The King Of The Moon 4958 Popular Post Share Posted May 12, 2021 CorciturăThe Cursed Line of EireamhanPronounced: Kor-chee-toruh Plural: Corcituri Origin Spoiler Sleet whipped across the sparkling plain to fall upon bloodsoaked earth and some hundreds of hairy, lumped bodies that laid in piles and the howling storm’s snow became tainted with a deep crimson. Atop the frozen massacre stood a spread semicircle of grim figures who gawked and trembled; where a decrepit drake with flaking, stoney scaled once hunched now loomed a steaming and fanged creature as red and raw as a beating heart. With the recently extinct race of the bohra as their witness, Malghourn lectured his conspirators as an empowered, vampiric dragonoid and made his intent clear; each of these great blood mages had betrayed one another in the planning of this ritual, each had betrayed the man who trusted them with his immortal life, and they had butchered the remnants of a dying race to do it: for power, for fame, for time. This was the Night of Ten Treacheries and none felt the guilt and shame stronger than the wood elven archon Eireamhan and every lacerating word of Malghourn’s speech cut deep into his soft and vulnerable conscience. “...You must earn my favor,” hissed Malghourn, his voice piercing the storm like thunder. Eireamhan became irate and let it be known; not only was he disgusted in his failure to spare Hazm the due sympathy to save his life but none of the Archons did either. Not only was he gravely disappointed in his willingness to cheat his peers but so too were they commited to cheating him. Worst of all they knelt to Malghourn and accepted his deals, each privately tailored to seduce them, and for it they were everything they wanted but for all the wrong reasons and he said it clear: Malghourn was an evil bilk and nothing more than a winged serpent who spoke lies and preyed on the Archon’s flaws. A dreadful, tense silence hung in the air as the maelstrom briefly lulled and all eyes fell on the steaming and insidious visage of Malghourn for a reaction. They all knew he spoke a truth but the true question was if their master would tolerate it. Unsurprisingly he did not. Eireamhan’s coming words were choked out of him and his limbs seized as he befall the dragon’s blood bending and hovered near; Malghourn whispered that no more ill words would lap from his tongue and thereafter his jaws unhinged and his tongue was magically torn from his gullet and consumed by his master. With the ritual completed Eireamhan was banished to his new plane as punishment while the other Archons began their roles and new lives. Bitter, spiteful, and mute, the wood elf refused to allow himself to fall to the pains of Malghourn’s torment. His life was irreparably affected and considered himself already dead and nothing would satisfy him other than wounding Malghourn’s grand scheme of which he was certain there were many. Isolated, Eireamhan pored over his new magical form and performed experimental blood rites on himself to alter his bloodline in an attempt to weaponize it into a plague-like derivative. Once satisfied his sights narrowed upon Numir and Carical’s conjoined worlds of Hazmstadt and in particular the farm. Were he to thwart Malghourn through anyone it would be his most coveted groveling servants. In a final ritual after ten years of isolation and modification Eireamhan summoned a blood rift with his own veins and slipped into the proverbial pig pen. Within a mere month the fabricated societies of mortals intended to serve and feed the vampire race in their sprawling capital was in utter turmoil as slaves rose up in violent and carnal waves thirsting for the blood of their families and, in the eyes of the siliti, their cattle were spoiling. This uproar induced panic in Hazmstadt and the monarchs called upon their fellow Archons to tend to the matter. Unknown thousands were cut down in an inquisition upon the farm world to purge these mongrel, petulant vampires that came to be known as ‘corcitură’ in the immortal tongue of hazmeză. After the dust had settled, and countless corcituri lay dead, only three Archons remained present. Numir and his Dreadguard had apprehended the Hermit, whilst Mictlanti toiled away at his latest machination: a ritual that would incapacitate the few lucky corcituri to be left alive, to act as guinea pigs for what would later be known as the ‘Rite of Restraints’, preserving them for countless tortures to be carried out in his own realm. With such shackles prepared, Mictlanti took it upon himself to personally deliver Eireamhan into Malghourn’s clutches once more. For his service, Mictlanti was named the ‘Turnkey’ by Malghorn, and granted an extensive dungeon for his newly made tool: a gaol of coffin-cells stacked floor to ceiling, to house future siliti that might invoke the Enlightened Drake’s wrath. And for his treachery, Eireamhan was returned to his plane once more to be its prisoner