ADVENTURERS NEEDED!

Today, on the Second of St. Amyas, I have come forth to the King, and the Aulic government with a petition to grant me a charter, for the creation of a map of the Kongzem and it's many riches offered by the land. With the acceptance of this petition and the subsequent charter, now I hold a mandate to explore, name, chart, and hunt the territories of his Royal Majesty. Yet, such a task cannot be accomplished alone, for the wild has many threats and dangers, and there are aspects of Hanseti-Ruska such as geology and animal territories that ought to be included in a map, yet I hold no expertise in these vocations. With this, I declare that I shall be recruiting a team to aid me in my expedition, and thus create the Charna Voyageurs.

THE VOYAGEURS.

The Charna Voyageurs shall be consisting of a team of six individuals, each with their own expertise in specific vocations in association with the expedition. Applicants will be judged based on their skill and knowledge in their specific fields, and be inducted into the team before the voyage starts. With this in mind, here are the roles that are necessary for the Charna Voyage.

THE CHARTSMAN

unknown.png

The Chartsman shall be the leader of the Voyage, responsible with administrative action within the voyage itself. He is responsible for determining the route taken in each voyage, and the locations explored. Furthermore, the Chartsman is responsible for naming the locations discovered, and marking various geologies and facets of the Haeseni landscape upon the Lotharic Map. The Chartsman further shall manage the food stockpile, and ensure that the rations are not exhausted. Through the Chartsman, do the rest of the group wield unimpeded exploration, hunting and grazing rights within the Kongzem's respective territories.

SKILLS NEEDED

- Elementary mapmaking skills.

- Group Leadership.

-Expertise on geology.

-Identification of geographical and political divisions.

THE HUNTSMAN

During the Charna Expedition, the Voyageurs will have to come across and face various wildlife, ranging from flora to fauna, and will need continued sustenance without having to rely on rations for the full duration of the journey. With this in mind, the position of the Voyageur-Hunter is necessary. The Hunter-Voyageur shall be responsible with tracking wildlife, identifying dangerous animals and plants and leading foraging and hunting parties. He shall maintain and distribute the hunting equipment when needed.

SKILLS NEEDED

- Marksmanship.

- Tracking

-Identifying flora and fauna

-Leadership of hunting and foraging parties.

-Fishing and harpooning.

THE SAILOR

The duty of charting Hanseti-Ruska necessitates the presence of an experienced sailor, who holds knowledge and expertise on the nautical conventions of the Kingdom. During the expedition, the Voyageurs will have to course through the large rivers and lakes, as well as the coastline of Hanseti-Ruska. They will have to overcome many challenges of the the water at the behest of the Sailor-Voyageur. From identifying fishing spots and the locations of predatory nautical wildlife to discovering unmarked islets, the sailor's expertise is of utmost importance within the expedition With this, the responsibility of maintaining and the captaincy of the flagship Waltzing Matilda and the defence of the Voyage against creatures of the sea falls upon the mantle of the Sailor-Voyageur. They will have to lecture and teach the Voyageurs on the basics of the mariner life, and ensure the flagship survives the voyage.

SKILLS NEEDED

- Sailorship.

- Navigation.

-Understanding weather patterns.

-Fishing and harpooning.

The Current Sailor: VACANT

THE CHAPLAIN

unknown.png

As the expedition isolates the Voyageurs from their homes, families and thrusts them into unknown territory, spiritual guidance will be a commodity held in high value. There will be mental challenges to overcome during the expedition, and the mental wellbeing of the group will have to be maintained. Furthermore, good conduct and respect upon God's works will be necessitated, in order to ensure that no harm comes to the countryside while the exploration continues. Thus, the position of the Voyageur-Chaplain is created to ensure that the moral integrity of the group remains intact. The Chaplain's duties fall in the paradigm of ensuring that the group behaves in accordance to the guiding principles of the Canon while dealing with the wildlife of Hanseti-Ruska. Furthermore, the Chaplain is entrusted with providing full spiritual guidance to the group.

