, he was actually speaking through God with the likes of the flame, from the seven skies, he commanded him to renounce all of his wealth & seek shelter in the Church’s service, inwhich he did.

Withered & frail, during Alexander’s last years, he was elected into a seat within the Imperial Senate due to his reputation & mass respect towards him throughout the Empire, creating legislature formulating an emphasis on Church Affairs & preserving the faith within Oren, he being one of the reasons of as to why the Church is still prominent in the modern day. Dying a legend, Alexander wed the late Empress Anne during her early years to Joseph de Sarkozy: then initiating the creation of the Novellen Dynasty. Not only this, however, though the Saint infamously had six wives throughout his life, alongside with being known to find solidarity with the people in the streets of Helena, as an Beggar of sorts. With that, Alexander was beautified in 1768 by James II within the “Thirteenth Golden Bull of Helena” due to his fundamental contributions to Church History, becoming the Patron Saint of Imperials, Lovers, the regular Populace, & Democratic institutions within the Empire - His primary symbol being the Mural Crown.

INTRODUCTION

The Diocese of Gottsegrenze, a lesser known yet prominent territory within the Archdiocese of Albarosa; encompassing the settlement of Esbec & the regions surrounding it within Imperial Borders. The Diocese of Gottsegrenze was established during the reign of Late High Pontiff Owyn III, an Orenian Vassalstate previously avoid of church authority, this changed however after the Pontiff’s clerical resumption within Esbec via Reinmarian Missionaries sent to the lands, greatly increasing the Mother Church’s authority throughout the region as seen today.

AS of the current, with the resolution of Owyn III & his commissioning of the Heussandrate Cleric known as Guy de Soissons to the position of Bishop of Grottensegrenze, and the election of High Pontiff Jude II, all throughout the early 1800s - Esbec & the Albarosan authority clerically administrating the regions enjoy an incredibly monotonous yet comfortable orientation in Church history, the common folk enduring loyal piety & memories of the faith - in which is greatly smiled upon by most observant Clergy.

CULTURE AND HISTORY
The Diocese of Gottegrenze encompassing the region & settlement of Esbec, a state far beyond the borders of Imperial acknowledgement, deep in pine’d forests & high green hills: with that, the vassal state houses an extremely hardy & pious cultural imagulation known as the Heussandrate. The Heussandrate are a distinct branch of Waldenians that emerged of prominence during the 1770’s, sprouting as a group of black-clad riders & footmen seeking mercenary work, known as the “Heussen Regiment” primarily fighting under the Kaedrini alongside with nobitably enacting conflicts with Elves & Norlanders during this period.

Eventually, this mercenary regiment of Heussen dissolved after the Orenian - Sutican war of the 1780’s, with most seeking work in Imperial governance & or migrating to the red city of Owynsburg. Many Heussen enjoyed their time within Kaedrin, borrowing Kaedrini values & views, implementing it into some Cultural aspects of the common Heussan lifestyle. After a relatively short amount of time, the Heussandrate finally founded their own state; known as “Esbec” - a murky city within the swamps of Central Arcas, cross roads to both Haense & Helena at the time.

The Streets of Esbec, c. 1799

With the dissolution of the Helvetii Ministry surrounding Kaedrin, & further the ascension of Joseph II to the crown of Orenian Emperor, who had slight interests in strengthening Imperial ties with the Esbec & Heussendrate populations to notable status: Joseph II established an Orenian Vassalstate onpar to that of Esbec, making the wooden city a noble realm within the Empire. Large amounts of both Waldenians & Heussandrate previously living in Kaedrin & or Providence then migrated to the reformed Esbec, eventually this all caught the attention of the Canonist Church, primarily the Albarosan Archdiocese due to their history with the Heussens - even going as far as twiddling with the idea of formulating Esbec into the Capital of the Princely-Archdiocese.

