argonian 12836 Popular Post Share Posted May 6, 2021 A missive is sent out in your local Canonist(tm) paper! "Just the other day, by twist of fate, I had a surprise encounter with some dwarves on my way from Redenford to Providence. They asked me if I was Orenian. I was too offended by their hostile manners towards a non-combatant to answer them honestly to the negatory, so I devised to play a trick on them. I would play the part of an Orenian, without ever actually saying I was one(to avoid lying, of course), and let them get their comeuppance when they posted a bounty for a citizen of an allied nation. But, these dwarves were gentlemen, truly. Despite my evasion of questions and equivocations seeming to confirm to them that I was an Orenian, they did not harm me as they bound me and calmly told me they'd take me back to their capital, with promises that no harm would be done. These were promises I did not believe, yet did not fear for the aforementioned reasons. But yet, I ought not to have disbelieved them. The dwarves took me back to their capital, and told me, an apparent captive from an enemy state, that all I had to do to gain my freedom was to spend a day crafting for them. I asked them to bounty me instead, seeking to lay my trap, telling them I was nobleman(but not of which country). They had none of it; they cared not for my supposed status or rank. They treated all men as equals. I informed them I had no skills whatsoever, and knew not how to craft much of anything. But they cared not. These dwarves, gentlemen as they were, taught me the art of fletching, how to make arrows. After having been taught, I made only a bundle or two of arrows before they told me I was free to go, and told me I could either leave right away or enjoy my stay in their city before taking my leave. Well, this was truly a million miles from any treatment I could have possibly expected to have received from pagans, much less non-human pagans who assumed me an enemy of their state. Their treatment was truly humane, as we might put it(but as I now see as inaccurate), and I must praise the dwarves of Urguan for their hospitality even towards their enemies. I suffered no harm and I learned a valuable skill as a prisoner of Urguan. I even got to travel and explore new lands. I should quite like to be a prisoner of Urguan again! - Fr. Ailred."
Elite Snipes 3542 Share Posted May 7, 2021 Bakir Ireheart smiled, content with the outcome of the interaction. Hoping the human he met briefly on the roads to oren finally felt the love of his family. Bakir then went on his day, sharpening his blade and patrolling the roads for any orenians that were to fall into his trap!
LuneAria 169 Share Posted May 7, 2021 "Vow, anodzeh five star review! Business is boomin' fo' Urguan as usual." Asvi Frostbeard scrubs out the sky cells, hoping an Orenian can sample their finest 'top floor' lodging soon. "Ef anyvun else vants ta make arrows o' do 'ard labor, jus' send me an owl." Asvi then looks out over the Undercity and feels very lonely, realizing no one was around to hear her. In her overwhelming sadness, she tosses the random Canonist paper.
jdesarno 380 Share Posted May 7, 2021 Nugget would personally try to clean his own bottom of this waste paper if he wasn't physically encased in wrought ferrum. Instead, Nugget proceeds to dig a moderate sized hole and stuffs in dozens of these papers he found all about the outer slums of Providence, weirdly enough. . Plenty floating down river too. Nugget should bring this up to the druids, surely atleast one of them would be annoyed at the incredible waste of precious trees. ahem, that being said, he covers the hole up with dirt, patting it down and planting a sapling in the mound. Atleast Nugget is trying to actually do something productive that doesn't include misinformation and 'Public disturbance'

Nooblius 5794 Share Posted May 7, 2021 Grand King Norli Starbreaker smiles proudly knowing that his Prisoner of War Trade-School is the best in all Almaris, and that unlike certain ministries, the Legion of Urguan doesn't need to force people to write letters.
