The Broken Cask Festival:

 

It has been many years since Urguan’s folk have gathered together in great numbers to celebrate one of the Brathmordakin’s greatest gifts to the descendants: Drink! Thus, Falk Irongut, Iron Baron, is proud to announce just such a festival will be held at The Braided Beard!

 

The Breaking of the Casks:

 

No drink is more delicious than free drink in copious quantities! The festival shall begin with the breaking open of several large casks of alcohol, so that drink may flow freely into the cups of those attending! As the opening of the casks marks the start of the festival, the celebration will only end once they have all been completely drained.

 

A Contest of  Quantity:

 

The hallmark of any good festival is at least one drinking contest. Following the Breaking of the Casks will be a Grand Drinking contest with a prize of 500 mina going to the winner! All contenders, both dwarven and non-dwarven, are welcomed and encouraged to participate.

 

A Contest of  Quality:

 

Almost as pleasurable as plentiful amounts of average drink is a single drink of incredible quality. Thus, the Broken Cask festival will also contain a contest for brewers to enter, with another 500 mina prize going to the winner. Brewers will present their finest creation to a panel of three dwarven experts, who shall determine which drink is the finest out of all.

 

Additional Amusements:

 

Not everyone is interested in contests, some simply enjoy good company and good drink. For those not interested in participating in either contest, additional amusement will be offered, including performances from bards, festival games, and of course, free gifts to all those that attend.