Reinmarian & Albarosan Missionaries landing in Esbec, c. 1804

As of today, due to the recent Reinmarian Missions commissioned by Owyn II, the Canonist Church established a foothold on Esbec, founding the Diocese of Gottsegrenze & appointing Guy de Soissons as Bishop of Gottsegrenze & all territories surrounding it, under the clerical authority of Albaorsa during the early impactful 1800s. With that; The common Heussendrate & or Subjects of Esbec’s vassalage are stout & venturous Canonist flocks, finding joy in both scripture alongside with swordsmanship practices throughout the region. The Diocese currently is undergoing a slight reformation in Clerical Activity due to the likes of Cardinal Pelagius’s sudden interest in the Diocese & further the revival of Albarosan prominence.

St. Henrik, the Wooden Scales of Alban, Patron Saint of Commoners, Justiciator Action, & Fatherhood. By the commission of Cardinal Pelagius at first sight within the creation of the Diocese, with their lacking of a Patron; Saint Henry Otto was beautified as the official Saint of Gottsegrenze due to his affiliations with Commonfolk & Justiciary properties, highly associating with the general population of Esbec & regions surrounding it.

This Haenser Saint was born Henry Otto Barnabov, diligent & wayward as a young man, he was known throughout his Household with his stunning abilities, aiding his Cousin, King Stephan - in the construction & establishment of the City of Alban - the predecessor of Haense. The City of Alban was created within the Snow Covered Realm of Tahn, undertaking as but a simple warfare encampment for his House.

As one of the founders of Alban, Henrik was entrusted by his kin as an Ambitious Nobleman, remaining Pious & devoted towards the Canonist Faith alongside with the benefit of his peoples. Henrik was widely known & well liked by the masses of Alban - working for equal progression for his newly created state in earnest, puting an end to the common noble corruption - hence why the Saint is the patron of Justice & Commoners, alongside with being known as “Henrik the Humble”.

INTRODUCTION

The Diocese of Rochefort - the practical originating factor in the founding of the Princely-Archdiocese of Albarosa: tracing it’s routes to the likes of Leopold Pruvia, Lajos Karoly, & Laurence Pruvia within this very settlement. During the reign of his late holiness, Owyn III - due to the expansion of Albarosa under Cardinal Pelagius, Owyn established the Diocese of Rochefort (Rochefort being the Imperial title belonging to the Kaedrini region), home & centre to classic Albarosan court culture & delights - holding true to tradition pertaining to primarily zealous piety & conservatism.

This mentality seeps through most layers of Kaedreni life: influencing the sermons of its priests, the parenting of its elderly and the type of politics its bureaucrats adhere to. When a project fails, a political relationship goes sour or a betrayal has occurred: the Kaedreni remains unfazed. Whatever would follow after that tumbling, would be the best he could realistically get regardless.

Albarosan Clerics playing chess in the City of Redenford, c. 1809

CULTURE

Those belonging to the original cultural groups of Redenford before the “Adunian Diaspora” had a context to their intimate feeling of brotherhood, predating the lives of most of their ancestors. Whether it is from the founding of Kaedrin, where brothers in arms hoisted their first king upon their shields, the burning of Ves where citizens that had lost everything linked arms to rebuild their homeland, their months spend together on the ships before reaching Almaris or the building of their new home on these foreign lands: a people bound by their common culture and destiny, became a family that transcended their blood.

Kaedrin to this day harbours many different cultures: ranging from the old Aesterwaldians and Carnatians, to the newly settled Illatians and Imperials: each boasting different founding stories, histories and common pains. Despite that, their centuries of working in tandem and having each other’s backs cemented a social expectation in the Kaedreni society of today. A citizen being evicted is, to the normal Kaedreni, a brother losing his home. A neighbour suffering under a bad marriage, is to the bystander a sister in need. All lives, and its values and successes, are intimately interwoven in the general wellbeing and prosperity of all people. By surviving with all hands on deck, each individual hand becomes crucial and its continued well being something of relevance.