yet again, the realm embedded with the Archon’s power and life, bound so no blood sorcery might free him without also taking his life. Left to be isolated for eternity in his forested world. Trapped in bitterness and resentment towards the drake that had wronged him, Eireamhan’s experiments did not cease. Decades became centuries, and with time the Archon found purpose: fleeting efforts were made to spread his cursed line to the mortal realm, in an attempt to halt Malghourns efforts with yet another parasitical pandemic. Finally, the Hermit’s will would be given form, as a sparse handful of altars had managed to be summoned upon the mortal plane in the past century. Containing the Archon’s blood which, if imbibed, would afflict mortals with his cursed line, granting them the necessary tools to spread it further as agents of the trapped Archon’s plague. Explanation The Condemned Siliti The corcituri are the cursed descendants of the silit archon Eireamhan, the Hermit. Unlike the immortal siliti - the full-blooded heirs of the remaining eight archons - the curse of the corcituri is a mongrel taint upon the souls of otherwise mortal beings, setting them apart and beneath siliti as a corrupted variant of descendant, as opposed to another creature entirely. Feeding Spoiler Corcituri are helplessly addicted to the blood of descendants. That is to say, corcituri that have not consumed a portion of blood within the past one year (one OOC week) will begin to experience symptoms of withdrawal that worsen as time progresses, their addiction most apparent in the presence of freshly spilt blood: any wound inflicted upon a descendant equal or greater to a stab within eight meters (The range of [Quiet] chat) of the corcitură will send them into a frenzy. In this instance their transformation ability would be subconsciously triggered, causing canines and nails to sharpen and elongate against their will whilst they will feel overwhelmingly compelled to drink blood until satiated, either from the injured person in question or any descendant in an even closer range. Blood that is too old to drink (such as from a long dead body) will not have this effect. If ignored, the desire to drink blood will only worsen, reaching it’s pinnacle at four years (four OOC weeks) without feeding at which point a corcitură will lose their mind to addiction, devolving into beastial shadow of themselves that is only able to think about their next feeding, unable to communicate or live out any semblance of their normal lives until three portions of blood have been consumed. With regards to feeding, drinking a single portion entails about a fourth of a mortal’s blood (two emotes of sustained feeding, with additional blood taking a further three emotes per quarter), usually enough to induce the beginning symptoms of blood loss including disorientation, nausea, weakness, and potentially unconsciousness. The bite of a corcitură is unlike any natural beast’s. For the purpose of keeping their prey alive after feeding (so as to return later to feed again), their bite is inherently enchanted with the blood mage’s rite of scabbing, causing bleeding to stop and wounds to close (though still leave marks, injury and pain reflecting the shape and site of a bite) once feeding is concluded. In this regard a victim of a corcitură’s bite would not bleed to death after the feeding was concluded, unless the corcitură went out of their way to intentionally drain a lethal dose of blood. Should a corcitură be unfortunate enough to attempt to feed from a superior silit, they would be met with a tremendous toll. Blood drank directly from the higher variant of vampire would stick in the throats of any corcituri, causing them to choke and promptly regurgitate. Immediately thereafter for the first emote, a corcitură would feel weakened and sluggish, their energy, strength and movement speed halved as the poisoning of a blood not meant for them begins to coarse through them. This progresses to further vomiting in the second emote, during which they will be debilitated and incapable of movement, until finally they will find themselves completely incapacitated for three emotes (after which they will recover and regain their full strength and mobility). -Drank blood notably has to be fresh; either directly from a living descendant or within one narrative day or three OOC hours or it will make the Corcitură sick and not satiate their thirst. -Whilst Corcitori could drink the blood of any being without noteworthy effects, they cannot satiate their addiction with the blood of animals, other Corcituri, Siliti, Siliti thralls or creatures without genus. In this regard Corcitori only crave the blood of descendants and humanoid magical entities. -A Corcitură that has fed ¼ of a descendant’s blood will have their thirst quenched. Drinking this amount would at most incapacitate the victim whilst any more than this would be lethal. Victims cannot be fed from more