The King should have known that leading a force of Norlanders into an equal number of Rustlers was naught but suicide, even with their Ferrymen reinforcements.

King Vane yawns, going to take a nap in the Kitchen in the tavern, as per his tight napping schedule "I guess they were so mad they lost the other day that they had to cope about lying about my leading a force of norlanders against them."

Moriaen was waking up in the morning, dreary eyed and yawning loudly. Stepping outside, he saw a missive at the foot of his door. He picked it up to read it.

He smacked his lips.

"...Huh." He threw it in his fireplace. "Kindling."

"I hate Snoreland, but I hate half-price Ferrymen even more." Haskir says before picking some Rustler bandanas from the Rustler-Ferryman skirmish site from the other day.

Alisa Camian read over the missive with mild interest, content to enjoy the idiocy of foreigners in her old age. And, of course, as she read over it, she had a series of thoughts, which she relayed to those around her at the time, as spiteful old women tend to do.

the High Chieftain challenged King Vane to a duel of honor to resolve the specific agreements of the treaty. The King refused.

"Well, the first issue I see is a fundamental misunderstanding of Norland's laws governing the tradition of dueling. The King was well within his rights to refuse as duels of honor are not to be used as a means to settle common arguments, or to determine the passing of lands or titles. So there's the first mistake."

Third Tenant of the Red Faith: Stand against the Long Dark, which reads:

"The craven...can be taken as examples of those with excessive internal corruption. When these cases are identified and properly condemned via a priest of the Red Faith then the only recourse is to submit them to the All Father’s mercy. They are to be tied to a stake and purified with Holy Fire. This will give them some small chance of being purified of their corruption and sent to the Father’s own embrace.”

"Oh. Joy, the foreigners are taking an interest in the Faith," The Priestess then remarked with disdain. "Firstly, the word is spelled 'tenet', but I suppose I would be asking too much to expect literacy. Secondly, they're citing doctrine that is centuries old at this point as well as misunderstanding the definition of the word craven. Cowardice implies flight; fear. But, I guess someone whose range of social skill is limited to stabbing and whining would have trouble making sense of normal interpersonal interaction. Telling someone who is accompanied by a small retinue of armed soldiers 'no' a few feet from his face is not an expression of fear, it is a simple denial. But, again, this takes a degree of social awareness, which I shouldn't expect from illiterate, apparently-disabled children."

I implore the priests of the Red Faith to declare King Vane’s mind to be corrupted internally.

"Finally at the bloody end of this thing. This would only come to pass if Vane were a mage- which he's not- possessed by a demon- which he's not- a creature of the night- which he's not- or the living embodiment of some immoral behavior- which he's not."

With that, the old woman crumpled her copy of the letter and tossed it in the bin.

"Poor bait. Try harder." She remarked in conclusion.

Sir Charles Galbraith would be drinking a glass of helenan wine with Lord Joseph d'Azor in The Novellen when he heard of the public letter of the Rustlers.

"So these brainless bandits are now calling the Chieftain of the Nordlings a coward? This comedy club called Norland is definitely very funny."

The former Solicitor-General would cackle and continue making jokes with the former Chief of the War Office regarding the Nordlings until dawn.

Kosher Daesmon would wake up from his nap under a nice tree to see this attached to it. "Huh, things are getting heated, no?" He asks himself. After thinking about it for a few minutes, he goes back to sleep, dreaming about the possibilities.

A certain 'Ker reads the paper, his thumbs fumbling slightly in the frigid cold. He draws a sharp breath and rubs the ice forming on his eyebrows off. "What a *****. Disturbing a weddin', for what? What did 'e expect other than death?" He stands up to stretch and continues on his journey, dissatisfied with the "King"
