Nolan_ 4103 Popular Post Share Posted March 30, 2022 Issued by the DUKE OF VIDAUS On this 11th day of Joma ag Umund of 419 E.S To the Duke of Reinmar, In the last of the Lifstala presentations, Lord Mikhail var Ruthern - my son, heir and anointed Nikirala Stag of the season as decided upon by a committee comprising yourself and your wife - delivered upon House Barclay words of insults. These insults were harsh indeed but not unprovoked as you so claim, for it was you who began by insinuating that my son was unworthy, insulting the Prinzenas Klara needlessly in the same breath. The faults of the House Barclay include; I. Initiating the round of insults against Mikhail var Ruthern. II. Inferring that the titular title ‘Prince of Sutica’ is of import. III. The Duke’s failure to possess a spine in his own decision making, namely in the selection of the Nikirala Stag. IV. The Duke’s submissiveness as to only challenge the House of Ruthern and not the Grand Prinzen who also insulted your house, naming your wife, the Duchess, a harlot. V. The Duke’s overly fragile ego, so delicate that a fifteen year old’s words threaten the Marshal of our realm. VI. Needlessly insulting a member of the Royal Family in the amalgamation of House Barclay’s hubris. The House of Ruthern is not so honourless as to indulge your demands for an apology, be it in gold or ink. Instead, as the challenged, we demand you take it in blood. As you wish for a lawful compromise, we propose the following; The five greatest of the children of Ruther, pitted against five of the Barclay line. Choose them wisely, Duke of Reinmar. And know that should you refuse these terms, the Haeseni shall know your cowardice. Choose honour, your Grace. SIGNED, His Excellency, Rhys II Mikhail var Ruthern, Lord Speaker of Hanseti-Ruska, Duke of Vidaus, Count of Metterden, Viscount of Greyspine, Lord of Druzstra

argonian 12429 Share Posted March 30, 2022 "Rutherns demand a number-limited fight because their men are too limp-****ed to father many sons like Barclay bulls," says Adelmar.
crazedpudding 1724 Share Posted March 30, 2022 Klara Elizaveta tilts her head, her brow furrowing. "Was Ea insulted? Ea was niet there for that part." She quickly went to seek out her favorite Barclays, Erika and Sibylla. "Let it be said the best Barclays are the loyal and do niet shriek."

kaylacita 757 Share Posted March 30, 2022 Georgina Barclay read over the letter, a sigh escaping her lips. "Ah've nay idea why me 'usband 'as been so wounded from th' word'sae some child. Law states 'es free from punishment, duelin' th' laddie like 'es a man is as dishonourable as it gets."
Toffee 777 Share Posted March 30, 2022 Saoirse loudly and obnoxiously crunched on honeyed almonds in the Baruch apartment, leaving the empty paper bag on the window seat. It was all very sporting to a bored, spoiled girl who had not experienced the true horror of bloodshed. Eager for the upcoming fight, she sought her sisters so they could all sit together and watch the pummelling. Of course, the Barclays would have to accept... it was only honourable.
MotherLay 815 Share Posted March 31, 2022 Aloisa prays that she is not one of the children to fight, unless of course, she was able to 1v1 Dorothea Vas Ruthern.
Raijen Stars 772 Share Posted March 31, 2022 Johann Ludovar squinted reading the missive, he was not suprised, from his past experience as Justiciar with the Ruthern, that his brother in law's ego would not let him acknowledge mistakes, yet was glad to receive a partly, even if obviously biased, broader view of the occurances. He decided to send his appointed Jovenaar who was on standby to now actively investigate and get the true big picture. @tcs_tonsils_
GoodGuyMatt 6771 Share Posted March 31, 2022 Erich Barclay arches a brow from the Seven Skies "Did the Rutherns finally grow the balls to express their hatred for Barclay publically instead of hiding behind the king?" he wondered, scratching his long mustache "Maybe they simply don't have a mad king to use as a cover anymore." the former Duke shrugged then "Must be it" he concluded "How many little legitimate men must a Ducal house to request that only five of them fight? Maybe that's all the numbers they have?"
