Morning had dawned, but it was still dark in the dungeons beneath Karosgrad. A guard wandered down the spiral staircase carrying a tray of food for the prisoner. At the bottom of the stairs, he called out "breakfast is here," as he moved down the corridor to the cell, where he stopped and stared. Silence filled the air for a moment, then the sound of wood hitting the floor as the guard dropped the tray of food and ran back up the stairs, calling for more guards. The cell that had contained Joaquin of Osanora, who had been arrested the day before during the witch burning, was empty.

 

Upon examination, no tampering to the lock on the door was found. He was just...gone...

"Nice trick" said the now-eldery Sergeant Brandt Barclay as he learned of the captive's impossible escape whilst strolling about the barracks.

Joseph Gaultier moved his form down at the hollering and yelping of the soldier confused at first but as he saw the empty cell the Armsman his fist clenched as he damn near growled "Find them..." he'd state to the soldiers that had followed as the Armsman went to make way and inform the Lord Marshal of possible treason.... How else was the prisoner gone yet the door not tampered with?

The shadows within that damnable City of Crow's would writhe in idle contentment, once word of the prisoner's escape had reached their ears. Indeed, lurking within the sullen alleyways and decrepit housing of the slums, did a formless apparition grin, uttering henceforth;

 

"GOD is good..."
