The Rules of Darts
Veritas, The Lumpy Pumpkin, Darts Guide

Written by Annabelle Kelmenour

A common tradition among any Brotherhood of Virtue meeting is to play a game of darts within the old guild hall’s tavern. With such being the case, it would be impossible to not have a dartboard within The Lumpy Pumpkin for the visitors and residents of Veritas to enjoy. Although the rules are simple, they vary from place to place. In hopes to make ours clear, we’ve designed an outlined guide for any who wish to play.

The Parts

The Board
As stated before, the board is made up of six different rings. There's the bullseye, outer-bullseye, inner single, inner treble, outer single, and outer treble. Trebles are the thinner rings that surround the very outside of the board, as well as one near the center. The treble alternates between sections that are red and sections that are green. Singles are the larger sections that make up the remaining interior of the board. The single alternates between white and black segments.

The Darts
The dart is made up of four different parts. The tip, which is the part that hits the board; the barrel, where you grip the dart; the shaft, to ensure a balanced flight for your dart; and the flight, which give the dart the ability to travel from your hand to the board.

To Begin
The dartboard in question first must be placed at the average head-level of those participating, ensuring the game is fair to all who choose to play. As for where to stand, all players must be an equal distance away from the board to, again, ensure the game is fair to all. Everyone must stand eight feet away from the board ((four blocks)).

There must be three darts available to play with. The darts stored within the Veritas tavern are about six inches in length. As for the board itself, it must be up to standard. The target should be in the shape of a circle with six rings. Each ring breaks up into twenty parts, except the two inner-most circles. Each section, if the dart lands, earns the player points.

To Play
Once your game is set up, you being eight feet ((four blocks)) from the board and have three darts, you can begin! Aim your dart towards the board as you see fit, and throw. Do this with all three darts, record your score, then collect your darts and pass them to the next player.

Doubles
While your score is determined by which ring your dart lands in, it is also influenced by which color segment you land in. In the trebles, there are red and green. There is no doubling within the outer and inner bullseyes.

A bearded Southeron squints his eyes as he reads at the missive against the tavern's wall, a simple shake of his head as an arrogance littered his musing utterance, "Who does not know how to throw a dart?"

Edward curiously stares at the poster, thinking the same thing as Southeron. Everyone knows how to play darts! Well, maybe some people don't, but..
