ISSUED AND CONFIRMED BY HIS SERENE HIGHNESS THE PRINCE OF SEDAN,

4th OF SUN'S SMILE, 1865

To the people of Sedan,

Royal Styles and Titles have existed in the Principality of Sedan for many years now, however no official documentation or edicts has ever been published on them. Thus the Crown has deemed it fit to officially outline Royal Styles and Titles of the Royal Line, House de Joannes.

The Patriarch of House de Joannes holds the title of Sovereign Prince of Sedan. They are the supreme authority within the Principality and as head of the family. His official style shall be: His Serene Highness, the Sovereign Prince of Sedan. At the time of this edict, the current Sovereign Prince of Sedan is His Serene Highness Frederick I de Joannes.

The Eldest Son of the Sovereign Prince, also known as the Heir-Apparent of the Principality holds the title of Crown Prince of Sedan. Their official style shall be: His Highness, the Crown Prince of Sedan. The individual who holds this title shall have great power, second only to the Sovereign Prince, assuming that they have reached the age of majority. Additionally, they shall hold a seat on the Council to assist and prove their capabilities as the successor to the Crown.

Those born as a son of a Sovereign Prince or the Crown Prince are titular Princes. Their official style shall be: His Highness, Prince of Sedan.

Those born as a daughter of a Sovereign Prince or Crown Prince are titular Princesses. Their official style shall be: Her Highness, Princess of Sedan.

Children born as de Joannes’ who are not the Sovereign Prince or Crown Prince’s children shall bear the style of His or Her Highness respectively. They shall not bear any titular Royal titles of Prince or Princess however.

The eldest son of the Sovereign Prince is to hold the important historical title of Baron of Ponce. If the current Sovereign has no sons, then the eldest son of the previous Sovereign shall retain the title. At the time of this edict, the current Baron of Ponce is His Serene Highness, Frederick I de Joanness.

The titular title, Baroness of Henriu is hereby formed, named after the late Prince-Grandmother, Henrietta de Joannes. The eldest daughter of the Sovereign Prince shall hold this title. If the current Sovereign has no daughters, then the eldest daughter of the previous Sovereign shall retain the title. Marrying into another dynasty will disqualify anyone from holding the title, and it shall pass to the next eldest eligible holder. At the time of this edict, the current Baroness of Henriu is Her Highness, Olivia Isabel de Joannes.

May God watch over my family and guide our path forward.

Signed,

HIS SERENE HIGHNESS, Frederick I of House de Joannes, By the Grace of God, Sovereign Prince of Sedan, Count of Louisville, Haverlock and Döbern, Viscount of Fauconberg, Baron of Ponce, Avoria and Pyrmont, Protector and Lord of the Valley of Goats, the Haikaprier, Head-Librarian and Founder of the Frederick Library, Liberator of Libraries
