Kivdrona is an event site and project we’ve been working on since mid july of last year. It started off as a bunch of ruins resettled by tents with NPCs giving out quests, and what we had in mind was to oversee the development of a dynamic NPC settlement which would react and adapt to the choices and actions (or lack thereof) of the Player Characters interacting with it. For example, a bunch of players helping the settlers rid themselves of a monster problem or clear out a trade route facilitated growth and allowed Kivdrona to build and expand, whereas lack of attention given to a bandit bounty led to a major building burning down in a continuous string of raids which stopped once the marauders were taken care of.

Since then, Kivdrona came a long way from its days as a shoddy frontier town and is now to be considered a city in itself. Numerous events and countless hours of rp led to this moment, and you are welcome to add to them in any way which your character deems fit by visiting the city and interacting with the players, NPCs and overarching storyline surrounding it. Your character may even acquire accommodation in Kivdrona either by renting a room at The Prancing Camel inn, or by acquiring an apartment through a private realtor at an admittedly larger, albeit one-off sum. Should you wish, you could even join certain factions or enterprises within the city to pay off your crippling medical debts from getting mortally wounded in a previous adventure and hauled off to the Chelka Co. Clinic for whatever they called “Reinstatement and Recovery”. You can vandalize and assault and potentially be jailed for it, or you can volunteer to be a guardsman. It's really your choice how you wanna interact with Kivdrona.

You may be coming over to Kivdrona to pick up a bounty or quest, to commit crimes, to start a business, or simply just to get pissed drunk and gather gossip at the local tavern. Either way, you’ll be interacting with a narrative environment which will treat your character’s actions as granted and provide appropriate and engaging roleplay in return.

 

That being said, here are a few rules of conduct to keep in mind when venturing within “The Promised Land”:

 

1. Kivdrona is a soft-pk encounter area. What this means for players is that should their character die during any encounters, events or ETC, they will not be able to return as that character until such a time that their characters are either revived for that eventline through encounters with it or we’ve declared a chapter / act / plotline resolved and have refreshed all soft PKs. - Unlike stock deaths, Soft PKd characters have no memories of the eventline. Period. This is to prevent lackluster metagaming. 

 

2. Kivdrona is not a free observation area. Come IC or don’t come at all. The region will have entry flags with a minor message. If you're there in MC, you're there IRP! 

 

3. If you don’t have it on you in MC, you don’t have it on you IRP. No excuses. This extends to potions, magical items, healing materials, etc etc etc. If you’re going to use it, have it in your inventory and properly signed as needed. Thanks. 

 

4. Seeing as Kivdrona is an event site ran under the supervision of the ST, lack of tile affiliations allow for much more mobility when it comes to allowing the Players to IRPly interact with the structural elements around them. Regardless, any such interactions should be undergone under the supervision of an ST overseeing over the eventline.

Although you can reach us through in-game means as well, we would prefer you use our ping-ticket format to contact us, which can be found in the Kivdrona Discord server.
