Enumerated Distinctions of Purity

PREFACE:

To be born an Elf of aheral blood is to be born pure. Rich beyond measure of mind and body, clean and superior. It is these riches that set the High Elven people apart from the base lesser, the base defiler, and the base impure. Such is the virtue of our birth that no Mali’aheral may be more pure than the newborn, who comes from the mother untainted and unabated by the corruption of the lesser world.

It is the sacred duty of the Mali’aheral, in following the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya, to safeguard our purity. To preserve this flickering light of greatness that burns in the minds of all High Elves, and not to let it be taken from us by the lesser or the impure.

It is for this reason that the High Elven people must be ever vigilant of the impure, for while the lesser is easily seen, those who have been corrupted by the lesser world are not. They come dressed in the trappings and skin of kin, friends, and family. Twisted Elves vying to snuff out that spark of greatness in a mad fit of malice and jealousy; for once a High Elf has allowed themselves to succumb to the corruption of the impure world, it is almost impossible that they might ever truly be pure again.

We know these Elves well: the schismite Izalith, the impure Maehr’tehral. Elves seeking to destroy the sanctity of our culture, who have fought time and time again to rid us of our greatness through encouraging that we succumb to the urges of occultism and romantic deviancy. These Elves are not unusual in their beliefs, merely in their power to exert them. Mali’ata such as these dwell all across the world and all around us, preaching of false liberation and freedom from within the confines of their own personal prisons of lust, degeneracy, and their own base nature.

To maintain a good society, it is necessary that we reject the impure and that we shun the false shepherds of our people who would lead them astray, snuff out our spark of greatness, and destroy our guiding light. It is for this reason that this document on Laws and Distinctions of Purity exists. To protect you, the citizen, from corruption. To educate, to inform, and to defend. I beseech you be wary, kin, of any who would seek to strike down or rewrite rather than add to this document. For while our people and our scholasticism moves ever forward, the tenants of purity in the eyes of Larihei do not, and it is our duty to forever follow her perfect and unchanging vision so that our flame might never fade.

Othelu Orrar, Sohaer of the City-State of Haelun’or, 10th of The Deep Cold, 18 S.E.

THE DISTINCTIONS:

Though purity transcends the word, it is necessary that it nonetheless be written. Such is the burden of education and of the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya, that we chronicle our knowledge for younger generations even when a definition and description would not lend the idea behind the words true credence, and so we do our best.

Lariheic purity, or the mindset of Lariheism as derived from the uncatalogued teachings and oral traditions of Larihei, can be defined through the following labels of purity: the pure, the questionably pure, the impure, and the lesser. Simple at its surface but incredibly deep, the Lariheian doctrine emphasizes High Elves as creatures that are created pure and may only shed that purity over time through incorrect action and surrender to the world’s base urges. Namely desire of worldly sensations and accolades over service to their state and their people.

The pure High Elf does not care for the worldly, is governed by logic and reason over emotion, strives to better both themselves and their country in equal measure, and passionately devotes their time and energy to the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. The impure High Elf cares only for the self or those who bring joy to the self, is governed by emotion and attachment, doggedly seeks pleasure and accolades to stimulate the senses and inflate the ego, and rejects both their kin and their community in favor of the self. In this way the Mali’thill (pure High Elf) is a distinct and elevated mind, and the Mali’ata (impure) is closer to a common animal and should be treated as such.

Between these poles lies the questionably pure. The High Elf who behaves and presents with all of the rationale and sophistication of Elfhood, but who nonetheless exhibits suspect characteristics in their behavior. Arguably the most dangerous to High Elven society, it is these particular Elves who are so often infiltrators of the Haelun’orian political body, and who corrupt our culture from within as false leaders and guides. Whether through carelessness or insidiousness, it is these questionably pure Elves who are owed re-education that the questions of their purity might abate.

I.1. The Pure (Mali’thill)

To be pure is to be a High Elf who exhibits none of the characteristics of the questionably pure or impure. It is the Elf’s untarnished birthright, attacked and assailed only by suspect actions brought upon by the Elf’s behavior over time. As such, every High Elf without reason to suspect otherwise is most assuredly pure -- as is the enlightened nature of our blessed society.

