PREFACE

Ser Ulric Vyronov ‘The Unwavering’ (Common: Sir Ulrich Vyronov), was Knighted by Knight Paramount Ser Nikolaus Kortrevich under the reign of King Andrew III. Ser Ulric Vyronov was recognized as the Kingdom’s youngest to be knighted by the blade of Gaius Marius, achieving knighthood at the tender age of sixteen.

Prior to such elevation in joining the company of the Kingdom’s most distinguished and honorable men and women of the Marian Retinue, Ser Ulric Vyronov was tasked with completing four Knightly trials underneath the heeded squireship of Ser Nikolaus Kortrevich.

The first of the quartet of Knightly trials began with the Trial of Chivalry beginning on the 8th of Msitza and Dargund, 265 E.S. His squireship began at the adolescent age of ten.

TRIAL OF CHIVALRY:  [265 E.S. - 267 E.S. | 1712 A.H. - 1714 A.H.]
Definition; “A Knight must prove himself to be a humble and worthy servant of the chivalric code. For this trial, you shall perform three separate chivalrous deeds before you may progress to the next. You may do things such as write and recite poetry, render your services to a lady in need, assist the weak in their hour of weakness, and perform other deeds which might add to your honor.” -Ser Nikolaus Kortrevich

The young squire, Ulric Vyronov began his squireship under the guidance of Knight Paramount, Ser Nikolaus Kortrevich. From 1712 to 1714, the young aspiring knight underwent the ‘Trial of Chivalry’ for two years lasting from the winter solstice of 1712 to the summer dawn of 1714.

At the beginning of the frigid winter, Ulric Vyronov set-out on performing three chivalrous deeds; the first of which began when he was designated to venture out to the Kingdom of Curonia where for nearly four months, he volunteered at the local clinic where it is speculated he saved the lives of nearly a hundred Kaedreni soldiers.

The second chivalrous deed was when Ulric traveled to the Golden City of Ves and helped deliver a pregnant mother’s child. Record serves that this child grew up to be a wealthy merchant by the name of Ilya Yormont- rumored to later become a Kaedreni treasurer.

After months away from the Royal City of [Old] Reza, Ulric Vyronov finally returned from his expeditions and spent the next year and a half working as a tavernkeep and donating his [entire] salary to charity, which served as his third chivalrous deed.

Ultimately as the summer of 1714 dawned upon the realm of Arcas, King Marius II summoned forth Knight Paramount Dominic Grimm to discuss the current squires progress in their missions to achieve Haeseni Knighthood. As a result of such a meeting, it was later confirmed that Ulric Vyronov successfully completed the Trial of Chivalry after various Kaedreni and Curonian officials verified such chivalrous deeds to Ser Nikolaus Kortrevich [the Knight Ulric Vyronov was squiring under].

CONCLUSION
“To serve your King, and God, in both valour and faith.” -Edict of the Order of the Crow

Prior to his continuation onto the ‘Trial of Knowledge’, Ulric Vyronov spent the better part of two months in the northern reaches of Ayr, where he began to be warded by Lord Marius Baruch. Correspondingly, the adolescent Vyronov became well accustomed to the enriched Waldenian culture of House Baruch as he prepared himself for the Trial of Knowledge to begin commencement at the end of the year. . .