than once per IRL day without dying from blood loss. -Corcituri that have not fed in the past seven IRL days MUST enter a feeding frenzy when exposed to any amount of fresh blood greater than a stab wound within 8 blocks, or the range of [Quiet] chat. Whilst Corcitori in a feeding frenzy cannot discern friend from foe and will be forced to satiate their thirst for blood by any means, in the early stages of addiction (week 1 and week 2 since feeding) their minds are not devolved and they are still as intelligent and capable as usual, able to functionally utilise their weapons and magic. Weaknesses Spoiler Flame, be it natural, alchemical, or draconic, leaves burns that are lasting and woesome (yet, of note, Voidal fire is treated as normal). Damage inflicted by fire requires twice the time and resources to recover from compared to other injuries. Further, dragonfire catches them akin to dry wood however it does not spread, only persisting until it burns the caught area to ash. Corcituri must extinguish such burns by smothering them completely or submerging in water, doused or drenched for 3 emotes. Rain automatically douses dragonfire burns in 6 emotes. Any flesh caught on fire can be incinerated to ash down to bone in 10 emotes of burning.Light is an irritating sensation for corcituri where they feel more comfortable the darker it is; sunlight being the worst offender does not harm them physically, but at all times under daylight they feel its presence as a discomfort, unable to rest comfortably unless under shade. This aversion comes from their vulnerability to fire. Salt (in pure granular form or at most diluted as saltwater; not simple sand or salted foods) will will boil the blood of corcituri, causing it to fizz and steam whilst shooting searing pain that feels akin to being set on fire through any wound it’s poured into whilst exposure to the eyes can blind corcituri for up to a narrative hour. Weapons treated with salt will leave fizzling wounds on corcituri who have suffered skin-breaking blows, causing them to suffer in a similar fashion to undead victims of aurum weaponry. The presence of refined salt not used to draw cuts or mixed with their blood will be at most uncomfortable to Corcitori, having no impact on their bare skin. Cursing Spoiler The curse of the corcituri is easily spreadable: a pandemic of Eireamhan’s vengeful design, traced back to the Hermit himself, any of the corcitură line are able to propagate the spread of their condition. By feeding their own damned blood to a descendant, willingly or not, there is a chance (dictated by OOC consent) for the curse to catch on a new host. Upon the conclusion of the fourth year after receiving the curse, all corcitură will begin to feel an innate desire to pass on their affliction, especially to those from whom they have fed, often styling such as their salvation and an alternative to an otherwise slow and painful death by blood loss. Alternatively, three blood mages by attempting a summoning ritual or a lone silit privy to a secret (and significantly less volatile) rite of their own can conjure the tainted blood of Eireamhan into a target, afflicting a present descendant (or the practitioners themselves) with the curse of the corcituri upon success. Such has historically been used by vengeful witches or enraged higher vampires to scorn enemies with the plight of bloodlust all corcitură suffer. Upon successful cursing, victims will fall into a tormented slumber, over the course of which they will dream of their signate and physically develop sharpened and elongated canines, claw-like nails and a pale complexion. Further, descendants suffering from any mundane (that is to say, not magically nor alchemically afflicted) disease will find themselves miraculously cured. On re-cursing: Due to the accessibility of the corcitură curse (as a state of being rather than a conscious practice) it is accepted for some cured individuals to regret and even mourn the curse’s removal in some cases. This is usually most appropriate to characters who were cured against their own will, or adversely misinterpret their trauma as being debilitated without the curse’s boons to serve as a crutch. This allows the reborn corcitoră to (at player discretion) reconcile with all trauma associated with both vampires as well as the parties responsible for their cure. -If an individual is re-cursed after being already cursed and cured once before, the corcitură condition is reinstated permanently. They will to some small extent mutate, and find themselves bonded to the lesser marrows of Eireamhan’s line, resisting all methods of curse lifting that had prior worked. -Those turned into corcitură must post a feat application, listing the person that created them (willingly or not) as their ‘teacher’. The corcitură whose blood was used in the creation process must then link their accepted feat application in a comment on the new application.