Tythus Save Us All

 

It's a Sunday evening. You're preparing for a lag free warclaim promised by admin team. Waiting in main with your rally of 70 people in discord, you happily get your Surge PvP Gear and go to your nation capital, rallying alongside the many other people choosing to play LoTC and go to this warclaim on this day. All of a sudden, people start teleporting around. You do /tps. 8 TPS. 7. 6. It keeps going down. You open your inventory. You can't move anything. You close it and try to open it again, but it kicks you out. All of a sudden you are transported to the lobby with staff broadcast messages: "10 Minutes to Inventory Rollback. 15 Minutes until decision regarding warclaim." Maybe things aren't so bad after all. But then, in OOC chat you see: "STAFF WAITED UNTIL 4 HOURS BEFORE THE WARCLAIM TO CODE THE WAR PLUGIN!", "AHAHAHA MAYBE ITS HOW YOU DRAIN YOUR BRAINCELLS", and "MUSIN MUSIN MUSIN MUSIN MUSIN." You see people jumping around on those pressure plates in the lobby, and you do /main in a desperate attempt to escape this void. 

 

 

This pops up. You try again. It doesn't work. You see in broadcast chat: "Warclaim has been rescheduled until next weekend." You just wasted 3 hours of your life waiting for a warclaim on Lord Of The Craft. I guess it's fine to try another day.

Unironically this is why I try not to give a **** about this server, I'll still play on it but literally no matter how hard anyone ******* screams it just seems like nobody is able to fix the most basic of issues, be it because staff members are red taped from being able to actually do anything or just straight up don't give a **** about the server and only hang around as a staff member for the clout because they did something years ago. Like lol.

in fairness, I don't think people realize that minecraft is very poorly designed to handle large numbers. IMO, the bigger problem is how much we rely on the idea that warclaims will be large uncapped battles when we really should just know that's not feasible.

I personally suggest Staff takes some time to focus on making a fleshed out lag contingency that's more developed and RP focused.

Unironically, I believe the way we fix this, isn't by calling the server a dumpster fire, nor by insulting staff at every opportunity. We need to ******* work with each other, simple as that.