The members of the olde White Rose were not from a distinct people, culture or nation. The diverse membership of Owyn’s soldiers brought a variety of cultures to settle in Kaedrin time and time again: but it also establishes Rhoswenii lineages that are not inherently related through tongue, culture or history.

Kaedrini Men engaging in conversation, c. 1791

While the Helvets family may be the most traditionally Kaedrin, they share the label with the Savoyard Ashford cadets and even Aesterwaldian or Veszian houses such as Myre or de Reden. It creates a reality where an Illatian speaking citizen, talking to someone who speaks Aesterwaldian, are both considered integral and crucial to the Kaedreni people.

MODERN FOUNDATION

Kaedrin once existed as a Commonwealth stagnated by the confines of its olde glory and ancient institutions, established upon the ruins of many preceding cities and people that sought to ensure their existence before them. Today in Almaris, Kaedrin & further the territories of Rochefort exists as a realm of opportunity somewhat for the settlers who joined efforts to not only establish the new city of Redenford,  but to cultivate their destiny as a freefolk liberated from the horrors of urbanism and the established. In the Kaedrin of today, the people are free and their soil is bountiful: nowhere in the Empire can mankind return to its roots and most primitive of desires: to build, to overcome and to live in liberty.

There, on the frontiers of the Empire in the far south of their capital, do the Kaedreni continue to live. They live a humble and prosperous life: owning the land beneath their boots and the crops that grow upon it, a part of a people that recognizes their faces and warmly embraces them, breathing clean air and spared from the dirt of sin and extravagance. Whether it is the nobleman tied his lineage, the artisan doing honest work or the faithful in pursuit of God: all can find their destiny, and enjoy the fruits of our opportunity, on this fine frontier. Kaedrin is the land where it happens.

scaletowidth

The Redenford Frontier, c. 1800

However, with the ascension of Joseph II to the throne of Emperor in the year of 1800: one of his first acts within the position was to strip the title of chairman of Kaedrin from it’s figurehead at the time, Adrian Rochefort Helvets. This event made most of the Kaedrini Natives involved within the Leadership to renounce their positions in government, allowing for Adunian people groups to flood into the settlement of Redenford (Hence the “Adunian Diaspora” Laurence Pruvia-Albarosa coined), which still holds prominent today, Redenford & further Kaedrin are primarily Adunian in culture with aforementioned events, the shadow of Kaedrin’s past forever seems further away from the common folk.

St. Peter, Date Unknown.

Saint Peter I Chivay, the Flaming Rose of Kaedrin & Executor of his will, beautified as the Patron Saint of the Diocese of Rochefort directly by Cardinal Laurence Pruvia-Albarosa himself, due to his affiliation with the historical foundational periodic narratives of both Kaedrin & Owynism during its early years, establishing the Order of the White Rose with his kin, Thomas Chivay - & his patroning of Victories & the Kaedrini peoples.

The White Rose under St. Peter & St. Thomas Chivay would slay enemies to mankind, tormented and seduced by the sin of their peers. Slaying the Harrinite Rebellion, exterminating those in Crestfall and invading the den of sin known as Malinor. Wherever the tabards of the White Rose ventured, the scorching flames of Ex. Owyn pursued. Realms became purified as the natural order in GOD’s design was restored. No longer did the righteous had to navigate the filth of sewers of a once holy city, riding in plain sight as harbingers of purity.

From fulfilling their divine mission, came the Kingdom of Kaedrin. Where Peter Chivay ‘the eternal’ was elevated upon the shields of his brethren, crowned as the true king of a kingdom true to man. The salute of “Ave Chivay” became synonymous with praise for the quest that the Exalted Prophet of God had given them.  And while the Order had been disbanded in 1420, its quest lives on as the eternal flame of Kaedrin.

Father Gawain Briarwood sat at his desk as he read over Cardinal Pelagius' missive as he spoke to Olivier Renault. He admired the gorgeous Heraldic Arms produced for each and every diocese, and smiled upon seeing Rochefort.
