LECTORATE OF OWYN ADMONISHES IMPERSONATORS

Ramsfield, Luciensburgia - The Lectorate Owyn, a monastic organization founded centuries ago which specializes in the study and implementation of Owynist doctrine, affirms their admonishment to false idols and deceptive “prophets”. This is the result of recent events whereby an impersonator posing as the Exalted Owyn attempted to hijack a well publicized wedding ceremony in the city of Providence.

When confronted by the supposed Prophet, the Lectors of Owyn found themselves appalled by the apparent willingness within the crowd to kneel and pray towards the false idol. It was especially disheartening to witness our brothers within the Holy Order of Exalted Owyn to have seemingly accepted the impersonator with little to no pushback. The Lectorate extends its gratitude to his Holiness and the groom, Adrian de Sarkozy, for questioning the entity rather than kneeling before it. A reality where faithful servants of the Creator could be so easily swayed by a flaming sword is truly a bleak one.

The Lectorate of Owyn cites the Holy Scrolls and the deductive reasoning of its Lectors as its source for justification in the matter:

  1. Scroll of Virtue [6:8] “So I am the most High, and in pursuit of My Virtue, I bid my faithful this: You shall keep fast to your word and station and aspire not to greatness among men, but to My glory.” The impostor entered the cathedral, on foot, and sought to garner the admiration and devotion of those within, beckoning that they recognize him as their Prophet to be revered.

  2. Scroll of Gospel [5:22] “So Owyn joined his father’s father in the Sixth Sky.”  The impostor claimed to be the Exalted, who has rightfully remained in the Sixth Sky. Exalted Owyn need not show himself until the events of the Vision of Strife, as the Exalted himself established the framework in a priesthood to carry on his legacy.

  3. Scroll of Auspice [2:18-19] “And by God’s will I redeem you of your failures, and send you to work peace upon it. And they go out, and Krug is lieutenant to Owyn, and they strike out against Iblees.” The impostor supposes that the Exalted Owyn would return before the events which take place in the Vision of Strife, and is without need of total redemption.

  4. The impostor was manifestly physical and able to be harmed - this implies that they were not a divine vision but instead an mortal entity.

  5. The impostor was tricked by our present Lectors into agreeing to have his blood spilt within the halls of the Cathedral, a house of GOD, displaying their disregard for Blessed traditions. The Lector responsible for the test has since repented for this act, and undertaken a quest of penance.

  6. The impostor was of fair complexion, appearing to be that of Highlander or Heartlander origin. The Lectorate asserts that the Exalted Owyn himself was a Farfolk.

The Lectorate of Owyn provides its conclusions and theories to the public, so that individuals may form an educated opinion.

  • CONCLUSIONS:
    • The entity was a mortal being capable of being wounded and likely slain.
    • The entity held a flaming sword which did not utilize mana.
    • The entity was not a voidal horror nor mana-based creature.
    • The entity was willing to spill blood within the cathedral.
    • The entity was able to be cut by a Slayer-Steel weapon.
  • THEORIES:
    • A street actor hired for the entertainment of the attendees. How they acquired the sword is unknown.
    • An Azdrazi who had taken the form of Owyn. Dragons breathe fire, the sword was on fire. This theory was poised by a priest who was present. Admittingly, the Lectorate knows very little about Azdrazi techniques, weaknesses and motivations.
    • A necrotic who had access to some form of body alteration.
    • A civilian who sought power and influence and who had spent a fortune on a uniquely enchanted weapon.

KNOW THE RISK: Your soul is more precious than all the jewels and titles in the world. Do not be led astray by impostors and false prophets.

After a long day of aiding in the construction of Du'Loc, Isaac takes a moment to kneel and pray,

"Almighty GOD, I pray for the soul of the actor whom attempted to trick the wedding party, may he find his own actions to be at fault, and come forth, to receive forgiveness, and seek REDEMPTION.  I pray for the health of the workers of our new town, may they not be harmed by accidents, and I pray for Brother Dante, whom cut the false prophet within the chapel, may his quest for penance at shedding blood on holy ground be fruitful.  Amen."

Holy Sir Armand nails the missive to the gates of Beauterre, disappointed by his brothers' apparent conduct.

"Seek not desperate affirmation like this, brothers - faith lies in God's grace through virtue," he scribbled in on the margins.

"An apparition of a Prophet or a Saint is not impossible, for example, legend holds that St. Julia appeared to Saint Kristoff, but it could never be integral or fundamentally change the Faith or the constitution of the Church as the Prophets left them, and if it tries to do so, we know it to be false or a deception. For everything necessary for the Church to know was given to the Church in the lifetimes of the Prophets; revelation was complete and ended with the death of Siegmund. And the Church was set up as the guardian of this sacred deposit of faith until the end of time. Hence a true apparition of Owyn would seek to enkindle devotion in the people by teaching them how to live the faith and practise devotion, not manifest and claim a public authority." Writes Brother Owyn FSSCT.

The only authority on this subject is his holiness, not the brotherhood.

The Brotherhood was more concerned about trying to judge with it's eyes and it's ears than through its spirit. They looked but they failed to see.

I am unsure of what I witnessed in the Basilica, but in that uncertainty is wisdom - to humble yourself to ponder whether what you are seeing can be explained by the senses or by GOD.  Only therefore, can men of great spirituality of the Church settle this question definitively.

In this instance, the brotherhood has only arrogance - confident in it's proclamation, pride in it's certainty.

This being, possibly Ex. Owyn, possibly a deceiver wielded a blade untampered by some kind of dispelling oil. A radiant halo of light illuminated it's head, it appeared from the nothing, and vanished as easily when it was escorted from the Basilica. It smelled of incense, and it's very voice echo'd with authority.

It demanded nothing, subjecting itself to the secular experiments of the brotherhood. It offered no violence. Healthy speculation is warranted in this regard.

The Holy Father should appoint a clergyman to investigate this further and provide a thorough answer to which only the vicar of GOD can answer, not some half-cock test of 'witchery' because it bleeds. For who can discern the will of the Divine but the vicar of GOD the Holy Father, and the Emperor, twin brothers in service to GOD.

What the Brotherhood is scolding is faith. If Owyn were to descend, why not at a place where those who venerate him have gathered? He made no demands, save that we listen - instead we cut him and tried to dispell him a way. Let us pray we did not deny ourselves one of the seven skies.

I encourage my Canonist brothers first to pray, that why their faith is so weak that they could not believe that Owyn could not walk amongst us, and that they for themselves could discern with mortal eyes and mechanisms the work of GOD.  Ye of so little faith that you would cast stones at the faithful for the crime of believing of even the possibility that GOD has not abandoned us from his prophets.

He Remarks publicly.

"We don't need an apparition to tell us that God has not abandoned His people. We don't need to see Owyn to know that he intercedes for us." Replies Br. Williams. "It is a weak faith that says unless such a manifestation has happened, we cannot know these things."

"Beware of false prophets that will use de faith to push their ulterior agendas. Thees was not de first imposter y et will not be de last - keep thy faith en de Scrolls y don't be swindled by spoken Flexio y flaming swords." warned Father Paco, having already had to deal with a much more spectacular false prophet that's been making his rounds in the south.
