BACKSTORY

Born in 1822 of the Second Age, Philip Hughes de Rosius was raised by his father Charles and his mother Safiye. Philip was a more chaotic and unruly child when he was younger for his father was mostly absent to do work for the government and he did not see his mother quite often. For this he was sent to his Uncle in Redenford to be raised as a gentleman rather then having the behavior of a drunken peasant. This transfer has more or less played a factor in the life of Philip as he wanted to join the Imperial State Army, but this ambition was halted due to him being too young for recruitment. While residing with his Uncle, he was taught how to respect those of higher status and how to serve the Empire properly; this made Philip utterly dedicated to the cause of the Empire and he would be willing to eradicate those who wish to see it fall. When Philip was thirteen years old he was often found reading books inside the library of Chateau de Rosius, studying the many enemies that the Empire has fought in order to use it for the safety of the Empire. Ever since he was thirteen years old, he was not one to introduce himself to his more distant relatives as they were not aware of his existance due to the abscence of his mother and father. Philip eventually had his own sword made and started to train on dummies at the Chateau, trying to become skilled in sword-fighting to eventually serve the Empire with the utter dedication that he has. While being aware of his great-uncle being a respective Captain of the Imperial State Army, Philip was facing the dilemma of either making a reputation through years of war or politics; for both have their factors in serving the Empire. While he was still thirteen, he kept going along with his swordfighting practices and studying so he could eventually become a good fighter and perhaps serve both in the army and politics.. though Philip prefers war over politics as in war you stand face to face with the enemy.

When Philip became sixteen years old, his Great-Aunt Claude had passed. This left the de Rosius family completely devastated and left a big hole in the family, together with many arguements. With the sudden death, Philip his Great-Uncle had his period of grief; Philip showing the support that he can provide to make his Uncle feel better. While he knew that his Great-Aunt had passed, Philip was saddened as he felt the loss too. This left Philip to stay inside the chateau for quite some while until he did not feel sad anymore; He was absolutely devastated by the loss. As days had passed, Philip and his Uncle Otis encountered Hera (Otis' eldest daughter) and his sister-in law Aimee in the streets of Providence. As he saw his Uncle, cousin and distant auntie get into conflict with eachother; he somehow felt an amount of anger but managed to maintain himself by simply spectating the outcome of this arguement. The outcome was a simple disperse of those involved, but Philip wanted to talk to his cousin; and he was unfortunately halted by her aunt by simply blocking him off. Philip eventually went back to a residence in the de Rosius Avenue, he was extremely enraged by how someone could block himself from his own kin. This is what made Philip doubt his family ties and eventually led himself to thinking.

THE DEBUT BALL

The same day, a debut ball was celebrated at the Augustine Palace. This debut ball was in honor of Princess Amelia Margaret of Renzfeld. Although Philip was in doubt; he confidently walked over to the Princess to ask to dance with her; the two conversed while dancing in happiness but eventually they had to let eachother go because of the presents that were given to the Princess.

While Philip was simply waiting to present his gift to the Princess, a man came to the ball; drawing his sword and running after the Princess. Although the man failed to assassinate the Princess, the man then moved to a Maid to make an attempt to cut her throat but also that had failed. This led to a large group of armed men to chase the man down and to eventually kill him. Philip had dealt a blow of a sword to the spine of the criminal, perhaps having weakened the state of the man while running away from the large group. While chasing the criminal together with the other men around him, they killed him outside the palace. By then; Philip returned to the ball to present his gift while being quite tired of chasing the man down. Philip then presented an owl that he had trained which came from the Highlands from the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska. the Princess was satisfied with his gift and by then Philip stood with his Uncle once more. As the Princess was in conversation with the Cardinal Providentia, Philip asked the Cardinal if he could say the Princess a proper farewell; this was tolerated by the Cardinal and his Acolyte and so he bid her farewell by laying a quick kiss upon her hand. This kiss eventually became apart of the Social Season Potins and was regarded as 'drooling', which left Philip disappointed but he knew that it was nothing more but gossip to entertain the people outside the Palace.

After the debut ball, Philip went back to Redenford to tell the news of himself dancing with a Princess; which made the family surprisingly proud of him. Ever since the day that he lost members of his family in a short period of time, Philip had never felt so happy before. So Philip started to attend more and more events within the social season to see if the Princess was there. And he was fortunate! During the Garden Revelries she was there. Philip was then called over by her to introduce himself to friends of her, although soon; those friends dispersed from the conversation and also the Princess herself. Philip then went home, to rest for a while; but before he went to rest he received a letter of the Princess which was a response to a letter that Philip had sent before. There was an amount of sending letters being done between the two, keeping their contact as a secret. He then wrote a letter back, and by then the letters stopped for a while.

On the day of Court within the Augustine Palace, Philip attended it with his uncle; Philip became quite bored of it as it was nothing of interest to him. As soon as Philip wanted to walk out of the courtroom, from the corner came Princess Amelia; which came as quite a surprise for him. The two had an exchange of words and eventually walked together to a room in the palace to converse further. This was the first Housecall for Philip, knowing he would not be able to marry her due to his lack of titlage and having no peerage whatsoever; although his family is petitioning for peerage and being proposed as the heir by his Uncle who essentially was responsible for raising Philip as his own father could not. At the end of the conversation; Philip had to take a leave as he had to prepare the last bits for the Banquet at his home; once more kissing a Auvergnian goodbye upon her hand and then took left the palace. Philip was then going home to prepare the last bits for the Banquet and then continued to train himself for sword-fighting

THE BANQUET

At Chateau de Rosius, a Banquet was organized by the Uncle of Philip of which Elodie was the hostess. Many people were attending the banquet and it caused Philip to meet many people; two of them being Anna d'Arkent and Elaine d'Arkent. Philip was asked by Elaine if he could show her around in the Chateau, and so he did; showing her the second floor from which a incredible view could be seen; the view from Redenford and perhaps even a part of Providence could be seen. Then Philip made a confession to Elaine which remains as redacted until this day. Philip and Elaine were conversing with eachother for quite a while, then moving downstairs to converse further about specific subjects such as hobbies. Then when the Banquet was over, Elaine left due to her feeling ill. With her leaving, Philip then conversed with others; mostly with his family due to his lack of trust in the guests that were present.  His Aunts and Uncle went to somewhere private, being quite secretive about things. Which left Philip curious about what they were discussing, then he was sneaking into the basement to find out what they were discussing. Unfortunately; Philip did not hear of what was being discussed, until this day Philip still does not know what has been said.
