Jude II lies dead surrounded by his Curia and laymen within the Basilica of the Ascent.

FROM THE OFFICE

of

THE VICE-CHANCELLOR

Within the emptied desolate halls of the immaculate Basilica of the Ascended Godfrey, ambled along several young acolytes lighting nearby candles with a single flame amongst the corridors of plastered holy place. Each one of their footsteps echoed throughout the tiled Basilica, their heads dipped in solemn - they were both honouring and mourning the death of late High Pontiff, Jude II. His passing striking only sorrow and agony amongst both the laymen masses and pontifical curia.

A DECLARATION

With the death of his late Holiness, Jude II, the Church of Canon does hereby enter the position of “SEDE VACANTE” otherwise referred to as, “The Seat Being Vacant”. As a pious Canonist flock, we pray to those in both the Seven Skies above alongside with God himself that He may guide our blessed College of Cardinals to carefully and wisely elect the Pontifical successor of whom would soon adorn the laurel of the Pontifex Maximus in obedience to God.

May we children of Horen pray in which our following Pontiff who shall administer the Holy Flock with wisdom and selflessness, to not the beneficiaries of himself, to not a single Diocese, to not the indulgence of greed and gluttony - rather - may he be the benevolent shepherd of our flock, to guide the faithful in these times of squabble and conflict, may he be the vassal of God, a light in the darkness of the Iblees.

"His killers shall face justice, equal to the vile Ministry of Justice who assisted the woman who stole his body." remarked Father Basil.

"Godani, take care of him and show him the way, for he was a remarkable person, true friend and a brother in faith.. though I have no doubt that you have already..." Patriarch Alfred exclaims with a wearly sigh in the Basilica of St. Henrikev, kneeling before the altar in deep prayer.

Cardinal Adelric quietly prays for the soul of Jude, as he faced the horizon with a sorrowful expression. He would bend down, and grab a handful of dirt from the ground which stained his white coat with the earthly texture of the ground. He looked upon it and mused quietly to himself about the mortality of man. He mused about the finite nature of life and came to the conclusion that just like Jude, his father Brandt and his mother, he himself will disintegrate into nothingness one day.

Such was God's mandate, though he painfully acknowledged that Jude was taken too soon by the raging war and mercenaries, even if such was according to the Lord's intent.

Johan Vuiller would be seated in his office after the gathering, as the church bells so close rang in the streets. A echoing sound filling his head. He’d look to the picture of himself, Cardinal Goren, and Cardinal Manfried. His mind filling with memories of the times where they where simply cardinal brothers under the church of James II. A peaceful time of luck and joy as they tighter built the Holy Palatinate of Aquila, formerly known as Vuillermoz his family home. A year falling down his chin as he’d lock eyes with Manfried ( JUDE II) “your sacrifice will not be forgotten, your work forever sited. Your life forever lived brother..” he’d close his eyes, his mind once more taking him back to those blessed days..

The flames inside the Temple of Saint Lucien were all unlit in mourning of the High Pontiff Jude II. Bishop Guy kneeled at the center of the apse, with a dim candlelight in frontof him. He prayed for His Holiness, Jude II and the rest of the Cardinals. Hoping His Holy Light would guide them well in the coming days.

Josephine Augusta feels a strange sense of loss at the death of Jude II. Though he had baptized her first son, she did not know him well. Perhaps—if those curious folk from Yong Ping were right about “reincarnation”—she knew him in a past life.
