“Paler than death. Gaunter than bone. Hearts should be lifeless. To sit on a throne."

We, Clan Mog, take the symbol of two intertwining serpents.

And in its purest form; it  represents the eternal entanglement of other beings.

We also take the quote: ‘Paler than death, gaunter than bone, hearts should be lifeless, to sit on a throne.’

This shows the nature of emotions. And how one must lose them to achieve true enlightenment.

History

“To progress into the future, one must sacrifice part of the past.”

Spoiler

The clan was founded in the remnants of Morghuun. Or so it is believed. But information of this beginning is clouded in the unknown. As is much of whatever past the clan may have had. But information on this past has often come to the present after numerous sessions of cactus-green and poison hallucinations. Both proving fruitful in visions with crucial information.

Though no vision stands out more than one of Hodge’Mog and Podge’Mog both sailing to the lands of Almaris. In their boat many weapons and clothes. But no-one to wield or wear them. From this it was deduced that these were to be for clan members of Mog. And this is where Mog started. Under the leadership of the conjoined duo.

Spoiler

Members born directly from clan descendants tend to have tough pale skin. This is most likely an adaptation from the immense amount of body modification from prior members. Along with the fact first descendant members were born with directly pale skin. Causing infants to be more tanned than their predecessors until they take part in the ‘Deep dark’.

Height wise the members of clan Mog are just below average. With a varying height scale across the board. Mostly leaning to average numbers rather than immensely different; though this is not an uncommon occurrence. As born members mix with recruited members, leading to some varying kin.

Most other traits within the bloodline remain fairly untouched. Keeping similar appearance to an average Uruk except with their pale skin and adaptation when they grow older. So overall physical appearance remains a beautiful blank canvas. Perfect for the activities of the Mog.

Spoiler

(OOC: There are little restrictions on physical traits as there's a bigger emphasis on what is done after. Skin info under wardrobe topic :))

Spoiler

Body modification is an integral feature of clan Mog. An activity which often comes to mind once stating the clan. As all who join are subject to at least one feature of modification. It is common practice. And thus has become a popular pastime as well as a more niche career path.

Though there is more meaning to modification than meets the eye. Each addition proves one more respectable. And offers a deep look at the soul of an Uruk. However some choose to look at it as a simple procedure meaning little more than one would have a haircut.

Clan Mog has a few private ones of their own. Such as:

The Deep Dark - this specific activity hits two birds with one stone. And is a must be for members of Mog. As it is stated as one of their trials. This is the act of going underground for two weeks. With restrictions from all sunlight. Though some food is provided, it is very little. Causing the after effects to show paler skin and more gaunt bodies. With bones protruding beneath the surface and a more skeletal-esc appearance. One which is often envied within the clan.

Scale skin - this is another activity and is the art of forming lumps on the skin. Ones which resemble serpent like scales. This is done by forming a deep-wound in the skin. So deep that it is unable to fully heal. Once this is done, tree-sap or clay is inserted. And after a while it heals to form the bump like definition. Turning almost bleak and gray.

Gem teeth - A difficult act but do-able with a simple chisel, clay, fire and gem. This causes a lot of pain to the subject however leaves them with gem encrusted teeth. And often burnt gums too. Though this practice is often secresiesed.

Other than those most modifications are offered to the public. These modifications goes as followed:

Nail Removal - A simple but flat dagger slotted beneath the nail and torn upwards. Removing the nail in a gruesome and imprecise fashion. Though this is part of the art. However this often takes weeks on weeks to heal. And requires lack-of-action as bandages and ointments are applied.

Piercings - Common within places; piercings have been often done by Mogs. As they use a small mallet to puncture the skin with fish bone or oyster shell. Once this is done a specially smithed ear-ring, nose-ring, nose, stud, ear-stud, cheek-stud, eye-brow-stud, sinus-stud, amongst many; are put on.

Scar tattoos - Scarification is a haruspex practice however has found itself often done by modificationists. Using a variety of sharp and blunt tools to create wounds which heal. Even going as far as burning metal before peeling it off to create a mottled effect. Though specifications vary from modifier. As it's a vast task.

There are also some taboo modifications. These are often frowned upon by many, however are often done by those in clan Mog.

Bone manipulation - This is the art of snapping a bone till it breeds. Often done with a hammer. Once this is done a cast is formed with splints. Though in a wrong position so the bone heals poorly. Protruding out the skin or just below it at an awkward angle. This is taboo for clear reason as it can inflict constant pain and even be fatal if conducted wrong.

Tusk removal - Clearly a taboo act. As tusks are something to be proud of. Though still an act in-itself. Using clamps of all kinds to snap off tusks. Leaving shallow boney stumps in their stead. This can be done for multiple reasons however is most often frowned upon unless given special reason.

But despite some being taboo, and others public. All members of Mog often participate in receiving all. Giving them deformed and skeletal like figures despite remaining orcish and brutish. This has garnered them odd looks and gives them the title of one of the most physically diverse clans to ever settle within the lands of Krug.

Spoiler

The attire worn by the Mog clan is entirely up to the member. Though trends have come and gone within the first members one has stuck within the clan. And that is the use of celebration.

Members tend to like showing off their finest kills upon their body. Often sporting feathers from birds and bones from beasts. Though these kills must have been claimed in honour. If they had been claimed in honour then these garments are thought to have the life-source of these creatures living upon them. Aiding them so in turn the wearer can help in Krugs land.

Members also like to reveal as much skin as possible. Often to put on display the immense amount of body-modifications and scars placed upon their bodies. Both as a mark of pride and show of power.

