Through the portal, he fell- through the water he walked,

A land of music, of color, and wonder!

A hidden paradise, a bastion of perplexity and confusion,

What secrets lurk within, what secrets hide- now within grasp?

Oh my, what a beautiful place, baptized in the song of the world!

Never quiet, forever playing songs of antediluvian origin,

Of ancient slumber.

Oh, how these songs play in this land of wonder.

As he walked through the roseate mists that swirled within the sky,

His eyes would wander, his form entranced.. What was there to see?

Hidden within the mists there he was- playing the piano, singing a tune of lost origin.

A blue cloak ‘pon its back and a song within the echoes.

Why do you sing? Why do you call through the forest?

And so the creature of the mist turned- confused and frightened.

It would stand in posthaste- running through the leaves!

Oh, he would follow, he must see where this leads.

Through branches they broke, over roots, they would jump!

“Stop running” he called to that thing of haze,

“I only wish to speak!” though the thing turned unfazed.

It would stop and stare at the man of life.

“You of flesh- you must leave.. Lest you shall become like me.”

Become like it? Nothing but wind?

A hand raised that man would look ‘pon his own.. Pink mists within.

Frightened and alone he would fall, what could he do to avoid this fate?

Was he destined to stay forever in this place?

Oh, he could not concentrate to escape this state.

Who knows what the mists thought, yet it stepped forth,

Pity within forgotten eyes, fear in lost voice-

“Take this.. Take it and run.” it would call through the winds,

A blue cloak was handed to the man who had resigned to his fate.

And so it was taken, a voice coming into mind “Run you coward- I shall not stay here”

Confused and lost the man would place the cloak ‘pon his shoulders..

And so it would light- it would dance it would sing!

A flash in the darkness and he would return-

What was that realm? What was that place?

He would raise his hand to look- to see if he escaped fate.

And there it was, nothing but flesh, a proper appearance.

A sigh of relief a gasp of air!

Yet a voice in the echoes- “You should have stayed there.”