-Turning someone into a corcitură requires their informed OOC consent. In this regard corcituri players looking to spread the curse must link this lore and permit new converts the chance to familiarise themself with it before deciding. Should consent not be obtained, the attempt to spread the curse is treated as a failure IC. -Corcitori can only spread their curse via immediate consumption of their blood by another. The Corcitură curse will spoil from blood within five narrative minutes after it was spilt, meaning one could not bottle it for long term storage or sale. One cannot turn others until they have been cursed for at least four OOC weeks (28 days) since the acceptance of their feat application. Further, an individual Corcitoră can only spread their curse 3 times per month. Blood used to spread the curse cannot be diluted in any way. That is to say, one could not spike a drink nor food with their blood in order to create more corcituri.-No CA races, Paladins, Templars, Yeu Rthulhu Magi, Heralds of Azdromoth or Druids could be afflicted with the corcitură curse.-Blood mages looking to turn someone (or themselves) into a corcitură must succeed at a summoning ritual as outlined in blood magic lore. Further, siliti looking to inflict the curse (without the risks or blood costs of a blood magic ritual) must have been taught the separate rite to do so. -Utilising a ‘self-teach altar’ to become a Corcitură requires a character to locate and interact with a specific eventsite, that must be found through legitimate roleplay and may only be interacted with once found with ST oversight obtained by typing ‘/sreq I would like to interact with the Corcitură altar’ once found in character. Those caught attempting to locate an altar via out of character means to become a Corcitură without going through the proper RP channels will be blacklisted from interacting with it and will have their Corcitură feat denied or revoked if one is already accepted. Cleansing Spoiler This corruption upon the descendant soul is therefore considerably less concrete than the irrevocable marrows of the siliti, and can be purged with the proper tools. Shamanic farsight, paladin purging and the alchemic muritor elixir all have a chance (dictated by OOC consent) to cure a corcitură of their condition, reverting them back to their untainted descendant selves. Former corcitori who have been freed of their curse will be traumatised by both the process and the revelation of any harm inflicted by their past actions whilst cursed. Plagued by guilt-fueled nightmares about their former selves as well as the trauma of the rites which purged their curse for the years to come, these cleansed individuals will suffer a drastic phobias surrounding the concepts of vampirism as well as paladinism, shamanism or alchemy (depending on which methods were utilised to cured them). The act and aftermath of such is scarring however, and will permanently fracture the psyche of these once-vampires both in aversion to their previous kind and to the traumatic cause of their curing. Perceived as unsettling at best and as irrational phobias at worst, a former corcitoră will forever associate the source of their cure with the same feelings evoked by memories of vampirism; a chronic mental illness that induces symptoms such as paranoia, panic attacks, stress disorders, sleep apnea, eating disorders and other significant discomforts whenever in the presence of their curing practitioners and their paraphernalia. That is to say: Corcitori that have been cured by shamanism will forever associate trauma with shamans, shamanic chants, garb, shrines and other paraphernalia or zealotry. Disregarding this would be considered powergaming. They therefore can not and will never be able to practice shamanism or its subtypes. Corcitori that have been cured by paladinism will forever associate trauma with paladins, chanceries, xannic chants, shrines and other paraphernalia or zealotry. Disregarding this would be considered powergaming. They therefore can not and will never be able to practice paladinism or its subtypes. Corcitori that have been cured by alchemy will forever associate trauma with alchemic healers, hospitals and medical laboratories, all manner of surgical tools, syringes and medicines. Disregarding this would be considered powergaming. They therefore can not and will never be able to willingly administer or receive alchemic medicines or surgeries, and such received unconsciously will cause discomfort to the point of rejection where applicable (IE dangerously removing an animii prosthetic that was attached without consent). The umbrella of alchemy, extending far beyond medicine; explosives, clockwork, metallurgy and witchcraft are just some examples of why alchemy is too varied to logically consolidate into a single 'theme' for trauma association, will still remain largely accessible to cured individuals. They can still practice the alchemic feat as well as