It was a early sun rise, the warm colors filled the sky as  A Hei-Zhu would  stare up to the sky with a warm smile, he hummed a soft  tune "Toady is so beautiful, this one always enjoys watching sunsets with you" he looked down next to him to see that nobody was there. His smiled waned for a moment as he rose to his feet, stretching his body for a few second "Time to get ready, today is a big day, this one must be ready to help "The Hei-zhu spoke as he started to tie his armor panels down to his body, and placed his helmet on his head. Grabbing his weapon that leaned upon a nearby tree, marching towards the gates of  Amaetha, humming the same tune from earlier "No river is too wide " he smiles as he enter the great city, his mind and body  one as he was ready to do what his must that day

Some time has pass, and the forces of the world started to prepare from the upcoming battle. His heart was warmed by the bravery, and focus of people who at one point may have been enemies. United against a common foe. There he met his new mentor, A druii of short size but much larger in strength, and compassion. He also meet up with a might warrior, A ferocious lynx, in her he saw reflection of himself. He wanted to tell her what lessons he had learned, but now wasn't the time. The Dragons roar, and fire ravage the city of Amaetha, but yet the Hei-zhu did not fear any of this, his simple goal of protecting those around him over powered and trace of it.  He followed his allies as the ran out to see what was coming, There would the Hei-zhu face a great foe. Two creatures made of iron and burned with fiery rage marched towards the capital, He looked to the two druii, and the other soldiers who came along, all of them knowing what must be done for others to live. Action struck Quick as the Hedge hog druid used his gifts to prepare an devastating attack against the monstrosities, It was the Lynx warrior, and The Hei-zhu duty to buy him time. They blocked for the druii to protect him as he did his work, and work he did. The roots controlled by this mighty warrior forced stones to crash done one of the metal beast as Reinforcements attacked they other. The Beast fell but was only enraged by this, causing a tree to fly at the Hei-zhu, failing upon him. At this moment he had a flash back when he was a slave, and prisoner as whips of leather and flame would strike against his back those thoughts clouded his mind for a few moments as he was pinned under the burning tree. He looks around the fire, his hands instinctively grabs the ground, for a second though he sees a village in fire but not this one. One that he had lived in many moons ago, his gaze ghost lost in the fire as he tears began to fall down his eyes. A single Cry brought him back to reality, and at the moment he kicked himself free from the ashen wreck, Anger and Pain drove him to charge forth. He was not alone in this as the lynx warrior was by his side, together they ran towards the monster to do whatever harm they could. The monster was struck by another attack form the Hedge hog druid, causing it to give one last attack at the two who were approaching it. The Hei-zhu saw this blade as that same memory of the burning village came crashing into his mind, and the thought of how he lost his world that night. His Gaze looked over to the lynx warrior, and he thought if he couldn't teach her, he could save her, something he couldn't done of for his own child. The Hei-zhu knew this warrior had a family waiting for her, his choice was clear. The Hei-zhu pushed the lynx warrior out of the way as she tried to resist, something that confirmed there alikeness.  He stood over the warrior as the blade fell through his body, and she was knocked aside. At that single moment everything in his life started to flash before him. He saws his friends, some who have guided him, and others he had guided. He saw an young elfess, who had a hard time breaking away from her shell but knew she and a big heart, He saw a mighty Ram who wielded a hammer made of stars, A stalwart Knight standing by the resting place of her sister, and many more. The last person he saw was  A small Hei-zhu child who looked to him with a smile. The Hei-zhu smiled back at him as he looked over to the lynx warrior, being carried away by a brave man "Go to your family...let them know your love..live life happy "  He spoke very lightly as his blood started to pour out of him. His gaze starting to fade he looks ahead to his son as he sings "No river is too wide, to from your side" he would let out a deep cough as his blood splatter out "This father shall be,,,with his son"  with those final words, he closed his eyes and he let out his last breath.

The Hei-zhu would open his eyes again to see a river of many colors, on a small fishing boat was that Child, His child as they were united again. Together the sailed down the river as the both sang a happy tune, for all of eternity. Few thoughts of the life he left behind crossed his mind, but he knew they would be okay, he had faith in all who came across to make their lives great and wonderful, as that is all he ever wanted, Others to love and value life.

The Lynx Druid sat by the firepit in the middle of the Vale enjoying the quiet that she currently had to both heal from the event but to also think of a dear friend that she recently lost.
A friend she will forever regret not knowing more about but she felt like she understood him. An incredible warrior whom she saw countless times taking on foes with ease that many others would struggle with be it the basilisks in Aegrothond or the many Inferi that fell to him.