I.2. The Questionably Pure (Mali’aheral)

To be questionably pure is to be a High Elf who expresses the influence of the unblessed. Tarnished silver, but not beyond reproach or restoration, who brings question upon themselves through their actions. The liberal regressor and the compassionate fool fall among this category, as do all Elves who would devalue their kin by considering them comparable in merit or worthiness to the outsider. Though not to be held explicitly as perpetrating crimes against Haelun’or or her people, Mali’thill must hold these questionable Elves in suspicion and stay vigilant to prevent their questionable inclinations from tainting the path of the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya.

The questionably pure Mali’aheral...

  • Lives outside of Haelun’or or otherwise expresses preference for the company of lessers.
  • Spends time with lessers outside of the company of other High Elves, or outside of the public eye.
  • Makes frequent trips beyond Haelun’orian borders outside the company of other High Elves.
  • Subscribes to strange dietary tradition (eating only vegetables, or not partaking in milk or egg).
  • Expresses compassion or admiration for the lesser beyond what could be expected of any creature.
  • Behaves flirtatiously or hedonistically, partaking in excessive intoxication, smoking, or eating.
  • Exhibits slothful behavior such as unemployment, or a lack of dutiful work at their place of employ.
  • Participates in unmeritorious seditious speech against their state or the self-serving desire for accolades.
  • Personally hoards resources or supplies without sharing the fruits of said supplies to their kin.
  • The use of strange and foreign vernacular, such as that of the Dwarf or Orc, in common speech.

I.3. The Impure (Mali’ata)

To be Impure is to be one who has succumbed to the temptations of the lesser world in completion. Defilers, addicts, and wretches; the impure willingly slaves to worldly urges in neglect of the pursuit of the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. Irredeemable and hostile to all things pure, it is the duty of the pure High Elf to shun and destroy these defilers and shades of the blessed wherever they may be found such that they cannot corrupt and debase more of their kin through their influence; for to be impure is anathema to being blessed, and is the highest violation of law any Elf might ever commit.

The impure Mali’ata...

  • Permanently taints the mind or body through modification and/or the intense use of substances.
  • Corrupts the body and mind with dark and perverse magics.
  • Subscribes to the religious or spiritual practices of the lesser.
  • Engages in public displays of affection with High Elves or lessers, especially outside of wedlock.
  • Engages in procreation outside of wedlock, thus dooming their pure child to an impure upbringing.
  • Engages in romantic or affectionate behavior of any kind with lessers.
  • Engages in in romantic deviancy or homosexual behavior.
  • Intellectually or ideologically rejects the laws of purity.
  • Seeks to combat or raise arms against the mother country of Haelun’or.
  • Seeks to weaken, divide, or create schism in the High Elven population.
  • Perpetrates or assists in the murder, attempted murder, or mutilation of a Mali’thill outside of self-defense.
  • Is found to be, or considers themselves to be, carrying a perverted mixture of pure and lesser blood.

I.4. The Lesser (Turrir)

To be Turrir is to be something inherently less than Mali’aheral. A creature that is short-lived and bereft of the great dreams that drive our kin in pursuit of the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. Those of the lesser world who do not carry the blood of the Mali’aheral in their veins are to be held beneath notice or consideration beyond that of an ephemeral visitor from a tainted place, except to be utilized in pursuit of the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya or held as allies in the service of that cause, but never seen as true equals.

"A fine work." the scholarly Tillun'sae would note to herself over one morning cup of green tea, a careful copy transcribed and kept in her own bookshelf.