the Afflicted and Animii Crafting subtypes of Further Alchemy, along with the self imposed experimentation exclusive to those subtypes albeit at half the pace (IE creating a machine spirit for themselves would take 1.5x the usual span due to the discomfort of bloodletting for a gearheart). Whilst they may be able to create them, they can not consent to the congestion, injection or inhalation of alchemic cures and boosts, even if administered by another. -Cleansing an individual of the curse of the corcitură will require their OOC consent. -Upon successful completion of a cleansing, it is the responsibility of the former corcitură player to contact the ST with evidence of this cleansing RP to have their feat application denied. -A Cleansed Corcitură will be deathly fearful until death of whatever means of purging/cleansing were performed to revoke their curse. These fears never dissipate, and would bar the former Corcitură from practicing or affiliating with whatever means may have cleansed them. Ergo, a paladin-purged former Corcitură would not be able to learn paladinism. -Cleansing an individual of the Corcitură curse utilising Shamanism will require a Farseer to grant a blessing of Scorthuz as outlined in Shamanism lore. Similarly, cleansing utilising Paladinism will require one to carry out the ‘Purging’ ability as outlined in Paladin lore. Attempting to utilise the Muritor Elixir will require an ST approved alchemy item. Signates Spoiler The combination of mortality and draining runes make the base signate for all corcituri and siliti. All corcituri possess a signate: a combination of blood runes layered upon the pre-existing signate runes, forming a symbol with meanings unique to that corcitură. A signate acts as an ethereal tether for the corcituri. These signates can be reproduced on a whim by siliti and pale blood mages who have memorised the symbols and runic combinations, acting as identifiers in the blood magic rites of restraints and reflection. Signates are acquired by the corcitură through an epiphany soon after being turned, the shape decided upon and therein permanently burned into their mind. They can also be revealed against a corcitură’s will via blood magic’s rite of revealing. Age In the likeness of their higher race, corcituri solidify in power over time and gain traits through maturity albeit paling to their kin. They are measured in weeks since the posting of the FA. All boons and banes will be retained in perpetuity from the tier they were acquired onwards. For instance, all boons and banes gained at Tier 2 will still apply to corcitori of Tier 3. Spoiler Tier 1 - Feat Application Acceptance No changes. Tier 2 - 4 OOC weeks Boons: -The corcitură’s feeding timers (1 through 4 OOC week distinctions) are doubled (2 through 8 instead). Tier 3 - 12 OOC weeks Boons: -The corcitură may learn the signates of other corcituri by drinking an inconsequential amount of their blood. This only applies between corcitori and cannot be used to acquire the signate of a silit. -The staggering effect suffered by a corcitură who drinks the blood of a silit is shortened by one emote. -While not currently thirsting for blood the corcitură is no longer bothered by sunlight, though some quirks remain; whilst the sun is no more immediately harmful to them than an ordinary descendant, corcitori are strangely incapable of tanning. Corcitori with light skin tones remain stagnant and incapable of adapting to higher sun exposure, resulting in more frequent sunburns than the average descendant. -[Noncombat Boon] Eireamhan’s bloodline trait manifests completely and in addition to previously the corcitură may turn completely invisible in darkness equivalent to shade or moonlight. That is not to say a corcitoră can chameleon against a background or become transparent and therefore completely 'invisible', but rather they are capable of darkening their forms to accurately match the low light levels of their surroundings and effectively disappear into the shadows. Unobstructed light from a torch or brighter within 8 blocks of the corcitoră will unveil them, though otherwise they remain undetectable. While stealthing they move at half speed. This ability cannot be used during combat. This darkness is convincing up to 1 block away at which point they cannot hide the curvature of their body against their background and are noticeable. Corcituri and siliti’s darkvision abilities pierce this stealth and is negated completely to them. In addition, beings that do not require light to see such as Seers (both MA and Feat) can still see corcitori clearly whilst using this ability, as can those in possession of True Sight such as Mystics and those afflicted with Vivification. Furthermore, as physical descendants with ordinary body temperatures utilising this magical ability, alchemic solutions could still be utilised in unveiling hidden corcitori. Banes: -The corcitură can no longer be cured with the