The Folly of Elvenesse

Recommended Posts

"Step back into the light, friends." A war-torn Lylianth Ithelanen murmurs, standing nowhere near a fireplace to resist her elven urge to burn parchment! Her partner lay dead, and yet she welcomed them.

Kairn looked out from the grizzly scene of the woods near Elvenesse, his lips contorted into a sneer. Vengeance would be had for the extrajudicial murder of his son. He finished honing his longsword upon a wet stone and called upon his Gods for aid - he would see to it that all those who had taken the life of his boy would meet a fate worse than death. His fingers clenched as a silver necklace dangled from his fingertips by narrow chains, and then proceeded to clasp it around his neck.

The Druid looked to the distance where a tree had begun to grow from the pit he had dug days earlier. A pit filled with the remains of insurrectionists from Elvenesse. From there, Brother Leatherback committed himself to growing the tree again, the organic thing mulching the dead bodies beneath it and entangling its roots with their burrowed cadavers like a foul snake.

To a father grieving,

There was nothing more sweet than revenge.

"Such is a shame to watch one's kin fall so far from grace. We will bring glory and pride to the name of Malin, as our father would have wanted." Remarks the Sovereign of Malinor before returning to the construction of Luminaire.

A soldier, eyes wroth in cruel nature, clenched about his pipe - emptying the contents unto the grasses beneath. It had been long enough; all he'd sought to bring to those who sought only to deny his God, and aid his enemies, would now come. Soon enough, his shovel would come to use.

"One has withdrawn from amongst the rank of the vermin; those few who reside within those walls who I trust must begone, lest they face what fate the knife-eared ilk will face. War comes; let the earth be rend asunder." muttered he, gripping at the shovel; work was to be done.

@MikoMonster

Hovered behind the armored widow, that familiar sage previewed the missive prior to hearing her full-hearted plea to the nonexistent bystanders, her kin. The man glanced to her then, after such a comment, taking a moment to finish reading the document's message before moving to sit near her.
"They say the pen is mightier than the sword," He began to utter as he did so, his figure relaxing against the spine of his chair. "I do nay know if that is true in this instance."

Farren stood tall as she read the message. Anger building up enough in her body that the blonde patches of skin against her dark grey body turned a deep hated red. "This city will burn, the silver skin has no right to call my homeland such. They will all die in the end due to whatever sorry excuse they have left for honor." The Mali'ker would spit at the ground below the message before walking off, her rage growing to great for the silver folk to handle.

"So when are we raiding Haelun'or?" said Fenneyr to himself from one of his multiple homes.

"Hm..." Alyssa Seregon said with a curious tone - but, after a couple of seconds of looking up and down on the words written down, she'd toss the notice into the flames. The mali'aheral seemed to simply not care of the affairs in Elvenesse. After she would toss the notice into the roaring flames, within her nice and cozy home, located in Karosgrad, she'd take a sip from her tea and then a bite of a random cookie from the array chocolate chip cookies on a plate which was place onto the side of her desk.

Celia'ii Siardarr would pace back and forth, reading over the missive carefully.. She clung to each word, and held the message close to her heart. A sense of pride filling her greatly as she finished reading. "Well Written, Cyrus.." She mumbled under her breath as ran through her thoughts on the future of Malinor, and the city being constructed. "There is so much beauty seen in Elvenesse, too bad those who defend the walls and their people do not meet the same standards."

"A folly indeed. May the children of Malin find a home in Malinor, thus that as it was before so too shall it be again, for Haelun'or seeks only that Elvenkind prosper under just rule. Not that of terrorists and degenerates."
