LOTC Magic Political Compass Test

 

This is something I did for fun, though also with some sense of seriousness in mind. In particular, this survey was inspired by @Jentos's post (you can find it here) where he offered some incite and aroused some criticism as to the issues with a lot of magic on LOTC. While this is hardly as serious or thought-provoking, it does give a bit of insight as to some of the players' beliefs on the state of magic and lore on the server. Keep in mind that if you want to accurately reflect your own opinions, the questions should be answered with truthfulness, though I do ask that you take this with some degree of seniority as I am interested in seeing the community's overall views on the matter. This particular compass has been modified from the original, replacing  each end of the spectrum with different directions which are expanded upon briefly below:

 

 

Toxposter: The modified Libertarian end, generally encouraging more openness with magic and freeformity. Toxposters often advocate for more flavorful and diverse applications of magic and lore as opposed to more practical. They rarely believe in cliques and are oftentimes charged with poorly teaching magic as a result of giving it to a new player right off the bat.

 

Philpost: The modified Authoritarian end, generally holding the belief of restricting magic to cliques and ensuring more quality over quantity. Philposters are prone to encouraging more niche and narrative-based applications as opposed to a variety of incoherent themes. They are of the mind; "If it isn't broken, don't fix it", and are less inclined to report incidents of abuse unless it directly insults them.

 

Edgelord: The modified Economic Right end, composed primarily of dark mages and villains, or otherwise antagonistic characters. Edgelords can be anything from chaotic evil sorcerers and lichee to cunning and crafty vampires who have woven their way into the courts. They often take on the villain role because they believe that villainy is necessary for a good story and wish to fulfill that role.

 

Wholesome: The modified Economic Left end, composed primarily of more wholesome and slice-of-life roleplayers, along with the occasional protagonist holy mage. They are oftentimes Suticans or Housemages who would prefer a quiet roleplay session under the moon with their elven fiancé than exploring an abandoned crypt or ruined fortress.

 

 

Again, this is done for the sake of fun and nothing more. Please do not use this as a means to poke fun at any members of the community. If you do have legitimate points regarding the state of magic or lore on LOTC, I suggest you take such to a more appropriate post as they may get lost quickly in here.