exception of becoming a transformative CA that is incompatible with the feat, such as a silit. Abilities Derivative of the traits granted to all greater siliti, those of the cursed bloodline - the corcituri - are only capable of harnessing a handful of lesser boons, slightly enhancing their mortal longevity and recovery along with the ability to partially harness a predatory transformation. Longevity (Passive) Spoiler Corcituri are blessed with youth for the entirety of their lengthened lifespans, remaining as young and healthy as they would be in the prime of their race when first afflicted with their curse so long as they consume blood regularly. This is around the age of 21. Those afflicted before such an age will continue to develop naturally until such a time is reached when the curse will fully take effect and keep their physical bodies from aging any further. Whilst not true immortality, this grants corcitori the boon of living in their prime for decades, maintaining their stature, beauty and health irrespective of age. Further, the lifespans of corcituri are mildly stretched, increased by up to double their usual racial maximum. In this sense a human corcitori could live for up to three hundred years, and still retain the aesthetics and physical capability of whatever age they were cursed at. This longevity compensates for and overrules the lifespan shortening effects of blood magic. If a corcitoră is cured, they will begin ageing from the age at which they were cursed. For instance, if a corcitoră is cursed at twenty and cured at one hundred and twenty, ten years later they would look and feel thirty. However, any corcitora that has exceeded their racial age cap will die upon curing, as they are only sustained past that cap by being corcitori. In this sense OOCly consenting to being cured is in turn OOCly consenting to PK their character if they are over their racial age cap (based on the age provided in their corcitură feat application and the time elapsed since them). The price of their addiction to blood is also felt by corcituri in this sense, as every two years (two OOC weeks) since their last feeding will cause them to appear twenty years older than the age at which they were turned, though again having no impact on their physical capabilities. In this regard four years (an OOC month) without feeding would make a corcitură that was cursed at twenty appear sixty. -The Longevity Boon will only start to take effect when the character has reached the age of 21 wherein the curse will fully take effect and cease the body from aging any further. Recovery (Passive) Spoiler Corcitură are able to heal from injury at triple the speed of regular descendants. Bleeding from cuts will slow to a stop thrice as fast as one without their curse, and wounds, broken bones and other major - though not fatal - injuries will too be recovered from three times as quickly. This regeneration has no bearing on lethal wounds, as corcitură are still predominantly descendants and are subject to the same death clauses Further, corcitură that remain properly fed will find themselves in a perpetually healthy state, as being afflicted as a corcitură also cures individuals of any mundane diseases or congantenial disorders, and corcituri as a whole are immune to catching such unless magically or achemically afflicted. When not properly satiated, this will have an inverse effect on corcituri. Those that have gone a full year (OOC week) without consuming a portion of blood will begin to suffer from bouts of cold sweating, palpitations and a mild fever, worsening over time. At its worst - after four years (four OOC weeks) without feeding - corcituri will become subject to intense nausea, delirium and occasional vomiting until they satiate their thirst for blood once more. -Recovery will only cause regular, natural descendant healing to be accelerated to three times its normal speed. It cannot be used to supernaturally heal injuries in a way that descendant couldn’t already (IE regrowing a severed limb). -With the exception of slowing bleeding, even the triple speed advantage the recovery ability grants to healing will have no effect in combat and injuries that would be fatal or incapacitating to the common descendant will remain so for a corcitură. -Being cured of the corcitură curse will revert the effects of Recovery, restoring any diseases or congantenial disorders they suffered from before being turned. Transformation Spoiler Corcitură are capable of adjusting small aspects of their appearance at will, limited to extending their canines into fangs and their nails into claw-like talons. These aspects require one emote each to grow, after which they will permanently remain until retracted once more at the same speed. Corcitori are also able to warp their facial features into a bestial mimicry of their usual appearance, obscuring their identity and allowing them to shift between a total of two demeanours: that