SKILLS NEEDED

- Chaplaincy

- Spiritual Guidance

-Understanding of the Scrolls

-Understanding Omens.

The Current Priest: VACANT

THE GUARDSMEN

unknown.png

The two Voyageur-Guardsmen are military men capable of swordsmanship and military organisation enlisted into the aid of the expedition. Whether they be Brotherhood armsmen or mercenaries, they are ultimately responsible for the defence of the Voyageurs against inhospitable countryside. They provide protection for the camp, stand guard and keep a watchful eye around the perimeter at all times. During hunts, they form the bulk of the hunting party under the hunter, and are consistently vigilant in times of exploration. They are also considered to be labourers, and may act to help the Voyageurs as sailors, hunters, foragers etc. as needed.

SKILLS NEEDED

- Military experience

- Armsmanship

-Guarding.

THE VOYAGE

The Voyage will be divided to various separate journers into specific corners of the Kingdom. All journeys shall start from the capital of their respective province (ex. Karosgrad if exploring the Crownlands) and the journeys will end in the starting location so that the voyageurs can disperse to their homes safely. Then, they shall gather again later on and repeat the process for a different quadrant of the Kingdom.

EXPEDITION 1 - THE NIEDERWALD EXPEDITION

unknown.png

Departing from Karosgrad, the Voyageurs shall explore the Niederwald region and the temperate forest surrounding it. The expedition shall border Lake Voron to the North, and Whtie Stallion Lake to the South. Due to the temperate climate and lowland elevation of the Reinmaren countryside, Day 1 is expected to go through with relative ease and minimal danger. Bounty from the region will range from lakeside ores, to trophies harvested from deer.

EXPEDITION 2 - THE NEW ROTHSWALD EXPEDITION

unknown.png

Again departing from Karosgrad, Expedition 2 shall focus on the Northwesterly part of Hanseti-Ruska and the land around the Duchy of Vidaus, dubbed New Rothswald. The region is characterised by it's boreal forests, and a thin layer of snow. Thus, the Voyageurs shall take care with the local wildlife, such as boars and bears while also utilising dog sleds to traverse the terrain next to the Duchy. Thick coats will be required.

EXPEDITION 3 - THE PETRAVEZK EXPEDITION

unknown.png

The third expedition shall follow the middle ground between the Staalmarsh and the border to the Orenian countrisde, this following the Easterly mountain path through the Petravezk Mountain range. Hiking equipment will be needed, and the retinue will have to be especially vigilant during this dangerous expedition to the Attenlund, wherein the mountanious terrain is apparent. The expedition shall start from Aurveldt and stretch towards the far east, into the sea.

EXPEDITION 4 - THE BOGLANDS EXPEDITION

unknown.png

The Fourth Expediton shall take place within the Staalmarsh, wherein the Voyageurs shall have to use canoes and heavy boots in order to traverse through the thick reeds and the boggy terrain of the Staalmarsh. Furthermore, there are heavy-aired stories on the supernatural and the occult set in Staalmarsh, and the Priest shall need to be vigilant for bad omens and signs.

EXPEDITION 4 - THE VORON AND NORTHWARD EXPEDITION

unknown.png

By now, the Voyageurs will be very experienced in the vocation of journeymanship, and will be able to undertake more dangerous tasks. Starting from the Duchy of Valwyck, the Voyageurs shall fully explore the Lake Voron, and disembark on the Northern shore to traverse through the Rimeveld wastes, to finally conquer the unmapped frozen wasteland.

Due to not knowing if the application number may be high or low, I've limited the number of the voyageurs to 6 people. However, do not be discouraged to apply because of that number. If many people do apply to be a part of the expedition, I can divide the expedition to 2 parts; using one group of Voyageurs for a half, and another group for the other half.
