Again they came, and again they fell. As the greenskins screamed for WAAAAAGH at the gates of the Silver City, Haskir tugged the lever within the gatehouse. Klink-klink-klink-klink .. The chains battered the mechanisms above the portcullis to raise the gates between two opposing forces -- ten nasty Krugmari raiders stinking of pig sh*t, and twenty-eight of the finest soldiers and allies of Haelun’or. Elvenessi and Orenian men joined the Sillumiran of Karinah’siol as the army spilled from the city, erupting onto the battlefield to clean the forces of Krugmar from the homefront.

Haskir charged forth from the gatehouse after lofting the city defenses to unleash a barrage of arrow fire, sending volley after volley into the fray like no other -- only stopping once to watch as the champion Dog of Don carved down the greatest stinking warrior the Krugmari had to offer.

A tear crept from an eye. How beautiful, the might bestowed. He did warn mercy would not be so easily-won the day before. So it hadn't.

The streets of the Silver City were empty. The city was devoid of life.

Was this because the High Elves and their allies had hidden away when the orcs came to raid? Had the "twiggies" been so fearful of an orc onslaught that they elected to cower behind their walls? No, not one bit. The city was empty...

... because every elf was fighting!

High Prince Evar'tir Oranor, Lord Commander Amaesil Vuln'miruel, High Warden Aerendyl Hawksong, Warden Tadorn Kesereth, Warden Oryl Sirame, Warden La'io Valkryne, Warden Ievis Aedove, Warden Matthias Caerme'onn, Vallein Vuln'miruel and Briar Taliame'onn joined their cousins of the Silver State for the second time in a year. The Wardens had successfully held out during a short, planned training before the Orc warships were spotted on the southern horizon.

The Wardens of Elvenesse charged out of the gates and let arrows fly. The Wood Elves slammed hard into the front lines of the orcish hoard and tore apart any semblance of formation. As the combined forces of the Wood Elves, High Elves and Humans bore down on the warband like an avalanche, the fear was smelled on the air.

The same orcs that had previously executed CHILDREN on Elvenesse soil were seen fleeing the battle for the comfort of their warships and, then, the Warnation. Many were cut down, but many ran like the cowards we knew them to be.

As the orc warband fled for the second time, the Wardens stood among those victorious. A cheer rang out across the western world and peace was restored once more. The world had seen the dishonor of the orcs again and again. The world would never be the same. The thunderous march of feet in the direction of the Warnation grew louder and louder.

Lord Commander Amaesil Vuln'miruel stood with a blood crossbow in hand as he watched the black sails disappear over the horizon. A smile came to his lips. They had won. AGAIN.

The High Prince of Elvenesse, Evar'tir Oranor grins broadly beneath his viscera stained helm. Peace is earned through blood, and the Aengul of Courage was most certainly smiling upon him and his compatriots on this day.

And so he donned the plate afforded by the Sillumir, and so he wrought havoc upon the fearsome combatants, and so he issued his response in the fray, void of words; a terror in the field for his foes - a hero amidst the united forces of the elven-kin.

Thus, the duelist parted ways and was naught more.

Mia was just thankful to safely get in the City when she decided to visit to check the stock on her stall during the raid, having no real stake in this war

Although Gailien had not been present at the recent battle, he was for the prior. Since then, he'd oft reminisce of the events that unfolded, finding great pride in fighting alongside both the silver motherland and his own people.

"We're strong when we're united." he decides.

Indeed it was such a battle, 10,000  Orcs against the mere 30,000 Elves and ISA combined. A majority of the party fell back to the city of Krugmar to regroup once more and prepare for more battles to come. Korgahk determined to not lose a second time summoned the Krughai as well as met with executive orcish leadership to prepare, ensuring victory over Malins kin.

Human forces aid Elvenkind in the slaughter of the Orcish horde, 13th of The First Seed, 25 s.e.

"Truly, one of the greatest warriors I've ever seen." A white haired man said, dwelling upon the duel by his hearth. Glass of whiskey in hand after a fierce battle on both sides. Soon, he'd give a toast to the day and the victory of his comrade in single combat before going to relax with his wife.

The Lord Commander makes a note to even the odds next time a raiding party attacks their ally's city.

Elven out runners chase away the remaining Orcish forces,  13th of The First Seed, 25 s.e.

Vallein Vuln'miruel is shocked to see a portrait of himself in his newly granted armor but smiles none-the-less. "A true victory. One fit to be blessed by the Sapphire Goddesses" He cleans the orcish blood from his sword as he returns to Elvenesse to celebrate with his brother.

A certain Mali'ame warrior wipes Orcish blood from his blade, the dark stains of a hard-won victory now dancing across his battle kilt. The bronze plates adorning his body bore scores from the battle, though shined through in the light of the sun coming out from behind the clouds. The scent of death reached his nose, though none of his kin or their allies had lost their lives. He removed his helm, braids cascading down over his shoulders. The 'ame knelt, and tilted his head towards the sky. "Heya elsul’elemaln elehaelun’ehya ay’divtuvan oradilne." The warrior recites. The Lord of Death had given them strength.

Othelu Orrar had heard whispers of the thousands and even tens of thousands of orcs and Elves, even in the midst of his own celebrations, but could not fathom the tales. Judging from his reports, and the paintings shown, there were somewhere around thirty to thirty five people present at most.

Ah, the historian, ever the inflator of numbers: for if the historian were a master of calculus then they would not be a chronicler at all, but instead a mathematician. Whatever made the best story, he supposed, or at least whatever made the armies feel best. He scoffed for the briefest of moments at this new Orenian facet of counting each soldier for a hundred or a thousand men, and went back to his business unhindered. Would that the descendant could acknowledge the lower population of Almaris, rather than clinging to the futile fantasy of fielding tens of thousands at a time.

Wishful thinking.