of their descendant selves, and that of their vampiric curse. Elongated teeth and nails are considerably sharper than those of normal descendants, and are a useful asset in drawing cuts on unprotected or lightly clothed skin, though are no physically stronger or more durable than the respective enamel or keratin of the corcitură’s respective descendant race. Instinctively tied to feeding, a corcitură in a frenzy will elongate these features subconsciously (though still requiring the same amount of time), and may be unable to retract them until their thirst has been satiated (subject to Feeding, under Explanation). When underfed, a corcitură who has not drank a portion of blood in two years (OOC weeks) will be forced to have their fangs and claws out at all times, unable to retract them until they’ve satiated their thirst. -Corcitori face contortion is fixed as one specific ‘face’ that MUST appear vampiric, hideous and inhuman, and cannot be used to change eye colour or hair colour, add or remove facial hair or to appear as a different descendant. Further, the vampiric contortion will always appear the same way and cannot be changed to allow infinite disguises. -An emote is required to elongate either one’s teeth, one’s nails, or contort one's face, meaning three emotes total would be required to complete transformation. -Elongated canine teeth and clawed fingernails are no harder or more durable than regular teeth or nails. Further, canine teeth cannot be longer than would fit into the corcitură’s mouth, whilst nails cannot extend more than one inch past the fingertip. Red Lines -Corcitură is a feat and will require an accepted application. -The terms corcitură and corcituri are not commonly known and must be learned through roleplay; those bearing the curse are most suitably referred to as ‘vampires’ by the general populace. -The origin of the corcitură along with the terms silit and siliti are not known or used in roleplay whatsoever and doing so would be considered metagaming. -Only Humans, Elves, Orcs and Dwarves (or mix breeds between those four) can be cursed as corcitură. -Halflings, all CA races, as well as Paladins, Templars, Heralds of Azdromoth and Druids cannot be afflicted with the corcitură curse. Further, corcituri cannot become any of the aforementioned, with the exception of evolving into full siliti via the rite of rebirth. -The boons of Corcitură cannot and will not override the weaknesses of any other magic. In the case where beneficial overlap might occur, corcitură boons are to be nullified in favour of said magic’s detriment. -By becoming a Corcitură and posting an application, players agree to the same hard shelf (soft PK) clause outlined in siliti lore via the rite of restraints. Outside of being locked in a Crimson Coffin or Mictlanti’s Fetters through roleplay, however, Corcituri are subject to the same death rules and monk revival system as other descendants. -An ST enforced blacklist from the Corcitură feat extends to a blacklist from the Siliti CA. Purpose Spoiler The primary purpose of this lore, detailing what is essentially a lesser siliti variant, is to grant newer players, as well as players that feel disenfranchised by the main vampire ‘cliques’ of Siliti and Strigae RPers a chance to experience a far less exclusive, and in turn far less compromising style of vampire RP on LoTC. Obtainable via a successful blood magic ritual, or locating a font of Eireamhan’s blood (an ST self teach altar), or organic spread between cursed individuals, corcituri are intended to act as a more common style of curse for those that would not otherwise have a gateway into darker magic/ creature communities. Due to the (understandable) IC secrecy of Siliti and Strigae, as well as the (understandable) desire to limit excessive spread of said CAs, the corcituri feat is intended to act as a watered down, easy to digest and in no way combat enhanced affliction for common descendants that we hope to exist not only for the enjoyment of those playing them, but also as an enabler for the RP of Paladins, Templars and other deific mages, as well as the organic growth of monster hunting groups, that presently rely on event requests to facilitate their style of RP due to the post-loregames drought of commonplace dark creatures, especially those with the potential for development beyond CRP thanks to the addition of a ‘cure’ to the corcitură condition. Lastly, I also feel the acceptance of corcitură would serve as a pathway for newer/ less involved players to get engaged with the pre-existing blood mage and siliti groups respectively, both in terms of ICly drawing the attention of those circles as well as acting as an OOC proving grounds, to showcase a player’s ability to roleplay a simplified version of said groups’ respective magics and CAs. Compatibility (Clarification + Marriage Pieces) Any magic not listed below is to be considered incompatible with the corcitoră curse unless