Though this wasn't the only side of him she greatly respected. For he was far more than a warrior. He was a teacher to many and a friend to more. Indeed, it almost seemed like wherever he went he left the place better than it was before.
In the end she hopes beyond hope that he got his last wish, being able to see his son again.

Valmir stood within the empty monastery where she spent many years of her childhood growing up. A sad smile being worn on her lips as she remembered her god-father, her teacher and her friend. For he was all of this not just to her but to many others in the world.

From a young 'Aheral painting crude drawings of the Hei-zhu on her bedroom wall, even then he was her idol.

She never knew why but he was always someone she wanted to be like, even if she rarely said it out loud. He showed great compassion for everyone he met and always made them feel welcome as well as cared for.

While she wasn't quite an adult yet, still being young in many cases. Valmir was set on her path and philosophy many aspects of which were inspired from the different lessons he gave, not just to her but to the others she was lucky enough to witness.
Clutching the book he gave to her many years back she dipped her head in respect towards the monastery and in turn the fond memories of a wonderful person.

"I pray that someday down the river. We shall meet again, my friend."

Niv thought back to the long night, when the Sun had been eclipsed and plunged the world into darkness. When she first saw the Hei-zhu stood alone in a boat upon the glassy waters of Aegrothond's Starlight Bay; how he had moved so gracefully and yet so powerfully. How kind and wise he was, when they had spoken, so much so even that she did not recognise him as the young Hou she had met many years before. "Marathri'lle y'ameonn Annyere," the Drui had called him. 'Gentle Dragon, Who Dances Upon Wood.'

Looking out over the sea, with the Sun shining and the wind sweeping through the trees, Niv's eyes gleamed with tears. "Flesh to soil.. blood to water.. bone to dust.." Releasing a sigh she then inclined her head into the light and closed her eyes before her tears could fall.

Tianrui Ren watched on as the lifeless body of Qing Hui was brought to shore, allowed no moment of respite to grieve as the living demanded his attention. His medical bag was near empty after the first two ferries of survivors were brought across the Elvenesse channel, waters rippling orange and white from the flames that raged over the city. As the last ferries departed the city, and the sea itself began to boil, Ren did not get to see where the Hei-Zhu had been taken in the chaos.

The rest of the day blurred travelling between Elysium, Yong Ping, and Urguan, the elf doing his best to tend the wounded and bring medical supplies where they were needed. As night fell over Almaris, he was able to return home. There was no sign that the noble Qing Long was returned to the monastery yet. Leaving his boots at the door, Ren walks before the shrine to Hualian. He falls into a kneel, a moment of silence held for the fallen before he lights another candle to join the many before the statue.

"May you join our Ancestors with peace, Qing Long."

An entity dwells in a far away plane. There a sea of broken souls swell and wash against its ashen silhouette. Certainly, slowly... It rejuvenates itself. A sense of something that once belonged to it passing on to these realms pings in its otherworldly mind. Hungrily it claws at the bounds of the cage of its making - yet Qing Long remains out of reach. Always out of reach.

______

In the Eternal Forest an elder tree rests; a deep sleep, forevermore. Though in its peaceful wake, it's aware of a gentle, noble soul that saved someone it once loved. It thanks them in its heart before sleeping again.

The Brave man didn't know Qing Long as well as he might of liked, he knew the man to be kind hearted, for the way he fought and tried not to bring harm while they had hunted together. He knew the man to a teacher, passing on the knowledge of the monk to the next generation along with other skills. He knew the man to be wise, and a man with views he followed, a code he kept. For his tome that he had gifted to him in the past spoke as such. He knew the man had a creative side, witnessing crafting somekind of instrument by the campfire in a morn many months past. He knew all these things, but still, there had been so much more that could of been learned. Yet now, in a town surrounded by fire, tree's ablaze and land scorching the stone in a hot flame. That time came to pass, and laid to rest.

But he couldn't just leave him there! Even fallen, and surrounded by fire. Having guided the lynx to their allies he dove back into the flames. Hating every moment of it as his mind flashed back to his youth, but he refused to leave the man to be consumed by the flames of the dragons when so many cared for him. Finding him in the den where the titans had once fought, he picked him up, much like he had the lynx. Retrieving his weapon, and his scroll that were left around him and began to guide the man that had grown still out of the burning lands. Out of the realm, towards the ships. Towards harbour. And safety.

Safety was found within the waters. As it had with so many others that had taken to the ships. It allowed travel without flames, sword, and lighting to rain down to claim them within a city under siege. And with it, the Hou-zi was brought back to Vale, back to one of their homes. To find a resting place that matched the gentle soul of the Hou-zi that once stood there.
