Friar Viktor shakes his head, sighing deeply as he heard the news of Presbyter Ileana's death “I knew this would happen eventually. They may be truly lost, for they do what even the Dwarves and Ferrymen did not, despite insistence that it was a war on Canonism; they butcher a member of the clergy. Public ill will in Oren tends to be directed towards His Holiness personally, and the Church as an institution… of course, threats towards the lives of the clergy, especially Ileana, weren’t uncommon, and clergy usually fear for their lives within Orenian territory, but no citizen had as yet followed through with their threats and intimidation.'' The friar concludes the passage in his diary and looks about his Nu Loc tent, lost and dejected, and mourns the death of a good Canonist woman… his holy bamboo stick was nearby, however, ready to beat teleporters and telepaths

Father Katerina's eyes widened upon hearing the news, clenching her fists together. 'How could they? She was too young to be taken off the earth so soon...' she thought to herself, her mind in a chaotic rage "AND SHE WAS A PRIEST!" she yelled the last part out in a cry.

"I had just started training her... Why?" she spoke, looking up to the skies. Asking Godan for strength, it had after all been awhile since she had to get over a life of someone she cared for.

A firebrand continues advocating for religious war upon the Godless within Providence, now utilizing Ileana's murder in Providence as further just cause. "Fear of God must be re-instilled within the hearts of the Orenian or else more danger will befall the Church!"

Father Paco shakes his head and lets out a sigh of disappointment at news of the clergy woman's death - having sympathy for a fellow librarian from another country.

"De violence agenst clergy must cease, as well as de violence agenst women!" The elderly priest proclaimed by himself, forgetting the acolyte he had been speaking to had died some years ago. He began to weep in his dementia episode.

Duncan would stare at the dead body sighing "Wonderful, an attack on the church, and from what looks like [REDACTED]"

And so the Shepherd wept for the loss of one of his flock, and thenceforth knelt in prayer - releasing a dove to guide her to where she wished to go...

When Helton Rhodes Helvets heard of the attack, he said a prayer for the fallen clergywoman. Despite the tensions between his nation and Mother Church, Helton wished no ill or harm to any of those shepherds of humanity.

Bishop Markos sits in his study for two days, praying for the soul of Presbyter, when he comes out, he walks into the Savoyard Bascillica, and screams up into the dome of the building "Oh God, Oh God, let it be me not her"

Josephine Aleksandra prayed for the Presbyter's soul at the shrine to St Judith, the spires of Woldzmir standing tall around her. When she rose, it was on shaky legs. She used the walls to steady herself as she wound her way up to the Dowager's Tower.

"Have you heard the news?" Her voice was hoarse from disuse. "A woman of the Church, slain. If there are those willing to commit such an atrocity... I fear for you, Mother." @MunaZaldrizoti

It appears God is punishing the Church of Haense for all of their liberties and vices. Excellent news. Manfred would return to his work with a smile the enemies of the Emperor receiving their just desserts

In passing, word reached the empress of the priestess’s death. Although at first unaware of the full content of the situation, she later pressed for further information.

It might have been surprising to many, given the priestess’s public protests against the excommunicated monarchs and shouts to see them overthrown, but Anastasia mourned in her private chambers - as she reflected over a woman dedicated to her faith. Perhaps in another time, another place, they might have been good acquaintances if not given the circumstances of years ago.

Ileana was dutiful, faithful, resilient. Anastasia could not help but admire it as she thought of her few interactions with the woman. “We must all fulfill our duties in life. She was only doing hers.”

Spoiler

Really cool character @Burnsiderand genuinely enjoyed the RP interactions we had between Ileana & Anastasia. o7

Charlotte's eyes fell closed, taking in the news of yet another needless casualty amidst all of this conflict.  The Presbyter had attended to her family at the memorial of Philip Aurelian, consecrating his burial ground and speaking against the excommunicated who had dared to step foot there. Now...she was dead.

"I only spoke with her a mere two saint's days ago...she swore that she would continue her work in Providence, no matter the danger," She'd relay to Josephine, "This is how they repaid her." The imperial drew in a breath, "If the person who committed this claims to be of GOD's flock...they follow no GOD that I've ever met."

And so, the Pretender-Empress began to author a public statement on the loss of the faithful and loyal Presbyter, who died hoping to free a nation from temporal tyranny.

The Prelate to the Clergy wept. He wept for the state of the world, and for the dead Canonists around it — but most of all, he wept for the death of that Presbyter, taken far before her time.

Jarad would look over the report, thinking back to his wedding and the attempt on the pontiff "likely the same two people if i had to put mina on it" the attorney general would sigh "May the Presbyter rest in peace and enjoy the seven skys" he would do a small prayer before setting his mind back to the task at hand, finding who did it and have them put on trial