clarified otherwise by the ST. Kloning is the only CA that is compatible with the corcitoră curse at this time. Miscellaneous Spoiler Corcituri can practice any of the voidal magics and feats, along with Kani, Housemagery, Mysticism, Necromancy, Blood Magic and Naztherak with no unique interactions. However, should they advance to become a creature relevant to any of the aforementioned subtypes - such as any form of Undead or Infernal CA, along with natural evolution to Siliti - their curse will be nullified (rather than ‘cured’ outright) and made dormant. Shamanism Spoiler Due to the origin of the Corcitoră curse as the meddlings of a blood mage’s miscellaneous magics, unaffiliated with any deity or tampering with undeath that might challenge the Spirits’ own respective desires (unlike other deific magics bound to the morals of Xan, Malchediael and the Aspects), Corcitori are in no way barred from practising any of the Shamanic subtypes. That is not to say Spirits will be blind to the presence of the curse, but rather indifferent in most instances. There are even direct correlations between the respective wills of some spirits - Enrohk, Votar, Gazigash and Kinul for instance - that may celebrate the curse amongst their favoured. The only notable exceptions to this are Scorthuz - the Spirit of Purity - and his lessers, as well as the lesser spirit Jezdurka, as the former is disgusted by the curse and will aid Shamans in purging it whilst the latter will - intentionally or not - cause unexplained yet unbearable discomfort to any corcitoră attempting to pact with it. A Shaman afflicted with the curse of the corcitoră will be unable to establish any form of bond with these spirits and be in turn deprived of their blessings and spells. -A corcitoră who practises Shamanism can not have their curse lifted by the blessings of Scorthuz. In that regard a corcitoră that is simultaneously a shaman cannot be cured by Shamanism, and would have to seek curing through other means. Affliction Spoiler The symbiote receives both detriments and benefits from the corcitoră curse on its host. An afflicted individual will find themselves succumbing ever more to the usual hunger of their symbiote, albeit finding no joy in Liquid Essence or even mundane foods that would once sate its appetite in abundance. Stranger still, a cursed afflicted will no longer be enraged to the same extent in the presence of voidal casting, though will still find themselves irritated by it and unable to stomach practising the arcane or harnessing its tools themselves. Instead, the cursed symbiote hungers only for the fresh meat of descendants, and where it once craved mana it will instead seek satisfaction in the genus of blood. Cannibalistic impulses will drive an afflicted corcitoră with far more ferocity should they not maintain their usual weekly feedings, and where excessive bloodspill in the presence of common underfed corcitori would provoke a wild and beastly response, an afflicted corcitoră will twist into something monstrous. Against their will additional mouths will rip forth across their body, additional limbs will sprout and bones will break and twist into tools adequate for butchering, a frenzy that will only cease once their needs for blood have been met. -A corcitoră who practises Affliction can not have their curse lifted by the Muritor Elixir. cowgirl bebop 2240 Share Posted May 12, 2021 +1 This is exactly the kind of intermediary the server is in need of. Not quite full spook, but enough to make it a worthwhile entry level villain.

Valannor 6342 Share Posted May 12, 2021 I'm sure I will find things to nitpick when this comes to review, but overall I am in full support of this. An accessible vampire CA to allow for easier villainy, more dynamic roleplay for monster hunters and the like, a proving grounds for getting involved with the greater vampire community, AND this **** has aesthetic abilities? Mordu/Zarsies, you're men after my own heart. I wholeheartedly throw my support on this.
Knightei 317 Share Posted May 12, 2021 Easy onboarding to a 'spook' CA? No need to know the clique? Seems like a good idea to me. Spoiler

Monomakhos 1837 Share Posted May 12, 2021 Mordu would not have made a feat if I had not said, and I quote, "Yeah lol I think they'd work as a feat but it shouldn't be a CA." In regards to our discussion of feral vampires. Therefore, I will be filing a class action lawsuit against Mordu LTD. unless I am given credit for telling him to make it a feat. You will be hearing from my lawyer, Mister @JoanOfArc. Spoiler +1 need bigcraft goblin vampires

Jentos 6677 Share Posted May 12, 2021 woof woof sniff sniff twilight role-play incoming ???? I like the idea, a lot, and I hope it works out as intended to provide some good spook rp to people, and that we won't be seeing openly parading vampires in city streets. I wouldn't mind seeing more of this kind of lore pop up, albeit to a limited degree.