Haskir sports his Othelu Dollar, proclaiming himself above the Turrir beneath him. He brandishes it like a weapon, prepared for the onslaught to ascertain his place in the inherently oppressive society divergent to the old republic's systemic collapse of that which were once pure, though now born anew in a sanctified light. Confidence swelled in him with the token. "We love Sohaer Othelu Orrar!"

a certain elf looks over the paper from his home in the silver state, after finally reading through it all he burns it up in his hand. "Well that was idiotic" The elf said before making himself a lovely cup of tea

Aymon Liawenys furrows his brows at the missive with a small chuckle: "Well... okay then..." he sets the letter aside in the lighthouse, tapping his foot as he drinks a cup of tea, "Suppose I am 'questionably pure' because I go anywhere else?" he questions in the general direction of Haskir, "The pursuit of knowledge cares not for where one is, and whilst lessers may be lessers... they can still hold knowledge."

"This is the most illogical thing I've ever read. We went from a society of trying to debate logically amongst each other and being able to openly disagree with one another to a questionable Military Regime where if you raise concern on the military scare tactic you get hung for being 'impure'." An older 'aheral would rant in his Estate. "Its like we went six steps backwards from 'progress'. You might as well be doing Valah church scare tactics."

"Guess Haelun'or is back to their manipulative tactics again! What fake people behind masks of kindness." Alyssa commented with an annoyed and angry tone, far away from the land of the mali'thill - seemingly not welcome as she does not live in their city. The 'aheral would simply sigh - before throwing the paper into the flames of her home, going towards her room cozy room before taking a long and deep slumber on her sheets. The Seregon dreams of not being in Haelun'or and being in the Korvassan beaches within Arcas- having a nice glass of lemonade to her left and a huge umbrella, covering her from the sun.

Othelu leaned back in his seat, cackling raucously as he heard the babble of questionably pure Elves talking to themselves ring out across the city with his giant Elf ears.

Maenor would go over the paper with great care, from within the safe confines of his newly decorated Haelun'orian apartment, despite hearing it be read before. "Curious how Nelgauth always comes up in Othelu's writings, despite being Sohaer for less than half of the Republic's existence. He must be infatuated with him or something." concluded the 'thill as he threw the piece of paper into the fire "But of course, it is Nelgauth who is the impure, not the insidious Silvyr who would kill babes for profit, or the lickspittle Zelios who not long ago sang songs of praise to Celiasil, or the deceiver they still call Maheral." he sneered sarcastically as a final note, resuming his usual business thereafter.

Aymon Liawenys smiles slightly, obviously unable to hear a word of this but approving anyhow.

"Nelgauth Maehr'tehral was an openly homosexual and cross-breeding Elf who was also proven in a Silver Court to be a practitioner of Dark Magic and a harborer of the Shade Parasite. Remind me again why naming this specific Mali as a Mali'ata is of any inconvenience to you or any less credible." Caledor would write in response.

He continued. "One of the greatest champions of the false-Republic was this Mali - and the Maheral who lorded over him allowed his impure actions. The false-Republic is and was quite literally the most degenerative state of the High Elven culture ever. To contend otherwise is to deny your own history and to deny reality. Do not continue down the path of the Mali'ata."

Aobh's brow perks as she hears of the writing while visiting a good friend in Haense. She pours two cups of green tea, one for herself and one for Tarathiel. "You know, for someone who has done questionable things with a certain kha within his bedroom the Sohaer certainly enjoys throwing rocks from glass houses." She takes a sip of her tea. "Though I suppose he was not the one actively encouraging the kha to attempt to marry a high elven woman, no, that would have been Silvyr or some such name. But! Then again, what do I know, according to this document I am simply an impure 'ata working as a medic in foreign towns." She would smile.

Maenor proceeds to tear down the walls of his home in search of those damned hidden microphones recording his monologues.

Haskir reminisces upon the 'questionable' time where he and the Sohaer had cooked hundreds of units of food for the Sillumiran armies in that very bedroom, along with another particular 'aheral paladin who helped them! He devours some pulled pork, savoring the taste with a fulfilled smile. That food fed the battalions who warred with Elvenesse!

"I hate lessers too!" remarks Halaena Elibar'acal whilst sitting in the Haelun'or tavern, sipping on a cup of freshly brewed tea, despite those words being nowhere in the missive read.

Somewhere, in some tower, a young elfess would read the missive, expression grim. "Oh ****."