When it comes to war attire however, there aren’t many restrictions. However one main rule stays. And that is for the fighter to remain without covering their face. So whoever they kill in battle knows who their killer will be. This is for both respect and intimidation. As their faces are rather scary after all additions made by piercings and bone.

Spoiler

(OOC: Skins can possibly be provided or at least the mina to get one. If not, there are plenty of people in the LOTC discord willing to make them.)

Spoiler

AZH. - The first trial of any Discovered member is for them to learn all of the activities and aspects of the group. Once they have learnt about all of Mogs ways, they are to write out five facts they have learnt about the Mog clan.

(Read in-game books or ask IRP then google doc, or b+q,  facts) (= Discovered)

DUB. - The still tainted member next must hunt a snake of any kind. Bringing its carcass to a shrine of Moghul before adorning it upon their attire. Whether it be the skin, fangs or skeleton.

(RP hunt and either skin, or get skinned, the adornment) (= Tainted)

GHAK. - After taking a life one must give one back. So the member must receive a snake egg off a chieftain or the Moggoth, or find one themselves. Once this is done they must hatch it. Tending to its needs by building it a vivarium and waiting for a companionship begins to spark. (RP with a snake, RP+OOC build a vivarium)

FUTH. - Assuming the member is well enough connected to the snake, they must extract some of its poison before drinking it. This should be enough to cause hallucination or sickness, not death. But to prove this Mog infused blood is not wasted the newly blooded member is to fight a current member.

(PVP or CRP fight) (=Blooded)

H’. - This is the final trial of clan Mog. And it is to show their acceptance of the clan by going into a cave for an entire week. (1 day irl) in complete solitude with little food and water. Just enough to survive. This is to become gaunt and pale.

(1 day secluded in a cave. Can skin become paler but not forced) (=Full blooded)

Spoiler

Many members of the clan settle upon Xionism after some time. Realising how mortal spirits truly are. And the chaos which can be conflicted by their incompetence.

Many set false totems up in the clan hall to mock spirits, hanging trinkets of them all stolen from others. All done because of the teachings that the clan preaches. Those that the spirits hold the orcish people back. And unless they are taken control of and enslaved just as snagas once were, there will be no use to them. Members even create dream-catcher-like objects to hook onto their tusks. Attaching tiny trinkets from other spirits. Hoping it will divert their purpose from shamans to themselves.

So members take up smaller matters with them to test their potential chaos. Only imagining what they could do if the tales of spirits garnered over other kingdoms. What if everyone worshiped the spirits? What chaos could they create then?

All questions to be answered. All questions in process as Mog clan mates progress through the art of Xionism.

Spoiler

(OOC: By no means does this mean you have to participate in Xionism. But heres a link to take a look!

Spoiler

Members of Mog favour plenty of weapons. However, Mog members tend to stick within melee combat.

Often using this typical short-Warhammer to brutally immobilize a target before setting their pure bloodlust on them, using nothing but their fists to finish the job.

However Mog are also known for their act of stealing. Whether it be trinkets of shrines, or Taolak poison.

Due to this members have taken up using sharpened spears and javelins dipped in the ferocious hallucinogenic. Copying the weaponry of the Lak clan. Despite hiding it under their façade of using secret mixtures.

Spoiler

(OOC: This does not mean you have to change CRP or PVP technique. Do what's best for you! Equipment can be provided if necessary, and klomps, along with hunts, will be hosted!)

Spoiler

Many common activities are held within the clan. However there is one unique game which is played within clan mates, and the public.

And that is the game of “Puzh” (push), this is where two uruks are placed atop a hoisted platform. Below is a body of water. And the goal is to push the opponent off. It's a simple activity but one which has garnered the excitement of many like minded brutes. There are little rules to accompany this activity however it may vary depending on the event.

Betting is also sometimes allowed in these events. Leading to some hot headed disputes to be solved the same way; a puzh. Because klomps are seen as a much more sacred activity for serious matters. Whilst puzh is for fun and games. A true way to enjoy oneself.

However physical activity isn’t the only way. As many choose to sit back and relax whilst trying out hookah and cactus green. Harvested from the world cactus itself. But one more specific way is ‘poison drinking’, where oneself quite literally puts snake poison mixed with alcohol, specifically neurotoxin, and drinks it. This causes amazing visions amongst other effects.

But pushing people, or drinking poison, aren’t your thing. There are a variety of more niche activities, and more common activities to try out.

Spoiler

(OOC: all usual redlines apply to poison.)

Spoiler

Many Mog revel in conflict. And thus opt to pick whatever is the most chaotic way to fill their selfish endeavours. When it comes to hunting most tend to steal other clans' best hunting spots; even slaughtering clan sacred animals for their own gain.

One to note is the Taolak. Instead of simply gathering it passively, members take them by force. Killing them or capturing them. Using their skeletons as decoration and the poison to copy-catt Lur weaponry, and use as hallucinogens. Though these are claims both denied in public. And thus shrouded in mystery. Despite the constant secretion of smell drifting from members and areas of Mog.

The clan are also rumoured to have a manjaree of animals. But most aspects of the clan are all veiled in secrecy.

H’. Mog’s should notify the Moggoth of anything important.

If any of these are to be broken the following punishments are to be distributed.

Sacrifice - This is an act where a dagger is used to open up the body before the spleen is taken out by hand. This is done without any ointment and it is checked the subject is completely sober. Enduring the entirety of pain. This wound is then sewed up and cleaned. Once this is done the person in question must eat the spleen whole. Once this is done they must wait one week before returning to the Moggoth to declare an apology.

Many other punishments such as exclusion from the clan, public humiliation, simple apology, and title stripping are also to note.
